I really had a wonderful time here. I have stayed here on two occasions - once in 2023 and another in 2025, and I believe it has improved immensely. Firstly, the location cannot be beaten. It is essentially connected to City Hall station, which has 2 important subway lines. You can get anywhere quickly from here. There is a lot around the hotel including Gwanghwamun, Gyeongbukgung, Myeongdong etc. Close-by there are a number of large buildings full of restaurants and cafes like D tower etc. You will not be lacking in things to do, eat, or see at this hotel. The room was not large but I think it was enough. The bathroom is quite big. We stayed in a basic room but it had a large shower and bath, and plenty of space. The room has a smart and logical setup that wastes no space. The beds are extremely comfortable and we slept extremely well. The cleaning was impeccable as well. It was spotless each time we came back to the room. We did not eat at every restaurant but they have a few. We just had breakfast one morning. You get a discount if you are staying in the hotel. I think the amount of food was not gigantic but they were well thought out and everything tasted good. The staff in the restaurant was kind, professional and on the ball. It was also a nice space to hang out. The common spaces of the hotel are nice. There is a pleasant smell in the lobby and in the hotel in general. The sauna is fantastic, though it should be noted it costs extra - a little over 30,000 if I recall. It is well worth the price, however. The gym had 2 floors and plenty of machines and free weights. They even have gym attire to wear. The staff at the spa and fitness centre were kind and professional as well. There are other things to do and see in the hotel like the lounge, the bakery, a Chinese restaurant etc. - but as I said we did not go there. I've mentioned the staff several times but I want to highlight them as what separates this hotel from some other 5 star hotels in the area. Firstly they are well-staffed. In no area of the hotel did we feel we had to wait or were not taken care of. The front desk check-in was fast as they had plenty of people working there. Each one we talked to was warm, friendly, professional and courteous. The bellmen would always hold doors, ask if we needed anything, and were also extremely warm and friendly. We had some special requests, like a coffee machine in the room as I did not have one last time in 2023. I received an immediate message that it would be available in my room, and there it was when we checked in. I really cannot say enough about the wonderful staff here. It was professional without being stuffy, and we always felt taken care of. Anyway I think this hotel is well worth your time and money. There are some others in the area at a higher price point that I don't think would be worth the extra. The only negative is the same as every hotel in the area. Often there are protests or demonstrations, typically with some kind of right-wing conspiracy theorist agenda, yelling and screaming nearby. This is just a fact of life in this area as I have come to understand and will be an issue at any hotel in this area. They are always during the day though so it should not disrupt your sleep nor your plans. I look forward to staying here again!

I stayed at THE PLAZA Seoul, Autograph Collection as a Titanium member and was upgraded to a suite, which made the stay feel very special. The suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and had one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. The only downside was that the room didn’t have much of a view. The staff were outstanding — warm, attentive, and professional throughout my stay. The bell desk team and the executive lounge staff in particular went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The executive lounge itself was a highlight, with excellent food and a great selection of drinks in a relaxing setting. Overall, the combination of a comfortable suite, amazing staff, and a fantastic lounge made this a truly memorable stay. I would gladly return on my next trip to Seoul.

As a Bonvoy Titanium member, I had requested a room with a nice view, but was assigned the same suite type I booked, which unfortunately faced the windows of the next building. As a result, I had to keep the blinds closed throughout my six-night stay, which made the room feel quite depressing. The bed was also too firm for my back, and housekeeping did not have a mattress topper available. On the positive side, the food in the Club Lounge was enjoyable, though it became repetitive after a few days. The staff were friendly and the hotel’s location was excellent.

We had an overnight stop in Korea and Mrs Vicar booked The Plaza. We were both very happy with it. ||From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble for anyone and always with a smile. Unfortunately there was heavy rain upon arrival which meant our plan to walk about and check out the local scene for lunch came to nought. Instead we ate at the ground floor restaurant which was a welcome surprise. I can’t remember giving soup much of a mention before but the minestrone and clam chouda were definitely worth waiting for. I say waited for as they appeared after our quality club sandwich and burger. The waitress said it took time to cook them from fresh. It must have been something lost in translation…||The hotel room was fairly compact as it had one of the largest double hotel beds we’ve experienced. It had the funkiest lighting we’ve seen complete with a control panel for the motorised curtains as well. ||The bathroom was spotless with an ample shower and a multifunctional toilet that came with its own control panel. It’s a thing in this part of the world.. The toilet also had an illuminated polar bear icon on top of it so you could find your way to it in the dark. Everything was scrupulously clean.||All in all a great stay.

The Plaza is conveniently located, near the heart of Myeongdong, next to Deoksugung and overlooking City Hall. Other than location though, its rooms are very small and service is POOR. We had some queries prior to our stay regarding using a luggage delivery service - we wanted to be sure that the front desk will accept delivery. First, you do not find a dedicated Plaza email address on the Marriott website or app. We had to send a generic query on the app to get the concierge email address (which is different from the one reflected on a Google search). Second, after we emailed them, the email was not responded to after 5 days and 3 reminders. Sub-par service for a 5 star hotel.

We did book the hotel as a birthday present for my sister. Hear her feedback:" I would like to thank you all for making this stay an unforgettable one. We enjoyed our stay and the kindness of the staff who made sure to accommodate us from the beginning. Thank you for the birthday cake, the upgrade, and the flexibility regarding the swimming pool. We had a great stay and we hope to come back" She also said breakfast options are huge between continental buffet, Korean and Chinese food. The staff is very great and helpful. The only minus thing was that the swimming pool is usable only 3hours per day

Wife and I stopped visited Seoul in June. Took an Uber from ICN to the hotel which arrived in the front. Bellhop promptly took our bags and the front desk asked us to check in on the concierge level due to my Marriott Status.||Check-in was prompt, no upgrade which was fine as we did not spend much time in the room. The lounge was on the same floor.||When we got to our room, our luggage was already delivered. Our room had one large window facing City Hall and that weekend it was taken over by Netflix for the premier of Squid Games 3. Got to see the stars of that show from our room that evening. Quite surprised at how elaborate the event was.||Our King Bed room was tight with the bed in the middle of the room. There were plenty of plugs on one side and an electronic safe. Bathroom was also tight with an shower only. Did love the electronic shades and controls for the lights. Bed was comfy and slept great while we were there.||There is a full gym and pool which guests of the hotel can use in the building/annex next door. We also had access to the lounge for breakfast which had eggs to order. Nespresso machine for my coffee. Lounge wasn't large but plenty of seats. The food offerings were generally the same every day. We also used the lounge at night for cocktails and snacks (tho you could get a meal if you wanted) but there are so many food options around the area.||The hotel is right above the subway line and connected to the underground walkway which leads to Myeongdong.||The hotel was solid. No issues with the room or service. Check-out was quick, no issues with the bill.
