Impromptu visit whilst passing this evening. The front of house was quiet, the rear dining area quite busy. We chose to sit in the bar area, large bay window seating with our welcomed four legged family member.
Nice greeting from the 2 gents behind the bar who were very busy with other patrons.
Drinks to start & checked out the menu, we chose the Evening menu, 2 courses for £17.50.
Mains selected, desert to ponder.
Sticky toffee pudding with custard or ice cream. I suggested the chef maybe have a “near miss” slip trip or fall resulting in both toppings ending up on the deserts!?
Mains were lovely, served timely & hot.
Gents front of house attentive but not intrusive.
Were we ready for desert ,,,,,, errrr always!
Chatting to a couple seated next to us we were graciously interrupted with presented deserts ,,,, with both ice cream & custard 😍
The chef indeed did have a near miss much to our advantage.
However I do feel having to ask for 2 spoons to indulge ourselves was a little spiteful oversight on the licensee !
I welcomed hostelry good selection of drinks & tasty food, would recommend a visit ,,,, or two 😉
