This charming, classic pub boasts a picturesque setting. They offer a fantastic selection of beers, including their own house-brewed lager. The food we selected on saturday afternoon was was delicious and fairly priced. I want to give a special shout-out to the young man who took our orders at the table—though I didn’t catch his name, he was exceptionally friendly and helpful!. It was great to meet Ennis and the team and the family friendly approach on a wet afternoon after a lovely walk makes this a very special place. I highly recommend, Thanks Paul

Enjoyed a meal here after walking our dog on Leith Hill. First popped into their little village shop, then went into the pub for a meal. A water bowl was already by the table for the dog, staff was welcoming and friendly. Good gluten free options and very nice food. Would definitely return next time we walk on Leith Hill.

Had lunch here after a long walk, the staff was so kind, fitted us in without booking, the food was so delicious, ordered multiple starters, the portions are very generous and the quality was amazing.

Genuinely avoid as worst experience I’ve ever had. I honestly don’t know where to start with how bad this place was. I booked my room months in advance, rang a week before to double-check, and again the day before the stay. Each time, staff weren't particularly helpful and I was promised a confirmation email that never arrived each time, even though they had my details on their system. When I arrived, it was chaotic. My booking took ages to find, got confused between different bookings and when showed to a room (which wasn’t ready, fine as it was before 3pm), but then told me there was only one key for the room. The staff members “solution” was for me to leave my bag in the unmade room, then leave the only key either in the door or in a drawer in the corridor, because apparently the door couldn’t be locked at the time. Seemed ridiculous but I went along with it because I had a wedding to get to and my bag just had some overnight clothes in it. Long story short, when I came back at midnight, the door was locked and there were no staff around and no one answering the phone, so I ended up having to sleep in my car outside the pub. The only thing you really want from a hotel in the middle of nowhere is a reliable, secure room you can come back to. That’s the bare minimum and they failed on it in the worst possible way. To make matters worse, when I called the next morning the customer service was appalling. Rather than trying to understand what had happened, the man on the phone was dismissive and condescending after such a dreadful experience says everything. I’ve travelled plenty and stayed in all sorts of places, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve had this year so had to make a comment. Disorganised, unsafe and with staff who clearly don’t care (or maybe I just had the worst one). Book literally anywhere else. Dreadful place. Marked up 1 star as the local beer was decent.

Turned up for a booking and our table was not ready for about 20 minutes and food service was particularly slow. Normally this wouldn’t bother me that much, as they were clearly busy. However, later I went to the bar and was acknowledged by barman while waiting and as I was about to give my order he interrupt me and proceeded to serve another male customer who had just arrived. This felt particularly rude, so much so that the customer actually apologised to me. Also no tampon bins in the ladies loos!

Fish in the fish and chips were amazing. It had crispy batter that wasn't too oily and the fish was very tender and tasted fresh. Mushy peas were nicely seasoned with a hint of butter. The chips could've been crispier though. I recommend the plough inn lager, beautifully crisp and refreshing beer

Yelp
Trying to follow this review 5 years ago is not easy, and as a professional canvasser, in the 1990`s , stopping for a meal, or being there at the opening time was impossible, I am relying on feedback from other Yelpers and previous QYPERS. The Plough is well named as many pubs that circumvent the countryside. This one is near The National Trust area of Leith Hill, again walking, or other modes of transport, next to a cricket club, therefore duck when your hear the word "Six"! You can even stay there I believe?

Yelp
Visited here on a Sunday whilst passing by on a cycle trip. It was in a fantastic location, features it's own brewery and sits on a beautiful bit of tarmac going through the Surrey Hills - how could they mess this up? Despite being exactly midday on a Sunday, they had run out of most food. Their 'famous' burgers and chips had run dry. All other alternatives looked dire when scanning neighbouring patrons' plates. We opted for three pints of coke and some crisps to tick us over. That came to a few pennies short of £14. Astonishing. After deciding that it was time to move on and find a better pub, I politely asked for some water to fill our bike bottles. Apparently it is policy not to provide water for cyclists. I was advised that the toilet taps were available for use. Having used the toilet earlier, I was aware that I was more likely to catch an 18th century illness from the condition they were in. Two stars for bothering to open their doors. Got to appreciate that effort. It is criminal that they sit in such a beautiful location and deliver so poorly.

Yelp
So for anyone who has been to this pub prior to the last 4 months you may be wondering why i have scored it so highly. It's simple really, it has changed massively. With the introduction of a steakhouse style restaurant serving very good food the once extreme prices are now justified. The main bar has an eclectic mix of locals as Coldharbour itself can be safely seen as one of the last bastions of the Great British (If you fall foul of drinking more than a pint of the house 8% cider do not be surprised if by the end of the night you are joining in the chorus of "the famous tapas brothers" with a hanky on your head). For ale drinkers there are 3 house bitters brewed on site which are very popular. The staff can range from the bizarre to the brilliant and i would advise however odd just go along with it and enjoy the experience for what it is. For people who just want to enjoy the atmosphere of this excellent pub i would suggest avoiding sunday lunch as the place fills quickly with screaming muddy idiots and their children.

Yelp
The Plough Inn is a pretty place, decorated with hanging baskets of flowers outside. There's a big beer garden outside, but it was too cool the evening of our visit to eat outside, and there was actually a fire going inside! There seemed to be a mix of regulars and visitors, perhaps mostly regulars or repeat guests. There was a menu of about ten items, then a long list of specials on a blackboard at the entrance. Everyone had to go out front to check out the specials. The menu said this was gastropub food,

Yelp
Nice country pub in an exceptional location, they have done a fine job with their own ales, food good also and a cozy open fire. Well worth visiting with a hike around the Leith Hill area.

Yelp
I had a lovely meal at ~The Plough the staff were welcoming and chatty. The warm fire was very nice on a cold drisly day. I had very bad toothache and had just been up Leith Hill Tower, which made it worse the landlady changed my order so I could have a cheese souffle which was delicious, the puddings were very good and my son tried several beers and liked them. The bill was £15 a head, which I thought was very reasonable.
