Amazing pub & people. I came off my bike & got myself to this pub awaiting rescue. I was looked after by the owners & locals. 3 glasses of wine, 2 packets of crisps, dogs everywhere & dinner! What a great place. I look forward to going back. Great people, great food & a lovely, lovely pub. Food was fabulous, just what we needed!

Took a Sunday drive out of London and found this place for a Sunday roast. Me and my partner both got the trio and it was absolutely amazing! I was going on about how great it was for ages! The interior of the pub is also inviting, proper country pub 😊

Went for lunch after a walk in the area. Parking is easy to find and they have their own car park which is nice. The service was good and the food came out relatively promptly. There are some vegetarian options though the choice may be limited depending on your preferences. The burger was a fake meat type which was generously served but the quality of the patty fell a bit short considering the price. A bean based vegetarian burger would be much more popular in my opinion! The prices are quite expensive for the food but the portions are also huge (maybe a bit too big). Reducing both would make this a 5 star review.

🐶 Pet-friendly spot – well-adapted with dog-friendly tricks, big plus! 🎶 Nice background music – creates a pleasant atmosphere. 📺 TV screens – great for watching your favorite sports matches. 🍽️ Food quality: acceptable 🚽 Bathrooms – Dirty, humid, and poorly maintained. Definitely needs improvement. What I ordered & ratings: 🥩 Steak with chimichurri – Small portion, mostly fries (70%). The chimichurri lacked flavor. Wouldn’t order again. 7/10 🥬 Spinach phyllo rolls – Highly recommended! Super tasty. 10/10 🍺 San Miguel 0.0 beer – Ice-cold and refreshing! Good variety of beers available. 🍔 Burger – Just okay, nothing special. 7/10 🥛 No vegan, lactose-free, or dairy-free options – Limited choices for dietary restrictions. ☕ Coffee – Very acidic, wouldn’t order again. 6/10 🍰 Baklava cheesecake with pistachio & rose honey – Too sweet, not my favorite. 4/10 ⚠️ Important note: If you're not ordering food, you can't sit at certain tables. Ask before choosing your seats

I enjoyed the Sunday lunch there. All meats were nicely cooked, generous portions and good/friendly service. We were in the room at the back of the pub. It was nice but lacked the cosy atmosphere of the pub. I will happily go again! It was good value for money.

I’ve been to this place a few times now, when flying to and from Gatwick Airport. I’ve always been impressed by the staffs politeness and courtesy, going that extra mile. They are very dog friendly with treats at the bar, and water bowls provided. There has been a hansom, well behaved, and affectionate Australian kelpie dog there on a few of my visits. The rooms are reasonably priced have been consistently clean, tidy and comfortable during my stay. I would not hesitate to recommend The Plough Inn to any other traveller or patron.

Stopped in after a long walk and it was perfect. A cozy pub with friendly staff, a decent wine selection and great food. Really recommend.

Extremely poor service. We booked a table and was shoved to the back in a corner at a very uncomfortable table when there were several available. We weren’t sure whether it was table service or not since we weren’t given a menu so we got up and got one. The waitress came over and asked us for drinks so we ordered coffees then decided not to order food as the menu didn’t look appetising. The manager then came and told us to have our coffees and go when we offered to move to the bar seating area. Terrible service poor attitude underlying hint of racism from the manager

Yelp
Trying to follow this review 5 years ago is not easy, and as a professional canvasser, in the 1990`s , stopping for a meal, or being there at the opening time was impossible, I am relying on feedback from other Yelpers and previous QYPERS. The Plough is well named as many pubs that circumvent the countryside. This one is near The National Trust area of Leith Hill, again walking, or other modes of transport, next to a cricket club, therefore duck when your hear the word "Six"! You can even stay there I believe?

Yelp
Visited here on a Sunday whilst passing by on a cycle trip. It was in a fantastic location, features it's own brewery and sits on a beautiful bit of tarmac going through the Surrey Hills - how could they mess this up? Despite being exactly midday on a Sunday, they had run out of most food. Their 'famous' burgers and chips had run dry. All other alternatives looked dire when scanning neighbouring patrons' plates. We opted for three pints of coke and some crisps to tick us over. That came to a few pennies short of £14. Astonishing. After deciding that it was time to move on and find a better pub, I politely asked for some water to fill our bike bottles. Apparently it is policy not to provide water for cyclists. I was advised that the toilet taps were available for use. Having used the toilet earlier, I was aware that I was more likely to catch an 18th century illness from the condition they were in. Two stars for bothering to open their doors. Got to appreciate that effort. It is criminal that they sit in such a beautiful location and deliver so poorly.

Yelp
So for anyone who has been to this pub prior to the last 4 months you may be wondering why i have scored it so highly. It's simple really, it has changed massively. With the introduction of a steakhouse style restaurant serving very good food the once extreme prices are now justified. The main bar has an eclectic mix of locals as Coldharbour itself can be safely seen as one of the last bastions of the Great British (If you fall foul of drinking more than a pint of the house 8% cider do not be surprised if by the end of the night you are joining in the chorus of "the famous tapas brothers" with a hanky on your head). For ale drinkers there are 3 house bitters brewed on site which are very popular. The staff can range from the bizarre to the brilliant and i would advise however odd just go along with it and enjoy the experience for what it is. For people who just want to enjoy the atmosphere of this excellent pub i would suggest avoiding sunday lunch as the place fills quickly with screaming muddy idiots and their children.

Yelp
The Plough Inn is a pretty place, decorated with hanging baskets of flowers outside. There's a big beer garden outside, but it was too cool the evening of our visit to eat outside, and there was actually a fire going inside! There seemed to be a mix of regulars and visitors, perhaps mostly regulars or repeat guests. There was a menu of about ten items, then a long list of specials on a blackboard at the entrance. Everyone had to go out front to check out the specials. The menu said this was gastropub food,

Yelp
Nice country pub in an exceptional location, they have done a fine job with their own ales, food good also and a cozy open fire. Well worth visiting with a hike around the Leith Hill area.

Yelp
I had a lovely meal at ~The Plough the staff were welcoming and chatty. The warm fire was very nice on a cold drisly day. I had very bad toothache and had just been up Leith Hill Tower, which made it worse the landlady changed my order so I could have a cheese souffle which was delicious, the puddings were very good and my son tried several beers and liked them. The bill was £15 a head, which I thought was very reasonable.
