A wonderful, classic pub in a beautiful location. There is a great range of beers including their own brewed lager. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. I have to give a big shout out to the guy who took our orders at the table (didn't get his name, young guy who just got a German Shepherd!) who was incredibly nice and helpful. Highly recommended.

We had a very comfortable two night stay. The staff were friendly, helpful and endeavored to provide everything we needed. The bedroom with en suite was a good size and we slept well as it is in a quiet area. A hearty breakfast was served and we enjoyed two lovely evening meals at the pub. It is located in a rural setting down some narrow lanes but was well placed for our visits in the locality.

Came for Sunday lunch to celebrate our anniversary! Roast beef was £23 which is expensive but it was really really incredible. Probably best beef I’ve had on a roast and everything was really tasty (except maybe the broccoli was a bit underdone/an afterthought). Sticky toffee pudding at £9 is again steep but was really very very good. However, I think to pay these prices without complaint the service needs to be improved. It was pretty all over the place. It took a while to be seated. We had reserved a table for two but were shown to an unreserved table for four. The drinks and mains (delicious) came quickly but then no one ever asked if we wanted a dessert, which was a shame as my partner was super excited for it! So I had to go retrieve a menu myself and then only ages later were we finally asked. Then when the dessert came I was told there was only one dessert spoon so I’d have to use a soup spoon! 😂 Also I used the toilets as we left and they were horrible but there were only 15 people or so in the pub so should really be checked more regularly! I’ve waitressed a lot through uni so I know how difficult it can be. However, it really wasn’t a particularly busy service. I think maybe if zones/table organisation are implemented then things wouldn’t be so easily forgotten about. Ultimately, food was absolutely delicious, best roast I’ve had in ages BUT I think if you expect people to pay £70+ for two roasts, one dessert and some soft drinks you really have to improve the service!

The food was great if a little expensive for pub grub. The service was fab with a young crew on that were all cheery and happy to help. We use to come to this pub when we were kids 50 years ago. Every Sunday drive in from Battersea. We'd have fizzy drinks and crisps in the car and play by the phone box (still there) outside ❤️

Really nice pub and great food, went on a very busy Sunday. The only criticism I would have would be the back room acoustics. It was so loud we couldn't hear ourselves talk on our table. Suggestion some soft furnishings like curtains and rugs to help with the echo voices. The baklava cheesecake was amazing. We did wait a while for our food and service but staff were very busy and coping very well and what was expected for a sunny Sunday.

We just had a lovely lunch here. Great food, with some interesting dishes - we recommend both the wild boar pasta and the chicken shish. Good service - the landlord was there, super friendly and very keen to ensure we had a good meal.

Yelp
Trying to follow this review 5 years ago is not easy, and as a professional canvasser, in the 1990`s , stopping for a meal, or being there at the opening time was impossible, I am relying on feedback from other Yelpers and previous QYPERS. The Plough is well named as many pubs that circumvent the countryside. This one is near The National Trust area of Leith Hill, again walking, or other modes of transport, next to a cricket club, therefore duck when your hear the word "Six"! You can even stay there I believe?

Yelp
Visited here on a Sunday whilst passing by on a cycle trip. It was in a fantastic location, features it's own brewery and sits on a beautiful bit of tarmac going through the Surrey Hills - how could they mess this up? Despite being exactly midday on a Sunday, they had run out of most food. Their 'famous' burgers and chips had run dry. All other alternatives looked dire when scanning neighbouring patrons' plates. We opted for three pints of coke and some crisps to tick us over. That came to a few pennies short of £14. Astonishing. After deciding that it was time to move on and find a better pub, I politely asked for some water to fill our bike bottles. Apparently it is policy not to provide water for cyclists. I was advised that the toilet taps were available for use. Having used the toilet earlier, I was aware that I was more likely to catch an 18th century illness from the condition they were in. Two stars for bothering to open their doors. Got to appreciate that effort. It is criminal that they sit in such a beautiful location and deliver so poorly.

Yelp
So for anyone who has been to this pub prior to the last 4 months you may be wondering why i have scored it so highly. It's simple really, it has changed massively. With the introduction of a steakhouse style restaurant serving very good food the once extreme prices are now justified. The main bar has an eclectic mix of locals as Coldharbour itself can be safely seen as one of the last bastions of the Great British (If you fall foul of drinking more than a pint of the house 8% cider do not be surprised if by the end of the night you are joining in the chorus of "the famous tapas brothers" with a hanky on your head). For ale drinkers there are 3 house bitters brewed on site which are very popular. The staff can range from the bizarre to the brilliant and i would advise however odd just go along with it and enjoy the experience for what it is. For people who just want to enjoy the atmosphere of this excellent pub i would suggest avoiding sunday lunch as the place fills quickly with screaming muddy idiots and their children.

Yelp
The Plough Inn is a pretty place, decorated with hanging baskets of flowers outside. There's a big beer garden outside, but it was too cool the evening of our visit to eat outside, and there was actually a fire going inside! There seemed to be a mix of regulars and visitors, perhaps mostly regulars or repeat guests. There was a menu of about ten items, then a long list of specials on a blackboard at the entrance. Everyone had to go out front to check out the specials. The menu said this was gastropub food,

Yelp
Nice country pub in an exceptional location, they have done a fine job with their own ales, food good also and a cozy open fire. Well worth visiting with a hike around the Leith Hill area.

Yelp
I had a lovely meal at ~The Plough the staff were welcoming and chatty. The warm fire was very nice on a cold drisly day. I had very bad toothache and had just been up Leith Hill Tower, which made it worse the landlady changed my order so I could have a cheese souffle which was delicious, the puddings were very good and my son tried several beers and liked them. The bill was £15 a head, which I thought was very reasonable.
