The Pod Boutique Capsule Hotel

The rooms are clean that time when we stayed there last August 2024. The service can be improved, but we have no problems regardless. I have to commend their bathrooms and washrooms; they’re super clean and smells so good. The location is actually smart since it’s in the middle of the city, you can get to the tourist spots back and forth to the hotel that fast via a transportation or by walking, no problem at all.

Considering how much it is a night for a double pod, I would say just pay a little extra and get a hotel, the blanket was really smelly , there was never enough shower and toilets and always a wait or a que. The toilets build in with the shower wasn’t very nice and the whole floor shared 6 showers with 2 separate toilets ( one of toilet doesn’t flush, one’s bidet is broken and one shower water is broken) . They were not cleaned frequently as there’s always water and tissues on the floor . Worst is the noise from the room key cards opening the doors , obv not the hostels fault but the design of it and the inconsiderate guests just banging them shut constantly even at 2am in the morning. The hostel has signs saying no talking , etc but seems like people don’t care. The fan of the aircon is just so loud . The double pods have no sound proofing so even zip opening of suit cases , rustling of plastic bags , snoring ( the hostel did give a ear plug and already stated units are not sound proof so stay at your own risk I guess). Staff was friendly, location was ok, but that’s about it. So I suggest just pay a little extra for a better rest.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, without question. The room has almost no sound insulation - you can hear every movement from the people next door. The space is extremely small, barely enough to put one suitcase. The toilet was absolutely disgusting. There was urine all over the floor, the toilet was yellow and dirty, and there was even phlegm left in the sink that had not been washed away. It was honestly revolting. Because of this, I immediately asked to check out and requested a refund. I booked four nights but only went to look at the room and the toilet - I did not even stay there. However, they refused to refund even a single dollar. This place is extremely unhygienic and not worth the price at all. Even though it was only SGD 68, it was still a waste of money. Also, you have to carry your luggage up the stairs, which is very inconvenient.

Hostel is in a great location, free coffee, and nice showers. Bedding was not very clean (smelly and curious mark on the blanket), and private rooms are very small w not enough room to open a suitcase fully. The space above the door is open so neighbours can be heard quite easily, and there are a lot of doors opening/closing frequently as people come and go. Outlets are hard to come by but there is one in the room. Bathrooms are not very clean but the water pressure in the showers was great.

Clean beds and amenities. Soundproofing is non existent. The privacy blinds that separates the room, makes quite a bit of noise rolling up and down. Any noise made can be heard throughout the room. Room gets a little warm , no individual AC vents. Locker for belongings is directly at the bottom of the beds which means that when anyone in the room needs to work on their luggage. Everyone can hear it. The ladder to head up to the upper bunk is narrow so it's a careful mission going up and down. It would have been better if lockers were in the shower area, that would help reduce some of the noise as well If you're a heavy sleeper, this would be a great place to stay. This is the 3rd capsule hotel I've stayed at, and the first one that I've contemplated mid night to just head to the airport to snooze. The lack of sound proofing is the biggest negative of the place. Staff and amenities are great thou!

What makes The Pod stand out from the other capsule hotels: • you will be personally shown to your room • self-service check-in & check-out available • non-contact access card for the main entrance, room & locker (reassuring for people with OCD) • locker for your luggage that’s below the bunk for easy & convenient access • toilet & shower are together so it feels like your own private bathroom • sanitiser in bathroom to wipe down surfaces • tap/faucet as well as a fixed shower head in the shower area • bidet spray • bathroom and washroom areas are cleaned several times a day • changing room that doubles up as prayer room in female-only rooms (available in rooms 1 & 3 only) • shared fridge that’s cleaned weekly (pantry on Level 3) • small rail in the capsule to hang towel and clothing • free paper towels to dry hands • free cotton bud and cotton pads • iron & ironing board readily available • flat iron hair-straightener readily available ** Some things to note ** • Bring good ear plugs & blackout eye mask to sleep well because some guests may slam shut their lockers instead of gently closing it and the lights around the bed numbers on the opposite side shine directly into the capsule which is rather glaring. • The Pod is located along the main road so traffic can be heard because the windows are not soundproof. On a separate note, having USB charging ports in addition to the single power socket in the capsule would be appreciated. Other than that, thank you for the small, thoughtful details that have made all the difference to my stay here!

If you want a hostel experience you can find it here. Came in early and the room was not ready until way past check in time. We were told 4 times to come back and that it's not ready. It was evident that there was not enough staff as the luggage piled while people waited for their beds. Hostel is not cleaned often enough considering the amount of guests - empty soap and debris everywhere. If you like to sleep, stay away. Even if you have a "suite", the room is open from above so you get to hear everything. From the door slamming opening and closing constantly to your loud neighbours at 330am jumping into bed. Wifi is meh, so don't rely on it. You get what you pay for but I have stayed in better, cleaner places.

We slept in a shared female dorm for three nights. Bed and room were very clean. Bathrooms as well. A shelf would be helpful in the room but we managed. They had a changing area with a curtain in the room which was nice. The doors are a bit loud while closing but your are provided with earplugs so it works. Location ist great with Haji Lane and Arab street around the corne. Mrt only s few minutes away and a bus stop right in front of the hotel.

This was my first time staying at a capsule hotel and overall I had a great experience. This place so you're getting good bang for your buck. The front entryway was pretty narrow and requires going up some stairs before you reach the elevator, so it can be a struggle if you have multiple or large luggage you need to bring up. The main thing I wish could've been improved on would be the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Some of the showers were clogged and not draining properly, and many of the toilets smelled like old urine. The rooms and beds themselves were clean though which is the most important part. We had a large enough group to book out a whole room to ourselves which was nice, but they also have the option for gender-separated rooms. They give you a key to lock up your private belongings if needed. Checking out with the front desk was an easy process. Overall, highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick, affordable place to spend the night.

Upon recommendations by friend, I chose to stay here for one night. This is one of the nicest hostels I've stayed at. The pod that I was assigned to was of good quality, with a built-in table, plugs near the headboard and a night light. The pod was not stuffy at all even with the privacy shutter blinds pulled down. The dorm itself is well ventilated with good wifi connection and air conditioning. The toilets are very clean and had a nice, fresh smell. Each toilet cubicle came self-contained with shower and toilet facilites. Very conveniently located near Bugis Junction and accessible by train and bus. Will recommend to friends and will stay here again!

Indeed a very cosy and well maintain interior. The bed sheets are fresh and clean. Eventhough it took a few hours to check in, I believe its worth the wait if one isn't in a hurry. Nevertheless, their breakfast was good, I hope in future they have other varieties of breakfast. Keep up the good work! The night shift staff are professional at their task too.
