Positives: - Excellent location. Within a few minutes’ walk, you’ll find São Bento Station, Livraria Lello, cafés, bars, restaurants, shops, and many other attractions in the old downtown area. There’s also a bus stop (line 601) just 3 minutes away that takes you directly to the airport in a little over 40 minutes. Overall, public transport access from here is very convenient. Areas for improvement: - The reception hours are quite limited (from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). I never got to meet anyone from the reception since I would leave before 8 a.m. and return late at night. One of the days, I couldn’t enter the hostel because the access code wasn’t working. I had to contact the support number on WhatsApp, and after several minutes, the issue was resolved — but it would have been much easier with longer reception hours. - The Wi-Fi connection is quite unstable. It works well for a few minutes, but then becomes very slow for several more, which can be uncomfortable for people who combine work with travel. Final recommendation: - Go to Porto — it’s a magically beautiful city! No matter where you stay, you’ll love it. Still, I personally think The Poets Inn offers very good value for money.

Wonderful place to stay if you are in Porto. It’s very central and easy to find. It’s a bit cold inside (as it’s now almost Winter) but the rooms are equipped with extra thick blankets. It’s an old house so you can hear some noises here and there of people walking or things happening outside. Nothing that can’t be fixed with a pair of earplugs (and if you’ve spent the day walking around the city you’ll be too tired to care anyway). Checking in and out was surprisingly fast. The price and warm hospitality made everything even that much better. Will be returning at some point in the future!

I found this place average. The location was great to access everywhere of interest in Porto. Check-in was pretty smooth with clear instructions. But I found it quite old and the common areas smelt damp. You hardly encountered anyone at the reception. There was no soap in the shared bathroom which I felt was such a basic commodity to be included in any accommodation. There could also be improvements to cleanliness generally, but especially in the kitchen area as the kettle looked like it had not been cleaned in ages. The bed felt uncomfortable like you were sleeping directly on the strings covered with a blanket. The wifi on the second floor never worked during my 3 day stay. I had to connect to the first floor internet to get anything done.

Great location and views from the top floor windows. Nice people working there too. On my arrival there was a problem with the entrance code, but it was resolved momentarily via a message. The walls are thin and you can hear everything from other rooms, but it's to be expected in an old building

The location is great, you can walk from the hotel to the entire city. Room service needs a lot of attention though: towels are scarce and of bad quality. Bedding is alright, sound proofing is weak so make sure to bring your earplugs of you are a light sleeper. They don't provide any kind of toiletries which is annoying for their price point. Reception isn't there all the time, they respond quickly though on Booking. Online check-in was straightforward. Overall mid experience, too bad because the location is amazing.

There is no soap or shampoo provided? And they call themselves a 3 star hotel. The worst part is that there’s no wifi in your rooms at all. When I brought this up to the reception, they knew about it but failed to inform guests prior? And told me to go down to level 1 in the common area to access wifi. I stay on the 3rd floor (4 flights of stairs) so how does that make sense? I feel so scammed because for the price I paid I could have gone elsewhere to stay to get soap shampoo and most importantly wifi? False advertising. Do not book.

I booked accomm many months prior and not advised no breakfast offered from Jan 2025. I specifically booked not only for location, but to have breakfast to fuel my days of exploring in my accomm. |Instructions to enter great prior to arrival, clean bed, air con worked but No TV (had one in Budapest hostel with private room and bathroom), sink plug in bathroom would not close. Never saw anybody at reception for my entire stay (only open 0830-1230!)|Laundry available at 10 Euro but I hand washed.|There was a small balcony and a line in ground floor courtyard to hang clothes to dry

Overall good location and a good-sized clean room with a view of the tower of clerigos and a balcony. Some noise from the streets but manageable. They could provide toiletries for the price point but would stay again.
