The Poi Room

The Poi Room is such a fabulous space of NZ art and kindness. What a lovely bunch! Olivia at the Newmarket store was so kind. They sent a piece over for me to view from their other store and text me on arrival with photos. When I wasn’t sure of colour ways - they sent a pic of the pieces in the light. Was given 2026 calendars as an extra and beautiful wrap and care. Extra mile all around and I love the three I ended up choosing. Ngā mihi nui for the whole experience!

We came here multiple times in our week in NZ to get their beautiful braided greenstone bracelets. They have a lovely range of hand crafted, quality pieces. The staff were helpful and friendly while we rummaged through our options.

What a great example of NZ and Māori. Art, absolutely the best rang of quality items I have seen. It is well worth the time to call in, the staff are very knowledgeable about artists who have produced these awesome pieces of Kiwiana. Kerry

There is always a welcoming smile from Melanie - Jane and her team upon entering The Poi Room. The showroom is a wonderful array of visual delights. Sometimes there are wee treats and gifts to be had …. Well done on yr consistently high quality service over the years ….

The Poi Room is our first stop if we are about to go overseas and need a thank-you gift for our host. From porcelain korus to kiwiana prints, these guys have got you covered as far as gifts from NZ go. I'll admit the price tag can be a little hefty but the pieces are beautiful and unique.

This place has such an amazing collection of New Zealand art and gifts, I throughly enjoy looking around whenever I visit Newmarket. One of my favourite ranges in the store is the porcelain jelly planes, they look good enough to eat! I always come here when I need a gift for an Uncle, I know that sounds weird but they seriously have the perfect things. For example I got one of my Uncle's an awesome BBQ apron with a Dick Frizzell print on it (the four square man) and he really loved it and wears it all the time. Prices are boutique prices, but the quality of their items is amazing and they have a lot of one off things. The people are really helpful and also offer gift wrapping which is always an awesome time saver.
