We stayed here for "nights of lights" over Thanksgiving weekend. The hotel was tremendously better than I expected! It is an older hotel but they've updated it and it was very clean. Our bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows, nice fluffy towels and a fabulous shower head! Didn't use the pool but it looked very nice and they had a fire pit going with lots of seating around it. There's also a Latin restaurant on site that smelled wonderful but was packed out so we never ate there. It was close enough to St. George St that we walked. Had a great time and would stay here again in a heartbeat! All of the staff I interacted with were so friendly and helpful.

No clean washclothes or hand towels in the room but there was wet used ones hanging in the shower. Only 4 towels for 5 guests. One trash can for the entire suite. 5 remotes for 2 TVs so that was fun trying to figure out which one to use. Turns out one remote to change the channel and another remote for volume. There are dividers between the beds which is nice, until you look at all the dust built up. My grandson found a black feather in the microwave, don't know what that was about. With that, the dust and the dirty washclothes in the shower I'm wondering who's actually cleaning the rooms. Website states free breakfast everyday at their onsite restaurant. Not true. I fell for it. We ended up going to The Village Inn Restaurant down the street. Well worth it. Could hear nothing but traffic all night. Black out curtains do nothing to keep out the bright lights outside the door. Thankful we didn't get a room facing the train tacks. Walking distance to the Historic District. Once you get across the extremely busy road. All in all it was a place to lay our heads. That's about it.

Google
Staff and service was great. Joel was friendly and welcoming and a great person to have in the front of the house. He accommodated our early check in with a great room right off of the pool. Hotel is by a very busy road which was tough because we were mainly walking as the distance is walkable without paying for parking. Also active train track behind the hotel. What you would expect for the price.

Google
The Ponce is an iconic hotel a little less than a mile from historic downtown Saint Augustine. The rooms are comfortable, plenty of towels, desk and coffee maker. Water was nice and hot. Staff were all fantastic. Peter, Leon, Renee at the desk and the restaurant staff were courteous, friendly and welcoming. The restaurant had good and affordable breakfast. The lobby is a welcome space with coffee and water service. We did not use the pool, but it looked good. Overall good option for a comfortable, welcoming and affordable place to stay in st augustine.

Google
We had an excellent stay here to celebrate an anniversary. Joel was very pleasant during check in and helpful throughout the stay. The room was very clean and well kept, certainly a standout feature in a tourist heavy place like St. Augustine.

Google
What an excellent little hotel, super close to historic downtown St.Augustine (walking distance, for some) with an amazing little Colombian restaurant inside the main entrance. The room I stayed in was well kept and clean. The front desk service was excellent, Peter and Mikel were very helpful and friendly. Keep in mind that this is a very old building with no elevator but it’s a third of the cost of the big chain hotels so if you’re looking for the best bang for your buck you’re in luck with The Ponce.

Google
I was so impressed with this hotel!! Joel checked us in and was lovely. Very spacious and clean room, plenty of towels, amenities (our room even had an ice maker), quiet, comfortable, and super affordable! Would stay again.

Google
Hotel is in a great location, close to everything. It was only a 5 minute drive to the parking garage to go walking around Spanish street. The room was very clean, I loved the ice machine on the counter. On the back side of the hotel are train tracks. It was cool watching the cars go by. Also a beautiful view of the sunset on the backside of the hotel. They have an area where you can even sit and relax. Prices were very reasonable.

Yelp
Yes ! I read the reviews before I booked here. I was here for a business trip and my client and I needed to be mindful of our expenses. So my client stayed down the road at the Renaissance hotel, which is a fabulous hotel and you could read my review About it. And I stayed here at the Ponce hotel. I want to cautiously use the phrase "you get what you pay for" That is true, and that phrase is mostly used as a diminishment or put down of an establishment. In this case you you're trying to maintain a budget and don't want to overpay to sleep when you're not gonna be in your room all day, and so can you still receive great service and great value? Here, YES!! What the staff is able to do with what they have here at the Ponce is very impressive. The service providers at all levels made me feel like I made a great choice while being mindful of my expenses. The front desk host where always courteous and polite. There is chocolate chip cookies. They have out for free for guest as they check in or come back from the evening in the historic district. In the mornings, they have nice, hot, free coffee. The rooms are solid. They aren't the Biltmore, but they aren't any worse from a decent embassy suites, or a nice mid range. Best western. Granite bathroom sinks, stone tile floors. "(Which in humid Florida feel funky to walk on barefoot because everything has humidity on it. And so you feel the dirt you may bring in in your shoes. So to avoid that dirty feeling of the floors, I took off my shoes by the door. And used the bathroom floor towel to clean the area I would walk from bed to bathroom, barefoot. You're welcome to bring your own flip-flops or slippers if that would concern you.) I am 6 foot three and the bad fit me perfectly. I had seen all the reviews where people took pictures of the sheets, so I looked closely when I arrived, and saw no issues of past guest, bodily fluids, hair, or anything else. It was a clean , comfortable enough, big, soft, cozy pillows, and nice large comforter bed. The air conditioning was able to be on all night without sounding like you had a wind tunnel in your room. It was great. The outlets were generous. And the shower pressure was perfect. And they provided different liquid soaps and conditioners. It absolutely does the job for the long weekend traveler, or the business traveler. And the room service ladies also said hello to you with big friendly smiles. I absolutely recommend this hotel, which is just under a mile from the historic district. ‍ Can you walk there from here, yes, you could. It's not a bad or unsafe walk at night, but I wouldn't recommend it because you go through some darker areas, or along the highway. An Uber from the historic District to hear is gonna cost you right about $10. That's what it cost me for four different rides. And the Colombian restaurant that is in the lobby of the hotel is awesome. Been from Los Angeles. We have great diversity of Latin restaurants. This Colombian restaurant was spot on in the great flavors and authenticity of their food. The staff is super friendly. I was served by two young ladies on Friday night, and a very polite and hustling young man on a Sunday morning. Grading their performance based on what I selected them for, a solid five out of five stars for my experience. Thank you Ponce Hotel. Chris www.ChrisTrammellCoaching.com

Yelp
We booked this hotel at the last minute and picked it solely based on its reasonable price. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The rooms were very large and clean and comfortable. They had an icemaker in the room, which is unusual. The mirror was very well lit up for putting make up on. There is a beautiful view of the oyster beds behind us and the location was perfect.

Yelp
This was my Second trip to Saint Augustine, unfortunately this time around it was three days of pouring rain, but I made the best of it. Staying at the Ponce, I had a second floor room, view of the pool and the side parking lot. I don't know if there was an elevator or an escalator, but I did walk up and down the stairs with my luggage. It's a short flight with a turn. The room was just the right size king size bed, small bathroom little table and chair sink with a nice amount of counter space, television, DVD player! And a personal icemaker which I found to be a very nice touch. Had I had the opportunity to lounge by the pool I would've had a nice little ice bucket For my beverages. As for the DVD player, It turns out that I am an avid DVD collector and just so happened to have six titles on hand so this was a pleasant surprise. I don't know if the weather was a factor, but my room was perfectly quiet day and night. I would venture out during the day, come back for a late afternoon Siesta and venture back out at night again pouring rain a lot of streets were flooded, but manageable. one day I spent the majority of the time in the room afternoon and into evening, and not a lick of sound could be heard anywhere. I don't know if the rooms adjoining mine were empty, but I would imagine if the pool was active there may be more activity in front of the rooms. Overall, my only issue was the top door lock in the room was not functional, but I didn't feel that I had anything to worry about. cleaning staff pleasant, friendly front of house staff. Excellent you get a personalized phone call before you check in to verify your check-in, and throughout your day you get text messages, making sure that you are happy. That's a nice touch.

Yelp
Usual go up once or twice a year to St. Augustine. Finding a place to stay whether an Airbnb or an affordable hotel (that's clean) is a bit hard to find up there. For a one night stay, the Ponce hotel was great. The location is perfect as it's close enough to the historic district without being in the middle of it! The rooms were clean and spacious. I think my only concern was how humid it was in the room. I had to crank up the AC a bit in order to be more comfortable. We were in the back towards the train tracks, which I was aware of before booking a room here. However, I only heard it once at night around 9 PM and in the morning at around 9 AM. Really wasn't too loud in my opinion. The coolest part that I didn't get to mess with is that the rooms come with a DVD player. You can essentially borrow DVDs from the display case they have down in the lobby. I thought this was a fun little idea to keep guests entertained in the rooms. There's also the Colombian place within the hotel which was absolutely delicious. I ordered a Ropa Vieja meal for pickup and went downstairs to pick it up and enjoy it in my room. The size of the container was massive with white rice, beans, shredded beef and plantains. Absolutely amazing and super convenient! I would definitely consider staying a night or two here again!

Yelp
A decent enough hotel that has what you need for a quick weekend trip. The hotel is very nice and easy to spot from the road and I love how they have more than enough parking for everyone staying the night. The front desk worker was very pleasant and got us checked in a bit earlier than normal check in time. I do wish he mentioned the "hotel fee" which was about fifteen dollars but I didn't know about it until I was reading a small paper I had to sign. It's not even mentioned on the website. The pool they have to offer is a nice size and very clean but not shaded. There is more than enough seats to be spaced out from other parties though so that's good! The room itself was very clean and the pillows and beds were comfortable but the room we stayed in had a small gap

Yelp
Inside was small like that of a tiny cafe, the side of rice and beans were good. My plate was ok. The tostones were to greasy and airy, chicharron was extra extra crispy I left it there. The arepitas were flavorless and too crunchy. The steak was ok, juicy at times then tough the rest of the way. Chicken was a 10/10. The 3 pieces of sausage were good, wish they put more meat and less of the chicharron and arepas. Yucca fries were rubbery. Chimmichurru 10/10 I don't know if I'll return, service was friendly, but long because our waitress was talking with every other table there that she knew. Total was $33 Now if I want to nitpick we waited a bit to be seated; 1) there is no one waiting to see people coming through. No hostess to be correct 2) 10 min after us a family of 4 came he seemed to know them, he was seated before us. 3) all the tables had the colombian colors of twist ties on the napkins well our didn't they were just a plain ol napkin I don't usually kitpick, but treat everyone equally your first impression should be the best. This place gets 2/5 stars for the rice & beans, chimmichurri sauce and espresso.

Yelp
Thank You Joel for being an awesome Host! Great customer service and greeter. The room was clean, it did have a smell to it ( I'm assuming because of the humidity) , no closet, but other than that we did enjoy the room. The pressure in the shower was low ( I had forgot to mention that). I did love that the hotel was near the down town activities. It was a 13 minute walk for us. I loved the service, I liked the room, it got its job done. I would return to this place for sure due to its location and cleanliness. Oh and thank you Ponce Hotel for the goodie bag we received in the room upon entering. It was so cute

Yelp
Had a great stay here. Joel at the front desk made our stay perfect. Greeted us with a huge smile nad a choice of cookies at check in.Joel also touched base throughout our stay to make sure we were satisfied. Our room had a great view of the river and a nice deck nearby to relax on. The place was clean and the entire staff was friendly. The hotel restaurant is a must do while there, convenient and the food was some of the best we have had. The wait staff was also the best we have had, so friendly and attentive. I believe the waitresses name was Narissa.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Affordable snacks and drinks. Old style hotel, clean and updated room has ample storage, coffee and ice maker. The room for 6 worked well for us it was one adult and 4 teenagers. They loved the large shower.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
This is an old Laquita inn, and you can tell. The temperature has to be under 68 in the room to keep the humidity down, and even then the humidity is still so high that the floors are slippery. The lightshades have the plastic still on them - which is a bizarre choice. Everything feels wet. And I live in Florida - I am used to humidity. Locks are old, just everything is old.

Yelp
If you want to authentic Colombian food this hidden gem is amazing. Everything is fresh and made to order. The service is wonderful with friendly and tentative staff. If you are looking for a delicious fried fish the fried red snapper is enough to feed two maybe even three depending on your appetite.

Mary E.

Yelp
Room was very space and clean, we had 4 people in our room and it was good. Walk to downtown St. Augustine very easy. Check in and check out smooth. Reasonable price for the Holidays

Marian W.

Yelp
The hotel is an older property. We paid a fortune to stay there on a weekend. Disappointed. The room was bare (ironing board on the wall), and just a window curtain that had to be closed so that passersby in the hall corridor could not look in. It was perfectly clean, and a good shower, and location, but the amenities were pathetic. The phone and remote for the TV didn't work. The staff was Ok. There is also no breakfast offered.
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Welcoming staff. Clean rooms. The microwave and mini fridge were handy. Walking distance from downtown. I read reviews about the train behind the building and the beds being firm. I'm a very light sleeper, so I brought a sound machine and requested a room facing away from the tracks. It did not bother me at all. In fact it was very quiet at the hotel. The bed was a little uncomfortable, but not terrible. I brought a twin matress memory foam pad and slept fine. One thing I wish it had was a seperate sheer curtain to let some natural light in while maintaining privacy. Also each bed had white chocolate candies on it, and white chocolate anything happens to be my favorite candy. I know it's just a coincidence, but I meant to thank someone in person. That really started off my weekend right :)
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible. The only reason they are worth 2 stars is the fact that they are pet friendly although they do charge a $50 fee for dogs. I was worried when I booked of how close the hotel was on the map to train tracks but hoped that the train would be far enough away or infrequent. Wrong. Huge, loud freight train runs through at 4:00 & 6:00... am & pm. Should have been given ear plugs as a part of check in. Our room smelled like a wet, dirty dog. Why are you charging more if you are not cleaning properly so I can't SMELL the other dogs that have been there. My husband had to take the air fresheners out of the truck and put them in the room just to make it tolerable. Our sheets were stained. At least I hope they were stains and not just dirty. I felt disgusting being here and will never stay again.

Yelp
This hotel is not getting the credit it deserves. The rooms were extremly clean. My mother is a neat freak and was overwhelmed by happiness when she inspected the little things (toilet) and all was kept iup. Yes the rooms are outdated and could use some new fixtures and maintence, but the overall experience was great. The staff was extremely welcoming and accomodating. Service was prompt. This hotel also has a small Columbian restaurant located in the lobby that is soooo good! The location is right next to the Old Trolly which is convenient to ride through St. Augustine but is also short distances (by car) to the heart of it all. I would definately recommend this hotel.
google avatar

Tiffany F.

Yelp
Great views. Easy access for a bus to take you to the trolley. Great shower. Fridge and microwave. Older hotel. No elevator. Tv sucked, but we weren't in the room much. Worth it on the off season. Train runs behind the hotel twice a night, but not that bad. Ended about 10pm.
google avatar

Jon N.

Yelp
Room was priced well and the noise from the train wasn't an issue at all. My pillows did smell like vomit so that made sleep unpleasant. In hindsight I would have spent more to book a better place.

Melissa H.

Yelp
Yikes ! I booked through bookings , pictures looked wonderful and close to town what could go wrong right ?! Wrong Joel at the desk was super nice , we had to pull around back and it was looking a little rough . We get inside and it was nothing like the online photos. Super dirty and and no working lock from the inside ! Between the spider webs and pubic hair we turned around and left , so disappointed

Yelp
Beware staying in this hotel! First off this is nothing more than a refurbished motel 6. The doors open to either the street or a set of train tracks so neither option is especially quiet. The rooms have been refurbished but not very well. The wall in the room that we were staying in was showing signs of buckling. The last day that we stayed at this establishment, we had gone out for lunch and came back to find that the cleaning staff had made off with personal items from our room. I have attempted to contact the manager on 4 occasions but she refuses to return the phone call. The owners of this establishment might be wise to hire a new manager that is not afraid to confront issues with their staff. I will be filing a police report to ensure this theft is investigated. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
Great hotel for the price. The staff was very friendly the room was spotless and the location is perfect. Only a short walk to the historic district. They have a small deck at the west side of the property to watch the sunset. Very close to restaurants and shopping. No complaints.
google avatar

Jorge R.

Yelp
I will think twice to stay in this hotel , customer service is very poor .. At night very noice , the train run by after I asked front desk for a very peaceful room she gave me the worse room ! On the other hand the restaurant is the best good price and quality Colombian food ..
google avatar

Melinda B.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at The Ponce St. Augustine and was sheets were filthy and phone was broken. We called on our cell phone to see if someone could fix it. The front desk said she'll have someone check it out. No one ever came to see what was wrong. Very unconcerning about their guests. Will not recommend this place to anyone.
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
We stood in this hotel and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel was nice and clean. They have an ice maker in your room. The pool was clean and spacious. They serve breakfast in the morning and they have a mini store with drinks and snacks. Highly recommend this hotel.

Nancy B.

Yelp
Not much to say about this hotel other than it was simply awful. I booked it through Bookings. The lobby where the front desk is located smelled like a mold fest and our room was dirty. I really don't know how this place stays in business. The bath tub spigot was also loose and ready to fall off the wall but fortunately still worked. Lastly, the train tracks located about a 100 ft from our room door was an added "treat". My husband and I started laughing the first time a train went past. By the 5th train, we weren't laughing anymore and were extremely aggravated from continuously being awakened in the middle of the night by the train whistle. You could literally feel the vibration from the passing train while laying in bed. It was ridiculous!

Yelp
Last minute book to get something at St. Augustine. On booking.com it show and king bed , queen bed and pull out couch. That couch is sooooo outdated . I wish i had black light with me . U can probably see a lot stuff u dont wish to see ! That couch experience some crazy stuff over his 15+ years in use . And best part is .. u cant even pull it out. Because the Queen bed is in the way .. so be careful what u wish for !

Yelp
Older but updated hotel. Our room was clean and well appointed. When booking, make sure you get a room on E side of property...freight trains run often on the W side of property. Fortunately, they don't blow the horn. I like trains but..... Don't bother with the restaurant. Plenty of better options nearby. No, really.
google avatar

D R.

Yelp
Some Pros & cons...pro the staff was nice, and the location is perfect for visiting Old Town. Cons- the train tracks are right behind the back parking lot, and I don't know if I'm a light sleeper, but 3-4 times each night I stayed I was awoken by a train surging past in the middle of night. Kinda startles you the first time because it is quite loud. Also, I was located in a room with wall sharing a laundry room, and I could def hear stuff through walls, but that was nothing compared to be awaken by train. There is no closet like one reviewer said, but there is hangers and a rack to hang clothes. I didn't visit pool, but I wish I had. I also heard restaurant downstairs is good, but I also did not go there. The price rate I got was fair, but the train will have me second guessing staying again

Yelp
Someone from the hotel (same number listed on their site) called me at 12:34 AM !!! To confirme a reservation I did cancel 2 weeks ago??!!! very unprofessional!!

Yelp
We have been using the hotels.com app like crazy this vacation so we can score some deals and get a free room. This hotel was not a disappointment. It's a reasonable 1 mile walk from the action of downtown St Augustine. We needed the walk after all the holiday treats we indulged in. The motel was clean with ample parking. The front desk staff was courteous. We originally called before booking but were on hold forever. Upon checking in it was incredibly busy. So much that the hotel manager came out and was taking people to her office to check them in. While in her office she made friendly small talk with many recommendations for dinner and activities. The room was comfy and clean, great sized shower. I loved that we had our own ice maker . There is a restaurant on site and many very close. BUT eat down town.

Erin B.

Yelp
The staff at the first counter was rude, the hotel looks nothing like it does in pictures. There were scuff marks on the walls wires hanging out everywhere. It smelled like somebody smoked in the bedroom. It was disgusting I would not recommend this hotel.
google avatar

Yelp
The Ponce received 4.5 stars based on the following: Cleanliness Location (wasn't right in the center of St. Augustine, but we were able to walk there within 15 minutes) Pool (didn't go in it but it looked well taken care of) The view out back was incredible! Staff: friendly, welcoming Breakfast bites were offered in the lobby area I would stay here again and I recommend it. It's a nice place to stay for a night or the weekend.
google avatar

Marina K.

Yelp
Very "cold" feeling regarding this place. We were traveling back from TN with our kids together with our dog. Yes. It's a pet friendly motel. Not sure how other rooms are looking but what we got was completely different from the pics. It had no carpet and there was only tiles. The beds weren't moving. And the price is ok but next time I'd rather pay a little extra then I'll stay at the motel like this one. The only good side was that their pool area is very nice: nice big pool, jacuzzi, sittings. Nice!
google avatar

Rachael S.

Yelp
The rooms are amazing they have ice machines in the room (what!!) Complimentary face mask cute pillow cases (lol) it's the small things... plus the lobby has a small gift shop and they sell little things that one of the house keepers makes to add extra income to her home Plus there is a beautiful backdrop with a little deck that goes off into the sunset or the sunrise depending on what type of photo you want I would definitely recommend us a hotel for a luxurious stay
google avatar

Yelp
It was a great time for me and my wife. A very nice room a very clean bathroom good enough space and a very decent price. We extended our staying one night more night. The Colombian food was very good. The location was great, close to the historic site, and just a little noisy but not to bad. We intensely recommend this Hotel The Ponce in St.Augustine...!!!

Yelp
Great and affordable place really close to the main historic area in St. Augustine. Located right on the intercostal side, this hotel has continental breakfast and a great patio area facing the waterside. The rooms are average size, but location is everything. I would come back here again for sure.

Wayne W.

Yelp
Pool was so nasty they closed it in the middle of July. Room was old and smelled of mildew. Look at other places it worth the extra money. Never again

Andrea E.

Yelp
1)When we arrived we were advised about there not being an elevator, when we asked for a room on the first floor we were told we were in the "Largest Suite" well I don't know what constitutes a "Suite" we had a room with 2 queen beds, 1 broken desk chair and 1 other random chair. I had the opportunity to see in the windows of MULTIPLE rooms that were empty on the ground level and they were exactly the same with the exception that they had nicer chairs. 2) The tile they used for the TINY bathrooms gets VERY slick, there are not any bars to hold onto to ensure you don't slip 3) All of the towel bars, tissue holders, etc. were barely hanging on due to being installed incorrectly. 3) The AC unit was ridiculously loud 4) They advertise having a restaurant. Its only open certain days, and depending on who you ask the dates/times change. 5) there is only an ice machine on the main level, when we asked where it was the were like "You have one in your room", well we did but it was so loud we didn't run it, and it didn't produce enough ice for 2 people. 6) Their website states they have a business center, well they don't. I had to process payroll for my company...When I inquired about this I was advised that the library is just down the road.

Yelp
I selected this hotel because I thought it was different than the cheap chain motels. Boy was I wrong! No way is this a three star hotel which it claims. This is an obvious an old Motel 6 and should be a 2 star hotel. The pictures are done in way that make it look better and to not show what it really looks like (I should have learned my lesson on this!). While I know Florida is humid, the floors were covered in water by the morning and the tile floor was very slick. The water was literally dripping from the ceiling onto you at night. I had to put a towel down on the floor to dry my feet before getting into bed. Even money that we had laying out was all wet by morning. My relative lives here in this area and she said she has never seen this before. We asked someone else who was staying at the hotel and he said it was that way in his room also and it was due to the A/C. Okay, but we stayed at other places and didn't see this so maybe it is due to the old style A/C here. The restaurant had a happy hour so I was going to have a drink. I sat there at the bar for over ten minutes with various employees walking by me and not one person acknowledged me. I was the only one at the bar! I finally got up and walked out. They also only do breakfast on the weekends. I would never stay at this place again. It is old and run down and cheap. I thought I would pay a little more to stay here compared to some of the lower end chains but nope, beware, it is just the same with no "points" to be earned.

Yelp
This hotel is okay, but definitely not worth the price. It ended up being a bit more expensive then we thought. Pros: Location is great, pet friendly, clean rooms with plenty of space. They provide some essentials and have snacks and drinks in the lobby available for purchase. Cons: THE NOISE. We had a terrible time sleeping with the stomping upstairs, loud voices out in the hallway at 2 am, train going by frequently, the walls are so thin! The breakfast was pretty disappointing and we were given only 2 vouchers for breakfast per room in a double bed room with 4 guests? Doesn't sound like complimentary breakfast for guests to me. The chemical cleaner stench in the room was pretty bad too. If you have to stay here, ask for an upstairs room! Trust me. Otherwise, not a $180/night experience.

Yelp
Everyone that whirled here was nice. The front desk answered all our questions politely and informatively. They are still doing some remodeling constriction in the main lobby along with some rooms. They have a drop off/pick up bench for red train tours in front of the office. They have a purchase store with a drop off/pick up location for old town trolleys next to the hotel. The do have unlimited free dvds for each room. That was an add plus. Military discounts and free wifi in all rooms.

Yelp
This place is something.... we stayed here for a concert and booked with our chase points cost 192.00 umm whaaaaa this place is more like a $63 a night kinda establishment. The room was 3 different colors, they apparently didnt trust us with the iron that goes with the ironing board, whoever installed the Xfinity boxes must have been drunk(picture to follow), our door trapped us in the room twice, and you can here EVERYTHING. We obviously wont be coming back but I gave it 2 stars because the staff was super nice and helpful.

Yelp
Location was great - the river out back is awesome. The pool was fantastic. Our room was clean and the bed was comfy. The hot water was hot and the tv worked. The drunk guy sleeping in the breezeway outside my door was a bit much and the party tramp next door was really loud for a couple hours which clears these walls easily. She was very religious though, she was calling out for God and Jesus at the top of her voice. For what we paid, this is what we get.

Yelp
Stayed at this place due to being in St. Augustine and looking for a pet friendly place. We were just passing through but decided to stay an extra night because we loved the location and the room was comfortable. Not sure why the bad reviews about safety concerns or any of that, yeah there's a train that goes by, but that would be the same for any of the area places?? Place is pet friendly, locations perfect, parkings great, staff is pleasant, food at the on site restaurant decent, and rooms clean. What more could you ask for!! Will definitely stay again.

Yelp
First, know that it's a motel, not hotel. The front desk attendant was helpful and professional. The facilities were clean but outdated. Why have none of the other reviewers mentioned that the toilet is IN the shower?! That was a super weird discovery.

Yelp
We normally choose a Hampton Inn or similar hotel, but in St. Augustine downtown those hotels were really expensive. So we checked out the holiday inn and Days inn then settled on the Ponce. We got a first floor room at the back. Directly behind the hotel is a small patio area for sitting and watching the water. V. Nice. The desk clerk did inform us that a train goes by the back a couple of times a night. This didn't bother us at all. I think because this is a pretty basic two-story motel (no elevator), they try very hard to provide special touches-cookies and cappuccino in the afternoon in the lobby, excellent towels and sheets, a full-size hair dryer, individually wrapped face masks in each room, very nice modern furniture, and extremely clean rooms-all made for a lovely stay. I'd definitely stay here again!

Yelp
This was a pleasant find. Very friendly & helpful staff & very clean! We stayed in the back facing the water & the train did go by a few times during the night & morning but it really was not bothersome. The pool area was wonderfully done. Would definately go back again!!

Yelp
Horrible experience. My newlywed husband and I checked in and were met with rude service from the start. Not only were we denied the room that we reserved, but ended up paying more to be moved to the correct room the next day. On top of that, the room we started out in had a STRANGERS URINE IN THE TOILET. that's right. And when I called the front desk, no attempt to remedy the problem was offered, only "I'll make a note of it." AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS.

Yelp
Such a great place to stay. Room was wicked clean. The bed was so comfortable. Pet friendly, very nice and helpful staff. The Cubano bowl at the restaurant Deleon Latin cucina which is in the hotel is sooooo good!!!! The pool was very clean and a lot of fun! I will be staying again! No complaints! Five stars in my book
