The Pork Pit

I finally got a chance to stop at The Pork Pit in Montego Bay and it lived up to all the hype. The moment I walked in, the smell of pimento wood smoke hit me and I knew I was in for a treat. I ordered the jerk pork with festival on the side, and honestly, it was some of the most tender, flavorful pork I’ve ever had. Perfectly seasoned, smoky, and juicy—it’s the kind of food that makes you slow down and enjoy every bite. The vibe is very casual and down-to-earth. You sit at picnic tables under shade, surrounded by locals and visitors all digging into their meals. It’s not fancy, but it doesn’t need to be—the food speaks for itself. The service was quick and friendly, and the portions were generous for the price. I also tried a bit of the jerk chicken, and it was excellent too, but the pork is definitely the star here. The festival bread was warm and slightly sweet, the perfect partner to balance out the spice. If you’re in Montego Bay and want a real taste of Jamaica, The Pork Pit is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip!

Great charcoal BBQ roadside eatery. We recommend trying it all! Enjoyed the chicken, pork, sausage, roti, rice and peas, sweet plantains, juices and Red Stripe beer. Water views, too.

Best BBQ Pork I’ve ever had! It was tender but had a nice crunch to it. Extremely tasty! Rice & Beans on the side. A definite gem!

Had the jerk pork it was amazing. It was nice and juicy. Rice and peas on done on the ball ! Highly recommended if your in Mobay.

I'm quite disappointed with the situation. They quoted us a rate of $110, despite the current exchange rate being $150. Additionally, I had to wait for the pork to be ready, and they kept saying it would be just 15 minutes, yet it took much longer.

Great open BBQ with pork and chicken on offer in Jamaican style - huge servings so be conservative or you’ll take home a big doggy bag.

if you don't go to Pork Pit, you're doing it wrong. we wanted to try everything - and thankfully I he prices are reasonable enough to be able to get a huge picking of selections. BEST shrimp I've had in my life, ribs literally so buttery tender - true definition of fall off the bone. the rice and green plantain, festival, and chicken were all so good. service was fast and friendly. can't recommend this place enough!

Great view of the sunset/beach on the patio and good vibes outside but the chicken itself was pretty dry and the sides (plantains, bammy, festival were not seasoned at all). Wish we could try the other meats but they were out of everything else
