The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai

My stay at The Portman Ritz-Carlton was nothing short of superb. I was immediately struck by the warm ambiance and the exceptional courtesy of the staff. The lunch buffet was a delightful discovery, offering a generous and diverse array of dishes. I also appreciated the prompt in-room coffee service. The well-equipped gym and serene pool provided a perfect sanctuary for relaxation. Furthermore, the hotel's central location in Jing'an was ideal for both my business transportation and evening engagements. A special note of gratitude must go to Rachel from Guest Recognition, whose outstanding support and superb dining recommendations truly elevated my experience.

The hotel may not be brand new, but you can tell they’ve put real effort into keeping things fresh and comfortable. ||The renovations and updates are thoughtful, and overall, the place still feels well-maintained. What really made the stay memorable, though, was the service. ||I have to give a special shoutout to Yoki at the Club Lounge—she was fantastic. Always cheerful, always helpful, and her sweet smile. She handled everything quickly and smoothly, and her warm, enthusiastic attitude made a big difference. Yoki truly went above and beyond, and I think she deserves special recognition.||Also, the location is super convenient—easy access to everything I needed.||Btw its not AI, it cause so many trouble that TripAdvisor always block comments. I advise tripadvisor dont waste our time on this.

I stayed 9 nights for business. Excellent breakfast, nice but simple rooms. The standout is the service. The concierge books train tickets, gives great recommendations and seems to be there 24/7. Room service was easy and reasonable. Indoor pool was a bit cold but the sauna/ steam/ hot cold tubs in the locker room were great! Gym is very nice too and always open. Location is in the middle of luxury shopping and very walkable to sites.

I highly recommend this hotel. The location at Nanjing West Road is ideal to start your city trip, the hotel room itself is spacious and clean. For breakfast you can have anything your heart and soul craves… 💖 All the staff are amazing and kind, service is immaculate. Right next to the hotel you can find a lot of different restaurants and a small supermarket that has a lot of imported food and drinks. I would stay there again if I could! 🥰

This is one of the best hotels for tourists in Shanghai. The location is wonderful, with a lot of shopping malls, restaurants walking path. The nearest metro station is 5 min walk. The metro has English sign everywhere. We took the help of the hotel staff to know the train line no, entry and exit gate no, travelling in metro was very easy. Our room on the 33rd floor had excellent view of the surroundings. The service is excellent, one of best in the world. Very polite and helpful staff everywhere. Breakfast was very nice, great for no-meat eaters. Very happy to stay at Portman Ritz-Carlton, would love to return to this hotel.

Marriott Hotels are a good bet. The service is great, location is near there office. There's a great Michelin Bid Gourmet restaurant just downstairs. I've been there twice already on the first day. I was upgraded to this executive room I think. There's a bath tub desk single sofa, huge TV and plenty of space in the room.

What an excellent hotel in Shanghai. My stay at The Portman Ritz-Carlton was superb. The staff were exceptionally polite, the lunch buffet was generous and delicious, and the tranquil pool and gym were ideal for relaxing. The Jing'an location was perfect. This is the second time my wife and I stayed at this hotel in this year. We love this hotel as it is located in the centre of Shanghai and it is so convenient to everywhere. Hotel building and facilities are well maintained and staff are friendly. Niko in the front office is so nice and he helped us to check in quickly. Instead of showing where the lifts are, he guided us to the lifts from front desk. He is so nice. Thank you
