I booked two rooms at the same time for myself and a friend, under the same confirmation number — clearly one single reservation. In any properly managed five-star hotel, guests with linked bookings should be placed on the same floor whenever possible. However, a male staff member at the front desk — seemingly a junior supervisor — assigned us rooms on different floors and responded to my request for adjustment with a cold and dismissive attitude. When I showed the Ctrip confirmation proving that both rooms were booked together, he simply said, “We don’t care. For us, these are two separate bookings. There are no rooms.” No willingness to assist, no attempt to check, and no basic customer service. What’s worse, after I contacted Ctrip for help and this “supervisor” happened to step away, the front desk lady rechecked and immediately arranged two rooms on the same floor, right next to each other. Clearly, the hotel did have rooms available — the issue was that the supervisor refused to provide service. All of us were shocked. This was a simple request that any five-star hotel should handle easily, yet the rude and uncooperative attitude turned it into an unpleasant and unnecessary experience. To be honest, the facilities are already a bit outdated; we chose this hotel again only for convenience. After this incident, we will definitely think twice before returning. To be fair, I would like to compliment one staff member: the new gentleman who helped us during check-out. He was professional, friendly, processed our check-out efficiently, and even escorted us to the entrance to help get a taxi. Employees like him are the reason I am still willing to acknowledge the positives honestly.
