This has been such an amazing trip. Sometimes you just have to do you all by yourself to get clarity to free your mind and this was a well deserved trip. Samantha made check in easy and smooth. I was able to get what I wanted from Baleen restaurant the way I wanted it. It took maybe 22 minutes to get my. The Sea-bass was cooked to perfection, a hint of crispy and moist. I got a complementary extended stay this place exceeds all expectations coming in. It’s just so beautiful here so serene. Thank you to the entire staff there all amazing every last one of them. Shout out to my Psychic 🙂 Kimberly for letting me know I would have an amazing time here.

This is a hidden gem in SoCal! We loved our 1-bedroom suite with a dual-space fireplace, huge bathroom with a retro bathtub & a large balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We also had 2 days of sunny, clear skies to add to the relaxing experience for a milestone we were celebrating. The breakfast at Baleen & esp. the blueberry muffins were super delicious. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway.

Our stay at the Portofino Hotel & Marina was fantastic. The location right on the Redondo Beach harbor made our trip feel peaceful and scenic. We loved waking up to the view of sailboats and even heard the sea lions in the evening—it added to the charm. The room was clean, modern, and had a cozy balcony where we enjoyed morning coffee. The staff members were incredibly friendly and attentive; they even offered medicine when my wife needed it in the morning, which helped her feel better and made us feel truly cared for. Overall, we’d definitely recommend the Portofino to anyone looking for a relaxing waterfront escape.

Had an amazing stay. Super cool story and history around the place if you’re into car culture and know the Cannonball run. |Enjoy a great dinner or breakfast the Baleen and a cocktail by the fire at the living room bar. Samantha, Carson, and Shawnta were all fantastic. Mac and John had us ready to go anytime we needed to go drive somewhere. Thanks to John for recommending we grab rent some bikes and go for a ride on the strand. ||Great staff, great food, and great atmosphere.

My husband and I saw a the Portofino Hotel & Marina Hotel advertised on TikTok and thought it would be a special place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel is on the ocean with scenic room views. The service was exemplary from the moment we pulled up to Valet parking. Once we entered inside the hotel entrance the decor was stunning and very welcoming. Front Desk service was kind, professional and respectful. They were so happy we chose to celebrate our anniversary on the property. Upon entering our room suite the views were breathtaking. Fireplaces, refrigerator and microwave along with a huge bathroom with a bear claw tub and separate room of stand up shower with two shower heads on each end. Just lovely! We had the most amazing stay and highly recommend it for lovers celebrating special occasions. 100/100. A special thanks to the General Manager, Drew Berry for all the special surprises in making our anniversary special. Chelsea Walsh, thanks for coordinating and implementing our special treats. We will remember the Portofino Hotel forever.

Google
I had NO idea this cute little marvel existed! I absolutely loved this amazing hotel. The rooms are quaint and the views are amazing. I loved every moment of it. The atmosphere was so delightful that I felt more like I had entered a bed and breakfast in England somewhere rather than a hotel just outside of L.A. The sealions were so fun to listen to and watch outside of my lenai and the seagulls made for a lovely soundtrack to my afternoon tea.

Google
We have had a really nice, relaxing stay. We came out to LA for my sister’s baby shower and decided to also celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary by staying here. We had originally booked at the Shade and had a sudden change of heart. We are so happy with our choice. The staff went out of their way to take care of us for our anniversary. We ordered breakfast in bed on Friday morning and the food arrived promptly. It was delicious. Totally worth it. The beds are very comfortable (we are snobs when it comes to hotel beds.. their bed exceeded our expectation). The ocean view room was incredible with boats sailing by. We are very sad to leave tomorrow and can’t wait to come back in the future.

Google
My room was very nice and had an awesome view! The bed was super comfortable. I was there during a full moon, the reflection on the water was beautiful. The "living room" is very spacious, a nice place to have a drink and visit with friends and other guests. The staff is super helpful and friendly. There is access to biking, kayaking and paddle boarding. Walk around the harbor and look for seals, garibaldi and stingrays.

Yelp
My wife and I got married here and were treated with kindness and respect. We were super stressed out before the wedding but once everything started unfolding we calmed down, these people are pros and took care of everything for us. We had such a good time that we come back to the restaurant every year for our anniversary. Looking forward to being back this year!

Yelp
Booked ocean view at a premium price. What we got was a view of a concrete wall, first floor view. Maybe from second floor you can see the ocean over the wall and the breaker. But to suggest there's any way to see the ocean is false advertising. I brought this up to the front desk who didn't seem to care at all. Update: The manager, Craig was much nicer. He provided a credit for the mistake of not getting the room we booked with a "Premium Ocean View". On the third of three nights we were moved to an upper floor much nicer room with the amazing views we had hoped for and reserved!

Yelp
I rarely write reviews, but the experience my family had with the Portofino Hotel was unacceptable, cruel, and reeks of internal mismanagement. We never even stayed at the hotel -- and thank goodness for that. We were unable to check in due to an emergency involving my disabled mother, and I contacted Chelsea, the manager, in good faith to explain the situation and seek a refund or credit. She was empathetic and professional at the time. When I followed up in person, I was met with an apology and a handshake. It seemed the hotel was owning the mistake and doing the right thing. But clearly, that was just an act. Thankfully we were able to book on July 4th at The Shade in Redondo Beach to enjoy fireworks. Later, my wife contacted for a second time & bluntly was told by Gregory and Craig that we would not be receiving a refund -- directly contradicting the tone and message of earlier conversations. No explanation, no empathy, just a flat-out reversal. Not only did they give the room away, but they kept our money without delivering any service, even after being told we had a legitimate, urgent reason for not showing. This isn't just poor customer service -- it's predatory and dishonest. The left hand clearly doesn't know what the right is doing, and the hotel leadership has shown zero integrity in resolving this. To be strung along with polite smiles and handshakes only to be blindsided later is infuriating. Only when she called Expedia, escalated things today which is over 32 days later did the agent get funds released. For longtime residents of Hermosa Beach, it just created such angst with my severely pregnant wife & myself that at least people deserve to know. This experience left us feeling deceived and insulted. We're still seeking resolution, but based on this behavior, I would caution anyone booking with Portofino Hotel: be prepared to be treated as disposable once they have your money. Absolutely disgraceful.

Yelp
We loved this hotel and would definitely come back if in the area again! The lobby is very cute and the beds were very cozy. I loved the view from our ocean facing room. The only reason this is getting 4 stars is the pool area reminds me of a motel pool and I was expecting something a lot nicer and more comparable to the rest of the hotel. Dog friendly which is a plus, and the hotel breakfast restaurant is great
google avatar

Yelp
Stayed here for a night and the view was worth the stay! It's a cozy, hip, water front hotel that has been renovated while maintaining the 70s charm of a beach town hotel. The king size bed was comfortable and looked out to the ocean view...not a bad way to wake up! The staff were great too! From restaurant recommendations to making sure our stay was comfortable...they did a great job!

Yelp
We loved it! Best family Labor Day trip we have had. Beautiful property within walking distance to Seaside Lagoon for our son (5 year old). Seaside lagoon is great for little kids playing in the ocean in a protected cove, w fountains and waterslides. Sand beach. Didn't break the bank but was upscale, clean, great service. Suite was beautiful and our son could watch the sea lions frm our balcony. We took out the glass bottom boat to see all the fish. Sooo much fun! Great restaurant on property and good options off.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is on ocean side and Marina. We opened our patio door and the ocean was right there. The beds were pretty comfortable and the rooms are clean. What we also really enjoyed was the restaurant. The only thing that was lacking was the pool area. This was disappointing.

Yelp
This is a historic and iconic hotel right on the marina. It is quaint and well preserved. The rooms have been updated and are very well up-kept. The fitness center is quite small, but does the trick. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Raymond F.

Yelp
The room was decent and is your standard hotel room. Nothing that was great but nothing that was bad from first appearances of the room. The low rating for the hotel on this trip is due to the fact that in the morning, my wife and I woke up to our toilet and bathtub, filled with sewage water from the rooms above us. It had also spilled out onto the floor. We discovered this when my wife went to use the bathroom this morning and was curious why her feet were wet and then got very grossed out. We called the front desk, informed them of the issue and they said that they will have maintenance work on it. The hotel could have done better was to actually have somebody come to our room and talk to us, but that never occurred. After not hearing anything. I had to go to the front desk and speak to the staff myself which put me in a less than desirable mood. They gave us another room so we could get cleaned up as we were checking out however, when we went to that room, there was hotel staff working in that room and saying we could not use that room. We went back to the front desk, all other rooms were filled and so we had no other choices my wife changed in the gym and then we left. The staff was apologetic and compensated us for the valet, some food charges and our resort fee, but could not refund us for the room as I used a 3rd party website. I contacted the 3rd party website, and they called the hotel which rejected the refund because they gave me another room to use, even though I could not use it. So because I paid over $400+ to step in sewage water and not be able to shower, that is why I am giving this place a 1 star. If you like sewage water, this is the place for you.

Yelp
Both Gregory and Chealsea went above and beyond. We were down there for a surgery and there were some small complications that forced us to stay in the area. They were accommodating and went out of there way to help out. The restaurant on site was my daily and lived up to my expectations. We will be returning. Management and the front desk were on point. The rooms had a high end Cape Cod feel.Views on the second floor were amazing. All of this made being unable to leave actually an enjoyable experience. Thank you again

Yelp
Love the Portofino! Luxury accommodations that are worth the price. This is the only hotel in town and prob all of LA where you can enjoy a true ocean view from your room's balcony. The balconies extend out to the ocean and so it's a truly unique experience. It's expensive to book an oceanfront room vs the Marina side but worth it if you can spare the expense. Or if you're lucky enough and you've booked directly through the hotel you MIGHT get your suite upgraded to the ocean side, which I had happen the first time I stayed here! The rooms are beautiful and picturesque inside (great for wedding getting ready photos), and the in hotel restaurant (Baleen Kitchen) is pretty tasty for breakfast or dinner with nice service: There is also a nice lobby bar downstairs with live music and a gorgeous fireplace. Tip: look through the packages offered on their site to get a better value that includes the parking and/or resort fees covered.

Yelp
Book a stay here using my Amex platinum benefit. No complaints about the stay since the front desk service was fantastic. The rooms are well kept. I would say it's definitely around a 4 star establishment which is very good. I had a 5 star experience so that's what I'm going with.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
My husband and I recently stayed at The Portofino Hotel. We stay often as our kids and grand kids live in the Southbay and we live out in Indian Wells. The front desk folks are always friendly and accommodating- they really could not be any kinder. Baleen's restaurant is convenient and has some very good dishes- I personally love the hamburger . Also, their bar does a nice pour. The rooms are nicely appointed and the views are unmatched.....we plan on returning soon. I want to mention the valets as well.... could not be more accommodating!

Yelp
This is a surprisingly beautiful hotel in the Redondo Beach area. While the outside gives slight motel vibes, the inside of the rooms are definitely 4 star quality and the lobby is beyond luxurious. We stayed here for two days in August and we loved the classy coastal town decor, comfortable furnishings, and spacious floor plan of our room. We also loved the restaurant that is attached to the hotel, the food was top notch and very high quality. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the Redondo region.

Yelp
Portofino is an amazing property right on the water in Redondo's beautiful marina. Always great food at Baleen, solid happy hour and amazing views from the rooms. Kudos to Drew for my friends amazing 40th bday and always making the stay amazing!

Yelp
Beautiful views, great service, and clean! I honestly wish I've discovered The Portofino Hotel & Marina sooner! After endless searching online trying to find the perfect little getaway for my fiancée and I. The whole staff was very friendly and helpful. And I'd like to give a special thank you to our awesome Bartender Alex! All the drinks were on point and he stayed a little later for us to make our experience more special! We will be back!

Yelp
We had our cocktail hour and wedding reception at the Portofino Hotel & Marina. There was quite a bit of staff turnover throughout the months during our planning process and we were nervous when our initial catering manager left, but we were so grateful to have Rain who took over as our catering manager and did an excellent job with our wedding reception! Rain stepped in seamlessly and was wonderful to work with. He took the time to understand our vision and provided suggestions to enhance our reception. His professionalism was evident in every interaction, which gave us great peace of mind during the planning process. Rain helped us create special details, like our signature drinks, and included thoughtful touches that really made our wedding day feel extra special. Thank you Rain!! We received numerous compliments from our guests about the delicious food and impeccable service. The venue itself is stunning and we couldn't have picked a better reception location. I literally gasped when I walked into the ballroom and saw it all come together with the white linens, the gold chivari chairs, the white dance floor, the blue ocean and sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows. It was even more breathtaking as the sun was setting. Our reception was more beautiful than we could have imagined and I'm so glad we chose the Portofino!

Yelp
Writing about my amazing experience with Brandon! Check in was easy and quick. He was so kind, informative and made my party feel so "at home" I appreciate his welcoming spirit, great customer service and would definitely recommend others to come here if he's working!

Yelp
Fantastic location... Super friendly staff from the valet service to the front desk to dining. Great room and amazing view. We will definitely go back.

Yelp
The Portofino Inn at Redondo Beach/ Kings Harbor is a great beach location in the South Bay, LA area. Seafood at the fishing pier.. rooms with an ocean view, pool and restaurants near by. We like the rooms with the jacuzzi tubs and balcony. Order room service in and enjoy summer vibes!

Edgar S.

Yelp
Never even got an email for the mosquitos situation That's a bad situation for a $400 dollars a night room

Albert M.

Yelp
Very amazing place !! Love the view from this hotel Right off the shore ! Shawnta' was amazing from the front desk helped me check in very quickly and made it so easy. Definitely recommend this place ! Will be going back soon.
google avatar

Ruthie S.

Yelp
This will be my second post about this place. My dog and and I took a late night stroll. We got back and Brandon was awesome and informative about the lighthouse I asked about. I see this kid (sorry) going places. Respectful, courteous, gracious and overall, great personality.
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
Pros- The view from the lobby is very nice. It's in a beautiful location. We loved that our room had a balcony. The hotel room was spacious and comfy. Even the bathroom was spacious. Cons- The walls definitely need sound proofing, we could hear everything going on around and above us. At all hours of the day and night. The in room coffee could have been better. It would have been nice to have enough for both days. Housekeeping does not come during your stay. I did not appreciate that part. Part of the reason I enjoy staying in hotels verses and Airbnb is the housekeeping. I consider it a luxury that is included with the room rental.
google avatar

Randal M.

Yelp
Portofino Bar and Lounge is an amazing gem for date night in the South Bay. The experience was amazing and the service was great. We were greeted by who I believe is the manager Bart. He was very welcoming and accommodating. Would totally recommend this to anyone in the area to checkout. Definitely be going back.

Yelp
All things considered (view, staff, rooms, bed, tp, & layout ) this place was a 5 stars.... Technically maybe more of a 4 star when compared to hotels everywhere but when compared to hotels in the area and the price paid... this was hands down a near perfect experience One way to always know where a hotel stands on the little things is look at the tp- they had angel soft which isn't cheap and they care about guests private parts and having a smooth experience The ocean view rooms were amazing and the layouts were a little different with the 2 we had. Still awesome !

Yelp
First let me say, for work and for visiting family and travel, we stay in A LOT of hotels-- 3 different ones just this week. We understand the pitfalls and the little delights of a hotel stay and our expectations are fair. I really wanted to love the Portofino Hotel but we were using the hotel as a place to sleep and sleeping in the hotel was difficult; it was such a disappointment. When we walked into the room it was very stuffy. We turned on the air, left for a couple of hours to return to a still stuffy room. We opened the sliding door to the balcony (lovely) and the window. The window didn't have a screen. The weather was perfect for sleeping so we decided to sleep with the window and sliding door open. Our room was across from the marina (lovely) meaning it is also above the parking lot and across from a building with bright lights so the curtains needed to be closed. I got nervous about sleeping with the screenless open window, so we shut that. Then it was loud in the parking lot so we shut the sliding door. Then the room was uncomfortably warm and stale and the air conditioner was not keeping up. We called the front desk for a fan (usually available and usually a good solution). They didn't have fans but they offered some tips on getting the air conditioner fan to stay on-- they readily offered this advice leading us to believe we were not the first to have this issue. If our stay in Redondo Beach was longer, I would move hotels or purchase a fan. The coffee in the lobby is a $4 charge-- free coffee is one of those little delights missing at the Portofino. The day before and the day of check-in we were bombarded with texts asking when we were checking in when we replied 2:00pm, they replied check-in was after 4pm-- so why did they ask?? There were also texts about all the amenities we could enjoy before 4pm. We got the message not to show up before 4:00pm. All that being said, I enjoyed the room decor and the balcony is lovely even over the parking lot with the walk-by smokers and the $4 coffee is hot.

Yelp
Stop the Cap! This place is awesome! I'm biased because I was upgraded to a one bedroom suite for my birthday. Now I can't imagine this happens to everyone but I'll share what I did and it may help you're experience. I booked with the hotel direct. I mentioned it was my birthday and I wanted to see the sunset. I originally had beach side 1st floor. I can't imagine it would of been the same thing. Someone in the background was looking out for me because they made it happen. Ashley, who made the reservation, was helpful and patient as was all the staff I encountered. You need to be on the beach side on either the 2nd or 3rd floor. It's all about the sunset. Now would not be the time to save. If you're going to do it, do it right! The room was incredible.

Yelp
Charged for meals not receive, front desk staff confused and wrong numerous times throughout our stay! Nice facility but poor manage. Will never stay there again!
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
We attended a wedding here Sunday evening and we truly loved our stay. Valet parking was swift and efficient. Our room was not ready by 4pm so they gave us an upgraded room...more like a mini-suite. Beautiful view of the water and room, while not huge, was wonderfully modern and comfortable. The wedding venue was gorgeous and the sunset timing was perfect. Great food and setting inside their ballroom. The restaurant was also excellent for breakfast Monday morning. While there was a coffee maker in the room, they did not have coffee, drinks, snacks anywhere in the hotel other than the restaurant. Wi-Fi was fast enough, comfy bed, nice bathroom and the staff was super courteous.

Yelp
Direct waterfront location with beautiful sunsets and views of sea lions . I was here for a wedding and stayed at the hotel for 4 nites. Housekeeping skipped my room for 3 straight days until I called the front desk twice on the third day . Mosquitos were a problem. Bed and pillows are flat and uncomfortable . $40 a nite resort fee and all you get for was really weak WiFi . Another $40 a nite for parking . There are better options out there .

Yelp
I loved this hotel and the amazing service! We got here pretty late at night and there wasn't much parking, so we valeted and it was much easier. We had a double queen room the first night and it was a little cramped but still had a great balcony & view. The hotel lobby is very modern and beautiful. They have complimentary water and a bar as well as beautiful floor to ceiling mirror wall! The halls and room have antique vibes. The next day we switched to a suite for the remainder of our stay and it was definitely worth it! Very spacious, beautiful and modern with two rooms, kind size bed pull out couch, two balconies, claw foot bathtub, separate shower and toilet room along with two vanities, televisions and fireplace! We had the best view from our balcony and even saw dolphins! It was a total upgrade, and reasonably priced at considering the last minute notice! We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi! The hotel also has gym, bar, and separate restaurant that also is used for room service! The restaurant is a little expensive but definitely worth it! I had the best fresh squeezed orange juice in my life here! The staff was also very helpful, attentive, accommodating & kind. Leilani at the front desk helped us switch our rooms with ease and even sent use a beautiful bottle of champagne. This is 5 star service. I only give it 4 stars considering our suite was so much better than our first room. The non suites could use a little updating. Definitely stay here or try the restaurant it's worth every penny!

Yelp
Where do I begin?!! The Portofino Hotel & Marina was INCREDIBLE!!!!!! We booked this venue for our wedding . From day one all the way to today, a few days after the wedding, all the staff we encountered has been excellent!! Specifically I want to give a shout out to Sierra, Rain, Luis, Paco, & Mac & Melanie. Sierra was my main hotel wedding coordinator and contact. She was so responsive, attentive, organized, sweet, available, and amazing!! I couldn't be happier with her and her services. The entire experience was seamless. We planned an entire wedding in under 2 months together as I was eager to marry my man this year. She was so helpful and explained any and all things when I had questions. Starting with booking the venue all the way to the day after the wedding. Everything was so organized, including the deadlines of decisions I needed to make, and payment info, and what to do if it rained (which it didnt! phew!). She had everything covered and made my life so easy. THANK YOU THANK YOU SIERRA!! Rain was also another venue coordinator & catering sales manager who helped us too and he was amazing as well. He stepped in when/if Sierra was out of the office and he attended our tasting and answered so many questions as well. He was so nice, sweet and great to work with. Very organized and never missed a beat! Thank you Rain!! Luis, the director of Banquets, handled anything food and drink related and everything was perfect. He even placed two of each hors d'oeuvres at our sweetheart table (knowing we probably wouldn't get a chance to eat them during cocktail hour as we were busy mingling) and he was right!! It was such a sweet, simple gesture that made a big impression on us. Paco was one of the Bartenders from the day of (I never got a chance to meet our other bartender) and he was so fun and cheerful and positive and an overall great spirit. Guests kept telling me how much they loved Paco and me too! Mac worked on the hotel side and we met him when we checked in and he handled ALL our luggage and he also golf carted me around on the actual wedding day so I didn't have to walk too much. He was super sweet and was so helpful and had a great vibe! Also, my initial point of contact was Melanie who responded to my initial venue request. She was so great and helpful and responsive that right away we were sold and we booked the venue the next day without ever even seeing it in person. On top of all the AMAZING staff, the venue is just absolutely beautiful!! You can't find a prettier ocean front venue in the So Cal. Just gorgeous. We chose a type of all-inclusive wedding package that included a sit down 3-course dinner, open bar, ceremony, hotel room, wedding cake, and many more perks such as white linen, candles on each table, arch on the ceremony grass, champagne toast, etc. It was perfect, efficient, organized and made my life so easy. I really didn't have to do much except invite guests and show up!! many of my guests told me afterward they were so impressed with the staff, venue and the food!!! Seriously, the food was excellent. I know all of this sounds too good to be true but honestly it was. I had zero problems, no horror stories, nothing. It truly was a PERFECT day. I also found out afterward that a coworker of mine got married here too this past summer and she said the same thing. Her day was perfect as well and I am not surprised at all. Thank you to everyone at the Portofino! We cant wait to come back just to enjoy the restaurant, the views and the excellent service

Yelp
Absolutely loved this hotel! My family and I stayed here for a whole week and were made to feel like family! The staff and the valet staff were very welcoming and made sure we always had what we needed and attended to us with warm open arms and helpful hands. The view from our room was absolutely beautiful and the seals that love to hang out along the edge were an absolute favorite for my 1 year old :) we couldn't have asked for a better stay and would like to thank everyone there for making us feel so welcomed at their property!

Aireyana J.

Yelp
Special shout out to Alex at the bar. He created new drinks for us using Cognac, which they didn't have any on the menu but now should definitely add it thanks to ALEX!

Mitchell S.

Yelp
Alex's drink (Camomile sour) new to the menu! Slurped this down! 5 would come again for this.

Yelp
The location of The Portofino can NOT be beat! The marina with the boats can be seen from the hotel as well as the Baleen Kitchen. The ocean front property is gorgeous. The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout. The lobby is fabulous with ocean views, a bar, and a fireplace. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The organic products in the bathroom and robes were a nice touch. The receptionist was very warm and welcoming. We had dinner at the Baleen Kitchen and it was really tasty! I'd highly recommend staying at The Portifino.

Yelp
We have stayed at the Portofino Hotel & Marina a few times now. We have always felt relaxed and pampered but this visit was somehow different. For the price of an upgraded room here, we would expect more than one washcloth and one hand towel. We did request a few extras but those extras were never received. We did have a bath towel each but my fiancé was struggling with back pain and we had no extra towels to wrap an ice pack. We also had a motion light that came on several times throughout the night. We got up each time to shut it back off. We told the front desk but the issue continued. If you do choose to stay here, please be prepared. The sea lions on the Oceanside rooms are loud and bark throughout the night. Not at all Portifinos fault but unless you are a heavy sleeper, you're going to need to close the windows, which takes away for the Oceanside experience. On the flip side, we were met each day by various members of the valet staff. Each was very pleasant but a very special shout out to Yurelli. She had an incredible smile, was incredibly kind and provided guidance for us in answers to our many questions. She's a wonderful asset to Portofino.

Yelp
I visited Baleen Restaurant at the Portofino Inn in Redondo Beach for the first time in a couple of years and Wow!!! I ordered a fantastic salad with a Green Goddess dressing. It had beets and fennel and sweet little crunchy things and it was clearly made with very fresh farmers market ingredients. The baby tomatoes were the highlight. And then a side of ,and I am not kidding, THE BEST fries I have EVER had. I am already looking forward to come eat this salad and order these fries again. and I topped it all off with some chocolate gelato from heaven!!! I have to add that I ordered a Mojito And seriously one of the best Mojitos I've ever had Meanwhile classic rock playing on the speaker system. I was so happy So I highly recommend the experience that Baleen. mellow and perfect PS my server was a really cool young man with a cool name, Trigve

Yelp
I just had a wonderful stay at this fantastic and tastefully decorated hotel! The hotel is located in a quiet part of the Marina, very close to a many things to do and good places to eat. My wife and I did the bike ride along the beach. I highly recommend The Portifino. Also, booking the Oceanside room was worth it!

Yelp
A couple months ago we had the opportunity to attend a wedding at the Portofino Hotel and we did not stay at the hotel so this review is for the banquet facilities and the food. Located in Redondo Beach Marina on the channel just inside the breakwater, so there is a view obstructed view of the ocean horizon. Nonetheless, the sunset is still really nice. Part of the reception at sunset was held in a grassy are just outside the banquet hall. The bar was set up right outside the front of the hall. The wedding was about 200 people so the one bar two lines were constantly busy. The bartenders were not personable but efficient. The banquet hall itself is "L" shaped but fit the 200 guests nicely with a large dance floor. The food was better than average. My salad with a raspberry vinaigrette was dressed nicely. The beef filet was excellent, the side veggies and potatoes were meh. The hor' dorves served were simplistic, cheese, charcuterie, and bruschetta. Service was good. The parking lot just outside the banquet hall is not large enough to park all of the guest cars without a Valet.

Yelp
Absolutely loved our little getaway here. We had a room overlooking the Oceanside. So much activity with the boats, kayak races in the morning, dolphins and sea lions. The hotel and rooms are lovely! We had breakfast at their on site restaurant Baleen. The smoked salmon bagel and goat cheese soft scramble were phenomenal. The Redondo Pier is within walking distance, it's so quaint with great restaurants. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Worth the price--this hotel is by far, the BEST HOTEL in the area! I've stayed here 4 times and will always go back. I am 100% bonafide PORTOFINO HOTEL & MARINA!

Yelp
Average at best. Expected more from a Nobel House property. They normally have flawless customer service, this was nowhere close. Disappointing stay.

Yelp
My husband and I cannot recommend this venue and staff more highly to any other future couples planning a wedding. We were one of the "covid couples" who had a date planned for April 2020. The Portofino staff graciously worked through multiple date changes and continued to work with us with guest count changes the week of the wedding on 10/25/21 due to covid exposures and ongoing guest cancellations. Thank you to Rain, Sheena and especially Chris, the sales director, for your professionalism and hand holding while we were at our wits end. You and your staff provided the wedding of our dreams and all of our guests had an amazing time

Yelp
This a a cozy yet modern hotel that is close to lots of popular beaches in the LA area. We've stayed here a few times now and Chelsea at the front desk always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Thanks Chelsea! Also want to give a shout out to Ben for help with our bike rental. Last but not least, the restaurant here (Baleeen Kitchen) is a hidden gem. The scallops, California burrito, and Swordfish are some of our favorites. If you are looking for a nice hotel to stay that is clean, safe and close to Hermosa, Manhattan, and Redondo beach, this is a great fit!

Yelp
This is a large hotel nestled on a strip between the sea wall and marina. Beautiful views of the ocean or harbor, clean common areas and attentive staff. The hot tub was broken which was disappointing but the location is stellar. The restaurant is across the parking lot from this older but well maintained property. Short walk to either Hermosa or Redondo beaches. Whole Foods is a 14 minute walk away. Well appointed rooms with comfortable beds.

Yelp
4 stars for location, ambiance, friendly service, and comfy bed. I stayed here for a conference and was reserved a jacuzzi suite. There's ton of room and the king size bed was extra comfy. The nautical and beachy design was totally cute and every room has a balcony. I had the view of the lagoon overlooking the city. The only downfall was the non stop seagull and sea lion howling. They provide earplugs due to this. Otherwise, the grounds were ok, everything in the room (mini bottle of wine, Evian water, stuffed toy, mini bar, and snacks) come with a stiff price. Don't do it!!! Self parking was $28 er day, valet is available. Baleen kitchen food was just ok. Their conference center was good with a weird L shape configuration looking out the water and the city view. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area!

Yelp
We enjoyed a one night staycation at the hotel. We stayed in a suite looking over the water. It was beautiful, the room was very clean and well decorated, comfy bed. We took a boat out from the marina across the street which was so pleasant and relaxing. We didn't have to drive any where. The front desk was nice and helpful, we would definitely book again!
