Great cosy stop in Westerway. We had hot chocolate, scones with cream & jam, a brownie and a strawberry milkshake – all delicious and homemade. Warm, friendly atmosphere and super charming interior. Perfect break on the road.

A charming little cafe by the river. The owners are very lovely people. The place is clean, nice quiet music, cute decor. The beef lasagna was tasty, very generous in size and my soy chai latte was nice and creamy. If you are on your way to do hiking at Mt Field, do stop by at this place and you will love it, I did, I enjoyed everything here.

This picturesque gem is an essential stop. The staff were very friendly and helped us look for Flossy, the resident platypus. We only had the scones, but they definitely brought back memories of homemade scones. It's a great place to kick back, relax, and watch the river. Sidenote: you have ruined scones for my parents in law from china. Those were the first scones they had ever eaten and now everywhere we stop for scones we have to listen to them complain about how the other scones are not as good as yours :)

Food was delicious, atmosphere was great - even the bathroom had a nice vibe. Right on the river. Staff were very good. I had the beef burger, hot chocolate and scones. Was starving after days of hiking and this was delicious and filling.

This little place is a roadside gem and very well worth stopping to enjoy. The Possum Shed BLT was huge and packed with fresh fillings and the iced coffee was excellent. We also enjoyed all the gluten free options available.

Absolutely loved Possum Shed Cafe. The riverside dining is genuinely special. Sitting by the water makes the whole experience feel calm and a bit magical. The food was delicious, clearly made with care, and the coffee was excellent. What really stood out though were the people. Everyone was smiling, welcoming, and clearly proud of what they do, which makes a huge difference. I got the bacon egg roll. Yummm!!!! Beautifully decorated, warm, and relaxed. A true gem and easily a place we’ll go out of our way to visit again.

What a wonderful location for a meal stop beside a beautiful flowing river. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend it to anyone driving through the area.

Yelp
This place was a wonderful surprise in a tiny town. A charming setting overlooking the babbling stream. I had a Picolo (short) latte and it was up with the best Melbourne coffees, with a great range of both teas and coffees to choose from. The scones were full and light with real thick cream and local berry jam. We came back for lunch the next day. Equally impressive home baked dishes that change regularly. Oh, and really friendly helpful staff.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. Delicious food and a lovely environment. We stopped in for lunch on a Hobart day drive and were looking for a light meal. This was just the spot. On a sunny day you can sit outside in the sun or under the covered patio. The food is freshly made and you can tell. I had the savoury scone and it came with a good amount of butter which is great because I have a weakness for butter.. My hubby had the pie which was again home made and delicious. Also visit the bathroom :)

Yelp
Fabulous location. We sat outside with the sound of the river rushing past. The coffee, hot chocolate, tea and milkshake were great as were the BLTs. The roast vegetable salad was average. The only roasted vegetable was the pumpkin which was only partly roasted. The beets looked like they were out of a tin and not roasted. This salad would be perfect with properly oven roasted pumpkin, carrot, fresh beets and maybe red capsicum. Put all this on the same bed of lettuce, feta and walnuts and it would be a fabulous "roast veg" salad.

Yelp
Skimpy portions at greedy prices. We were shocked at how overpriced this place was. We can say that the view of the river out back was charming but save your $$ and get your snacks at the Mount Field Visitor Centre Cafe.

Yelp
This had to be one of the best lunches for a reasonable price we had in Tasmania! I urge you to stop by. Even though the weather was not the greatest on the day we were there, we still sat out the back by the river and the other guests were quite friendly helping us plan how best to use our time visiting the National Park. I got the burger and it was so delicious that I would definitely go directly back there to enjoy it again next time I visit Tasmania.

Yelp
Affordable, great location and very nice staff. You can have a coffee and watch the river roll by. There's a platypus lives under the restaurant too. My favourite place to go in winter.

Yelp
The Possum Shed is a gem of a local cafe / near Mount Field National Park that if it wasn't for our tour guide, Rosie. while on holiday here in Tasmania, Australia, we would have easily missed. We enjoyed a wonderful local cheese and meat platter that had one delicious bite after another, excellent bread and coffees.
