After stopping in just to get a coffee we ended up ordering breakfast after walking through the cute cafe and seeing all the lovely spots to sit outside along the river. We both got the bacon and egg roll which was one of the best we've had. The freshly baked Turkish roll definitely made it, with bacon, bbq sauce and perfectly cooked gooey eggs. If you need a coffee, brekkie/ lunch spot while driving through this area definitely go here.

Best burger I’ve had in years. Coffee is also fab. Wonderful quirky location overlooking the creek. Warm welcome. Great service.

I came here in November 2023 and they were closing up for the day but were so kind to serve us coffee and cake, we sat outside and watched a fisherman in the water fly fish. Today I came back for morning tea and I was in heaven here. I love everything about this place, the ride here is so nice, you’re greeted by the loveliest staff I’ve ever met and the baked goods are the best I’ve ever had. I’m going to come back so many more times just to try everything else they bake up.

Highly recommended! Our Toasties were just refreshing and the lasagna with the salad on the side - yummi! We haven’t had such great food for a while in our trip here in Tassie! On top of that you will sit right beside the river, or inside in the very cozy furnished room! Sweets looked also very delicious !!!

Such a cute cafe to stop by after doing the Mt Field National Park three falls hike. Friendly service, tasty toasty & scone. Iced latte needed to be stronger.

This cafe is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. The coffee is exceptional – rich, smooth, and expertly brewed. The menu offers a great variety of delicious options, from fresh pastries to satisfying meals, all beautifully presented. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home. If you’re looking for a delightful cafe experience, this place is a must-visit!

The most delightful country cafe! Great homemade options at awesome prices. Lots of sweet spots to sit, especially outside watching the river.

Yelp
This place was a wonderful surprise in a tiny town. A charming setting overlooking the babbling stream. I had a Picolo (short) latte and it was up with the best Melbourne coffees, with a great range of both teas and coffees to choose from. The scones were full and light with real thick cream and local berry jam. We came back for lunch the next day. Equally impressive home baked dishes that change regularly. Oh, and really friendly helpful staff.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. Delicious food and a lovely environment. We stopped in for lunch on a Hobart day drive and were looking for a light meal. This was just the spot. On a sunny day you can sit outside in the sun or under the covered patio. The food is freshly made and you can tell. I had the savoury scone and it came with a good amount of butter which is great because I have a weakness for butter.. My hubby had the pie which was again home made and delicious. Also visit the bathroom :)

Yelp
Fabulous location. We sat outside with the sound of the river rushing past. The coffee, hot chocolate, tea and milkshake were great as were the BLTs. The roast vegetable salad was average. The only roasted vegetable was the pumpkin which was only partly roasted. The beets looked like they were out of a tin and not roasted. This salad would be perfect with properly oven roasted pumpkin, carrot, fresh beets and maybe red capsicum. Put all this on the same bed of lettuce, feta and walnuts and it would be a fabulous "roast veg" salad.

Yelp
Skimpy portions at greedy prices. We were shocked at how overpriced this place was. We can say that the view of the river out back was charming but save your $$ and get your snacks at the Mount Field Visitor Centre Cafe.

Yelp
This had to be one of the best lunches for a reasonable price we had in Tasmania! I urge you to stop by. Even though the weather was not the greatest on the day we were there, we still sat out the back by the river and the other guests were quite friendly helping us plan how best to use our time visiting the National Park. I got the burger and it was so delicious that I would definitely go directly back there to enjoy it again next time I visit Tasmania.

Yelp
Affordable, great location and very nice staff. You can have a coffee and watch the river roll by. There's a platypus lives under the restaurant too. My favourite place to go in winter.

Yelp
The Possum Shed is a gem of a local cafe / near Mount Field National Park that if it wasn't for our tour guide, Rosie. while on holiday here in Tasmania, Australia, we would have easily missed. We enjoyed a wonderful local cheese and meat platter that had one delicious bite after another, excellent bread and coffees.
