We have stayed the week in July & this is the first time I have been warm . staying anywhere in Winter. Our room was centrally heated & temp was up to 23 degrees. Just what we needed after a funeral . Sensational food ( see my bar review) & friendly & helpful staff. Best Australian stay ever! Thank you!

Was excited to eat here as I had seen great reviews, but I left disappointed. Although staff were on top of things, food came out cold and my $50 steak which I requested to be medium rare was so chewy snd had so much fat on it parts of it weren’t edible. Me and my boyfriend came here to celebrate our anniversary and left unsatisfied and feeling like we paid to much for the food. Wouldn’t come back

We've been coming to this hotel for over 20 years, it's our home away from home when in Melbourne. Added bonus to staying here is the immediate access to St Kilda beach, the newly renovated pier and the excellent bars and restaurants along the beach boardwalk. Trams right outside the hotel transport you into the city in 20 mins or so through the leafy tree-lined streets. Being able to take in the sea air or a morning and a coffee (and cake) in Acland St is simply fantastic.

Great location, rooms nice and quiet with a comfy bed. Unfortunately for a 3 night stay there was no set of draws to out our clothes and only a small space with a couple of coat hangers to hang out clothes. The kettle in the room had a faulty switch so it took 4-5 goes for it to stay in place and work. For a deluxe room these things let it down as well as a very cold bathroom with no heating in it.||However the kitchen and bar staff were very attentive gave prompt efficient service. Delicious breakfast brunch dishes and coffee.

I don't write a lot of reviews, but after my stay at this hotel I felt compelled to. I was at the prince for 4 nights for a conference. Coming from Canada I was very out my comfort zone and the staff were so warm and helpful it just made my stay in melbourne so easy. Having the restaurant and bar attached to the hotel was super convenient. The food was amazing and the staff that run the restaurant are awesome. I Especially enjoyed breakfast there, and the fact that they always had fruit baskets around. My Room was great, and overall the hotel is really stylish/unique. I would recommend this to anyone visiting melbourne looking for a spot to stay a but different from the normal hotel chains.

Had a great stay here! Good location and the staff were all so lovely! Ty in the pub was very friendly and helpful with some ideas of things to do in the area during our visit! Will stay here again for sure!

This is a 5 star hotel with minor inconveniences that can easily be fixed but made it feel 4 star. Bad: - Old TCL tvs that are hard to work with (especially when casting) - WiFi is medieval, it's so slow - Standing shower doesn't have proper sealant around the door so it leaks into the bathroom if you shower too long Good: - Rooms ~ they're beautiful and comfortable, and despite the shower leaks, it is a nice shower - Air Conditioner had me shivering if set too low - Restaurant, bar, and band room are great - Location ~ right next to a train station for easy travel anywhere in the city, as well as great restaurants nearby - LOCATION ~ Dude it's right next to the beach and Luna Park Overall great, would book again.

Fantastic Stay – Twice!||||I’ve stayed here twice recently on solo trips and absolutely loved it both times. The staff are friendly and super helpful, which made me feel right at home. The on-site pub and restaurant are excellent, and there’s even a separate wine bar for a more relaxed vibe.||||The location is great—just a short, easy walk (about half a mile) to St Kilda and close to the beach. It’s also LGBTQ+ friendly, which was important to me and much appreciated.

Yelp
Booked a queen bed and received a full. Did not honor booking and did not advise at point of check In hat lesser room was provided. Location is noisy, rooms are very dated and property overall is overrated and at best 3.5 stars. Relies on its location for its reputation! Definitely not 5 star.

Yelp
Wow! Haven eaten here for a while. The cuisine now is middle eastern flavoured. The dishes were so tasty, not too rich and wow, they have really stepped it up. The service, great. The drinks fantastic. Atmosphere great. We cervice, lamb and prawn skewers, tasty mushrooms and more. The roast chicken was fantastic. All deserts super. We ended up eating there twice in the same day. Just great.

Yelp
Here for work, I was a bit hesitant booking the Prince knowing it's also home to the Price of Wales pub and also traveling with my boss, I thought this could be a disaster BUT I'm pleased to be wrong - what a brilliant hotel!! The hotel is stylish but small, and most of all quiet! My room was super elegant but minimal. Being a frequent traveller for work, I am now a collector Of bathroom accessories which were a decent brand (Malin + Goetzi). The bed - holy crap, the kind I got out of finally, 1 hour past my alarm, I did not want to move from the bed - so good! Only giving it 4 because the rooms do need a lick of paint, they aren't the newest but the marks on walls could very easily be glossed over by many a traveller. And did I mention, the normal check out time is 11am! Where on earth does that happen without having to pay a fee?! Cheers! Really good wifi connection in room and an even better one in their restaurant where I'm currently having breakfast which is included in the room. I chose a homemade crumpet with Parisan butter and leatherwood honey, so good. Yay and would SO recommend!

Yelp
I am staying at The Prince for the 5th time, it is as wonderful as always, exceptional service, chic surroundings, incredible breakfast included in the rate at Circa and a Dutch woman working at front desk whose energy and enthusiasm typify this great city. I could never stay anywhere else in Melbourne.

Yelp
I've only ever been to Prince of Wales on a Monday for gay night. Usually a great time. Cheap beer, indie guys, Drag Queen arm wrestling, and dancing on tables in the dark with lasers shining in your eye. A good place to get pissed out of your mind and do things you'll regret and laugh about the next day.

Yelp
Prince of Wales Hotel in St Kilda is one of the last dive bars around. It's dodgy enough to feel edgy and yet you're not scared you will be bashed if you win at pool. Everyone's really friendly in there and don't be surprised if an old codger asks you to play with him.... pool I mean. They have $2.50 pots on a Monday night and the room next door is gay night and has a drag show. Upstairs is The Bandroom which have all sorts of live gigs on there. Friday and Saturdays can be a little young for me, but great clubbing if that's what you're in to. There's something for everyone at The Prince and it's on Fitzroy street so there are plenty of options for a cracking night out.

Yelp
I loved this hotel. It is small, stylish and in a great location. The internet service is flawless, the room was quiet, the hotel was clean, and the price is reasonable. The breakfast served in the morning was much better than most hotels. The location is very close to many restaurants. My only difficulty was getting cabs in the mornings.
