The pillows and mattress are so soft! We booked the one room, one floor and it was definitely worth it. Everything was automated; the blinds, the lights, the ac, the sheer curtains. The washer dryer was also a very big help since we were traveling for 2 weeks. We love having a big space, so it was great! ||The concierge Eddie was also the nicest we’ve ever met! He was very helpful and very attentive to our needs. ||The are is also great. Walking distance to 2 stations and lots of places nearby to explore. If you want to experience nightlife in Hong Kong, always best to stay in Central area.

Love this hotel. I’ve stayed here probably a combined total of two months over the course of the past five years and always enjoy it. |Im currently staying in the 26th floor partial harbor view room. The hotel is well located - right across from Sheung Wan station and walking distance from everything in Central and Midlevels. |It’s very spacious, particularly compared to normal HK standards. |The bedding is comfortable. |Lastly and most importantly, the staff are truly incredible. The front desk are so lovely. The cleaning staff remember who you are and personalize their service. Whenever I’ve asked for anything (body lotion, more coffee capsules) it’s arrived very quickly. Today, when I requested “coffee capsules, please make sure it’s not decaf,” the staff sent more coffee immediately along with a handwritten note describing the intensity of each type of coffee. |I’ve stayed in so many “luxury five star hotels” where the service couldn’t hold a candle to what I’ve experienced at the Putman on a consistent basis. |The hotel isn’t perfect for everyone - the gym is a bit bleak if that is something important to you. There is a water filter instead of bottled water - I prefer this for sustainability reasons but it could be bothersome to some. It’s sort of annoying to drive to the hotel from Airport Express, especially during rush hour. And occasionally for certain rooms there have been issues with the AC or leaks from the bathtub. But the Putman consistently puts a smile on my face and I always look forward to a visit.

My recent stay at this hotel was outstanding, combining top-notch hospitality, innovative room design, and a welcoming vibe. It’s a perfect pick for a special occasion or a relaxing escape. The staff’s friendliness was remarkable. The receptionist safely held a bouquet I ordered online and enthusiastically helped plan a birthday surprise for my girlfriend. When I needed a vase, they delivered one promptly. After checkout, they found my forgotten charger and kept it until I returned. Every interaction was warm and attentive, making me feel truly valued. The room’s unique one-way layout, flowing from living room to bedroom to bathroom, was one of the most creative I’ve seen. It felt spacious and stylish, with a cozy living area and a comfortable bedroom. The bathroom’s huge, spotless bathtub was a highlight, perfect for a relaxing soak. The hotel was impeccably clean and inviting, from the pristine room to the well-kept common areas. This attention to hygiene and warmth created a comfortable, home-like atmosphere.Overall, this hotel delivered an unforgettable experience with its friendly staff, innovative design, and hygienic environment. I highly recommend it for a memorable stay!

We spent 3 nights at the Putman and it was the best combination of comfort, quality, and hospitality. We booked a large one bedroom + extra bed for the 3 of us but was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a 2 bedroom instead which allowed us added convenience. The rooms were modern, clean, with high quality bathroom amenities and the space was such a welcome luxury in Hong Kong where other hotels were much smaller in size and would have been a squeeze to fit a third adult in. There is only 1 suite per floor so that gave us added privacy! The 2 bedroom was well equipped with a small kitchen, laundry machine, and seating area making it ideal for families so I am sure to book it again when I visit with the family next time.||But the best part of the experience was the staff - everyone was welcoming, helpful and made the effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible! I usually stay at luxury 5 star hotels with complete hotel amenities but I now realize that the large space and hospitality The Putman offers is really all we needed for a perfect getaway. Thank you!

I highly recommend this hotel for its clean and comfortable room! The staff (especially Kathy) are very friendly and helpful ! The hotel’s also conveniently located in central district. Overall, it’s an ideal choice for both leisure and business travellers.

The location in Central meant that the hotel was well connected to everything I needed, with only a little walk to the areas of interest. The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful, and I felt very well looked after. The room was cozy and very clean. The towels felt very soft. The TV was responsive. The view and the electric blinds/curtains were very convenient. My only gripe is a minor one; the buttons for the windows are not bedside, so in the morning you'll have to get up to open them. That's only a problem for lazy people like myself though. Overall, I highly recommend it if anyone is looking for a convenient stay on the island.

Great service apartment-hotel! There’s a gym but no pool. Super spacious for HK, was clean, urban and convenient to most places as well. Eddy and the team were all super hospitable! Will definitely stay here next time!

Yelp
Yay! My first Yelp review of a hotel/serviced apartment in HK! Been dragging my feet too long on this one. Let me cut straight to the chase. I have been missing HK big time (no thanks also to all you Yelpers posting all the drooling pics of HK in Yelp ... especially Rob and Dan!). So, in my last leg of my Japan Trip in May this year, I decided to stop over in HK for 3 nights to satisfy my longing for HK food, especially for Wanton Mee - my fav of all HK foods! Chose this serviced apartment based on the reviews I read from Agoda and other websites. It was a good choice. Why 5 stars? Here's why: 1. Great location: Being situated near to 2 MTR (subway) stations - Sheung Wan and Hong Kong Stations - makes it all so convenient! Sheung Wan is a shorter walk away at about 5 min, but I much prefer to walk to HK Station as there are lots more to see when I take a 10 min walk from the serviced apartment to the station. 2. Service Staff: 6 stars! Enjoyed simply excellent service from the front desk, especially from the young lady Janet. I interacted with her a lot during my 3 days stay, and she was really very professional, warm and made me feel at home. 3. Luxurious Bathroom: It is one of the biggest bathrooms (in HK anyways) of a HK hotel that I have stayed in. I enjoyed my nightly soaks in the long bath tub and I love everything about the bathroom. Love the L'occitane toiletries they provide and the well-lit vanity mirror which made putting on my makeup so much easier. Especially love the retro light green tiled interior of the bathroom. My only bug-bear about the bathroom is the relatively loud ventilation sounds emanating from the ventilation fans. I highlighted this to the service staff and they were very apologetic about it. But, I think as this is an old building, there is nothing much they can do about it, unless they do an entire tear-down of the AC and ventilation system. Because of this slightly irritating white noise, I would give the hotel 4.5 stars. But there are no 1/2 stars in Yelp, so I would thus still give it a 5-stars ; ) 4. Excellent view: It was fun to peek out into my neighbours across the street every night (I am no voyeur lol, but the next building is located just a couple of metres away) and to look down to see the people walking along the narrow street at night. The view at night from the full glass windows was great, and kind of Wong Kar Wai-esque (fans of the famous HK director WKW would get it) 5. Close to lotsa good eateries: Thanks to Rob's recommendation! I visited Tsim Chai Kee Noodles and I REALLY loved it! I asked the serviced apartment staff for the nearest TCK, and they recommended the one at Queen's Road (see addressbelow). It was only HKD 27 for a big bowl of super delish wanton noodles! #cravingssatisfied. There are in fact 2 Tsim Chai Kee Noodles near my accommodation and I visited the one that is less well-known: https://www.yelp.com.sg/biz/%E6%B2%BE%E4%BB%94%E8%A8%98-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF-2 B/F, Siu Ying Commercial Building, 1 153 Queen's Road Central 皇后大道中153號兆英商業大廈地庫 Hong Kong The other Tsim Chai Kee is situated very near to my serviced apartment. I only found that out on my last night in HK: https://www.yelp.com.sg/biz/%E6%B2%BE%E4%BB%94%E8%A8%98-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF 6. Complimentary Snacks and Drinks: The serviced apartment was generous with snacks and water. They have a coffee machine and supplied me a few bottles of water every day which was really great! Such a small gesture but oh so important for thirsty travelers like me ;p 7. Very comfortable Bed & complimentary android phone providing portable wifi The bed was most most comfortable. Really loved it! & I must mention the complimentary portable wifi service they provide - just make sure their android phone is fully charged and you can use it to provide wifi on the go when you move around the city. Talk about convenience ya! #thumbsup All in all, this is my best stay in HK so far. Have visited HK 5 times over the course of 26 years. I hope to return to stay in Putman again in the future! #13 out of my 50 Targeted reviews in 2017 (37 more to go #behindschedule #oops lol)
