The Q Train

Fantastic food, service, atmosphere & decor. It began with a complimentary drink on arrival, and then shown to our carriage & table. Each course was explained to us as it was served, with each accepted with curiosity & some excitement in taking that first mouthful. It was all a treat. I am now a senior and this was an experience I had looked forward to and wasn’t disappointed. As we ate, we enjoyed the views from the train to the scenery outside, and each others company. We had a girl serving who was very relaxed, including with some humour. It added to the atmosphere. I have no problem recommending the Q train.

The Q Train offered a truly memorable experience with an atmosphere that’s an easy 5+. The setting, the scenery, and the whole concept make it feel special from the moment we stepped onboard. The food sat somewhere between a 3 and 4 for me — good, enjoyable, but not always as impressive as the experience surrounding it. Still, there were standout elements and beautiful presentation. The service was solid at around a 4. The staff were friendly, attentive, and added positively to the overall journey. Overall, The Q Train is absolutely worth trying for the atmosphere alone, with respectable service and decent food to round out the adventure. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon or evening.

Yesterday was our sixth ride on The Q Train since 2018 and it absolutely never disappoints. We go first class for the private, comfy room and sensational matched wines. The food is always superb and the staff delightfully, knowledgeable and charming. No matter the time of year the scenery the train trundles past is always gorgeous. What a boon for the Bellarine and all the local suppliers. Obviously, we will be back.

We came here to celebrate a birthday, and it was definitely a ten-out-of-ten experience. The staff was incredibly caring and attentive. Every time we asked for assistance, they responded with big, genuine smiles. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing. Our first-class tickets included a selection of beverages—beer, wine, or mocktails. Initially, we ordered some alcoholic drinks, but when we changed our minds and decided to switch to non-alcoholic options, the team was very understanding and happy to accommodate our request. I'll recommend to everyone who wants a unique dining experience.

Great experience, wine pairing lunch on the steam trian. Delicious food, great wine and awesome services. The vibe is great, menu are all set with selected drink. Reasonable price for a 3 hours experience. Special compliment to Montana and her partner for their 5 plus star services

We were a group of 6 and had the best time! The countryside is beautiful and you could hardly tell the train was evening moving apart from the view constantly changing. The food was exceptional! Nothing bad to say about any of it, and the staff were delightful! So much fun, one of the best days out I have had in a long time. I highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic experience and felt like a queen. 1st class is definitely recommended with amaxing 5 course meals, wine/beer specifically for each dish, supporting local businesses and our hostess was terrific. Great day and very well organised 👍

We came across the Q train randomly via facebook. The post advertised that they did elopements so we checked out the packages online. The packages advertised included the celebrant, the photographer, 5 course meal and a three hour train ride! We were curious so made an online enquiry and Marie-Claire, one of the people who ran the Q train, responded quite promptly and invited us to come down and check out the train! Marie-Claire was quite lovely to us and was very informative. She kept us in the loop with everything once we signed the contract. On the actual day of our elopment, it was a day to never forget. We got married by Sue Warner, our celebrant and then after that our photographer, Paidi Flynn took our photos. After that, we hopped on the train in our little private cabin for the five course meal. Hands down the best food and drink I have ever experienced! The service on the train by the wait staff was impeccable! Shoutout to Shaz and I think Meg who served us on the train. The trio of Q train elopements, Marie Claire, Sue Warner and Paidi Flynn made the day unforgettable and totally worth it! They worked amazingly as a team to make everything run smoothly. Tom and I will be coming back to the Q train again as regular customers. We want to dine and ride everytime there is a new menu!
