After a recent move to the Vernal area, I heard this was a great restaurant to go if I wanted good steak or prime rib. If it wasn't for the stellar service that Adam provided me, I would most likely give a 0 star rating. The atmosphere is great, the service and staff is friendly, but where they lack is the most important place of the restaurant - the kitchen.
I ordered the blackened prime rib and I was thinking like other places who offer the same cut and style is a 2 minute sear on one side and perhaps a 2 minute sear on the other side. Nope, how about a prime rib well done. In addition, the prime rib cut for nearly $30 was mainly fat and blubber. Very limited meat. Not a good price for the amount of fat.
My wife got the steak medallions and she asked me to taste it. The sauce was thick. It was like meat sitting in a plated swamp. You needed an oar to go through the cream. You could taste the flour in it.
Based on these items, I would probably stay away from eh, steak, at a steak house. What you can stay with are the side salads. Good looking greens, fresh tomatoes, and that was yummy.
For tourist season, this is probably a place to stay away from. Will I give it another chance, perhaps when they get a chef than show good flavor profiles, understand what cooking temperature for meat is, and understands that sauce inconsistencies are not good.
