Awesome place! Our room had great views too! I enjoyed staying in this hotel!

Google
Room nice, clean and spacious, good view of the ocean. Close to the boardwalk and beach!

Phil B

Google
One of my favorite hotels in AC because they have a lot of stuff going on inside all hours of the day, hahahhaha. Even stopped by and picked up some Mrs. Field cookies 🤤

Great time at the Trop in A.C. my stay there was even capped off with a beautiful rainbow

Google
This place was awesome and it had a lot of really great restaurants in it. I wish they offered a little bit more for shopping... But For Food/ Atmosphere this place is a complete 5 and a great place for you to take your family to visit in Atlantic City. Definitely worth going in for nightlife... Three floors of really interesting shops and places to get awesome things. The restaurants are the true gem.

The Quarter at Tropicana is a unique little place to visit while in Atlantic City! We stopped here to have lunch and few drinks. Cuban vibes, good food, and shopping on multi level floors! It's conveniently located just a few minutes from the boardwalk. Great hideaway indoors on a rainy day! They have a movie theater inside and other fun things to do too. Definitely worth making a stop!

There are a lot of shops and dining in the Quarter. More than most casinos in Atlantic City.

Great stay at the Quarter Tropicana. Atmosphere is great.

Yelp
I had a great time in the Tropicana! So much to do in one place! Only issue I really had was that we were staying in the Chelsea tower and the room was very good. This tower is removed/separated from the main building with casinos and exits connected by a bridge, the one exit from the Chelsea tower to the beach or boardwalk does not allow guests to come back in. This also means trips to the casino is far away. Still had a good time

Yelp
I'm going to be honest -- I probably shouldn't have expected a really nice hotel experience at the Tropicana. The whole place felt dingy and very outdated. While the rooms were clean and spacious, they were extremely old-fashioned and felt more like a two-star hotel. The casino was packed with people, so it's definitely a popular spot, but personally, I wouldn't come back. Just not the kind of vibe or quality I was hoping for.

Yelp
We just spent 11 nights at the Tropicana and had a great time. We don't even gamble! We had a junior suite overlooking the ocean and it was roomy and comfortable! The number of available restaurants inside the Tropicana and great eating places just outside on the Boardwalk made our vacation even better! We want to go again soon! It was a great stay! I highly recommend it! Parking rates were excellent too! The only things that might be addressed is the WiFi has to be reconnected each day but it's. If a big deal! We will stay again! We were surprised though that after staying 11 nights that nobody contacted us to thank us for staying 11 nights. Or a big deal but it was surprising. Great hotel and reasonable rates with lots to do and convenient ships and dining! Definitely will stay there again for quick getaways as we live 4 hours away. To update my review, U wanted to say in response to another reviewer that we loved using Ivy, an AI Helper to make requests for room needs. We used Ivy multiple times per day for towels, coffee for the drip, and even linking our room with our Caesars membership. Ivy and housekeeping responded very quickly and we were so impressed. Great hotel!!

Yelp
Didn't stay here but came for shopping, eating and to party. Had a great time. It's very clean and has a lot to offer. Def recommend

Yelp
I didn't book a room here. However, this place is vibrant with lots of tourist activity, bars and restaurants. I'd definitely drop in again to try another restaurant out. Went to PF CHANGS

Yelp
Just when you think a casino has hit bottom and is going to turn around, the Tropicana hits a new low. A majority of the slots that we played had buttons that didn't work right, ordering a drink was near impossible, and despite losing over $500 in about an hour my only beer choice was a small cup of warm Budweiser which took an hour to get. No Comps or free play. Although I literally live next door to the Tropicana, I'd rather drive down to the Ocean than drop a another dime at the Trop. Did I mention that the casino and bathrooms are dirty! My advice, STAY AWAY!

Yelp
This was our first and probably last time staying at the Tropicana. We did valet parking and were told if we paid ahead of time we would have our car out and ready and wouldn't have to wait in the morning- that didn't happen. Check in wasn't that bad and the bell services brought up our cart all the way to our room on the 46th floor. The room was big, seemed clean. Getting to the room from check in was a hike. The place is so big and maybe some people like that but we did not. We didn't go to gamble so it wasn't worth staying at the casino. The worst part was check out. We waited 20 minutes for an elevator then our family split into different elevators because they were so full from everyone checking out. The self checkout didn't work. I waited in line where people kept butting in line then the diamond club members got priority so all in all it took 40 minutes for elevator and check out then our car was not ready and we waited another 20 minutes- 60 minutes just to leave the hotel. Pros were the large room and large panoramic windows for the view, it would probably be worth upgrading to a beach view.

Yelp
Had a great time at the Trop! I've been to Atlantic City a ton over the years, but never stayed at the Trop until recently. The basically have everything you could need in one spot - multiple restaurants, clubs, restaurants, shops, a spa. The rooms were a bit small, but were clean. I went to multiple restaurants during my stay- Cuba Libre, PF Changs, Chickie & Pete's to make a few. I love the variety of cuisines. The casino floor is clean and has a lot Of slot and table options. Drink service is always pretty quick too. Great experience overall!!
google avatar

Erica R.

Yelp
Check in was awful. There was maybe 10-12 people in front of me and it took over an hour to get checked in. The west tower was not very nice. The north tower was amazing. Did not eat on site. I don't understand the tariff sign in the parking lot with pricing.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend came to the Tropicana to experience Atlantic City for the first time. We had not been very familiar with the Jersey Shore, but after our short stay in AC, whatever curiosity previously existed has been quelled. Staying at the Tropicana felt like we were on vacation in a Walmart Supercenter. Think Lousiana Superdome vibes during Hurricane Katrina but with slot machines. Nothing seemed to be functioning properly, the room was dingy and in need of softer light, long lines for elevators, general diaper smell, etc. My favorite part of this experience was the endless up-charging for things that should be free. For instance, to sit on a lounge chair at the pool, you have to pay extra. At the "Planet Rose Karaoke Bar" I paid $2 per karaoke song on top of the $5 cover charge to walk in the door. (However I did receive a reward for my karaoke performance so they get extra points for that) Lol. Overall, had a blast in this trash town, and I walked away with the learned knowledge that ya get what ya pay for in Atlantic City! Beware the Tropicana unless you like existing like a gutter cretin for a few days! Cheers!
google avatar

Monica B.

Yelp
I was impressed with the quick response from you Ryan B. After receiving your message I reached out, I felt it was important to share my experience with you and hope that maybe my experience could help make positive change but again Tropicana failed. I called only to be put on hold for over 7 minutes and I had no choice but to hang up for another call. Customer service is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing! People know things happen and not everything can be perfect but the response to the customer is and should always be priority. Still don't recommend!

Yelp
I will never stay here again.. The rooms aren't clean, the sheets in the bed ware ripped. The elevator in the west towers did not work, we had to take the stairs constantly. Very disappointed
google avatar

Derrick B.

Yelp
Did not use my celebration dinner here because we wanted to try the cuban food but this is the best of the Caesars property in the city. Definitely a good atmosphere and lively. There are many things to do from shopping eating definitely playing even for the kids with and arcade. If I stay at Caesars would definitely do this one. Recommend the Havana tower even though it takes awhile to get to from casino. All the elevators or slow
google avatar

Michele B.

Yelp
Been coming to the Trop for many years, but have missed the past few years. I can't believe how far downhill this place has become. With a few exceptions (Cuba Libre, all of our blackjack dealers..), quality standards have dropped significantly. Rude staff, dirty rooms, dirty hallways.... We won't be back. It was gross. Edited to take away a star after that abysmal response from the Tropicana...
google avatar

Brittany T.

Yelp
Worst place to stay ever! Dirty, loud and no service. The manager said upon checkout that if I wanted things done, i had to scan the code on the room key. Never again! Plus, if you want to use a non busy pool, a fee is charged!
google avatar

Janice M.

Yelp
I was enjoying my stay until I found a bug in my bed!ugh ! There were a few small things that were not great like hair in the shower when I went to shower for the first time and just some wear and tear on some things.Wish I knew there was a kids dance competition going on too many kids too much noise! The adult pool had kids due to the fact the other pools were closed ugh!So much for relaxing!people letting kids play in the hallways and disturb everyone!Well enough said! The bug was the finally draw We checked out and didn't stay!check in and out was horrible small desk long lines at kiosk!Oh at one point the elevators stop working in the south tower!I wish I could say something good The bed was comfortable until I saw the bug.

Yelp
Other than the confusing room check in and elevators, I absolutely love this casino. We're not gamblers- for us, it's all about the food and shopping! PF Chang's, Carmine's, Cuba Libre, Wet Willy's and Mrs. Field's! Swarvorski is always drool worthy! Super glad that there's a comedy place again! Im enamored by the cloud ceilings too! Just a happy place!
google avatar

MJ D.

Yelp
Service dropped to a new low. Our room windows are so clouded, defective seals Even after requiring. No housekeeping, just towels delivered if you call. Drinks at the bar while playing the slots are full price.
google avatar

Joanna M.

Yelp
This hotel is fine. The quarter in the other side of the hotel is nice. Good restaurants and bars. Make sure to make a reservation for Carmines. You also have an alcoholic slushy shop and a Starbucks. Of course all the places are pricey. I don't have interest in their clubs. Other casinos clubs look more interesting. When it comes to gambling I feel like You lose more here than other Casinos.

Yelp
Guys no lie I'm so picky about where I lay my head and eat and as I get older it gets worse I prejudge the Tropicana by that exterior but on this side of Atlantic City hard Rock and Tropicana has the best interior I complained so much about how looked outside but everything they have going on inside with the restaurants and shops makes up for it plus their staff rocks

Jack D.

Yelp
This place is an absolute joke. The room was filthy and smelled like cigarettes. The hallway was littered with garbage and crumbs. When we asked the front desk to switch rooms due to it smelling like cigarettes the manager came out and told us no and that housekeeping would just come clean it. I'll let you guess whether or not housekeeping showed up. The walls in the room were covered in stains of God only knows what. We were given 2 towels for 4 people. The staff was very unhelpful and overall unfriendly when we asked for these problems to be fixed. If you are looking to stay somewhere for a casino trip, pick literally anywhere else. Frankly you are better off just sleeping on the lobby floor if you do come here. It's no dirtier than the rooms themselves. If you are cool with dirty rooms and rude staff then this place is fine, otherwise stay somewhere else. UPDATE: I submitted my complaint to the link that their "manager" sent me in the reply below. I'm not holding my breath waiting for a response

Yelp
We chose Atlantic City for our mini Oct vacation; we enjoyed Vegas so wanted a similar experience. I had two choices near the boardwalk or the Borgatta away from action I picked Tropicana. My early impressions of Tropicana were that looked old wasn't loving the layout of food court and main lobby but it grew on me and finally decided it was a fun time. We were in Havana tower, where you have to walk through casino floor all way to end of Quarter up escalator just to reach elevator. I did like that you had everything to do there, IMAX, comedy club, Escape room, nightclubs, sports bars, indoor pool, many restaurants, casino games, boardwalk access, beach access. I definitely got my steps in every day and being a runner appreciated I could step out behind food court right onto boardwalk. Going toward Ventnor City & back was 5.5 miles, other end toward Showboat was 5 miles to and fro. Our room was fine except no microwave so to-go boxes were not taken. Service was serviceable make sure have ID or front lobby can't help. There is not a whole lot to do in Atlantic City but within Tropicana there was.

Yelp
This Hotel is like the UN, everyone stays here, even the homeless. They occupy the benches. Security is very laxed, i guess they are told to leave them alone. But at the end of the day, they don't bother me. I like the Tropicana this place has a lot to do, great restaurants and weekends is always very busy. It's always maintained pretty clean, casino floor a lot of security. If you venture outside of the hotel at night make sure you are in company of Mr. Glock or just jump in an Uber. But really no need to leave hotel, great place to hang and enjoy!!

Yelp
Nice casino, plenty of restaurants, casino areas, plenty of shopping. They have shows and a movie theater inside. I have eaten at a few places like Cubre Libre and a nice Mexican restaurant down im the MarketPlace area. Their food is excellent. Today we were passing through and enjoyed some casino time. It is an older casino, but a nice place to visit.
google avatar

Fang Jun Q.

Yelp
I didn't get to stay in the hotel but the casino was HUGE. We didn't even have time to go through all the floors.

Bianca F.

Yelp
Service sucks as much as the rooms and hotel. Not clean, not kept just gross. Drove 4 hours to get a king bed suite instead of a double bed room and it was infested with roaches. Had to get a refund and leave with my kids to another hotel at 3 am. Thanks.

Yelp
The only things I can say good about this place is they have good restaurants & shopping . The parking attendants are absolutely wonderful. The hotel is some trash straight garbage.I don't know what was up with the elevator situation seems like we were waiting for hours. The stairways were absolutely nasty. They never came too clean my room seems like they Only cleaned unoccupied rooms not sure what was up with that . Overall this place is a horrible choice if you were born to Atlantic City. I really don't think anything can help this but maybe an upgrade I'm not sure because I didn't upgrade my room. You have been warned please don't stay in there hotel but you can visit there casino. Also the value of staying here is not were it .

Glenn G.

Yelp
Time 1: Biggest dump i have ever experienced. Room was gross and came with no table or desk. I asked David at front desk for help. He offered me a "deal" to move us to another room that has a desk. For literally twice the price. In fact, we had prepaid and gotten written confirmation for an executive room with desk and ocean views. This guy is clearly trying to rip us off. I grew up in Jersey. It is places like this that give our state a bad name. Not acceptable--shameful in fact. DUMP. Time 2: The next day I brought this complaint to the front desk during the day. There is a manager who had higher rank than that first guy. She was a very good listener and she seemed pretty disturbed at the story of our check-in. She upgraded us to an awesome room without any up charges. We are now in part of the hotel called the Havana Tower. Views are astronomical. The furniture is exactly right. Fantastic room. Game changer. But that initial welcome was still really just wrong! That said, we are extremely appreciative at the adjustments made by the upper administration.

Yelp
Last time I went here I was disgusted with the poop on the bathroom floor and that has not been clean for hours. I ended up playing here the most out of the other three Caesar's property. I would say this one needs the most love as I found some of the areas out of date and the lighting was really dark and old. The place was hot as well. I ended up playing here the most because of the selection of games and I was winning a lot in the beginning. Unfortunately, I most bad here too at the end, but the casino always wins. I did enjoy some of the old machines like the top dollar wheel and the $5 dollar Blazing 7's. I did hit a jackpot as well. The selection of games I could not complain. They do have a marketplace and Tony Luke's the famous philly steak sandwich place, but we were full. I probably would not stay here as this place does look old, but this place does get crowded.
google avatar

Trent B.

Yelp
We usually stay here to celebrate friends and families birthdays because of the nightlife and the entertainment available at the resort. The nightlife there is pretty impressive! There are some fantastic clubs like Tangos and Boogie Nights, which is a blast from the past with its 70s and 80s vibes. Dancing the night away there is a real treat! Plus, there are plenty of great places to eat, so you won't have to worry about finding a good meal after a night out. However, not everything was perfect. The main downside of the resort was the condition of the rooms. They were pretty dirty, which was disappointing. Customer service didn't help much either; it felt like they didn't care at all. If there was an issue with the room or a reservation, they didn't seem eager to fix it. To top it off, some of the staff came off as pretty ignorant, which really put a damper on the experience. Overall, if you're looking for a fun night out in Atlantic City, Tropicana has that in spades, but just be prepared for some shortcomings when it comes to the accommodations and service
google avatar

Leah S.

Yelp
A must visit hotel and casino. Great entertainment, shopping, restaurants, bars, movie theater, gym, pool. Stayed at the hotel. The room was ok, nothing special. But overall good experience. The Quarter is spectacular.
google avatar

Oi W.

Yelp
7/3/24 Room was big and clean. Service was good. The building is so confusing! There are many towers and the casino is the connection. You walk through the crowded and smoky casino to get to the hotel section or the restaurant/market section. Parking lot is confusing as well, the signs on the street kept confusing us as it mostly point to valet and not self. This resort is too crowded and chaotic for me.... I still smell the cigarettes in my nose a week later... The perks, is that it is self sustaining, with all the shops and restaurants and cafes, you never have to leave. There's 3 pools and the beach is right outside. Even had a deli and small grocery store. And a few bars and nightclubs.

Yelp
We've come to "The Trop" every Thanksgiving for the last three years to go to Carmine's for dinner and the downfall has gotten worse. We check into our room, and there's a cockroach (I originally thought it was a bed bug) walking around on one of the beds. Went downstairs, they moved us to another room. Got to the other room... ON A DIFFERENT FLOOR. Go to the bathroom and guess what? Another one on the wall and disappears behind the mirror. Stupidly, I wasn't going to say anything and just go on with my night but as we were leaving, there was another on the ceiling that disappeared into the above head sprinkler. Ok... Called the front desk again and spoke to a manager... Back downstairs we go, with our luggage; again. Also, both rooms were VERY dated, and stains on the wall. Horribly taken care of. We were close to just staying at my wife's parents in Tom's River and come back the next day just for dinner. We got a 3rd room on the 48th floor now (others were the 30th and 31st floor). Room was A LOT cleaner looking and no problems for the 2 nights we were there. After dinner, my youngest son wanted to go to the "arcade". Ok... Very small, which is ok but not when 4 games are out of service and you're left with pinball and 3 other games. Maybe have a sign saying half of the games aren't functioning before allowing people to buy gaming cards. Sadly, this is our last Thanksgiving trip to Atlantic City. Carmine's is AWESOME but not worth a stay at The Tropicana. Only compensation for 2 bug infested rooms and dragging or luggage back and forth twice was a $50 food credit. So not worth it. Do your research and find better options. Why 2 stars opposed to 1 star? Valet crew was awesome. Common areas by the shops and restaurants were very clean. Dealers at the tables were excellent.

Betty T.

Yelp
To Ryan B Business Manager I have called the number you have provided and a few others I was given to be told to see the front desk and goodbye. The front desk offered me another bar of soap and a load of BS The room should be clean! Basic! It was clear as day by many things I didn't include in my first review that it was never cleaned. Gross! Dirty carpet Stains all over the console Vanity + faucet unclean, stained + dusty Trash on the bathroom floor Mold in the shower We couldn't sleep because of the heat I want my money back!! Pure and simple Give me a # where I speak to a human being and one who cares I grew up in a hotel family This was beyond unacceptable
google avatar

Adam K.

Yelp
My family and I stayed at the Tropicana last weekend for our child's tournament that was being hosted there. The elevators took forever and wreaked like marijuana. Our room smelled musty, only one of the lamps worked and worst of all we found cockroaches crawling on the dresser! There is also no security or room key requirement for the elevators so anyone off the street has access to your hotel floor. I trapped a cockroach under a cup, took pictures and reported it to the manager in the hotel lobby, who offered nothing more than a room change. Even after showing him the photographs he was only willing to issue a credit of $100 when we spent over $600 for the room. We moved to another room and the carpet had stains so I returned to the hotel lobby to request the next level manager. On the way, I spoke with an employee who told me to specifically request the casino manager or one of the directors. The lobby manager outright refused to call any other manager, director or to refund our money. I explained that my family did not feel comfortable staying in the hotel due to the conditions. I spent over an hour, going around in circles with the lobby manager until he reluctantly offered half credit. I followed up with Caesers Entertainment since they own the Tropicana. I requested a call from management and was told I would receive one. After three days, I only received a generic email. Stay away from this property. The Tropicana Hotel is gross and Caesers Entertainment doesn't care about cleanliness or you as a customer.

David B.

Yelp
Update: Big thank you to Kyle. The guy owned this and apologized. All this was unexpected. We weren't looking for anything other than to have the pain acknowledged. Kyle is a great asset to Tropicana AC. People make the business. ------- prior ----- Kyle at the front desk checked us in and gave us a key with description to a tower that didn't even have a room with that number. My wife was injured the day before and had trouble walking. This guy was aware of this. He was happy to charge us at the desk?! One thing that is a saving grace, a bellman was super nice and was dropping off another guest. I'll get his name. Walter or he goes by Walt! This is the man! If management reads this, give this guy a bonus. Tropicana, freaking read this and level up!
google avatar

Tracy D.

Yelp
You couldn't pay me to go to the Tropicana again. First off they had me and another person booked for the same room at the same time. Imagine going to your room ready to relax and seeing someone else there, and there's no room service. So I had to leave my room go to one of the restaurants to order food and then bring it back to the room which kind of sucks.
google avatar

Lindsey G.

Yelp
Room was dirty stayed in the Havana tower mold on the ceiling small beds no phone chargers next to the beds as well as red stains on the sheets horrible horrible experience for my birthday never staying here again absolutely disgusted the only good part of my birthday weekend stay was boogie nights very fun

David S.

Yelp
I checked in and it was less than thirty minutes before I had to check back out and have my credit card company cancel the charge. I swear, there is not enough bleach in this whole galaxy to clean that fungal jungle bathroom. Now, don't get me started on the bed covers or whatever that stuff was ground into the rugs.
google avatar

Suzie H.

Yelp
10 north lounge has the worst service. Bartender not nice and very unkind. Felt like I treated like a second class

Emma G.

Yelp
Terrible. They charge you a million extra fees once you get there regardless of the ridiculous price it already costs. The indoor pool was closed and you have to make a reservation to use the outdoor pool. Our room looked like it was barely cleaned before arriving and the toilet paper was used... finding anything, especially your room is nearly impossible since they give little to no directions or provide anyone to assist you. There is no AC in the elevators or halls. Would nottttt recommend

Anne D.

Yelp
Arrived Monday leaving today - no maid service. Needed to hunt down clean towels. Pool closed in June during 100 degree weather! Escalator and elevators intermittently not working. Cabana issue at the pool was resolved at the end but interrupted close to 30 minutes of the day.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good place to spend the weekend with people. Very busy around the casino, but a lot of things to do. The food at Hooters was good.

Yelp
I had a nightmare stay at this property. TL;DR - don't stay in the West Tower. Initially I was pleasantly surprised by the room. No frills, dated bathroom, HVAC that is decades old, but nice hardwood floors and the room was clean. The property itself is expansive with lots of shopping & dining. Cut to 4:45 am when I hear the sound of rain, although it wasn't supposed to be raining & then I realized the sound was louder than it should be & I could hear water hitting the floor. Well, it was raining IN my room. Above the window, water was pouring in & beginning to flood the room. I called the front desk & was told they couldn't move me because the hotel was full, so I asked if they are at least going to fix it since the room was flooding. I was told maintenance could take up to an hour. Asked for towels for the flooding water & was told that, too, would take up to an hour. When housekeeping arrived I was told that a pipe burst in the room above mine and that they had been moved. So much for being fully booked. It turns out rooms were available, but they didn't want to move me there as they were more expensive rooms. This was a safety issue & I should not have been left to stay in a flooding room. Now plaster was falling from the ceiling from all the water. I was then offered a $100 food & beverage credit to get breakfast...all I wanted to do was be able to sleep. I was also given more towels. Asked to speak to a manager & was told I needed to go to the hotel lobby because they don't get on the phone, which seemed really unreasonable given the circumstances - it is not a quick walk to get there. I finally was able to get a supervisor on the phone who said all he could do was comp the taxes & fees & not the hotel room. Asked to escalate this to a manager, a couple of hours later I find out that the manager isn't even on-site or reachable. The manager apparently doesn't come in until 9:30. How is there no on-site or on-call management on a weekend in a hotel like this? If there's no manager present, the supervisor should at the very least have authority to comp rooms. Eventually, a few hours later, I did get the room comped and was finally able to sleep in my flooded room at 9:30 am. This was very poorly handled. to say the least. Apparently the West Tower is known for issues - don't ever stay there!

Nicole B.

Yelp
Wish I could give this a 0 star review. Came for joint bachelor and bachelorette party and from the second we stepped foot in the parking lot we wanted to turn around and go home. The place is filthy and run down and outdated (which wouldn't be an issue if it was at-least cleaned and managed) but they are not. We paid a lot of money (too much) for our hotel in Chelsea tower, the room was disgusting, there was mold in the shower, the shower fixture was broken, the sheets were stained, the room was wet and musky. The hallways had garbage littered on the floors. It was a mess, these rooms with mold should never be available to the public as an option especially for almost $500 for two nights stay. Absurd. We go to the front desk to get an upgrade to a different room, the only pleasant experience was the front desk worker Angela who helped us out and moved us to the south tower, which was better but not great for what we were paying. But we had to pay for our upgrades per night which was annoying and disappointing, especially when other guest were getting comped for rooms and upgrades for less severe matter than ours right next to us. While we had to pay an extra $290 just so we can stay in a room without mold in it. The place as a whole is dirty and unsanitary and frankly a hazard. Not enough people cleaning after one another especially in the public bathroom spaces. The second day my fiancée had to use the bathroom and was appalled to see the filth that was the public restrooms, they were dirty with blood and excrements everywhere, and he couldn't even go up to our room to use the bathroom because only 2 elevators were working. It was an absolute joke. None of the employees there care about the place or their jobs, no one is helpful and even the workers admit that this place is filthy and gross. My fiancée goes to complain about the bathrooms to get someone in there to clean it and complain about the elevators, while he's flagged down to speak to the manager Chris, another guest starts screaming and cursing at my fiancée. The manager agrees to Comp our upgrades for both nights, but for some reason he never put it in the system. The people who work here just say empty promises to diffuse the situation in the moment but never follow through with what they say. Because he never put it in the system we had a difficult time checking out, which is the only thing we were looking forward to do the whole trip. They only comped us for one upgrade and gave us a horrible time checking out, nothing was right or what was promised to us, in the end we had to pay them money. It didn't make sense. It was the worst experience and weekend ever. Absolutely disgusting, they should be shut down, and NJ hygiene and healthy department should be notified. Do not book here!

Yelp
Great hotel, good service for the most part. The rooms in the north tower are old and are in need of updating however the overall service is good. Also, there isn't much entertainment Sun through Thurs. There are good food spots both in the quarter and the market place. I'm not sure about parking, I was here on a bus trip.

Yelp
i attended a union party at the tropical the union rented a hall for about 250 people. They didn't have enough tables they also had chairs against the wall for the people to sit but no table. This was so poorly organized by the event managers. Its a embarrassment. The waiters kept going to the same tables with hors d'oeuvres and missing our table but thank god for some servers that made up for it Some of the wait staff shouldn't be employed Im sorry but the union paid good money for this event and they really are unorganized. As a chef for over 30 years and with my experience i would never hold an event here The food was ok somethings were good The way the handled this event really show how much experience they have to run events. It really shows on the managers part poorly run the buffet instead of having a couple of service. It was a freefall and no portion control. You had waiters they look like zombies when they were serving the hors d'oeuvres. I like The way the wait staff passed up past our table like we didn't even exist. I call for them. They just walk right by . very poorly trained If the think i didnt notice that all they wanted to do is get rid of all the hors d'oeuvres right away, so they don't have to go back-and-forth and carry it instead of paying attention and making sure everybody got some they were only concerned on getting rid of it so they didn't have to work no more going back-and-forth . I know that game too, where you're waiter and you're walking back-and-forth the front and back of the house with hors d'oeuvres and your main thing is to get rid of all the food so you don't have to keep going back-and-forth because you're too f$$ki&? lazy making sure that all the guests had some hors d'oeuvres but instead, some tables didn't get it. Some people didn't get certain hors d'oeuvres. It was the most unorganized garbage I ever seen in my life. It really got to me. The only one that was really professional was the DJ he was good You have carvers on the carving station they look like they were bored to hell with their arms. Chris had a third worker just jibber jabbing I mean, show your professionalism. If you want to hold an event, a major event, Tropicana wouldn't be it Staff would never hold a Tropicana ever.

Yelp
Second time in Atlantic City and chose to stay a bit further South of the boardwalk to explore the surrounding area. The Tropicana is massive with four towers, over 2,000 rooms. The parking garage and the main lobby are on opposite sides, making this not an ideal set up to check-in for the hotel. They do have a mini front desk by the garage, but it's limited in hours and both of the front desks you can expect a wait up to an hour. I had a room in the Havana Tower and this tower needs a renovation ASAP. It is super rundown with wallpapers peeling and busted light shades. The carpeting could use some replacing as it looks past its prime. Requesting extra towels was a pain as the phone didn't work and I had to walk all the way to the main front desk to request it. The casino itself reeks of cigarette smoke. Didn't know they still allowed people to smoke indoors, which I find disgusting and not what I want to be breathing in. It is nice that the whole complex is connected and that there's a good handful of restaurants inside. The main good thing is that it's right in front of the boardwalk, but needed to ask for directions as the exits are a bit hard to find. Given that this is the largest hotel in Atlantic City, it is one of the best value options with all the amenities needed to enjoy a stay in AC, but if you can swing it, I'd recommend staying at the Ocean Resort or Hard Rock Hotel instead for a much nicer stay.
