I stayed here recently for 2 nights with my 6 year old daughter in a glamping pod. We arrived to a friendly welcome and were shown around of the facilities then it was time to check into our pod. It was so well equipped with all we needed for a short stay, was spotlessly clean and bed really comfy! Shower was great. Our pod was so quiet with a lovely outdoor terrace and friendly robin coming to visit which my daughter loved! TV with Netflix was great for the evenings. |We visited the onsite shop and picked up some essentials, loads of choice and nice products to browse, souvenirs to buy, then in the evening had pizza from the on-site pizza kiosk and enjoyed some live music in the bar. Great atmosphere, my daughter loved it! |We travelled into Pooley Bridge which was lovely and did a boat trip from there, and also visited Lake Windermere which was a lovely 40 min drive south. Although we didn’t use the camping facilities, they looked modern and spotless. My only tiny criticism is that the blind on the stargazing window in our pod let in light so we were woken early both mornings, but what a place to wake up in! Will definitely be back!

Absolutely fabulous campsite. Quiet by name and nature! ||The staff were excellent as where the facilities. Pizzas great, breakfast baps great and the pub was lovely, though I didn't spend much time in it. ||I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site to anyone. Hotel level toilet/shower combos and a bath available for those with younger children. ||Staff very kindly posted out my toothbrush to me when him after it was left on the final morning too! Above & beyond!

I’d go as far as to say that this is the best camp site I’ve ever stayed at.|We loved the on-site bar, shop & cafe. |We were impressed with their recycling and environmental efforts. |We enjoyed the very convenient bus service that stops right outside the camp site. |It’s like they’ve thought of everything that would bug you about a normal campsite - and sorted it. |Another thing was the dog walking area, that’s a good touch. |The whole place is mint, all clean and tidy. Has a great vibe. |The staff are brilliant, very responsive to emails/enquiries. Really helpful. |We absolutely loved it. |We stayed in a hobbit hole and it was super, just what we wanted. Almost like a hotel room than camping! |My husband was very impressed with the workmanship that has gone in to the hobbit holes and gingerbread houses. They are all built using top quality materials and such attention to detail. Impressive.

Just back from our second visit to the Quiet Site. A stunning location and excellent facilities. We love the cosy bar (I recommend The Quiet Site gin!) and the children love the Games room with its pool table, air hockey and table football, all for a very reasonable £1 a game. The wood fired pizzas are lovely and the bacon butties and coffee are very welcome for breakfast. |There is a nice shop for essentials - some nice ice cream would be a welcome addition! Especially this year! |The shower block is excellent - the best I have ever seen on a campsite. I saw staff cleaning several times during the day and even at night. |The camping pitches are fully serviced and a good size but you may need levelling blocks - this is a hillside site, which affords great views from every terrace. |The Hoppa bus running every day was a very welcome addition this year. We were in our motorhome and used the bus every day to travel to Pooley Bridge and Howtown. Last year we had to walk our young grandchildren down to the main road to catch a bus during the week and it was too far for young children

We received a two-night camping pod stay as a Virgin Experience gift. This is definitely the best camp site we have stayed at. The site was well presented, peaceful and had great views. On-site, the facilities were excellent, including the bar, Quiet Bite and the shower facilities (these were always clean and readily available) The location was perfect for exploring Ullswater and surrounding areas. We will definitely be recommending this to friends and would love to return in the future, either to camp or stay in one of the glamping units.

A quick two night stay in one of the glamping burrows with my cousin and my dog to enjoy the walking accessible from the door. Burrow was perfect for us with a fridge and kettle as well as a toilet for our middle aged bladders. Absolutely spotless and very roomy - could easily have accommodated 4. The wee deck and picnic table outside was perfect and the views are stunning. We also enjoyed beers and pizza on our return. This was my second stay at this site (previously camped) and it definitely won't be the last. The best facilities I've seen having camped literally around the globe and the staff are also the kindest, happiest and most helpful.

Came here for a family camping holiday 20 years ago. Decided to return with my partner this year. Despite the obvious time and expected changes this site has lost none of its charm. Located just off Ullswater with some of the best walking & scenic views this place takes second place to no one. On arrival I thought I had booked a grass pitch but it was gravel/grass mix, Staff explained to me that all camping pitches are a mix of gravel and grass due to being an all year round site. (Had I actually read the confirmation email I would have known this) Staff then proceeded to supply me with an additional ground sheet to protect my own and gravel pegs. Can't fault them even though it was my fault. Staff are amazing, helpful & good fun. Pizzas from site are amazing. Bar staff are talkative and engaging. Each toilet is a self contained bathroom with sink shower and toilet. (Something I've never seen anywhere else) My only criticism is toilets and showers aren't made for taller men. 6"2+. Many of the toilets are too close to the wall and and showers could be 3' higher. However having stayed in many 5* hotels making the same mistake I can't mark down a campsite. I can't comment on the accommodation as I brought my own.

Got virgin experience voucher for my birthday gift to booked here. It was my first time arrived in Lake district. We fell in love with beauitful place also we were stayed at camping pod, it was amazing experience for me and my husband at camping pod as my 7 years old daughter love it and will be good for her to prepare for her school trip in the future. Homemade pizza and bar are so delicious. There are plenty of showers, which is so luxury also so impressed that there is got a baby bath too. We will definitely come back in the future and thank you to the lovely staff - an excellent communication and great service to patient with deaf customer.

Yelp
This is a brilliant site for people who don't want the parties, the crowds and hustle and bustle of some other sites. The site is what it is called and this is what attracted us. Don't get me wrong or think I'm being boring as we like to party and have a good laugh as much as anyone else it's just we have an 18 month old baby and therefore this quieter site therefore suits us. The site has many awards under its belt and also has its own pub what is an absolute must. The bar is an old barn and all are welcome including dogs. It has pretty good facilities including good showers and the on site shop gets you away with any essentials you may have forgotten about. The views are good over Ullswater what is about 1 mile down hill. In general the site is small, low key, dog friendly, not over run by kids, quiet site and in a good location.

Yelp
Pleasantly supprised. This is a quaint little site providing ample room for tents mobile caravans statics and camping pods. There is a pub on site which sells local beer and lager however the owners are missing out on the fact they could make a mint if they started selling bar food or meals. Our weekend was really nice however there were quite a lot of children running around the site making noise during the day when there is a playing field provided. I havent a problem with this but the parents should have more respect for other people who are here to relax. Overall we liked the site and will definately be coming again. Close to pooley bridge and penrith. Keswick is easy half hour drive.

Yelp
Not really being a fan of camping my wife and I decided to give it a go and booked a Pod for a midweek break at the end of July. The only let down was the weather, the campsite was extremely friendly and the facility were very clean. To make me even happier there was a superb bar on site that sold local real ale. I'm still not convinced that camping is for me, but if I'm going to give it another try I'll certainly head back to The Quiet Site.
