We have just returned from staying in a glamping burrow for a couple of nights. Check in was very quick, easy and informative by a lovely lady whose name i did not catch. We drove up to the burrow and unpacked, there is a little incline up to the burrow but the steps are well lit in the evenings, the views were spectacular as the burrows are at the top of the site. The burrow was massive, with a fridge, microwave, 4 double electric points (with USB), toilet, wash basin and outdoor furniture. The shower block was one of the best I have seen on a camping site, the cubicles had a walk in shower, toilet and wash basin and were beautifully clean. We went to the amazing bar, it is like stepping back in time, it was superb. Owen who worked behind the bar was funny and very friendly. We had a pizza from The Bite, it was ok. It was a little pricey for what we got, but tasted fine and was made to order. That would be my only slight negative from the whole stay, It would be nice if there were just a few more options for food to buy. The site in general was kept immaculately clean, and all the staff we had any dealings with had a smile on their face. I am already looking to book our next stay and would 100% recommend it if you want to get away from it all for a few days.

Firstly, we love the Quiet Site, we used to have a touring caravan, which we put on here for the Winter Season quite a few times. The site is lovely, and we love the area. We have just got back from a 2 night stay in a ginger bread house this time. The facilities are great in these little houses. The only reason I've given a 4 rating is the fact it was just so hot, which was lovely during the day but at night as a family of 4 there weren't enough windows for ventilation at night. We kept the door open as much as possible, but this let a lot of flies in. In winter, I can imagine it would be lovely and cosy, I would just avoid in very warm summer temps. None of us slept very well, unfortunately.

Pitched our tent here for a 3 night stay. Absolutely beautiful - views and facilities. Really helpful staff. We did gorgeous big walks to pooley bridge and aria force, played games and listened to music in the pub at night. Great pizza and breakfasts. Will definitely be back.

What a beautiful site! From the moment you drive up, you’re made to feel welcome. The staff are so attentive and will do anything for you. The quiet site is so well maintained with staff constantly cleaning and pottering around to make sure it maintains its beauty. ||They have a great outdoor hut which sells breakfast on the morning then converts on the afternoon where they sell the most delicious pizzas (all freshly made) |The pub is so pretty which opens from 7pm. They have live entertainment on a Sunday evening who was brilliant while we were there. ||The facilities are amazing, beautiful and modern shower rooms (even the dogs get a shower room haha) they also have a mini kitchen for the guests to use with fridge and freezers, toasters and microwave along with a water dispenser. They also have washers and tumble dryers (we didn’t use this, but a fab idea if you stay longer than we did) ||There is also a bus that takes you to different locations which i believe stops right outside the site , although we didn’t use this so can’t comment fully but looks a great service. ||If you’re thinking of your next stay in the lakes I would highly recommend here. We will certainly be back again ☺️ |Thank you The Quiet Site

Came here for a family camping holiday 20 years ago. Decided to return with my partner this year. Despite the obvious time and expected changes this site has lost none of its charm. Located just off Ullswater with some of the best walking & scenic views this place takes second place to no one. On arrival I thought I had booked a grass pitch but it was gravel/grass mix, Staff explained to me that all camping pitches are a mix of gravel and grass due to being an all year round site. (Had I actually read the confirmation email I would have known this) Staff then proceeded to supply me with an additional ground sheet to protect my own and gravel pegs. Can't fault them even though it was my fault. Staff are amazing, helpful & good fun. Pizzas from site are amazing. Bar staff are talkative and engaging. Each toilet is a self contained bathroom with sink shower and toilet. (Something I've never seen anywhere else) My only criticism is toilets and showers aren't made for taller men. 6"2+. Many of the toilets are too close to the wall and and showers could be 3' higher. However having stayed in many 5* hotels making the same mistake I can't mark down a campsite. I can't comment on the accommodation as I brought my own.

We visit the Quiet Site regularly to stay in our caravan - our happy place! The site is fantastic (the best we have ever stayed at) and nothing is too much trouble for all the lovely staff. We love the spotless facilities, delicious pizzas, bar and the wonderful views around the site - our little boy loves the air hockey! There is so much to do close by, whatever the weather - this really is a special place!

We have just come home from a 3 night stay and we are over the moon we chose this site to stay on. On arrival we where warmly welcomed and the gentleman took his time to explain about all the facilities available and any useful information. We then proceeded to our camping pod and was taken back by the breath taking views our pod had! The outside space and car space where an added bonus! The pod itself was very clean and roomy. We had very high winds and heavy rain the first night but we where kept warm and dry in the lovely heated pod. All facilities where nice and clean and had everything you needed! Family bathrooms where a life saver ! We spent every evening in the on site bar which was absolutely beautiful. Family board games readily available which was a lovely touch and really brought us together as a family for the evening after a long day exploring. The fresh pizzas we ate in the bar are the best pizzas we have tried ! Definitely worth a try! All staff we spoke to where extremely polite and helpful! Lastly, the pricing! We where extremely surprised just how reasonably everything was priced, drinks in the bar, pizzas and groceries! Even the mini bus was cheap! Nothing in our opinion was over priced! My only recommendation would be to maybe add some bamboo/wooden bathroom mats as the bathrooms get very wet after the shower !

We'd booked a hobbit hole but the day before we arrived we had an email saying we'd been upgraded to a gingerbread house. This house had everything we needed and was very clean. (We were aware that we had to take our own bedding). |The site itself is at the top of a hill giving beautiful views over Ullswater and the hills behind. We bought food and drink from The Quiet Bar and Quiet Bite, which we really enjoyed, and the shop is well stocked.|The staff were all lovely and we received regular emails with updates throughout our stay.

Yelp
This is a brilliant site for people who don't want the parties, the crowds and hustle and bustle of some other sites. The site is what it is called and this is what attracted us. Don't get me wrong or think I'm being boring as we like to party and have a good laugh as much as anyone else it's just we have an 18 month old baby and therefore this quieter site therefore suits us. The site has many awards under its belt and also has its own pub what is an absolute must. The bar is an old barn and all are welcome including dogs. It has pretty good facilities including good showers and the on site shop gets you away with any essentials you may have forgotten about. The views are good over Ullswater what is about 1 mile down hill. In general the site is small, low key, dog friendly, not over run by kids, quiet site and in a good location.

Yelp
Pleasantly supprised. This is a quaint little site providing ample room for tents mobile caravans statics and camping pods. There is a pub on site which sells local beer and lager however the owners are missing out on the fact they could make a mint if they started selling bar food or meals. Our weekend was really nice however there were quite a lot of children running around the site making noise during the day when there is a playing field provided. I havent a problem with this but the parents should have more respect for other people who are here to relax. Overall we liked the site and will definately be coming again. Close to pooley bridge and penrith. Keswick is easy half hour drive.

Yelp
Not really being a fan of camping my wife and I decided to give it a go and booked a Pod for a midweek break at the end of July. The only let down was the weather, the campsite was extremely friendly and the facility were very clean. To make me even happier there was a superb bar on site that sold local real ale. I'm still not convinced that camping is for me, but if I'm going to give it another try I'll certainly head back to The Quiet Site.
