The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat

We had a fantastic stay at The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat in Belfast. The facilities are lovely, the atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and even the hotel dog was a highlight 🐶.||All of the staff were extremely attentive and polite, but a special mention has to go to the young concierge who absolutely bent over backwards to sort a small issue for us — customer service like that really makes a difference.||The beds were extremely comfy (honestly some of the best I’ve slept in), although the room was just a tiny bit chilly. The spa was superb and incredible value for money, especially as you can use it as much as you like throughout your stay — such a bonus. The little touches were brilliant too, from the rabbit flip flops to the quirky out-of-office luggage tags.||Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and everything we tried was very good. The location is also ideal, being so close to the airport.||Drinks and food are on the expensive side, and it would really help if prices were clearly displayed on menus, particularly the spa menu, so guests know what to expect.||Overall, we loved the attention to detail and would absolutely recommend The Rabbit — we’d happily return.

I have been fortunate enough to have visited Spas across the world, and I can honestly say yesterday’s experience at the Rabbit Hotel Spa was one of the best experiences I’ve had. All my colleagues completely agree, the venue and the facilities were second to none, but most importantly, the staff were exceptional! From the reception staff to the therapists and our servers in the restaurant – everyone who engaged with us was very warm, helpful, and engaging. I would highly recommend.

We stayed at your hotel as part of the Festive Getaway package and paid extra for an upgraded room and a private jacuzzi, bringing the total cost to €482, plus an additional £20 for a late check-out. After checking out, we felt that for this price, the overall experience could have been much better. The highlight of our stay was the dinner — the food was very tasty and the restaurant staff were extremely friendly and professional. Unfortunately, there were many disappointing aspects. At check-in, although the reception staff were polite, no one explained the spa facilities or what was included in our package. The spa area is very small, yet the hotel and spa were clearly overbooked. After spending 1.5–2 hours in the spa, there was nowhere to relax. All jacuzzis and the pool were overcrowded, and the saunas had around ten people at a time, which made us feel uncomfortable and far from relaxed. The package included a clay ritual, but after paying extra for the private jacuzzi, we were unable to use the clay ritual, despite it being included. Overall, the package did not feel like good value, and the chocolates and cookies provided were nothing special. The room was cold, and the air conditioning could not be adjusted. The heated beach area was open to the outside the entire time, making it cold inside. People were wet, robes were soaked, and no one informed us whether fresh, clean, dry robes were available. Because of this, we did not use the spa the following morning, which also meant that the late check-out we paid extra for was not used, as we didn’t want to get wet and risk getting cold. Additionally, cocktail prices were very high, adding to the feeling that the hotel is overpriced.

Had a one night stay here on 20.12.25, courtesy of my husband for my birthday. The only real negative thing to report is the mattress was a hard as a rock, we both woke with a sore back, such a shame. I had a treatment in the spa (facial) it was amazing. We also availed of the clay ritual, it was ?ok - not worth the price tag though. The spa itself is quirky, we really enjoyed it (albeit cold going between facilities due to being outdoors and winter!). The bar was expensive yes, but we have no complaints really. The food was absolutely delicious with quick service, we had 3 course meal and breakfast. No complaints regarding the staff throughout the hotel, but I do feel they could have been a bit more friendly to be totally honest. Apart from mattress issue, our room was cozy, with a mini Christmas tree in it which I thought was a lovely touch.

The hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas, but for a 4 star hotel the service wasn’t what you would expect. |There is a mini bar in the room which you have to pay for ( they inform you of this, in their sister hotel minibar is complimentary) however there was two bottles of water left on the bedside tables, which you would assume are complimentary as they are not in the fridge, they are not I was charged €8:50 for a 500ml bottle of ballygowan water, I thought this was outrageous , most budget hotels now give complimentary bottles of water, when paying €300 a night you expect to atleast get a bottle of water in the room. |The spa is small and then there was 10 people in it you couldn’t use anything only the big sauna as everything else was full. |There is only one bar and the lunch menu and dinner menu are the same so for lunch we ended up just having a starter for lunch and having a main course in the evening, again over price a chicken fillet and sauce £25 with no side. |Overall nice hotel but not worth the money.

So me and a friend stayed in the rabbit hotel, the girl at reception when we first came in was lovely and helpful. |It was snowing and freezing and our room had an outdoor bath tub which we couldn’t even use which was upsetting.||Outdoor bar staff were fab also, the food was okay but way overpriced, drinks were way over priced also and I’m 100% sure they are watered down. ||Bad points ||We had around 5/6 cocktails each while out in the heated pool and il a light weight and didn’t feel at all tispsy or nothing, then at dinner a hour later, I had pint, 3 west coast coolers and then 1 vodka and lemonade and then 2 double vodkas with lemonade, again didn’t feel tipsy at all. Was strange how we weren’t allowed to order at bar had to be table service so I couldn’t even see what they were putting in my drink. ||Bathroom in room, the toilet roll holder was broke, my mirror for doing my make up had finger prints all over it, glass in the shower was dirty. For a £330 room for one night I’d think it be a bit more up to standard. ||When in the pool and getting out while it’s snowing and -degrees we had to go into the we sand/beach room were our robes and towels were to keep dry there was heaters but they didn’t have them turned on and was freezing, the paths weren’t salted and I did slip walking past the mud rooms. ||On way out the girl working at the reception was very very rude, our towels all got soaked from the snow etc and after my mud experience there was clean fresh towels so I left my soaking wet one there and took the fresh dry one. As it was snowing and freezing the wet one I had was uncomfortable. I give her the blue one at reception and she made me pay £25 for the yellow towel which I left in the mud room! ||Don’t recommend at all|Booked this through booking.com and have been charged by them £330 and the rabbit charged me £330 also which is a fault on there end and haven’t yet been able to get my money back from one of them as I shouldn’t been charged by both sites.||Yes the spa etc is nice, but definitely something going on with the drinks as we did pay £180 on cocktails, then in the bar £100+ and didn’t feel tipsy at all! |Bring your own drink if anyone is thinking of going as they are definitely robbing everyone

I had a Spa Boxing day experience as a Christmas gift. This was amazing the staff were so helpfull and nothing was too much trouble. The tratments were extremely relaxing and not rushed. The teams knowledge were great. This was topped with the delicious food and stunning decore. If you have not booked whats stopping you!
