5 dining and drinking spots to check out along the central Rail Corridor - SilverKris

"A hybrid gourmet grocer and modern European bistro located at the Rail Mall beside one of the central Rail Corridor entrances near Hillview MRT; recommended as a brunch endpoint (try the roasted prawns or grilled Mediterranean sea bream) and a place to pick up artisanal bakes and groceries before heading home." - Dannon Har

I give this "mall" 5*, because admittedly, I am biased - I live "nearby" at Dairy Farm Estate; just under 10 minutes walk away from my door to Rail Mall. While it is called a "Mall" it is not the usual kind of mall in Singapore. It is simply a row of several blocks of shops with much history to it, although the shops were originally housing for plantation workers, if I am not mistaken. Anyway it is hugely popular "Mall" because it is strategically located next to a nature park, a conserved rail corridor and an MRT Station with many public buses plying along side of it. As for the composition of the shops at Rail Mall, I would say about 80 percent of it are most F&B outlets with some "branded" ones among them. And there is a Cold Storage (albeit now occupying a small premises than before), a dental clinic, a medical clinic, a curio shop and a to be opened pet shop. Car parking here CAN be free of charge, as there is also paid car parking here.

Today really wasn’t a good day for an outdoor walk, I nearly melted out there, haha! In the end, we decided to hit up the cat café instead. The cats were absolutely adorable, but honestly, the food was just okay. I skipped the green tea can to save some space for cake and coffee later. All in all, it turned out to be a pretty good day!

Rows of shophouse that housed many eateries, restaurants and cafes. There is a wide variety of food available, local food to Italian food as well. There is a cold storage at one end of the mall. Ample parking space available and some are free parking, which allow customer to park at no cost. During weekend, after a lot of people will pop by the mall after their leisure walk around the park. Good location to stroll during the weekend.

Unique mall design, with some interesting murals. Lots of eateries here. Great place to visit if you are visiting the Rail Corridor.

An interesting neighbourhood. Rural looking houses lines the backdrop seen in between lanes in amongst aircon-ed shops. Opposite you can see the old railway track above the road. Heard this place is tearing down soon.

What a lovely place! They have a good variety of cafe and restaurants including Coffee bean and Spring leaf prata. They even have cold storage super market. Overall a good 3 hours time to have a meal and do grocery shopping.

A must-visit place in Singapore, this place gives me a feeling that I visited food stalls in the United States as all the food stalls are located on the 1st floor. If you want to escape from the usual crowd in the regular malls, this is the best place I recommend to visit to peacefully enjoy your food popular Chinese vegetarian/vegan stalls are available as an option.

Set against the backdrop of Bukit Timah Hill and with easy access to the Green Corridor, the place is perfect as a pitstop or gathering point when you want to explore nature on foot or via a bicycle. Grab coffee and breakfast at Toastbox or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, get your supply of snacks and bottled drinks at Cold Storage or 7-Eleven, or enjoy a hearty meal at one of the many restaurants/eateries. There is also a tap-room for local brew to end a nice evening. Parking can be challenging during meal times or when people are dropping off their kids at the educational center onsite.
