Top notch on food service and ambience. Been there for both lunch and dinner and would recommend dinner if you would like an experience that includes a traditional Indian dance performance .

Such a beautiful place that serves as the speciality restaurant of Taj Connemara. If Clubhouse was known for its Northern Indian Mughlai delights with beyond Indus, this place stars for its traditional Tamil Nadu home cuisine in Connemara Unlike southern spice, this place is strictly focused on only one state in the south that is our Tamil Nadu. A variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian traditional delights from all over the state. You can explore the authentic Tamil cuisine in a very classical Tamil themed atmosphere. I had the Manga Meen Kuzhambu, a raw mango fish curry with tamarind, garlic and shallots. In my opinion it is the most perfect kind of gravy to pair with fish, and the restaurant executed it beautifully. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Their paruppu urundai Kuzhambu (lentil balls in gravy) was also surprisingly tasty and rich. Appams are their speciality, and were top notch along with the Idiyappams. Porotta could be improved, can be made more flakier and softer. The ambience is elegant and beautiful and the second you walk in, you are hit with the vibe of a chettinadu or any other traditional Tamil place. The pond in the middle with the live dancers makes it feel genuinely so authentic and homely. The staff is ever so polite and helpful and ensured excellent service. They explained everything well and catered to needs in time. The chef prepared dishes according to the minor tweaks required and we were all satisfied. Overall it’s a banging good experience for a five star place. The price is high but it’s five star, and it definitely delivered. Good quality food with top notch service in a very elegant themed ambience, Raintree hit all the right notes.

My husband and I made reservations on a Sunday evening with Raintree and were served by Nitha, Stephanie and Mari. The staff were very attentive and made sure to check in on us often to see if we needed anything or had any questions. The food was delicious and had a nice presentation, with staff explaining each item on the tasting menu and providing suggestions on pairings. The restaurant had a calm, peaceful and romantic atmosphere with dim lighting, soft instrumental music and a water fountain in the middle of the restaurant. I'd recommend this restaurant and I am appreciative of the courteous and helpful staff!

Great eatout experience with family dining to relax, enjoy and have food. Service was really slow but food quality was really nice. We went with South Indian Thali and so soup was melagu rasam, starters were kuzhi panniyaram, Kozhukattai etc. Worth for money cannot we can't say exactly because this is a Taj hotel and so it is one of an experience to dine in and have food here. We can find these type of food outside as well but experience is what makes a big difference.

My Venky was such a gentleman. His suggestion was on point. And the ambience mind blowing. The path to the restaurant from the room is itself an experience! The complementary rasam was amazing.

Great ambience, well trained and friendly staff. Food was very good. Got to taste samples of each preparation in both veg and non veg. Special mention to Mr Robert, Mr Venkatesh and Mr Ajay for taking care of us well and being attentive to our needs. Will recommend, however go with a big appetite as the portions served are very filling.

Fantastic experience dining at the Raintree in Taj Connemara. Chef Vinod and his staff took great effort to make our dining experience a memorable one. The food is simply outstanding. The authentic Chettinad dishes standout. We tried the a la carte menu with Meen Manga kozhambu & Vazhappoo paruppu urundai kozhambu. They were both delectable, perfect balance of flavour, spice and texture. The thamarai thandu varuval and navadaniya vadai as starters were so good and leave you wanting more and more of it. The elaneer payasam is really Chef special and has the right balance of sweet, milkiness and a lovely lingering coconutty after taste. The staff surprised us with a special cake as it was our anniversary dinner. Thank you Vinod & staff! Overall great place with great staff and even greater food. Definitely recommend !
