The Raintree, St Mary's Road

Stayed here for around 11 nights on a trip to Chennai earlier this year and safe to say I won’t be staying anywhere else in the future! I love the hospitality of this hotel, and could not recommend it enough. Rooms are spacious and modern, breakfast buffet is great, and the staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a good stay. There’s a small but functional gym which I used quite a bit, as well as a pool that I didn’t get a chance to try. Again, would like to emphasize the staff in this property are amazing and make you feel so welcomed. They even surprised us with a chocolate cake on my final days breakfast, so sweet! Very NRI and foreigner friendly. Go ahead and book your stay here, you will not regret it!

Amazing hotel with a super kind and caring team. The hotel makes us feeling at home. The breakfast always fresh and healthy with opportunities between Pongal and Croissants . Yummy. Sometimes the sunyside up egg doesn’t appear. But it’s always corrected in a most polite and authentic way. Great experience!

Currently staying here at Raintree Hotel, Chennai, and the experience has been excellent so far. The staff are attentive and friendly, the rooms are well-kept, and the food has been delicious with plenty of choices. Really enjoying the warm hospitality and comfort here!

This 5 star hotel is located on the main road which makes it easy to find. Attended the conference in one of their banquet halls. The staff is well trained and courteous. The banquet hall is spacious and can easily hold a crowd of 100 people. The guests were offered welcome drinks. The arrangements for the presentation were done appropriately . The food served is good and they have a wide spread for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian . They have good options in dessert . Overall a good experience provided by this property .

Great place to stay. The road being one way is a pain. The mirror in the room is not positioned well to get a proper illumination. Food in the Oriental restaurant was amazing and the breakfast buffet spread was also very good.|Power interruptions were sometimes not backed up by generator supply immediately. Perhaps the auto changoever switch did not function.

Returning to this location after eight years, I was hoping for the same 5star experience I once enjoyed. Unfortunately, it’s not quite what it used to be, and the property is beginning to show its age.On a positive note, the staff were warm and courteous throughout—from the reception to the restaurant team. Their professionalism and friendliness was a highlight of the stay.The restaurant manager Nazim was helpful. However, the room was disappointing. Upon entering, there was a strong musty odor. When I mentioned this to the front desk, I was told all the rooms have this smell and that it would dissipate in about 10 minutes—but unfortunately, it lingered. It seems guests may simply become accustomed to it over time. Not me.. lol.The Colony restaurant offered a decent breakfast, though dinner not that much. It felt overcrowded and cramped, and the buffet menu was not the greatest, with food quality was just average.The key strengths of this location remain its convenient setting, friendly staff, and ample parking. With some updates and improvements, it could once again live up to its former reputation.

Started with a late check-in, even though I arrived only at 12:30. Angrily left for a lunch and when I came back at 1:10pm, still saw my bags lying at the reception. Got late for my official meetings because of this. In the room, got an evidently dirty towel (had brown marks, which I hope are foundation!) and got greeted by houseflies. I complained and left for my meetings. When I came back at 7:30, the towel was not changed, no new towel and the bathroom was not cleaned again, even after I told them to before leaving. Oh, and they don't seem to clean the top of cabinets, by this time, I had lost all hope in expecting anything better.||At 9 pm, they were gracious enough to offer me moving to another room. I didn't.||The only saving grace is their breakfast.
