The Raintree, St Mary's Road

Modern and comfortable facilities. The rooms, the beds, the gym, and the restaurants are all fully equipped and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was probably the highlight, with a large selection from local indian cuisine. Service was top too! I definitely recommend this place. One small downside is the location: it is a very upscale area, with large streets and lots of green, but a taxi is needed for most places of interest (I guess this is normal in a big city though). The other downside is that the breakfast area fills up very quickly. I was once sent for breakfast to a different area (to the restaurant below the lobby), where there were no other guests though. However, the stuff was great and always did their best to help.

This 5 star hotel is located on the main road which makes it easy to find. Attended the conference in one of their banquet halls. The staff is well trained and courteous. The banquet hall is spacious and can easily hold a crowd of 100 people. The guests were offered welcome drinks. The arrangements for the presentation were done appropriately . The food served is good and they have a wide spread for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian . They have good options in dessert . Overall a good experience provided by this property .

Returning to this location after eight years, I was hoping for the same 5star experience I once enjoyed. Unfortunately, it’s not quite what it used to be, and the property is beginning to show its age.On a positive note, the staff were warm and courteous throughout—from the reception to the restaurant team. Their professionalism and friendliness was a highlight of the stay.The restaurant manager Nazim was helpful. However, the room was disappointing. Upon entering, there was a strong musty odor. When I mentioned this to the front desk, I was told all the rooms have this smell and that it would dissipate in about 10 minutes—but unfortunately, it lingered. It seems guests may simply become accustomed to it over time. Not me.. lol.The Colony restaurant offered a decent breakfast, though dinner not that much. It felt overcrowded and cramped, and the buffet menu was not the greatest, with food quality was just average.The key strengths of this location remain its convenient setting, friendly staff, and ample parking. With some updates and improvements, it could once again live up to its former reputation.

Inspite of few negative incidents during our stay here , I must praise the hotel employees of all departments. Like Bickram & Minituel from Housekeeping. They were always ready to fulfill our need , never annoyed, instead of their work pressure. Cleaned the room very well as we wanted . We are really satisfied. They are valuable staff of the hotel. We wish you all the best. Thanks.

We had a very pleasant stay at Rain Tree for a couple of days. We enjoyed the lovely breakfast and comfortable room. Notable was the awesome service from the very sweet and hardworking staff such as Rajasekar Neha Sunita Sowmiya and many others! Will definitely be staying here on our next Chennai trip 💌

Had a very good stay at this property. Located in a prime location, it’s easily accessible. ||Had a chance to visit their Chinese restaurant as well. Food was amazing, especially their live counter wherein you get to choose your own ingredients. ||Overall Experience: 4/5

During my stay at The Raintree, St. Mary’s Road, I had a wonderful dining experience, thanks to Chef Bhavani’s expertise in curating the buffet. Each meal was thoughtfully prepared, with a great variety of flavors that catered to different tastes. One of the standout experiences was trying her special congee drink—it was warm, soothing, and packed with subtle yet rich flavors, making it a perfect start to the day. I had the opportunity to meet Chef Bhavani, and her passion for food was evident in the way she spoke about her dishes. She ensured that every item on the buffet was fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. Her dedication and warmth added a personal touch to my stay, making the dining experience truly special.

This was my second time staying at the Raintree Chennai, it was a lovely and comfortable stay. Mr Karthik from housekeeping was extremely helpful in retrieving and returning out item that we had left behind. He went out of his way to courier the items to us. The commitment and dedication to work is truly amazing. I'm definitely going back to this property and would recommend it to everyone. Our sincere thanks to Mr.Karthik
