Lovely place, stayed there a few nights prior to my Spine Race adventure. Food was really good and the proprietors and all the staff were great, nothing was a problem them. Good selection of beers too 👍 The room I was in was ok, single glazing not so handy in January. No heating in the bathroom made for a quick visit 😂

After coming down from Mam Tor absolutely exhausted, we stopped here thinking it might be expensive because of the countryside location. Paying £16 for a Mam Tor burger and about £4.50 for onion rings did sting a little at first - but that feeling disappeared the moment the food arrived. Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, and the onion rings were unreal - perfectly cooked, crispy, and full of flavour. Honestly, it turned into one of my best food memories ever. Exactly what you need after a long hike: hearty, comforting, and done properly. Worth every penny. Would 100% come back after another walk.

Good location, but awful food. Run out of pie so I ordered the chicken burger (they only had literally like 5 things on the menu), it was a proper microwave job, the sort of bread you get served in school dinner lunches and those packet fries lol. Said microwave must be a bit dodgy, as the edges of the chicken in the burger were lukewarm but the middle was so scorching hot it fully burnt my mouth when I bit into it, which hurt for the remainder of the evening and I couldn't really finish the meal as a result as my tongue was throbbing.

Insanely busy (perhaps because the only other pub in the area has decided to be closed for the entire of Jan lol, nice one), squeezed on the end of a long table sharing. Multiple things on the menu had run out, no pies, and the menu is limited to begin with (no fish and chips for example, in a country pub... What?) Dread to think what it'd be like on a hot summers day in school holidays. This was a random day in Jan and the inside was so busy that people were sat *outside* in the beer garden and ordering / eating food out there in -5c snowy conditions because they had no other option. 3 stars because the Guinness was good and staff friendly enough.

Leaving this review to say thank you to the amazing staff members at this pub who made sure I was okay when I wasn’t feeling well. They were very kind and accommodating, offering me peppermint tea to settle my stomach and also boxing up my food to take home. Everyone else I was with thoroughly enjoyed their meals. After we had left, my dad had forgotten his waterproof trousers there, and one of their staff walked all the way to the train station to find us and hand them back. Lovely place and lovely people, highly recommend. Sorry I didn’t get the name of the woman that helped us but thank you if you see this!

Good location near Edale train station. Friendly and helpful staff. The Amber ale and the signature Ruby ale were both quite nice. Unfortunately, the food was a bit of a let down.

We enjoyed our overnight visit . The staff were helpful and very pleasant. The dining room was a little “ shabby” and although I saw the staff clean tables with a spray bottle and cloth they were a little “ sticky”. Could probably do with a deep clean. The food was very good although if you ask for Caesar salad ask for the dressing on the side as it was too much. Large hearty portions, freshly cooked and there is a good selection.

Yelp
You know you are in for a warm welcome when the pub has a sign outside saying 'families, dogs and muddy boots welcome'. A good selection of beers on offer, including the Ginger Marble Ale, which is what I chose to accompany my roast dinner. The meat was a bit fatty, but the portion size was decent enough and arrived on our table just as our feet were warming up from our walk in the Peak District. There was a full menu of what I like to call 'proper food' aswell as snacks and sandwiches and what quite a few vegetarian dishes too. Small carpark out front, but with the Inn being situated next door to the Hope Railway station, there is ample parking close by.

Yelp
The place to be in that part of the peak district. The village of Edale amounts to a few houses, lots of campings, and hoards of sheep. However, that pub stands out as a great mansion, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Overall, the drinks are more expensive than you would expect for such an isolated area. Blame it on the tourists, or on the tricky logistics ! The food is good. Our orders were also messed up, as I received a lamb burger with coleslaw, which I didn't want, and it came before the soup we took for starters... The burger lacked some taste, though... The potato mash was very rich and velvety, which suited the beef and ale pie perfectly. The carrot and coriander soup was also a great start to our dinner... The best moment ? Getting the last rays of sunlight in the huge garden, while reading books on one of their round tables.
