The Rec Hotel, Northam

The Triple deluxe room was fantastic. Neat, clean, well set up and and presented. Myself and my two daughters were very happy with the room and the beds were really comfortable. Highly recommend. We also ate dinner with our local friends and enjoyed delicious meals and drinks at the restaurant. The service at the restaurant was excellent.

Went for Steak night. Service is always lovely here, the staff can’t help enough and are very pleasant. Great country feel and lovely steak for both of us. Heaters were on this cold night which made the stay pleasant and warm. Had a few games of pool. We both won a game each so will be back for the decider.

Amazing service! We were accommodated for, even though our booking didnt go through. Bartender was great and waitstaff were so lovely!! Food was amazing.Well done team! Will be back 1000%

We were very pleasantly surprised by our stay at The Rec. We arrived really late at night due to flight issues and they provided us out of hours access, which was easy to follow (we didn't realise our room was in a complex across the road but found it eventually). The room was super clean and modern and had a huge array of mini bar items, which would have been very handy if we had not bought our own stuff given our unexpected late arrival. Bed and pillows comfy, amenities all great. Would recommend a stay here.

We used to love coming to The Rec, but sadly the last few visits have been really disappointing. Tonight was the final straw — we waited over an hour and a half with absolutely no communication or updates about the delay. Not even an apology. When the food finally arrived, it was the wrong order. I politely asked for it to be taken back, but the staff member looked at me like it was my fault. No explanation or follow-up, and no apology when the correct meal eventually came out — it was just dropped on the table without a word. I really wanted to give The Rec another chance, but it’s clear the standard has dropped. The food was bland, the salad tasted off, and the lack of customer service or care was really disappointing. I won’t be returning, which is honestly quite sad given how much we used to enjoy this place.

Great spot, sometimes some ingredients are missing in the menu items but all in all nice atmosphere, affordable & the staff are always lovely. Still a place I'll regularly return to. Bring back the smokers section however.

lovely old hotel. we had a private room for a birthday gathering. nothing to hard for the staff...friendly and helpful. food was delicious.

Great place for dinner with the family, or just a few drinks with friends. The service was excellent and atmosphere was great. A little something for everyone.
