The best gourmet food in town. It feels like family when you go to the Red Apron. Ottawa is so lucky to have a place like this. You can come in on a Saturday relax and enjoy great food, and cheese cake. The best cheese cake in Ottawa. And the prices are amazing. If you haven't visited yet, it is a must. ❤️

Google
A great selection of freshly prepared homemade meals. Portions are decent. Prices, I'd say, are on the high side for what it is. The thing I find somewhat annoying about them, is I bought some of their meals for a quick & easy lunch when I'm working from home, but all the preparation directions require you to thaw the food before baking it. If I'm buying frozen, prepped burritos to throw in the oven quickly for an easy lunch because I didn't have the foresight to make anything, remembering to fully thaw it first also feels like, for the price, it's not as convenient as I'd expect, when I am essentially paying for convenience.

Great food! At first glance, it seems to be a bit pricy, but portions are more than enough and can be divided for the next time. Quality is also excelent and you can taste a home-made flavour. The customer service staff are very friendly. I forgot my wallet at the counter, and when I went to get it the next day, the person who brought it to me was as worried as I was.

I’m not vegan but the vegan cupcake (or muffin) with raspberry icing was so amazingly good!!!

This place is my go to prepped meals as an entrepreneur and single dad with little time. The meals are top quality, good ingredients and well priced for the quantity. Staff is excellent! Don’t sleep on this hidden gem.

Healthy options place, not all of food are organic but they do use organic ingredients. Variety of everything and mostly salads which I love. They use a very super fresh vegetables which I saw it and photo it. Love the freshness and the taste of my food. First time but not last. Highly recommended if you searching for something special, fresh, and healthy.

Recently enjoyed 2 frozen chicken dishes, thawed overnight for the dinner the next day. So enjoyable, also so great to know they are supporting local farms. Love to support local businesses! Shout out to RA FAM 💜

One of my favorite spots in the entire city. The agg shell pesto chicken pasta is simple and delicious. Also the teryakiychrimp with rice is awesome. Great service and solid deserts as well.

Yelp
TLDR: Cute shop that sells frozen meals and desserts, artisan jams and other spreads. They also have fresh baked goods, coffee and soup. Their Ham and Cheese Scones are amazing! I stopped by The Red Apron to check it out. It's a cute shop that sells primarily frozen meals that you just need to stick in the oven. They also have frozen pies, cakes and other desserts. Prices are similar to those of fully prepared and plated meals at restaurants. They have artisan products like jams, salad dressing, nuts and crackers. They also have fresh baked goods, coffee and soup. I saw a few prepackaged sandwiches in the fridge. I did not see any hot ready-to-eat meals though. I grabbed a few ham and cheese scones ($4.25 each). They were delicious! They were full of cheese, cubes of ham, and chopped chives. And there was extra cheese on top too! Very tasty. Worth all the calories, lol. Service was courteous. There's bar seating inside along a window, and they have lots of outside patio seating, which would be great to grab a coffee and baked treat and catch up with friends. The ambiance is cafe/coffee shop-like. They have their own private parking lot for customers, which is free, so you don't have to worry about paid street parking. (94)

Yelp
We have been buying frozen meals at the Red Apron for years, at the old and the new locations. These meals make up a large fraction of our diet. They are generally tasty and of good quality. It's great that you have vegetarian options. But I would make one request: more veggies please! I don't want to have to eat a red apron meal and then add veggies. You treat veggies as a garnish in most dishes, rather than a source of nutrients.

Yelp
Great place for lunch or coffee with friends... and while you're there pick up a few nights dinner with their prefab meals. Loved it!

Yelp
This has been my go to spot for a healthy, delicious dinner when I don't feel like cooking. The frozen cookies are also amazing, and so are the baked treats (try the pizzas on Thursday, Friday and Saturday's!)

Yelp
I'm shocked that I haven't already written a review for this amazing local business! I've been passing this place forever, and have sampled their delivery dinners (they provide a fantastic front door delivery service), but hadn't actually set food into their storefront until I moved into the neighbourhood last year. Located on Gladstone Avenue just across the street from True Loaf, this building doesn't look like much from afar, but when you get closer you'll notice amazing window displays featuring great local products. Step inside and you'll find loads of wonderful frozen meals, cookies, breads and more. There's meals to go, and a large selection of pies, cakes, cookies, and more. I've had delicious wraps for lunch, and bought amazing pies from here. In addition to all of the amazing food items, there's a ton of other great foodie finds here like Michael's Dolce, local honey, spices, seasonings, tea, and tons more. This is a great place to pick up gifts, or treat yourself. As I mentioned earlier, they have a fantastic meal delivery service which is excellent for new parents or someone who needs a nutritious and delicious meal delivered to their door. Pop in and check this place out. I dare you to leave empty handed!

Yelp
I decided to try this place because I received a gift card. I tried 1 of their lunch sandwiches, soup, dip and dinner for 2. I have to say the sand which was absolutely amazing. If anything I would go back just for lunch. The price for a sandwich was also very reasonable. Especially because it's a nice size and super delicious. The dinner portions are a nice size if you eat a small portion (which is what we should all be doing). The dinner prices seem fair. Especially being that the ingredients are fresh, organic and the meals are ready to heat / serve. The dip is delicious. They have many varieties and I only tried 1 of each. Try it warm though! Lol at least the spinach / artichoke one. Over all - I would try it again. However, it didn't get 5 stairs because it's just not my type of place.

Yelp
So this place has good food and all, although pretty overpriced, but I've definitely enjoyed some of their preserves and olive oil in the past. That said, we live next door to them and just found out they've been cutting our wifi cord to make room for theirs, and have multiple times left us without internet for days. They also ruined my snap streak with my roommate and we were one day away from 100 days. So anyway, they're dead to me. 10/10 would not recommend

Yelp
After visiting True Loaf next door, I couldn't help but re-visit Red Apron. I don't know why I didn't notice this before, but they actually sell a few other items that I completely ignored the last time for whatever reason. When True Loaf closes, the extra bread that they haven't sold is moved over and sold at Red Apron. So even if you're craving some really tasty bread but True Loaf is closed, head over to Red Apron to pick up a loaf. The freezer next to the cash register also sells some really fancy ice creams with a ton of different flavors. They also have a couple of frozen pies, tarts, and baked goods. Originally, I had thought that they only sold lunch and dinner items, but I can't tell you how happy I am to find out that they also have dessert!

Yelp
I'm not sure The Red Apron is capable of making bad food. Everything I've had here has been tremendous. The pastries, the pre-made meals, the sandwiches are all amazing.

Yelp
The Red Apron has moved! And it's for the best. The new space is very big and accommodates a huge kitchen, various displays, fridges and freezers full of goodies. "Sophisticated Comfort Food" is what they advertise and that is exactly what you get. It's a place for the fresh as well as fresh but frozen foods for you to enjoy at home. One night, we got the roasted vegetable, lentil, tomato soup as well as the salmon with dill aioli and a lentil and brown rice thing. What can I say, Red Apron and my family, we like our lentils. The soup was delish. Flavour-wise really went above and beyond the expectations of a tomato soup. The salmon was also great, perfectly cooked. The aioli was a great accompaniment along with the brown rice and lentils which were luscious. Towards the end I just mixed everything together to enjoy it all at once. YUM! All in all, it's an inviting space with lots of people smiling, willing to help you. Say you picked something frozen, they'll help you find it fresh and make great suggestions! They also have a dinner delivery service! They also have yummy free samples! I'm a fan.

Yelp
Excellent delivery service - yummy food. In store selection is also very good. We went into the store before Xmas and bought a few frozen items to have over the holidays. We have had a lamb dish with couscous and a chicken wrapped with bacon dish with apple and cheddar cheese stuffing and wild rice pilaf; plus a ground beef and pork pie which fed five of us. All have been excellent. The lamb and the chicken dish will easily feed three people, even though it says for 2 on the cover. We have been ordering and coming into the store for a number of years and have not been disappointed yet. Prices are reasonable. Parking is a bit of a problem on Gladstone but you may get lucky and find a spot behind the store. The True Loaf store across the street has excellent bread to go along with your meal!

Yelp
Red Apron has a food subscription service but what I am reviewing here is a walk-in to pick something not-frozen up for immediate consumption. Let's say you want something nice, but you don't want to struggle with reservations, or wait in line, or deal with the riff-raff on the street. You want to eat at home, in peace and quiet. You want to light your own candles, drink your own wine, and put on your own music. You don't want to tip. Red Apron is your answer. Soup for two is $10. Entree for two is $20. And it will be delicious. And you will have a reasonable chance of being full, and you can eat in your own space. If you have a large appetite you could consider getting an extra entree ($10) (Or two!) or you could supplement it with some dinner rolls or something easy you might have at home. You might even have some left over for lunch. Consider that a souvlaki platter from Greek on Wheels is $13 and you'll realize this is starting to look like a deal. As you long as you keep your hands off the the $12 Pascale's ice cream.

Yelp
When our first kid was born in 2010, we tried out the meal delivery for a week (Tues, Wed, Thurs). It was good, and we were so grateful for the healthy meals in our time of deep fatigue, but I wasn't crazy about it, to be honest. Four years later we're exhausted with a newborn again and signed up for a few weeks of meal delivery -- and my god, it's fantastic. I think over the last few years they've managed to perfectly fine-tune their recipes so that every single thing we've received has been incredibly delicious. Great variety without being gimicky, and the meals are healthy and well-balanced, using an impressive amount of local and organic food. The quality is outstanding. The presentation of the food is thoughtful and attractive (sprigs of fresh herbs, sauces tucked neatly in the corner of a box, etc.). Packaging is mostly compostable. I find the cost for weekly meal delivery is pretty reasonable, given that you can spend $30 on a pizza pretty easily - it works out to just over $35 for the meal for two, and it's enough to feed the two adults in the house with enough leftovers to cover at least one of us for lunch the next day. We are thrilled. Anyone who buys a new house or has a baby -- or who just has a busy/chaotic life but appreciates the pleasure and multiple benefits of a few sit-down meals every week -- will loooooove Red Apron.

Yelp
I was at my favourite place today for yet another awesome lunch. Today's culinary delight was a savory chicken ceasar sandwich with bacon. If you have yet to visit The Red Apron, I highly recommend stop by soon. You'll not be disappointed!

Yelp
I want to love this place but I just don't. I love the concept, the food descriptions and presentation....but...the flavour is so bland and lacking that it is pretty consistently disappointing. Most recently I had chicken curry soup - this was quite good. But I also had "curry" salmon, and there was not a microflavour of curry in the whole dish, not to mention that the salmon was lightly brined which was quite unpleasant (and wouldn't have gone with curry flavour if there had been any curry flavour in the dish at all). And this is par for the course with the food. Disappointing.
