The Red House Hostel

Don’t stay there if you are an Asian During my stay, an older white male guest made racist remarks toward Asians and continued to harass me even after I clearly told him I did not want to interact. I reported this to the front desk, but no action was taken. A hostel should be a safe and respectful place for everyone. This experience was disappointing, and I would not recommend it, especially for Asian travelers.

This hostel is great if you love to party and nothing else. It’s very noisy all night and the rooms aren’t clean while being super hot. The beds are sooo uncomfortable, smell foul, and I didn’t even have a fitted sheet. The front desk staff are really nice though!

I had a lovely stay for 6 days here as a solo traveller. The atmosphere is really nice and the other guest were very friendly and keen to spend time with me. They have free pasta on Wednesday and I think on monday and friday they hold other event(alcohol and bbq). They had 24/7 service. The bathrooms are usually clean but there was often no toilet paper or the bin was full. I also recommend using female downstairs bathroom for showers as the upstairs one has annoying showers the turn off and on. I think if you go when Noone is showering, including the men, then you can get away with it.

The swimming pool and garden are nice, but they really need to hire experienced staff (at least at the Reception Desk) to make guests feel welcomed...

Really good hostel in Santiago. It's pretty close to the city center, the rooms are really big as well as the kitchen and the reception is always helpful if you need anything. Sometimes they have some social event which are nice to attend. Overall I can recommend this hostel

Thanks to Nacho and the chicos for a great experience, had loads of fun and a was well looked after. The pool and the bar were amazing for such a cheap price. They do social events that are great for meeting people and having lovely food and great craic. Highly recommend

The hostel is in a majestic building with big rooms and fantastic garden nearby 2 metro lines and a lot of bars and restaurants. Here I personally had one of my greatest stays of my life, with the perfect balance of relax and party (almost every night) with theme parties and a lot of good people to know.

The hostel has its pros and cons. The overall stay was decent, but the noise was a significant issue. The building is old, and the poor sound insulation meant we could hear everything, including guests talking loudly late into the night, which disturbed our sleep. Another unpleasant surprise was the 20% fee charged when paying by card. We weren’t informed of this beforehand, and we would have opted to pay in cash had we known. While the location and facilities were fine, these drawbacks made the experience less enjoyable than expected.
