We had a lovely lunch here recently, and it was our first time eating in the restaurant area. The menu had plenty of options including smaller lunch items, and then full 3-course options too. We went for the mushroom spaghetti and the halloumi wrap, both of which were really tasty. I like that they offer the option to have either soup or chips as a side with the wraps - nice to have a lighter option. Service was very friendly and the decor was homely but modern. Would absolutely come back!

We stopped here for 1 night and received a wonderful warm welcome from Selina on reception. Full of smiles and super friendly, just upgraded our room to a sea view which was a brilliant unexpected surprise. We had a few drinks in the bar before settling down for food in the restaurant which was amazing. All staff were brilliant, room was amazing and tbe breakfast this morning was one of the nicest ive had in a UK hotel. Cant wait to go back again. Thank you to all the bar staff, restaurant staff and a big shout out to the chef 10/10

Ate here on evening of 2nd October. Booked table earlier and staff gave us a nice table in front room. Excellent range of beers. Staff were very good, making recommendations. Pie of the day was excellent, my wife chose from specials menu. Nice atmosphere. Did not have pudding as too full. Highly recommended

We managed to get a room for the night for a very reasonable price. Parking is a bit restrictive so if we'd left it any later, I don't think there would have been much room left, if any. Sadly someone had marked our car and not left a note when we left the next morning...! The room was small but lovely. A bigger bed would have been nice but no doubt there were rooms with bigger beds if we'd wanted one. The room was well equipped with lots of tea and coffee and fresh milk was available in a fridge just of the stairs. The bathroom was lovely and clean with nice toiletries. Breakfast was tasty. Lovely orange juice. I had a vegetarian breakfast. It was delish but it beat me.. My partner's full English looked lovely. We would definitely stay here again...!

Such a professional team! We booked for breakfast and was given a great welcome. Shown to a large picturesque window table and served a hearty full English breakfast cooked to our individual choices. Served hot with plenty of toast coffee, tea, and juices. The service we received for breakfast was so good it encouraged us to book the first of our evening meals. We had another large table with plenty of room and still with a view. It was not only the quality of the food but the excellent waiter that meant we rebooked for the next night. When I called to rebook I was remembered and again we where given a great table location in the main restuarent under the lantern roof window. Our waiter from the night before welcomed us again and remembered our daughter in laws preferred starter she had choosen from the night before. The upbeat attentive attention was spot on in our opinion. Food was attractive, tasty and good quality.

The room was lovely. The hotel could do with a lift but we understand why they wouldn't be able to install one. We were offered help wuth our luggage though.|Room was lovely and clean and tastefully decorated. Lots of tea and coffee and fresh milk was in a fridge just off the stairs. Bathroom was nice and clean and had nice toiletries.|The bed was a bit small but we slept well.|Breakfast was delish. Coffee was good and the orange juice was really good quality. I had the vegetarian breakfast which was lovely and tasty but I'm afraid it beat me... |We would definitely stay here again and we did get the room for a bargain too...!

This is a very nice pub/restaurant; food and menu was excellent with wide variety; service very attentive and the decor in the pub is tasteful. The only downside was the number of dogs roaming around - in a restaurant which is not very hygienic. A rogue dog even escaped its owner and charged around the dining room for a short time. Understand that most of your customers visiting Cromer probably have dogs so you need to cater for them. Would it be that difficult to make one dining area dog free though ?

Yelp
Nice pub atmosphere with comfy sofas and good food. The 'Eton Mess' is a scrumptious mountain of meringue, fresh cream, berries, and white chocolate shavings. Oy!

Yelp
As a Cromer resident, this is actually my favourite place to go for a drink or meet friends. I like the character, cosiness and 'laid back' atmosphere and always manage to get a seat. There is a variety of seating options including some more private areas and staff are friendly and attentive. I'm not impressed with the food giving value for money, and the quality seems to be inconsistent but there is a reasonable range of choice. The decor needs some attention with paint peeling from the stained glass divisions, woodwork and ceilings and tends to make me wonder whether it's because of wanting to retain original features, and William Morris wall coverings that it appears so neglected 'yellowed'. The women's toilets are always clean and functional and provide quality extras, my only complaint is the height of the mirrors, I'm 5'2 and can only see my face if I stand on tip-toes. I should mention here that I have never stayed in the actual hotel, so my comments are about using the bar. Ye Olde Red Lion Hotel also has a banquetting hall and when it's laid out for a function it looks truely amazing and very 'olde worlde' I've just given this venue an extra star,( it should be 4 stars now) as recently there seems to be an improvement in the consistency of quality of food. I've taken a few more people to eat and drink there and they have all liked it and would return.

Yelp
Booked for a meal just after Christmas and took four foodie guests hoping to impress. The restaurant was chilly and the log burner fires remained unlit despite it being an extremely cold night. The menu was very limited with a very unexciting choice. We would have left at this point but had a taxi booked for our return home. Ordered our first choice of starter and was informed that it was not available....even more limited menu! Cheese soufflés didn't resemble soufflés in any way being 'sloppy' like a half set blancmange. Ordered main courses meals and were informed the vegetables offered on the menu were not available. Accepted an alternative but when the meals arrived the vegetables were different to the ones offered and were extremely minimal...only two varieties with the fish dish, one of which was more of a decoration on the plate. Steaks arrived almost raw, grey in colour with raw white fat on the sides, accompanying veg; half a tomato and one mushroom. Chosen desserts...no longer available. We left without desserts and made our way to a pub nearby to finish our evening and await our taxi. We were given a discount on the bill but this did not make up for a terrible meal and ruined evening. I have written to the manager and gave them a month in which to reply; they haven't even bothered to do that. Hence my late review.

Yelp
My heart started to sink as soon as I began to order lunch at the Bar. Minimum order of £15 for credit cards Boss and You can't run a tabsorry pay now OK . Perhaps they have had a spate of people doing a runner ? I don't know but Just got my back up from the start. Food arrived after about 25 mins, cold, and uninspiring. Great view of the Pier and Sea front from the Public bar but that's about it. Give it a miss. A shame .It could be so much better.

Yelp
Went in last week. The new owners have transformed the place. Recommended for food and drink (decent range of real ale). Great views of the sea

Yelp
My oh my was this a let down or what. place was filthy and stank of somthing off. My friends had heard good things about it so we went for lunch. food was seriously over-priced and took agessss to come, waitress then mixed up an order and had to wait for another 15 mins for it to come and by then everyone else had finished. dont recommend this to anyone who knows good food and value....

Yelp
Fantastic has been refurbished. We come back time and time again. The Red Lion is nothing like it was before the refurbishment. It is also the sister to the newly rebuilt Bella Vista opposite the pier.
