Good food, nice vibe. Great place for lunch.

After a long hike around the town of Haenertsburg we had a fantastic lunch here! Great atmosphere, with indoor and outdoor seating and a top notch waitron. We had some of the best hamburgers I've ever eaten (do try the Black mushroom, port & blue cheese burger it's simply scrumptious!) Portions are decent, hamburger patties were superb. The fries/chips were done to perfection. We will be back here! Highly recommended! 20250425 Had an awesome Calamari & Hake laid on a bed of basmati rice with salad. Finished the meal with a double espresso 😊

This was our first restaurant we ate during our extended weekend in Magoebaskloof, and it was one of the best! The pork curry was Devine. We also happened to have some of their ham and cheese quiche when we went on a horseback picnic ride with In The Company Of Horses, which I also highly recommend.

My gf & I had breakfast on our way to Hoedspruit on Fri 13th & it was really pleasant experience (despite it being Fri 13th!). We were greeted at door by friendly staff with waitress taking us to table, followed quickly by menus. Our waitress gave us few mins then took our orders & we immediately could tell she knew her business by asking re how eggs must be done, type of bread we wanted, if we want ice with drinks, made sure we had everything we needed before food arrived. Food came quickly, was well presented & was really tasty, Service was efficient & our waitress was super friendly & constantly smiling & cheerful, Time to pay & our bill came quickly & was 100% correct, we gave her tip she deserved. This restaurant & waitress in little town of Haenertsburg could teach a lot of restaurants & waitresses in Gauteng a few things. I highly recommend The Red Plate to anybody stopping in Haenertsburg. We will be back when next coming past!

Food was amazing, atmosphere unfortunately indoors was not something to be desired for. It was our marriage anniversary and we looking forward to something a little more cozzy and romantic, outside looked lovely, could not dine outside because some male customers were cussing loudly in their conversations.

Food was excellent quality and service

We took a chance by coming here after exploring magabaskloof. Such a hidden gem, from the get go the service was great being warmly welcomed. The food was really delicious would highly recommend the chicken burrito. Have one massive regret of not offering the chocolate cake which looked amazing. I'll definitely try and make a turn if I'm ever back.

The food here is divine and the portion sizes are big. I would highly recommend stopping here if you want a hearty and delicious meal.
