10 Events That Should Be on Your Weekend Agenda

"This weekend The Shed opens with a five-night concert series, Soundtrack of America, conceived by Steve McQueen to celebrate the impact of African American music on contemporary culture with performers including PJ Morton, Jon Batiste and Natasha Diggs with Fantastic Negrito; the venue’s weekend roster also includes Ben Whishaw and Renée Fleming in Anne Carson’s Norma Jeane Baker of Troy and immersive live performances from Reich Richter Pärt." - Vanita Salisbury

Google
One of the best places around to find treasures and useful everyday items. The owner is a great man, very friendly and kind. Check in often as there are always new treasures to be found! We like to take our kids her to shop for Christmas and birthdays.

I was there on Friday. They now have a wonderful assortment of live plants repotted into vintage dishware, tea cups, little pitchers. Very fun & would make wonderful housewarming gifts!

Cool place to look around, BUT, this is supposed to be a THRIFT store. Everything is EXTREMELY overpriced, not allowing any typical low income family the ability to “thrift”. It’s more like an expensive, overpriced, not quite antique store. I traveled many thrift stores in the same day and this was by far the most overpriced around, kind of a bummer.

Pretty neat shop to visit if you're in the area. It's like a little emporium. Prices are a bit high, but the owner will entertain counter offers. Just got to ask.

I have gone to a lot of thrift stores and consignment shops. This is the first one I've ever been to that I left without making a single purchase. They have a wonderful selection and it's neat, organized and pleasant looking. The 2 men working were very nice. The prices are the worst I've seen in a long time. They have them listed higher than even S@vers and Goodwill, which is hard to do. I get raising prices but these prices are absolutely insane. I found stuff priced 3-4x higher than the price tag from the store , which was still on the box. See my pics for that. $20 for a used under armour sweatshirt with pills, stains and a missing string is insane. A broken and glued back together figurine for $8. The handbags were very overpriced. Dresses were priced at $30 and up! I thought, it must be a consignment shop. So I asked. No. It's just very overpriced. If you don't have other options, it's a pleasant store. But don't expect a bargain.

Wicked nice people, fair prices and lots of cool stuff.

They say it's a thrift store but there's nothing thrifty about it. Aside from the dingy and outdated selection of women's clothing, EVERYTHING here is sold with at LEAST a 50 percent mark up of its RETAIL price brand new. There's a couple things he will cut you a deal on but overall this owner CLEARLY is not in the business of selling used goods at fair prices, which is what a thrift store is supposed to do. I've had a few experiences both shopping and selling here and after being offered 40 dollars for goods worth more than 500 dollars, my mind was officially made up. The owner is a nice enough guy but please believe, he's out here taking full advantage, overcharging, basically ripping people off. It's actually quite disgusting. It's the only store of its kind in town and there isn't anything similar for at least 20 miles or so and Its a safe bet to say that most likely contributes to why the place is even open still. The store itself is actually one of the towns historic attractions....probably another reason it's not closed. They do have a variety of things but it's so cluttered and not displayed well. The dust is visible and if you have any questions about anything good luck tracking the person working. Which is only 2 people. I'm a nutshell, you won't lose sleep, better yet, you won't feel as if you justost your hard earned money, if you ride right passed this place.

Google
Always the best deals at the red shed. If I'm thinking of something we need for the house we always check here first. They have a little of everything at such a great price. The people who work here are so kind and will always meet you halfway to get you what you came for. They also always treat my kids so well. Very thankful we discovered this place!

Yelp
This place is one of my go-to thrift stores! Super convenient spot, wide selection of items. The clothes are good prices but I wish they would give some comparison to items so I knew how much discount I was getting.

Yelp
Dump. There are a few nice sports equipment items for decent prices and they have good selection of records right now but other than that there inventory is as dirty as it is unimpressive. With plenty of similar shops in the area you are safe to pass this one for other options.

Yelp
My husband and I love this place. We go a out twice a month. We have purchased appliances and they have all worked. My husband prefers wooden handle hammers and has found them there at a reasonable price. They are helpful and friendly.

Yelp
Recently bought a bike here with a seat post that, due to the marvels of French engineering, could neither be tightened, loosened, or freed. Bob jumped into action, found a magic tool in his stock, and in 5 minutes, with 20 cents worth of nut and bolt, we're in business! That's what you can expect at the Red Shed. And BTW Yelp, I'm not in SF!!

Yelp
Good sized store with large variety of items & very reasonable prices. If I lived closer, I would check in more often because the inventory is always moving & changing. Our family has purchased many things... kitchen utensils & bakeware, housewares, vinyl records, electronics, outdoor items, & small appliances, just to name a few. Never know what you may find here. It's a well kept, clean store with friendly, helpful owners/staff. Definitely worth stopping in to take a look.

Yelp
funny how people from CT come here and complain about a popular place like red shed that's always busy and no there are not all kinds of similar places around unless you travel up to Keene
