Great spot in Mabou for a bite to eat and some Cape Breton music. We shared the Pear and Blue Cheese Mussels which were fantastic and we each had a bowl of Seafood Chowder which was very good. Cold beer, great music and excellent service. It does get busy right around when the music starts at 5:00.

An absolute MUST for any visitor to Cape Briton and Nova Scotia. The people, music, food, service, and atmosphere is THE best of any pub I've ever visited, here or abroad. Ready to return tomorrow, and am highly recommending to any family or friend visiting the island. WONDERFUL and SO MUCH FUN.

Dropped into The Red Shoe for my first time the other day for a late lunch. Got to enjoy a couple songs by Rose Morrison on the fiddle. The service was great fast and friendly. I really loved the two piece fish and chips one the better two piece I had on my adventures around the Island. My wife had the fresh muscles she liked them but weren't the best our journey. My mom had the club sandwich with sweet potato fries. And she thought the club sandwich was very good and nice to see it on a flat bread for a change. Although the sweet potato fries were over cooked. Highly recommended stopping by The Red Shoe your next visit in Mabou.

Outstanding vibe and food. The sisters go out of their way to make you feel at home. Nightly Irish music is fabulous. The Philly steak sandwich and seafood chowder were excellent.

We loved the music, atmosphere and food (best chowder!!) so much that we went 2 nights in a row. We made friends the second night and went on from there to a square dance. Friendliest spot ! Special thanks to Jasmine our waitress.

Experienced all the charming qualities that I was expecting from Cape Breton: rustic and charming, fresh menu options, friendly service… comfortable dining experience that quickly made you feel right at home. The feature fish cake burger with a side salad was delicious. 11/10.

This place is great! They had dairy and gluten free options, and an accessible entrance on the side. The service was wonderful and there was a show that evening with live music. I was very happy with my meal. The fish was cooked perfectly. Not a cheap meal, but about what you would expect for the quality.
