Food was good, bacon was a bit salty. Baked beans were good, not too sweet or salty, with lovely tomato sauce. Vibe is the reason we were there. Service was nice, care and made sure you were well served.

Can't fault this delightful restaurant. Ordered drinks and food which was ready pretty quickly despite being busy. Food was great quality with a service to match with happy and conscientious staff. Really enjoyable

Best pancakes ever. All the food we had was perfect and we visited two days in a row. Coffee was delicious as well.

This is a popular breakfast/brunch place so had to check it out. We went early so we got a table easily. Customer service was good and the portion size was also good. Only thing is that there wasn’t a big variety of options and a bit pricey. But overall it was good

I had the best breakfast here since the beginning of my stay in the UK. I rate the whole experience very good. The service was nice and helpful. We didn't wait long after placing the order. The dishes were wonderful - fresh, tasty, pleasing to the eye and palate. Compliments to the chef. Delicious coffee. I will definitely come back here, even though the queue in front of the entrance is not getting shorter 😄 It's really worth it!

Managed to grab the last table at this bustling little spot on the outskirts of the old town. Gorgeous fireplace to warm you up on a wet, chilly Sunday. Staff are organised & friendly. Loved the playlist too. Thanks for delicious breaky. P.S. Dog friendly too! 🐾🐾

Incredible food, lovely staff an overall really comfortable dining experience. Highly recommend for a quick breakfast, brunch or lunch. My companions had their meals prior, but the staff were happy to offer just the sides and a drink without any fuss. Perfectly situated along the way to Canterbury cathedral and surrounding areas.

OVERVIEW A 5* must for the quaint, rustic experience and exceptional service! PLUS + The restaurant’s interior was rustic and quaint, with a naturalist vibe that reflected the authentic, locally sourced menu. + Exceptional service: quick, informative, attentive, and personable staff who seemed genuinely happy to be there! Complimentary tea for queuing customers. + Overall, the food was just okay. However, the recreated breakfast/brunch classics elevated the menu to a 4* level. + “The Bennies” was outstanding—my best egg royale so far: 5*. + Plant-based condiments and alternative milk options. + Catered to meal modification requests. + Breakfast/brunch dishes priced between £13-15 were enough to fulfil and satisfy. + The perfect chinwag spot for two! MINUS - Due to the restaurant’s small size and popularity, one can often expect to queue outside. - The restaurant could benefit from a quick, hassle-free table QR code payment method. ORDER HISTORY Breakfasts: * THE REFECTORY VEGGIE UP * HOUSE SMOKED SALMON AND AVOCADO * THE BENNIES * BELGIAN WAFFLE Tea: * Sapphire earl grey

Yelp
One of the go to places for breakfast in Canterbury. Possibly top 5!! This is such a good place, and I already cannot wait to go back. Went for an early brunch, in which I got the Green Eggs and Ham and a friend got Eggs your way, and both were so good! Eggs were cooked to perfection. It is a smaller restaurant, which means it's quite intimate; know that they don't do large parties. But the service is great, so if you are heading into town and need a place to stop for a meal, this is the place to go.

Yelp
We have been to the Refectory Kitchen twice in the past few weeks. The first visit we had the Refectory Burger and the Waffles with Sausage. Both were incredible! We were also given an extra order of fries by mistake, which they offered us on the house (also delicious!). During our second visit, we ordered the French Toast, Breakfast Burger, and Mimosas. Again, everything was super tasty. The people were very friendly, and we didn't wait long at all. The building itself is smaller but with a nice homey feel. We highly recommend the Refectory Kitchen!

Yelp
I had the gypsy eggs. Chorizo, mushroom, spinach, tomato, and eggs baked into a stone pot. The food was great though I still haven't figure out why brits are so into tomato's with their English breakfasts. All around it think it adds an acidity to the dish that's not super appealing. I could've done without that. Another cool addition into a generally soft baked dish could've been something crispy and flakey. Maybe like fried Brussels sprouts or something. Another cool thing - two of the staff were wearing jeans overalls / suspenders - which created a cool atmosphere.

Yelp
Amazing food!! Came here for group breakfast with friends. Sit outside if you can. The food was delicious. Everything was fresh and the portions were quite generous. The Refectory Rancher was the best thing I had. Cappuccino also spot on. Highly recommended. Will be visiting again!

Yelp
Great place. I don't typically get emotional about porridge, but this was the best I've ever eaten

Yelp
This place is awesome, friendly and hip. The breakfasts I've had here, have been a delight. Good ingredients and verity to choose from. I am not a vegetarian but the 'Veggie Up' is top try in my opinion. If anyone visiting Canterbury, or on business like myself. Go get your morning kick from this place!

Yelp
Simple but excellent food, superior service, and a great location along St. Dunstan's Street. Highly recommend for brunch.

Yelp
They do good sandwiches here and the service is friendly. It's a shame the place isn't bigger, but there are a couple of tables at the window where you can watch the world go by. My only complaint would be the coffee which is tasteless machine coffee. Please get a better machine and I will come more often.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. I would eat here every day if I could. The food is amazing, the staff are absolutely lovely and if you're super fussy like me, not a problem, they make alterations to dishes if you ask and are happy enough to sub cows milk for soya milk for example. And they couldn't be nicer about it. The gave me extra bits and pieces when I asked for no extra cost. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed and they even have a real wood-burning fire in the winter. 5-stars, everytime!!
