Google
We recently stopped by for a drink. It had been years since we last visited. It was kind of empty, about 8-10 others were present. About half of them in a single group. It took a few minutes before our order was taken. It also took some time once ordered before we received our drinks. We were not in a rush so it was not a big deal. The drinks were good. We paid our bill and left as planned after a single drink. We took some pictures and made our way home. I just checked our CC statement and I noticed the bar tab was more than what I signed off on that night. I guess he didn't appreciate the original tip amount. Maybe this explains why it was empty. Disappointed to say the least.

Decided to explore a new restaurant this weekend and stumbled upon Remington inside the St. Regis Hotel. My initial first impression at the hotel was exquisite, the cleanliness, valet, and employee welcomes. The restaurant bar area was full but dinning area was completely empty. The vibe was quiet & dark, but the bartender was quick to say hello and be attentive. I ordered the salmon (that came w/veggies & grits, which I felt made an odd combination). I also ordered a house salad off the recommendation of the bartender. The end report was not good. Everything tastes like it was frozen food microwaved and the salad was soggy. Let say that walked away a tad disappointed that I spend good money on no-so good food,☝🏼 but happy I ventured out to report on a new restaurant.

Google
Harry is the best bartender in Texas. He remembers everybody, makes perfect martinis, anticipates what you want next, etc. in short, he makes the place. The Remington itself is a classic, traditional bar for people who strive and succeed in life. If that’s you, you’ll enjoy top shelf service, drinks, and food.

Amith R.

Google
Such a cozy place to chill and grab a drink! Harry, the bartender is awesome! They will have live music again on weekends beginning labor day. This is the bar within the St Regis hotel

Maylena B.

Google
The cilantro rice was light and REALLY tasty! The fish was cooked to perfection and service was impeccable. The seared scallops had that perfect sear and everything was a flavor within itself that melded into the perfect combination. Also, if you like Bloody Marys, ask for Harry's special St. Regis recipe. Hands down, the best I've ever had, no joke!

Kevin K.

Google
Incredible service for breakfast and lunch-quality omelette and burger. Grateful they also carry Pepsi products

Google
I like the whole place here at the St Regis, and the bar is excellent. As the St Regis in NY is credited with originating the Bloody Mary Cocktail I had to galive it a go here in Houston. The attached photo shows the result - shrimp/prawn, with stuffed olives, celery (obs), topped off with a green chilli pepper. Thanks to the excellent bar staff it tasted great! The popcorn is really good too!

Google
Really nice place to stay. Elegant friendly helpful staff. The food is always great.

Yelp
Enjoyable drinking environs that probably deserve a higher average than their rating. Low-key and located in the St. Regis.

Yelp
Love the Remington Bar! Best chicken quesadillas ever! It's a whole meal, big enough to share. The highlight is Getu, the bartender. He remembers my order even if it's been months. He's attentive and makes the whole experience:
google avatar

Yelp
Nice place to have a drink if you are staying at the hotel. They have a couple of tvs that you can watch a game. The Bloody Mary was kind of different. The color was a bit brown. I was asked if I wanted tequila or vodka. I chose tequila since that was what the description had. The bar is kind of cool. It has a dark look and feels like you are in a dark steakhouse bar. The bartenders there were great. Heard one say he was working there since the late 70s or something crazy like that.

Yelp
The bar has a old basment-y smell to it. We arrived Friday right when it opened. Due to our room not being available and my husbands Ambassador Elite status we were promised an upgraded room and complimentary drinks from the bar. I ordered a cosmopolitan and my husband ordered Johnny walker black. We were the only guest as it was very early in the evening. My drink was great. I remember coming here in January and the cosmo was terrible so that was a pleasant surprise. For a snack I ordered the chicken sandwiches which were decent. The painting and overall design of the bar is very chic and classy. The smell just needs to be eliminated.

Yelp
They used to have the best dance bands on weekends. No more since Pandemic. Elegant place though!
google avatar

Yelp
Atmosphere and service is what I would describe as top quality. Drinks are well made, and the mood inviting. One of the best bars in Houston.
google avatar

Bill G.

Yelp
At the beginning of the week, I called and made a reservation for 6 people for a business lunch on Friday. The first 2 members of our party got there and were told the restaurant was closed and we could eat in the bar from the bar menu. There was no record of the reservation and no notice that the restaurant was taken for an event. They left and we joined them around the corner where another restaurant could accommodate us. Won't be back.

Yelp
TL;DR Great breakfast options. Solid and consistent food with great service. Yes, the food is expensive, but it is undoubtedly reliable. I have had the privilege of dining here multiple times for breakfast and have never left disappointed. ---FOOD: +Pecan Wood Smoked Salmon (5 stars): Oh baby, we might not be in NYC, but this salmon lox and bagel plate is no joke. You get enough salmon for 2 bagels and a variety of garnishes to deck your bagel out. A better bagel could really push this entree over the top, but even so, this lox plate is still worth 5 stars. +Traditional Bircher Muesli (5 stars): This bircher muesli is so, so good. It's creamy and not too sweet, and it is loaded with apples, raisins, and walnuts. It also comes topped with fresh berries and bananas. And for $11.00 it's like getting three meals in one because the portion is so large! +Crab, Spinach and Scrambled Egg Enchiladas (4 stars): This specialty is for the heartiest of morning appetites. Not too heavy or greasy in any way, although they are filing. Skip the rice-- it's just plain white rice and does not match the flavors of the enchiladas. +Blueberry Bowl with Vanilla Yogurt, House-made Granola (4.5 stars): A simple but well prepared breakfast that you could order every day. The granola is tasty and the blueberries are the freshest. ---EXPERIENCE: It's a St. Regis hotel, so you better expect the service to be perfect. And it is. The restaurant allows for many modifications to your meal and waiters are as attentive as they are kind. I would return.

Yelp
Nice spot in the St. Regis with a live band. They have a limited bar menu with small bites. The service is good. I visited on a Friday night. I really enjoyed the band.

Yelp
I've been to several networking events at The Remington Bar. Located inside the St. Regis Hotel, it's valet only unless you park on the street. Remington is an upscale bar with an old-school vibe. It looks like you're walking into your rich grandpa's library since there's a lot of wood. Beers go for $6.50-$7 with mixed drinks/cocktails going for a little more. At least for networking events, a lot of people squeeze in the bar so it gets pretty loud. Makes it tough to hear, maybe due to the acoustics, but I'm sure this is not the norm here. If you have AT&T, you won't have service here which is annoying. I mean you seriously expect me not to check my phone every 5 minutes??! Fair warning, I'm pretty certain that escorts frequent this bar. Seems like every time I attend a networking event here, there is an old geezer chatting with a scantily-clad, attractive young lady. I'm not 100% here but my friends and I all seem to be under the impression that it's true.

Yelp
Had a fabulous Sunday brunch at this restaurant last week. The food, the presentation and the wait staff are outstanding. Food is spectacularly plated and tastes just fresh and wholesome. We ate here I am after having spent the night at the Saint Regis and the breakfast really topped a beautiful weekend. The lox and bagels beautifully presented and the Applewood smoked salmon is sublime. I would strongly recommend a visit if you're in the area.

Yelp
Not bad. For such a swanky hotel & restaurant, I would've expected a little better for the price, though. I ate here w/family for my parents' anniversary on a weeknight. We had dinner reservations, and the service was good. It was not at all crowded, so you can have a normal conversation. - Amuse bouche (pear + cheese + bread): 5 stars. A delightful bite-sized treat. - Lamb duo: 4 stars. - Special of the day - Red snapper: 3 stars. Kind of dry and flavorless... then when I was almost done, I realized that there was this tasty sauce on another plate that should've gone w/the snapper. Oh well. - Seafood papardelle: 3 stars. Mom loved the seafood, but the papardelle (wide, flat pasta) was inexplicably quite dry despite there being sauce in the dish. - Cake: 4 stars. Made in-house, pretty good and very wedding cake-like. TIP: It's a little hard to find - there's a Remington bar, but the Remington restaurant is across the hall from the bar's back entrance. If you walk into the bar & are confused, keep walking until you exit the back door of the bar, and the restaurant will be out that back door. Parking: Valet only, but if you tell them you ate at the restaurant then they waive the valet fee.

Yelp
Exceptionally good food and service. Had the braised beef ribs and it was the most tender ribs ever had. The mashed potatoes was very good.

Yelp
Br/lunch review only. Space: Gorgeous. And quiet. Plenty of sun. Service: Polite yet warm and hospitable. Food: We had Eggs Benedict and Texas something rye sandwich - you've got to be kidding me. The English muffin was drenched in butter with the egg way too runny, and the "Texas" whatever sandwich it was was puny. Puny and Texas don't go together. 2 stars for food, 1 star for ambiance and service. The manager is terrific and so was the waiter, and I really like all the sunlight in the room and the availability of the Financial Times, but if I visit again, I'll stay away from the brunch/sandwich portions of the menu.

Yelp
As others have said, the mature goers have this place on lock. But hey need a place to get out too. If you're looking to hear hip hop or any pop culture hits, forget about it. It's big band and swing music. But, why the heck is everyone complaining about the price of drinks? Have none of you ever stayed in a hotel before and went to the bar? Going to a hotel bar and complaining about the price of drinks is like going into Tiffany's and complaining about the price of their jewelry. Get into it.
google avatar

George L.

Yelp
A good location and a great place for drinks, music and dancing. The crowd is classy and mature. I look forward to going back.

Yelp
As much as I enjoy The St. Regis Hotel, I wasn't impressed with this place. I came here while staying at the hotel. The bar itself was very nice, but the crowd is the problem. The crowd is 50+ year old men looking for 40+ year old women to hook up with. If that's your thing, well you may love this place. I was not particularly fond of this. The drinks here are decent, but expensive(then again it's in the St. Regis). The staff is pretty quick, but I don't really like spending $7 on a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. My friend bought shots which happened to be $15 a piece(I think he may have suffered a mild heart attack when the bartender told him the total). Since I was at the hotel, I stopped by both nights I was there. They had the same band both nights. I'm not sure if they are the house band or not, but I was not a fan(though the 50+ year old women seemed to dig it). If the crowd was different I'd probably add a star, but there is no reason to come here unless you are a single 50+ year old man or woman.

Yelp
Pretentious martini/cigar bar, maybe an ok over 40s single scene. Nice decor and live music and dancing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 7:30pm until 11:30pm. Very slow dancing!
google avatar

Norm B.

Yelp
This venue "might" be a hipster spot, it certainly was not the evening we went. Service and drinks were better than average but the band was lackluster, playing jazz themed tunes with beats that were only conducive to sitting and listening ... too bad, there is a nice dance floor. You may want to check who the band is prior to visiting.
google avatar

Agustin S.

Yelp
Wow..folks! How or Why I ended up here is not important, but believe me it was not my idea. I would say only come here if you are over 45 years old and daring. The cover band is below average, but they get everyone on the dance floor. Remington Bar is located in the St. Regis Hotel. The interior of Remington Bar is actually nice, compared to some of the other Hotel lounges I've been in. It's has dark wood panels on the wall, exposed beams on the ceiling with crown molding everywhere. I would say this was the only redeeming quality. It's a hotel bar so the drinks will be overpriced. For people watching this is as good as it gets, but honestly I still wouldn't waste my money and time. Somebody Please Help Me!

Morgan H.

Yelp
Tried this spot on for a client dinner and was pleased. Overall, good service, good wine selection, and good food. It was a little dark but I assume it sets the ambience for non-work related meals! Everyone at the table was pleased with their food. I personally would recommend any of the steak dishes and any of the salads. Everything was prepared how we requested from meat readiness to salad dressing on the side to exclusions. The waiters listened and always made sure we were checked in on throughout the meal.
google avatar

Marc M.

Yelp
Staying the night at the the hotel, we decided to check out the hotel bar scene due to the urging of the desk clerk that checked us in. They had a live band and the place was packed. It is a good sized lounge and we were able to sit away from the dancefloor and the crowd of 50+ year-olds who were alternately hitting on each other and doing their best dance moves from the 60's, 70's and 80's. It was actually fun people watching because no doubt everyone in the room is living off their big retirement accounts or hoping to live off someone else's that they meet there. I giving this place 3 stars because I don't believe that my fellow, ahem, young Yelpers need to experience this place. If you happen to be staying here and want to see cougars and lions go at it, this is better than the zoo!
google avatar

Corinne C.

Yelp
Small quaint place inside of St Regis hotel. There is really no "happy hour" menu here. But, they do offer lite bites and other menu options. I did think $17.00 for a 4 piece cocktail shrimp was high dollar. As for the drinks they are pretty standard. I had a $12.00 cab that was decent. The setting is dark wood and screams older crowd. The waiters are even in suit and tie. We usually meet here before a Junior League meeting grab a drink and chat. If staying in the hotel. I'm sure you have garage parking. There is valet but you can easily park on the street in front.
google avatar

Keith F.

Yelp
It's a classy place with excellent service. The bartender was very nice, made excellent drinks, and was fun to talk to. I will be here on my next trip to Houston.
google avatar

Yelp
Went on Saturday night just to do something different. Had not been there in like 10 years. Well, I wasn't missing much. Mature little crowd. Had two drinks and an app, dropped like $70. Wouldn't waste my time again.

Yelp
For Houston Restaurant Week, the Remington was our third and final stop before it ended. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience. we started having second thoughts after receiving a phone call to come in earlier than our reservation for lunch. when we actually created the reservation, it did not allow us to reserve any earlier than 1:30pm. this was odd, so we chose that time. then the hostess gave us a call that morning and asked us to come in earlier, since they close the restaurant at 2pm. awkward, because we could barely understand her through her thick accent. so we came in at 12:30pm instead, and sat in the sun room. there were only 3 other tables in the place, and the rest of the place was very, VERY empty. that was the 2nd sign. now we were feeling a bit intimidated by the emptiness of the place, and awkward about having to come in earlier. we were given our restaurant week menus, ordered promptly, and all three courses were given together on a single plate. that was a bit awkward too. i didn't get a salad fork for my salad, which was weird too...but at least i got a dessert spoon. the food was kind of awful. i ordered the Southwest Shrimp Caesar Salad. the shrimp tasted reminiscent of closet air. it just had this weird off-taste, like it had been aired out in some kind of storage room, (like the smell you smell when you walk by the tire section of sam's). so i knew it wasn't fresh. the tortilla chips were stale also. after the disappointing first course, i tried out the entree, where i ordered the Romano Cheese and Spinach Ravioli. the ravioli were hard, dry and gummy, but moist where there was sauce layering the plate. okay, it was just plain nasty. the consistency was like chewing gum, and the sauce was the only thing giving it a sweet flavor, and it was cold. well, of course it was cold, all the food came out at the same time on the same plate... i don't even feel like talking about dessert. service was good, they were very helpful, and attentive. i have to mention though, the place is beautiful. the sun room was a most inviting and beautiful relaxing place to be in. it is the perfect brunch/ breakfast room. its just a shame the food didn't match the quality and beauty of the sun room. i won't be going back; i had a massive stomache ache afterwards for the rest of the day.

Yelp
The band, Commercial Art, has been around for eons, I'm glad they're still keeping it real! Great people watching place. There are definitely the regulars that seem to hang every weekend, and the old guys...! Too cute! Although I'm sure their dirty dog days are in the past, they've still got a line dance or two left in them. But there were actually quite a few younger people there, from 20's up, plus every ethnic group. I love a fun mix of people. There is lovely banquette and booth seating on either side of the dance/bar area, and we discovered upon our exit that there is a sizable lounge area behind the bar. Looks like it used to be the cigar area. I wanna hang out there next time.. Free Valet parking--get the waitress to validate your ticket when you buy your first drink. I think this place is cute, and I like old fart meat markets.

R T.

Yelp
I am not sure what happened since the New Management came it and changed up everything. I would go here every weekend and have so much fun, the price was not a issue.... Now, I am not sure, just Latin Music??? WOW, how bias is that, you need to mix it back up and get the crowds back in this place and bring some fun back into people lives in Houston.......I am willing give them some time to get Commerical Art Band Back and the All Star Band or something similar to these in Groove Music....

Yelp
Great breakfast is more than tough to find in this town. This place, hands down, is the best breakfast restaurant in Houston. It's more expensive than most other places. The environment is also part of what you are paying for. The conservatory is a really nice spot to take it easy and begin a productive or lazy day. My wife had the salmon eggs benedict with hollandaise. The eggs were fluffy, the salmon was perfect and the hollandaise was light and creamy. Decadent and fabulous. I had the breakfast burrito with chorizo, eggs, white cheese and avocado. Also a very good choice. Servers, including James, are professional, courteous and attentive. I
google avatar

rhonda s.

Yelp
Only hotel option since the restaurant is closed for reno. Didn't feel like sitting at the bar, so had my choice of tables as the only diner on the floor. Food was super basic and was looking forward to the salmon, but it was raw in the middle. Too tired to send it back, so I ate around it--wish they would have told me that first and I could have ordered something else.

Yelp
This was good entertainment on a quiet Friday night. The regulars are entertaining. Harris is a perfect bartender - the likes of which I rarely see outside of New Orleans. Band was slow tempo; crowd was diverse. Nice, mellow, spot for a hot summer night.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
Good service. Good food. $27 for a salad with shrimp. If you have the money why not.... It's a nice sophisticated ambiance. Nicest restaurant in the block. They weren't mean to me because I was in workout clothes so that's a plus. Empty and not very cheerful so I felt a bit depressed even though food was good. Burger and fries are also very good and cheaper than the salad. Impress a girl and bring her here for lunch and make her feel sophisticated and special. Or very old maybe. Definitely going back though!
google avatar

Richards R.

Yelp
I have been staying at this hotel for the last 12 years for business. Harry is the best bartender in the world! Great drinks, welcoming, and very attentive. Great conversationalist.
google avatar

Edwyn A.

Yelp
my partner and i went here for brunch on our last day of our weekend jaunt to Houston... i must say we were lucky enough to cancel our order before being put through what would have been an aw full brunch. i am surprised that the st. regis brand can accommodate such a low grade restaurant like this... first off the lady with 5 kids was more concerned about her very 1980s Sheena Easton look... her husband looked like he was off to the bar getting loaded... while her kids ran around the restaurant like wild animals... the servers - 3 of them for 5 tables seemed lost and for many English was a foreign language.... for 45$ a person it isn't worth to get less than Denny's or IHOP style service. i suggest you avoid this place unless your standards are really low.
google avatar

H G.

Yelp
Well being new to Houston - my friend and I went here and theres definitely more of a " mature " crowd. More of a wedding reception w a band feel .Good drinks but very pricey .
google avatar

Frank S.

Yelp
Mosies was a good server along with James! Ask for either one of them! Steak wasn't right but they made up for it without me asking! Top Notch Service!
google avatar

Kimberly M.

Yelp
It was a fun place now, it's a much "older" crowd and expensive...and my bill tonight was $13.53 per vodka and tonic...and a $3 tip to Harry, and it can be an expensive night. Seriously? Almost $14 for a drink?? Then add in a tip for the valet and if do not get your parking ticket stamped by the bartender -which they do not tell you that's an additional $8! And there's never a waitress around so good luck trying to get a drink in the first place unless you go to the bar. Always a good dance band, great place for taking your friends from out of town. No cover.

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Remington Restaurant at the St. Regis is great! It is very much a business scene throughout the day. It is pretty busy with meetings starting early in the day. Service is great and the staff is very friendly. Their soup, salmon, salad, and pasta dishes are great. Their breakfast menus are great as well. It is a bit pricey. Great for a nice meal in Houston as well as for meetings, conveniently located in the Galleria area of Houston!
google avatar

Sue P.

Yelp
This is an upscale hotel bar with the lights too bright and the band too mediocre, the drinks too boring, and the crowd too old fart to be much fun. ZZZZZzzzzz.

Janet M.

Yelp
I go there dancing almost every Saturday night but last Saturday on 3/3/18 they changed up everything. The band was not a good band to dance to - a friend told me they were going to change to a non-dancing place where you go to listen to easy music and jazz. BAD idea - they didn't even have one fifth of the crowd that actually shows up to dance and now they have lost me and my partner as a customer. I hope whoever thought this up reads my review!!!
google avatar

Sohel K.

Yelp
Overall amazing experience. Blown away by the ambiance, decor, food, and service. Do not be deceived by the $$$, it's more like $$$$$! I went here for valentines day, we didn't even get alcohol and our bill was over $200!!

David P.

Yelp
The band used to be very exciting and there were large crowds but lately the new band is not very good in my estimation and the crowds are small. The drinks have always been expensive but ,when the bands were good I didn't mind paying the prices. I wouldn't go back now.

Paul M.

Yelp
Just had Harry's Margarita. It was life changing. Made impeccably the way it was mixed 75 years ago. Ya gotta have one.

Claudia R.

Yelp
The only good thing about this place is the band. The rest is really bad! Parking sucks, service is extremely slow, overprice drinks and music sound is really bad. Supposedly the bar closes at 2, but music stops at 1 and lights are on. The food menu es very limited and i would have an opinion on it, but i order some wings and it took an hour to get them, they were cold so i return them. The waitress that was helping us had 10 tables, management need to work on better service for the price they are charging. You almost had to hunt the waitress to get a drink. At the end of the night when the bill came i decided not to leave any tip for all reasons above (I understand that waiters work for the tip) i was confronted by the waitress asking why i didn't leave her a tip. Seriously, after that kind of service????? Please don't waste your money on this place!!!!!!!
