The Remy

We went here twice in one week. When you first walk in the door you are greeted right away with friendly smiles. Everyone from the bartender to the servers made us feel welcome. They were very informative with the items on the menu and their recommendations were spot on. We were able to split an A5 Wagyu Ribeye steak that was cooked to perfection. The specialty cocktails were delicious. Wendy and Brooke were fabulous servers. I plan to come here again.

We celebrated our anniversary here and had such a wonderful experience! The value for what we ordered was great, and everything from start to finish exceeded expectations. The Wagyu steak was cooked perfectly. The side dishes were just as delicious, and the craft cocktails were excellent. Our server, Sean, was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. Overall, a perfect spot and hidden gem for a special occasion.

EDIT: I just spent 30 minutes listing to some Asian dude in a cowboy hat and shirt complaining how his life and work issues are such a problem for him. Please remember us customers are not there for you. Just a heads up, it's probably not a good idea to wear any clothing with an American flag on it. Most everything was great. The food was amazing, my ribeye was cooked exactly how I asked (medium) and the sides were amazing as well. Literally cleaned the plate. The service was good. I took a seat at the bar and had some really good conversation. Price was about average for what I ordered compared to the quality. Good music playing as well as a comfortable atmosphere I would definitely recommend you, yourself coming and giving Remys a try. Will return.

From start to finish, our meal was outstanding. We kicked things off with strong, well-crafted margaritas and crispy Caesar salads. Our steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and were tender and juicy. Don’t miss the mac and cheese side! For dessert, the deconstructed s’more was a standout. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was warm and lively. The downstairs bar adds a fun energy to the space. Highly recommend this place!

I had been looking forward to trying this place out for a LONG time. I hate when I hype up a place in my mind only to be disappointed IRL. First, let's start with the cons: We arrived for our reservation about 15 minutes early. We were invited to sit at the bar until our table was ready. It was full, but we did find seats at the bar. There were about 4-5 people working the bar. It took over 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. About 5-6 minutes after our reservation time, I went to the hostess' station to see if our table was ready. I was told, "Oh, your table is ready, we're just waiting for you to close out your bar tab before we seat you". HOW COME NO ONE TOLD US? After closing out the tab, we were seated. 10-12 minutes later, we still were not acknowledged. We had to flag someone down to ask for menus and water. Another 10 minutes or so went by and still no acknowledgement. We noticed people who had been seated after us were having their orders taken. (They all were ⚪️, we are 🟤.) FINALLY a waiter appeared and asked if everything was OK. My son told him that no one had come by our table yet. "Well, I'm here now!", our waiter, Gehrig said, rather passive-aggressively. The rest of our time there was uneventful, although Gehrig was certainly over-compensating after that. Now, the food: we had the crispy octopus appetizer, my son had the lamb chops and I had the wagyu filet. The octopus was delectable, perfectly cooked and accompanied by a delicious lemon dill cream sauce. The chops and the filet were just ok. My son makes better lamb chops and Ruth's Chris makes a better filet. We did enjoy our meal, but honestly, for the prices and the extreme lack of service, we will not return. Shawn was an incredible waiter. Very attentive with charming east coast vibes. Wonderful food, ambiance, and location. Ordered the charcuterie board, porterhouse steak with mushroom sauce, lobster macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, paired with an earthy pino nior. Highly recommend.

Came here for the first time to celebrate my wifes birthday. Gehrig was our serve and he wasnt wrongwhen he said you can throw a dart at anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed. Burrata Salad - 9/10. So flavorful and portion size is shareable. We shared it easily among 4 people Skirt Steak - 7/10. Decent but not disappointed either. I ate all 8oz before anyone else finished. Bread Service - 7/10. The bread could be a little softer, but the butter is delectable. Well worth getting it for the butter alone. Lamb Chops - 9/10. Phenomenal. 4 bones and flavors so well paired with the sauce it comes with. Wagyu NY strip - 9/10. My wife said she would come back even if this was the only thing on the menu. Cornbread - 6/10. Not bad. The sauce on top made it a slight saltier than I am used to. definitely big enough to share among 4 people though. Smores Brownie dessert - 8/10. Superb. Would absolutely order again. Shared amongst 4 people. A bit more marshmallow than I am used to but everything else in it was perfect. Small intimate restaurant. It feels like eating at someones home or cabin. Everyone is so friendly and very attentive. Parking is a bit scarce but there is tons of street parking.

This place has tons of old school charm. So glad I stopped by. This is this kind of spot I love to have a grown up birthday party. It's California casual so dress up or down. I ordered a drink called a creamsicle. Don't recall what was in it but I really enjoyed it. As a kind gesture and act of great customer service the bartender made me a mini espresso drink so I could sample it. I didn't eat but I'll definitely be back so I can try their lobster mac & cheese.

During a conversation about good steakhouses with my coworkers, we decided to google the best steakhouse in San Diego. The Remy came up as number 1. I now see why it was number 1, the steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I will return!!

Our server was Nate and he was awesome. He made us feel welcome from the moment that we arrived. It was my fiancé birthday! He says that of all the places that we've eaten; this was his favorite! Thank you for making his week and night!

We had a wonderful time celebrating my son's birthday here. The ambiance was lively and welcoming - I forgot our servers name, but everyone who came to our table was friendly. For appetizers we ordered crispy octopus, and tuna sashimi - both were tasty! Octopus was cooked perfectly. I didn't get photos of our steaks but it was tender with a nice warm red center, just how we like it. The food was amazing as well as the desserts. We'll definitely be back!

Delicious!!! The service was great. We were seated downstairs in an adorable and cozy dining room with a second bar. The food was unstoppably amazing. We got the A5 wagyu croquettes, wagyu ribeye, mashed potatoes, green beans, cornbread, and scallops. We did end up getting a free dessert for my boyfriend's birthday. Our server was Sean, but everyone that came to our table was professional and kind.

We had a good experience for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We made a reservation online and requested the downstairs area. Upon entering the establishment you can see the attention to detail they have done to remodel this restaurant. It's like a cool cowboy decor and not tacky, or normal steak house. I gave them minus 1 star as they had run out of the bread service, after we had ordered it, so we didn't get to try it, and it was not that late in the evening around 7pm. We sat at a corner table, that was perfect and intimate for our dinner. We were promptly greeted when seated and the wait staff was awesome and very attentive. Our server Ryan recommended some great wine the Harvey & Harriet and also the type of meat to choose since it was our first time visiting this restaurant. We ordered: - Harvey & Harriet Syrah blend wine and it was delicious, very smooth and paired perfectly with our steak. - Wagyu ribeye steak that was perfectly cooked and buttery soft. The whiskey peppercorn sauce we added provides some delicious flavor to the steak. We shared the steak since it was 16oz cut. - Crispy Brussel sprouts that were full of flavor with bacon and some sweet golden raisins - Small Mac and cheese which was gooey, cheesy and so good. It had pieces of bacon and a crunchy crust. By the end of our meal we were so full. Will definitely be back.

First time here since the Remy opened and took over the old steakhouse that was previously there. I did love the atmosphere and how they decorated the place. Our service was amazing as well. Terrible parking, the street had a few spots luckily. The food was underwhelming. Wedge Salad 5/5 - great crisp salad, loved the crispy shallots. Scallops 2/5 - Rubbery, fishy, not a fan with the flavors that accompanied the dish. Wagyu Ribeye 3/5 - The cook was fine, I did like that it came with green beans (al dente) and mashed potatoes (flavorless). The steak itself didn't have much flavor, I asked for horseradish on the side to help. Crispy Brussels Sprouts 2/5 - the definitely were NOT crispy. They were soaked in a thai chili sauce which was overpowering. We'll be back to try their brunch, which I hear is amazing.

We finally made it to The Remy for New Year's dinner and it did not disappoint. I've always wanted to try this restaurant , and getting reservations online was super easy. They do have their own parking lot, but it fills up fast, luckily there's plenty of street parking nearby. We were seated early, which was a nice surprise, and the restaurant is much bigger than I expected with both lower and upper levels. The vibe was lively but still felt upscale and comfortable. We started with the shrimp cocktail and mussels, both were soooo good. Fresh, flavorful, and dishes we'd absolutely order again. For our mains, we tried the wagyu filet and wagyu ribeye. Both came with mashed potatoes and green beans, and everything was cooked perfectly. We also added a side of cornbread, which was super moist and delicious. Honestly, not a bad dish in sight. Service was great from start to finish, and the chef even came out to check on how we were enjoying everything...a really nice touch. Overall, The Remy delivered on food, service, and experience. We'll definitely be back soon!

Pleasantly surprised by their steak and would give that a 4/5 and the rest of their food closer to 3.5/5. We went for the happy hour to try out their food. I would recommend the steak frites; steak was tender and perfectly cooked to medium well, fries were my favorite type (i like them limp so if you like them crispy, you might not enjoy these), but salad was heavily overdressed. Filet medallions with mashed potatoes was a laughably small portion that was equivalent to one kebab but was tender. The steak from the steak frites and the filet medallions were pretty much equally tender. Wagyu smashburger was average but a pretty good deal for $11. Caesar salad was also a very small portion for $9; know that it is not a traditional caesar and has more lemon in it. Staff were nice and constantly checked in on us to see how we were doing (maybe a little too much but it was fine). I loved their decor and the ambiance was nice. They have a parking lot, and while it isn't the biggest lot, you should have no trouble finding parking. Looks like there is enough street parking for overflow.

Came in for my birthday lunch with my mom. The place was POPPIN during a lunch hour in December. Plenty of large groups. Thankfully no wait. My mother and I shared a salad and steak entree. The waiter was great and had the kitchen split the plates for us. It was so kind. The food was great. Fresh and delectable. They didn't have many beers but they had Fall Brewing which is my top choice. I will say the cocktails were very expensive. The average was over $20. I'm sure the quality was great but I passed on them this time. I plan to return during happy hour!

The spot is definitely a hidden gem! My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary dinner. We came mid November and the restaurant was decorated with Christmas decor. I LOVED IT. We made reservations for a Monday night at 5:15p, but it wasn't that busy when we got there. We ordered a Caesar salad and a large bacon mac n cheese for apps. I am still thinking about them a week later. My boyfriend got the wagyu ribeye and I got the way ny strip. Might have been a mistake because it was so much food, but everything was delicious! Our server was friendly and very tentative to our table! Overall experience was great. Definitely come hungry, all the selections of meat were so yummy! I'm so glad I got to finally try this place. We will definitely be back to try happy hour.

Came here with friends for happy hour and i can't believe i waited so long to join them for their weekly happy hour. We ordered the beef rib, wagyu burger, beef medallions to go with our cocktails. The service was great and at the end they knew the drink we waited and kept them coming when we finished the cocktails. The food was delicious, the burger was definitely the highlight of the happy hour. Can't wait for the next time I come back

They have a great happy hour and really nice bar staff. Each time we come in, everyone is very welcoming. It gets busy here, so sometimes we struggle to find some seats, but it's usually just the two of us so we've never not been able to be seated. Last time they were nice enough to let us sit in non bar seats for our group of four, so long as we were out before the dinner reservation they had that table saved for. My husband really likes getting the steak frites and they always make me a mean mocktail.

We had a wonderful dinner here. The meal started with warm bread and flavored butter, which was absolutely delicious. For my main dish, I ordered the skirt steak, and it was cooked perfectly. I added chimichurri sauce on the side, and it paired beautifully with the steak. The dish came with mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans were slightly crunchy, just the way I like them, and well seasoned. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. A truly delicious dinner from start to finish.

The facade/exterior was a little dated, but inside was nicely decorated for the holidays. Our meal was great! Service was a little slow, but overall good experience. Not many steak houses open during lunch time, but Remy is opened for lunch. We ordered various dishes and the outstanding ones in my opinion were: 1) Tomahawk steak 2) corn bread

Reservations recommended but not required - we went on a Thursday evening and there were plenty of openings and tables. Dress code - a lot of people were cute casual but you wouldn't stick out if you dressed up either. Great steak! Cooked to perfection and comes with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies (broccolini for us). We also ordered 3 sides and my favorite was the brussel sprouts. It came with raisins on top which made it a nice sweet and savory combo. Bone marrow was super delicious too. Cornbread wad on the sweet side so we actually ate it as a dessert. Drinks were strong. They have their own Remy special drinks. I ordered just a regular dirty martini and thankfully they had blue cheese olives to accompany it. There is a small speakeasy type vibe bar on the lower level and a game room on the side with billiards and shuffle board and darts. Nice to enjoy as a nightcap or while you wait for a table.

I am a steak lover, so I had to check this spot out when I heard good things about it. My visit was from May of 2024 and I met up with some foodie friends here. The ambience has a classic steakhouse vibe. We started with some drinks, so I got a mocktail while my friends got cocktails instead. We shared the ceviche, but it's tomato-based and the not the citrusy kind that I prefer. For the main course, we opted for the bone-in ribeye to share and it was beautifully presented. The sauces were great, but I don't remember enjoying the steak very much. We added asparagus and mushrooms as our sides, so the meal was very filling. My friend also ordered an espresso martini as her nightcap. Overall, I had a pleasant time here and might check out their happy hour next time!

What an amazing steak dinner! It has been years since we have truly enjoyed a great steak dinner! Remy's ambiance, service, and food was hands down the BEST in San Diego! Every dish we ordered (not pictured: Brussels sprouts and Cinnamon brown sugar butter cornbread) had such amazing flavor and every bite was paired together beautifully. Thank you to our waiter, Mark for taking such great care of us and taking the time to explain each dish. We will absolutely be back and can't wait for the next experience!

I've been to The Remy twice now with coworkers, and I really enjoy this spot. The atmosphere is great--stylish yet relaxed--and the service has been excellent both times. A big plus is that they have their own parking lot, which makes things much easier compared to other places in the area. My go-to drink here is the Frankie Wallbanger, and I can't recommend it enough. I order it every time--it's that good! I also like coming here for happy hour, which is a solid deal. As for the food, the first time I ordered from the dinner menu and tried the lamb chops with seasoned vegetables and mashed potatoes. The flavor was spot on, but the lamb wasn't as tender as I prefer. On my second visit, I went with the Wagyu Smashburger, and it was very tasty--definitely something I'd order again. Overall, The Remy has a chill vibe, good service, and some solid food and drinks. Between the speakeasy, happy hour, and parking convenience, I'll definitely be returning. If you haven't tried it yet, I recommend checking it out.

Fabulous lunch date with girlfriend to celebrate birthdays, succeeding in conquering the week, and catching up. Lovely service: attentive without cloying, excellent suggestions, patient with our banter. Dishes generous in portion; well seasoned; presented well. In hindsight, should've skipped the salted rim on the Bloody Mary, as it kicked everything up to a tad too salty. My fault; note for next time!

Happy hour at The Remy was awesome. My boyfriend and I walked in, no reservations, at sat at the bar area surrounded by plenty of other diners that seemed to be enjoying their time. Our server was so kind and gave me a great drink recommendation when I was being indecisive, and we were able to order pretty quickly! The servings were small, but that was to be expected for happy hour; still, I got steak for less than $30 so that's a win in my book. Everything was still delicious! The seasonal espresso martini (as of November 2025) was amaaaazing and the bartender seemed to be really proud of it. Would definitely come back!

First time here after hearing lots of good things finally got to check it out! Walked in with no reservation but they were great at accommodating promptly. The restaurant was also decorated very cute and festive with all the Christmas decor. Our waiter suggested a few menu items and drinks. We ordered drinks (pictured) and the food (pictured) was superb! We will definitely be back for a steak night. This is a great spot to celebrate a special occasion as well.

We came for dinner on Tuesday night, to celebrate our birthdays. Our server was friendly and shared the specials. We started with delicious cocktails the Banana bread carajillo and chasing the Frey. For starters we enjoyed steak tartare, and each had a burrata and a Caesar salad. For dinner I enjoyed my scallops and lobster tail. Sadly the drawn butter was not hot, i had asked for another thinking maybe I waited too long but the second one was still cold. They must've turned off the warmer for the butter so that was disappointing. My friend had the steak and said it was tasty. It's such a classy place, I'd love to return for more.

I love this restaurant! Although it is only a few years old and contemporary it kind of has that Old School feel. The decor is luxurious, comfortable & beautiful. It is conveniently located in the Hotel Circle area right off the 8 freeway near the I5. This is most definitely a date night worthy establishment. We stopped in for lunch and were so happy we did. We were seated promptly by the cheerful hostess. Francisco, our server, was fabulous. So friendly and fun. His service was most excellent! I had the Beef Tartar & Quail egg served with thinly sliced & toasted baguette. Scrumptious! My companion had the Steak & Salad lunch. The beef was flavorful and melt in your mouth. The salad crisp & fresh. I had a tasty Bloody Mary, my companion had a half bottle of the rich & delicious Emilio Moro 2021. My dessert was a heavenly Water Lilly Martini. I highly recommend The Remy for fine food and excellent service.

We couldn't decide what we wanted for dinner so we drove around until we ended up at The Remy. We had been meaning to check this place out for sometime and happy we stopped in. We sat at the downstairs bar. The space was welcoming and clean. Yvonne was our bartender. She made a great dirty martini!!! I had to have a few. Although we were a bit bummed to see that the happy hour ends at 5 but it's something that we will be coming back for. We started with the Caesar salad. My go to at every place. It was sooooo good here. We also ordered the table side bread with some sort of lime butter. Nothing spectacular and honestly I would have preferred regular butter. We ordered the filet, medium which came with mashed potatoes and broccolini. The meat was so tender and juicy...yum! The veggies and mashed potatoes were equally as tasty!!! We had a few drinks after which were all pretty good! Looking forward to returning to try out the happy hour menu...those birria fries are on my list of things to try.

We tried this restaurant on a whim because they had last minute availability for 6 people and wow! Food was fantastic. Beautiful and unique restaurant. Great service. Nice portions, great quality food. Cocktails are delicious as well. Service was great, Mark took great care of us. We all absolutely loved the tuna and hamachi, so much flavor. The steaks with all their sauces are amazing. Especially the peppercorn. Sides we enjoyed, the lobster Mac, Brussels sprouts, cornbread, and bone marrow. Cesar salad, mushrooms, croquettes and oysters were great too! Only thing we didn't love was the octopus. Absolutely can't wait to come back here

Loved the food here and the service was good. We were seated upstairs and the decor by the bar was nice plus the bathrooms had a mirror in each stall! Octopus appetizer - the octopus was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were yummy. There is a Thai chili oil that made it a bit too spicy even with the yogurt for me, but if you love spicy, this dish will be even better! Would recommend! 22oz bone in rib eye - ordered this medium rare and the cook was good. The meat wasn't as tender as some other ribeyes that I've had but the flavor and seasoning was really good. If the tenderness was on point, this would have been perfection! Brussel sprouts - the maple glaze was a nice touch to the flavor and everyone enjoyed these Wild mushrooms - the goat cheese truffle sauce was overpowering for me and some people said the dish itself was too salty Lobster Mac and cheese - the portion size of the lobster meat was quite generous compared to other places and the sauce/noodles were really good! There was a good balance of the creaminess from the cheese so I didn't feel too full after a few bites. Bone marrow - I didn't try this myself, but the table enjoyed it and it came with bread! Pistachio cake with strawberry rhubarb and gelato - nice light and refreshing flavor! Lava cake with vanilla ice cream - this was really good even though I'm not a big chocolate fan. It was devoured! Old fashioned - This was just ok for me, tasted a bit watered down. Spicy tequila drink (forgot the name) - way spicer than I thought it would be for a drink. Only order if you want it pretty spicy. They also can't swap out the tequila so it has to be patron. Overall the food was really good, drinks are ok and the rest of the group seemed to like all the main courses they received!

My fiancé and I came here immediately after he proposed to me! I do remember it being a bit dark inside but after being seated, my eyes adjusted and the lighting fit the mood. Our dinner was phenomenal, my chicken was roasted to perfection and very flavorful. It leaned more to the salty side than spicy. It was our first time trying calamari and it wasn't bad! He ordered a steak and we also shared some brussel sprouts and the lobster mac and cheese. The brussels had raisin preserve which was interesting but it still tasted pretty good. The staff was absolutely wonderful and treated us to a sweet dessert. I can't remember our server's name but he was so kind! Extremely attentive and answered all of our questions about the menu. I will say that the bathroom had an interesting set up but aside from that, whenever I'll be in San Diego again, I'd love to come back!

Great happy hour! $10 craft cocktails. A really good Caesar salad. I got the filet and my friend got the steak frites. Both with peppercorn sauce. It was absolutely delicious! I'll would definitely recommend this place. Oh and the best part is happy hour starts at 2:30pm during the week.

We went to Remy Steakhouse for my brother's birthday, and overall it was a great night. Atmosphere: The vibe in there is exactly what I love -- low-lit, intimate, and cozy without feeling cramped. We were seated in a booth with soft lighting around us and a little table lamp, which made the whole space feel warm and private. Even though the bar was close by, our booth felt like our own little bubble, perfect for talking and enjoying the evening. The ambiance alone sets the tone for a really nice dining experience. Service: Our server, Sean, was amazing -- truly a 10/10. It was packed that night (surprising for a Monday), but he stayed attentive, patient, and on point with all his recommendations. I honestly look forward to being served by him again. Appetizers: We ordered the shrimp cocktail and the A5 Wagyu croquettes. The shrimp cocktail was a hit -- especially with my brother who is very particular. The croquettes were good, but for $35 and only four small pieces, the portion size felt a little crazy. Entrées: My brother had the lamb chops with bordelaise sauce and loved them. My mom ordered the ribeye with the mushroom sauce, and my husband got the Wagyu ribeye with the same sauce -- both dishes were a win. I ordered an 8oz Wagyu cut and, since I'm pregnant, I needed it cooked more thoroughly. Even with that, it was still flavorful with crispy edges, and the peppercorn sauce was amazing pair for it. Drinks: My mom and husband tried the "Godfather" cocktail and had multiple rounds. I got the lemonade which was fine, nothing to write home about. Overall: Between the atmosphere, the service, and the food, I'd rate our experience an 8.5/10. It's definitely a spot I'd recommend for a date night, birthday, or any special occasion -- and if you can, ask for Sean!

Overall is more like a 3.5 Stars, but I like to round up. Came here for weekend Happy Hour with a few friends. Since we got there right when they opened, we had no trouble getting seated. After about 25-30m it started getting busier. It's a nice dining area. We wondered how long it has been around as everything looks brand new, and it has a nice ambiance. The staff was friendly and helpful. Service: 4 Stars Food: 3.5 Stars Drinks: 2 Stars After reviewing the menu, we got the following: FOOD: *24hr Smoked Dino Rib ($25) - We were excited about this as they have a limited amount. As it's a beef rib, it is big and great to share. Our piece was quite fatty, and they didn't skimp on the sauces. It was good, but a bit salty, especially with the extra condiments. *BBQ Pork Flatbread ($16) - Both my friends were pleasantly surprised by how good this was. Pulled pork, pickled onions, bbq sauce, what's not to love? It was well done and one of the favorites. *Marlin Tostada ($8) - We thought this was ok. Not particularly memorable for me, as I try to recall the flavors as I write this. *Wagyu Smashburger (comes with fries) ($11) - My friend loved this. I thought it was very good for the price and would get it again. DRINKS: *Smoked Cherry Cola - my friend mentioned that the soda was flat and wasn't too happy with this drink. From what we could tell, it looks like they use bottles for their soda, so it must have been made with an old bottle. There were no bubbles to be found. *French 75 - This drink promised "bubble baths of fun" but was also super flat. Aside from that I thought the flavor was pretty good. --They didn't send anything back, nor did they complain, this is more observational. *Watermelon Sangria - I wasn't a fan of the flavor. I think I would have enjoyed it to be a bit fruitier, but my preference is a sweeter drink and this one was more red wine forward. You may like it better than I did. *Boilermaker - the friends said that this was as advertised and a good deal, but I don't think it excited their taste buds. We would have tried more but as we were deciding what we wanted, our other friend texted and invited us over to dinner.

Visited Remy Steak expecting a more polished experience. I ordered a salad and asked for it to be chopped. Instead, an additional item from the menu was added without my request or confirmation, changing the order entirely. When I pointed this out, the server became defensive and said I was being rude, then stated she would get the manager. I was simply asking for my original order to be corrected. Handling basic order issues calmly is part of being on the floor. That said, the manager was very nice and professional, and resolved the situation appropriately, which I appreciated. Be careful when ordering here--clarify everything, because requests can be misconstrued and items may be added without clear confirmation. Being made to feel uncomfortable over a mistake you didn't make isn't a great dining experience, especially when you're the one paying. The steak was very good. Will, the manager, was excellent--professional, calm, and clearly understands hospitality far better than the service I experienced on the floor. His handling of the situation was the highlight of the visit.

We've been meaning to come here for quite a while and finally got around to it. It's a bit unassuming on the side of the road but looks bigger on the inside and has those nice dark steakhouse vibes you want. Staff was all very helpful and made a couple dry jokes and went over the menu with us. The oysters were some of the best I've ever had and the ribeye was excellent. Definitely don't skip the macaroni either!

Terrible experience. I came here a few years back and was impressed. Last night I had a reservation at 715 (midweek) for 2. We were seated pretty quickly. Our waiter was very sweet but I could tell he was running thin. I asked if we could be seated upstairs instead of in the corner next to the bar and they told me they had a private event upstairs so I let it go. No biggie. We ordered some appetizers and a steak to share. When I tell you it took FOREVER to get appetizers I am not overreacting. This isn't our waiters fault, he was really doing his best. I saw him running around the entire time we were there. The appetizers finally arrived and they were pretty good. The bread was stiff but I didn't want to send it back as I figured they were already spread thin and truth be told I was too hungry to care lol. Our steak came out and it was cold, with an entirely raw center. We like our steak medium rare, so we're not afraid of a pink center but our steak was purple, and cold to the touch. I sent it back. I have never sent a steak back. Ever. But the steak was inedible. Overall it took about 2ish hours for us to eat cold steak, stiff bread and leave. I'm done with this place. Go at your own risk lol. Also the lobster Mac and cheese was like $40 and tasted like a teenager made it... I removed the tail to spread the meat onto the pasta .. not typically how this dish is served at a steakhouse. I wish I had picked somewhere else for date night.

Went for happy hour and the drinks were delicious and strong. Got the birria fries and they were flavorful and crispy. Very good. The wagyu smash burger also always a good value and flavor as well. Came with fries and perfectly crispy. Service was great and atmosphere was nice also.

I went during the Christmas and the ambiance is so festive! The food and service was amazing, and a fair price! Would definitely come back and recommend to others looking for a lowkey steak dinner.

o I just left Remy, I was highly impressed for this little building on the side of the highway here in Southern California. It's among a group of rag tag hotels on hotel Circle. But a little diamond in a rough. I would highly recommend you check this place out. Looks like they have great steaks and it's just a beautiful little establishment. Today, I had the fondue burger, although a little pricey at $26 I would say it's the best burger I've had in a long time. The burger was perfect. The bun was well acquainted, and the fondue was put in a little pot that you could pour on yourself for your cheese and it was delicious also for dipping with your french fries. Contrary to other opinions on this site, the french fries were delicious. I came at lunchtime, so the crowd was limited, but I think they can host a fair amount of people here. Afterward, I walked around. They have a little outdoor area with a pool table. They have a downstairs with a speakeasy type of atmosphere where they have their wine cellar and private liquor lockers, and a small bar. Anyway, I highly recommend. I don't think they can disappoint anyone. Ryan, my bartender and waiter was fantastic and very knowledgeable, and Brooke gave me a whole tour of the speakeasy area, which is only open on Saturdays and Sundays that seemed very cool. Finding these local places is not easy in the world of chains. San Diego take a look I'm leaving tomorrow and when I'm back this will be on my itinerary!

Very cool decor and warm ambiance - I sat at the bar on a Tuesday night, moderately busy, but excellent bartenders. The Remy Old Fashioned is simple perfection. I had a delightful wedge salad made unconventional with the friend shoestring onions, but balanced will with bacon lardons, the wagyu filet was amazing - perfectly cooked medium rare and I chose the peppercorn sauce and was very happy with the choice! Good blistered green beans and mashed potatoes came with and I left happy, full and prepared to return on next visit to hotel circle SD.

THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER Went to celebrate my divorce and had the best experience ever. Everyone was awesome and made my dinner memorable. Started with the best Cesar salad, followed with the bread and heavenly butter. My sister had the most amazing scallops and I had the most flavorful filet (ask for some peppercorn sauce). I had the Green Point drink and my sister had the Painkiller. The amazing chef gave us a new dessert to try and it was so delicious. 10 out 10. The Remy - San Diego Very upscale and posh steakhouse with an amazing vibe! The Remy, in addition the their dining area, has two bars - one upstairs and one downstairs. We sat at the one downstairs, which felt cozier and a bit more private...perfect if you're looking for a semi-secluded experience. Our bartender, Cierra, was fabulous! Super friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and really attentive. We stopped in last-minute to have a drink before heading to our hotel, and even though we definitely weren't dressed for fine dining (I was in a hoodie and my husband in a flannel and hat), the staff treated us with total respect and made us feel welcome. That's not always the case at higher-end places, so we really appreciated it. We ended up ordering the Wagyu beef tartare, which was absolutely delicious - tender, flavorful, and the black garlic aioli added the perfect touch. I also had the Banana Bread Carajillo cocktail which was delightful, though I was hoping for a little more banana flavor. The real star of the evening was the butter cake! Hands down one of the best I've ever had. Moist, rich, and decadent, with caramel drizzle, a little kettle corn for crunch, a roasted fig and a scoop of vanilla ice cream to balance it all out. Truly outstanding. The other guests at the bar were super friendly, and we ended up having some great conversations. The dinner dishes we saw come out looked incredible, and several guests confirmed their steaks were cooked perfectly and delicious. We'll absolutely be back next time we're in San Diego! Also worth noting is that they have happy hour every day: Monday-Friday from 2:30-5 pm, and weekends from 3-5 pm. We missed it this visit but look forward to experiencing it next visit.

I have returned to the Remy on a few occasions It's a perfect spot to grab a drink while you're killing time to meet up with friends who get off work later than I do. My most recent visit was for my friends birthday happy hour celebration. A happy hour is in the bar area with a lot of great food and specials. I generally get the burger cause it's so good but this time I decided on a petite steak I honestly am planning a trip tomorrow just because as I write this review, I'm thinking about my meal there I still have not tried out the dining room and who knows if I ever will because I'm a happy hour kind of girl

Overall solid steak dinner and a great ambiance. Sort of a Western tavern meets upscale whiskey bar vibe which I loved. Service is efficient and staff is friendly. Location is super central in Mission Valley- I think many would be surprised where it's located! It is typically busy but I've never seen it TOO busy. I'd make a reservation just in case though. Was happy with the filet and sides - I probably wouldn't add it to my rotation of San Diego steakhouses but I've been multiple times and do really enjoy it. Next time I may just come for apps, drinks, and vibes. Overall worth the visit!

I'm not sure what the hype is about this restaurant but $400 for 4 people before tip is steep considering it wasn't the best meal. Cornbread was too sweet. Oysters were shucked poorly and shells were in them, plus they were very low quality oysters that tasted fishy (from Baja). I ate one and it did not taste good at all, even with lemon and sauces. My stomach agreed when I got home. The bread was amazing though, perfect texture and it came with a unique herb butter. I wish we had ordered more of it. Spicy mama cocktail was good but contained way too much ice. For my entree I ordered the strip steak which was surprisingly seasoned well and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The Chimichurri sauce was amazing. But the mashed potatoes had no flavor and the broccolini was SO SALTY! I love salt but the broccolini tasted like someone left the top off the lid of a salt shaker and it spilled all over. I kept seeing this restaurant all over social media posts and it had been on my list to dine at for a while, but unfortunately a lot of the food disappointed. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because our server Sean was great, very personable and attentive. I won't be returning or recommending this place to others for dinner, maybe happy hour though, but I'm glad I finally gave it a try.

Gorgeous location that looks like a European Cottage! From the smiling welcome by the host, to the quality wait staff, everything was classy. Rib Eye was delicious, served with mashed potato's and fresh Vegatables. My associate LOVED THE PLACE SO MUCH they couldn't stop taking selfies!! Reservations recommended, but staff was excellent at responding and confirming. Strong Recommend!

Service plus food were great! The restaurant was very cooperative. We were celebrating a birthday with 10 people.

We made a reservation online for the same day. We were running a little late so we gave them a call to let them know, the receptionist was friendly and professional, they said they would hold our table and to drive safely. We were sat within 5 minutes of arriving. I ordered the Frankie Wallbanger drink and it tasted like pure olive juice. I switched my drink to the Icy Lafleur and it wasn't as sweet or smooth as I thought. I was very happy that our waiter Nate noticed I did not enjoy the drink as much as I tried to, he offered to get me a different drink. I ended up loving a pineapple tiki vibe of a margarita. Our waiter remained very helpful with high energy. His shadow Molly remained attentive and professional. We ordered Mediterranean mussels and were later informed they had sold the last portion of mussels. We changed our starter to oysters and a5 potato croquettes. To be honest both the oysters and potato croquettes were very underwhelming. Based on what our server explained we thought the potatoes were like "adult tater tots" when they really tasted like fried mashed potatoes. We waited about an hour for our main entrees to arrive. Then we eventually became too hangry to wait and asked if they could make our dishes to-go. We noticed when we arrived home my daughter did not receive the shrimp we ordered with the lobster Mac and cheese, which was another disappointment. My mom said she could not finish her pork chops because they were extremely salty. My mom is hypersensitive to sodium and sad she had to give her meal to a relative. My wagyu steak was decent, definitely lacked flavor but with a1 sauce it's good and I'm so happy it was cooked medium as I asked. I'm disappointed in the time it took us to receive food, along with the underwhelming starters but our server Nate was such a good vibe. He was attentive, funny , confident, knowledgeable and professional. I do not think we'll be returning but I'm happy we had great service from Nate.

Visited here early this month with my wife and four of our friends. We sat upstairs and were immediately taken by the decor and architecture of the building. I love exposed wood beams and just exposed wood In general. The ambience was warm and welcoming as it felt like dining in a mountain home or even a Central European country during winter time. The food start to finish was brought out relatively fast (when you're sipping cocktails you don't exactly keep track of time. There were no weak points when it came to the food. Seriously well thought out menu with everything we tried being a winner. Highly recommend this establishment to anyone living in the SD area or just visiting. I'll personally bring you here myself.
