Google
Wonderful lunch stop! Had the chargrilled wings with bacon barbecue sauce and it was amazing. Next, their Past Valentino, their specialty pasta dish and side house salad and it was wonderful! Everything was fresh! Sorry, I ate before pics but took one of their cobbler!! Another win!! It was flavorful without being overly sweet. Must try, worth it!

The Strawberry Lemon Drop I had was refreshing. The bruschetta was pretty nice, and the waitress recommended to try it with a side of goat cheese and I t did add a good twist to it. Also the TRG Top Chop was very juicy & tender. Definitely loved the maple syrup & creole mustard dipping sauce for the pork chop, and the grilled asparagus was tasty. If I had to say something , I’d wish there were more than three asparagus’s!

Google
Good food, good service, nice atmosphere. A little loud, not because of the patrons, it just seemed to be the restaurant acoustics. We went with a group of about 10. No issue calling ahead for a table that size. Server handled all people, no issue - food came hot, drinks stayed cold. I wasn't blown away, but I also wasn't disappointed. No reason to remove stars, but at the same time I don't know what would draw me back here in a hurry. Hard to describe the overall sentiment - I would say it is as expected. We left happy and wouldn't be upset returning.

This is a unique restaurant that I have driven three times in one month because the food is great. The first time I had the stuffed pork chop. Most delicious and ample amount. Second time was fried chicken special. And the last time I had the blackened flounder. OMG it's for sure a do again. The side dish of sweet potato cakes was so good I would not share . It's a must try... You will not be disappointed.

Google
My review applies to To Go orders: this was my first visit to this establishment. After placing my order for a hamburger, to be cooked medium rare, I was given a price that he said included "the order, taxes and fess". Yep. Apparently they started a "prep fee" during COVID as an add on and have kept it five years later. My fee was about $1.50 for one burger. I asked if the server got the money and he said no, it stays with the restaurant. Well none of that left me with a very good feeling, but the real kicker was when I got home and unpacked the meal. There was no napkins, no mustard, no mayo, no ketchup, no salt and pepper and the burger was cooked well done! The place just doesn't care, so beware! In business you get one chance to make a good first impression and if you don't you better try like hell to make it right for the customer. They did not. They simply shrugged and said "that's the way it is". My experience was awful and the staff's indifference to the customer added insult to injury. Way to go Republic Grill for losing a customer on the first try.

My Name Is Not I.

Google
All I can say, is they got some of the best French Onion soup around. The flavor is phenomenal. They were other good options on the menu, but I really enjoyed the French onion soup here. Don't skip out on the fried chicken Sunday's either. You'll stop going to the fast food chicken joints after eating here.

Google
just had dinner here for the first time ever and oh my it was so. so. SO good. The food was amazing & so was the service. Kris, our server, was very informative & gave great recommendations (the jalapeños bacon mac n cheese) all while Darnell, the manager, stopped by to check in and even offered us a free dessert to enjoy at home as first timers. will definitely be returning to try the entire menu YAY

Google
Out of this world. The steak and avocado salad was incredible. We had calamari for an appetizer it might be the best I’ve ever had. My cheeseburger was perfect. The sweet potato fries were flawless. Our waitress, Tess, was so attentive and made us feel special.

Yelp
9.30.25 We went to dinner with 5 other couples to celebrate a birthday. Th service was great! He kept our drinks filled and cleared the table when needed. The blackened flounder was cooked perfect! The veggies were zucchini and yellow squash. Yum! My husband ordered the grilled fish tacos. He said they were good. I have had this place bookmarked for a long time. So happy we tried it. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
The food is consistently delicious and we always have great service too. Our favorites are; Wedge Salad Chicken Fried Chicken Shrimp Scampi

Yelp
Apparently do not try to book night of on open table. Would not honor my open table reservation and greeted by a rude entitled girl who apparently can't work the open table app. Not sure I will be back.

Yelp
I ordered through Favor. I ordered chicken fried steak, it was very flat with little meat. I also ordered Mac and cheese bites and received crab cakes which wasn't good. My order was wrong and that was not a good chicken fried steak. The green beans were good.

Yelp
Elated this place is just a hop skip & a jump away! Promptly seated, nice lighting & what I call country chic American decor. I ordered the Republic salad with both the house regular ranch & jalapeño ranch as I was a tad concerned the jalapeño would be too spicy. It was superb & though not too spicy, it did pack a slight heat build up after multiple bites. The grilled chicken on top was perfectly season & tasty! Hubs got the arugula salad w/ fillet Marsala with asparagus & what they called glazed sweet potatoes. I say that cuz though we're out of this world delicious, we both agreed they were yams not sweet potatoes. His filet mignon was cooked to a perfect medium. We shall return!

Yelp
Food is very good - had a tough time deciding what to get, there were a half dozen menu items I want to try. Will definitely be back again.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing service. Hubby and I stopped here on our staycation. The food did not disappoint, we had the crab cakes a must get and calamari for appetizers. I will say the calamari was a little gummier than I've tried. It was my husband's first time. For dinner my husband had the rib eye special and I had the Cajun flounder! Cornbread is scrumptious! If we are ever back in magnolia we will be back!

Yelp
So Christmas Eve and in town with Family and they want to go to their favorite place for lunch, Which we learned has been closed since the PANDEMIC On Tuesdays until today. I had perused the menus online before hand and the pics of the dishes all looked very appetizing. But still wasn't sure exactly what I was getting. We had reservations and were promptly seated on time. The restaurant wasn't very full but that changed pretty quickly as family's streamed in after the lunch on this mild Christmas Eve afternoon. The inside is a low light open dining room with real wood tables, 4 tops, and booths. Lovely flatware and cloth napkins. Our waiter came promptly and took our drink orders and we looked at the menus. One sheet, printed front and back ... I forgot to take pics... but go online because the beautiful pics of the food online, are omitted on the menus handed out. So I had the grilled chicken with grilled vegetables and sweet potatoes. I also had a CUP of Chicken and Sausage Gumbo. I started both before I took my pics, I was particularly hungry this day and kept forgetting to snap them! So the gumbo was good, it had that nice "muddy" taste from the first spoonful.' It was lacking in veg, I found a couple of tiny pieces of celery in it .. but nary a bell pepper or onion, I think maybe they just cooked away? It would have been better if it had had some seafood, especially shrimp, I believe real gumbo has some seafood, but it was already $8 for the cup and I'm sorry I just didn't think it was worth another $8 just to add shrimp to a cup. The grilled chicken was grilled well, a little dry, and had lots of spice but lacked flavor somehow? It was more like a blackened and grilled breast. The homemade BBQ sauce definitely was needed to help it out. The "grilled" vegetables, and I say that because these didn't appear to be grilled. None of them bared any grill markings. They seemed to have the same spice as the chicken and they were oily like they had been saute'd in butter or oil. A shake or two of salt helped them. I loved the combination of vegetables they chose and looked forward to them being GRILLED. So the FAMOUS MAGIC MELTING/pudding/Flan whatever you use to describe them, Sweet Potatoes... they are worth all the HYPE! and they were the highlight of my meal! Sweet, warm and pudding soft with seems to be a brown sugar glaze? Heavenly! My dining partners had a range of things from a BLAT (bacon, lettuce Avocado, Tomato) with fries and he HOOVERED it! Not a spec left and said the bacon was perfect. Another had the lasagna and got a side salad and it was beautiful but huge. Full of frisée, lettuces, tomatoes and all kinds of stuff. I should have took a pic! He said it was fantastic. But the lasagna came and it was a bit odd... he thought it was weird the sausage was a link on the side instead of inside the lasagna. He only ate about half of it... said he didn't like it much but took the rest of it home. One had the chicken piccata with sides and loved everything. So all in all for me this place is hit and miss. But I would return again for the sweet potatoes and I want to try what looks like in the pics online home made onion rings. And they have amazing sounding seafood dishes... I have my EYE on the Pasta Sterling for next time!

Yelp
I got take out and it was very fast. they gave me an accurate time waiting period. The worker was helpful and immediately recognized i was waiting for togo. i like that the kitchen separates the chicken and dressing from the salad, so i can assemble at home. It keeps the lettuce fresh :) . the chicken was seasoned very well, delicious! overall easy dinner night vibe.

Yelp
This Southern spot is a total treat! The food is great, but the strawberry shortcake really steals the show. Fresh strawberries, soft cake, and whipped cream make it the perfect sweet ending to your meal. Highly recommend!

Yelp

Yelp
I've never ordered anything I didn't like here. Service is always spectacular. If you get the chance, have Danielle serve you, she's one of the best!

Yelp
The food and service was very good. There was a wait for a table which wasn't a problem as we're weren't in a hurry. There was seating at the bar for drinks and appetizers while we waited for a table. This place is always busy so plan accordingly. The food is worth a bit of a wait. Fresh seafood, cooked how you like it and good service. Will eat there again.

Yelp
Our first time visit. Food was great! Hubby had the chicken fried steak with jalapeño bacon Mac n cheese and a piece of cornbread. Jalapeños bacon Mac was tasty, creamy and perfectly cheesy. The chicken fried steak was crispy and not greasy at all. He thoroughly enjoyed his cornbread. He said it was almost like a dessert. I had the grilled shrimp tacos with chips and tacos. The salsa and the jalapeño cream sauce, both delish! Service was great! Hostess was very nice and seated us pretty quickly. Everyone was friendly. Our server, Gabe, was helpful and made suggestions, very attentive to our needs and made sure to refill our drinks. Ambiance was great! A casual restaurant with big leather booths and nice sized tables. They have a full service bar. Cocktails looked good. We didn't order any this day, but we will next time. Vibe is cool, and relaxing. Large TVs over the bar and hung around in areas to allow for watching the game. Restaurant was very clean! Great place for a lunch or dinner. Go there, I recommend!

Yelp
Service and food were excellent Ambiance! Had a lunch with a friend my first time here. I ordered half grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. All made in house very delicious. Would come again.

Yelp
Waitstaff was very engaging. The food was delicious! The manager even gave us free dessert for our first visit! We will be back...

Yelp
Really great restaurant at a reasonable price. Desserts feed four. Service food runners are top drawer.

Yelp
I took my Dad here twice in one week as he was visiting from out of town and he went crazy for the food, service and location. Thank you Bella and Darnell for making my veteran Dads visits so wonderful. This will for sure be one of our new regular spots for sure.

Yelp
Met my sister here for her birthday. There wasn't much of a wait, so that was good because it was HOT outside, and we weren't looking forward to waiting in this heat. After being sat, the server was very nice and recommended some of her favorites. I went with the Chicken Fried Steak, because, why not? It was served with 2 sides. I went with Mashed Potatoes and a side salad. The salad was fresh and the dressing was good. The chicken fried steak was hand breaded and tender. All and all, it was a pretty good meal.

Yelp
The service and food was amazing. Loved the ambiance of the whole place. Looked like a great place to also sit at the bar and have a few cocktails on a Friday after work with friends.
google avatar

Brooks B.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years, the food and service has always been outstanding. The only reason I give 4 and not 5 stars is because the magnolia location isnt open late enough. 8pm every night except for Friday and Saturday and they close at 9 on those days. For a place that has such nice bar area and amazing dinner options, they just close too damn early. Hell I don't even get off work most days until 6-7, by the time I would arrive they'd be closing. I would think for a place of this caliber that 9pm would be the earliest they would be closing, but I'm ranting now. If you can make there at a good time, you'll be impressed.

Yelp
Food tastes good to me. Seems a bit overpriced, but folks in the area don't seem bothered by it.

Yelp
Where have you been?!? It's literally 13 minutes from my house and I've never seen this place but found them on Yelp!!! A great restaurant and a good variety. Food and service were great. Pricing was just a great. Pssst, try the Pear-tini!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the special of a stuffed pork chop. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Best chicken fried chicken breast and cream gravy ever. Green beans with bacon, excellent. Great service.

Yelp
This evening we were celebrating my birthday. So we decided to drive all the way to The Woodlands Texas from Bryan. It was worth the drive to come to the Republic Grill. We order some wine and the meal was excellent. The Waitress Madelynn suggested the pork chops. They were delicious and for dessert we had apple.cobbler. The service from the strat was excellent. This a good place to come. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Just moved to the area and decided to try this spot for lunch. We enjoyed our visit thoroughly. Our server was absolutely gorgeous but I can't remember her name. She was bartending as well but gave amazing service. All food and cocktails came out in a timely manner. The menu is huge and I can't wait to come back and try other dishes. I had the wedge with shrimp and nearly scarfed it down it was so good. My husband had the chicken fried steak with jalapeño mac and mashed potatoes. His food was just as good! The manager, presumably, stopped by and asked how everything was and offered dessert when he learned it was our first visit. I'm so glad he did because I was eyeing that brownie when I looked at the menu online. I want to say the menu on their website really sold me and my friend on deciding on this restaurant. Also the fact that this is basically the only normal, not a hole-in-the-wall or Mexican, restaurant close to where I just moved. I can only imagine how busy this place gets for dinner! I will have to come back at a busier time and see if things are just as good as when they're slower.

Yelp
Great staff! They went out of their way to make a great experience for the diners. Incredibly attentive! Greek Salad and chicken piccata were fresh, well presented, and great tasting. Check out the specials and wine deals, they are worth your time. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Good food, drinks and service. Best military discount around, they love their veterans!

Chris B.

Yelp
Exceptional! We've been looking for a restaurant that could be "our place" since moving back to Texas in June. Finally found it. The pork chop was the best I've had in at least 10 years, every plate I saw coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic, and they've got the full menu range to fit just about any need. The service was just as good. Our server Donovan kept things moving quickly without rushing us, and I almost felt bad about how often he refilled our water (which never got past the halfway point). I always appreciate when other staff members check on us when walking past, and both managers on the floor went out of their way to welcome us. Worth noting that they never stopped moving the entire time we were there. Truly a well-run establishment that pays attention to the details. We'll be back!
google avatar

Andrea J.

Yelp
This place is one of my FAVS!!! The food is consistently good and reasonably priced. I've never had anything here that I didn't enjoy. The wait staff takes good care you as well. This restaurant has delicious food like a large chain, but a small time feel like a local mom and pop. They always make us feel like they know exactly who we are when we come in. Can't say enough about how we love this place!

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic!! Fish and chips are the best I've had in a while. Staff is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend.
google avatar

London T.

Yelp
Love this place and love the drinks. They always have fun and new drink mixes. The food was great too. I consider this more of a nice dinner place or a couples night out place but to my surprise there were lots of children. We will definitely go back for the food and drinks!
google avatar

Angela A.

Yelp
I've heard of this wonderful place so I had to finally try it for myself. Who better to take with me, is the man who never shares his dish but I steal a bite anyway! I started with the spinach and artichoke dip because who doesn't love the delicious combination of melted cheese and spinach. I enjoyed the bread versus the standard version of chips. It makes it seem to last longer and is much more filling. For my meal, I had the coconut shrimp which was served perfectly. It had the perfect blend of coconut flavor without it overpowering the taste of the shrimp itself. Overall, I loved this place and can't wait to come back for more!

Sheila R.

Yelp
Republic grille was one of the most pleasant surprises on my first visit and my second. I tried different food both times and both times they were excellent, the preparation was perfect, the service was wonderful, and my guest and I left happy. To me that's what it is all about. Their mussels are amazing.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
Wow! I'm speechless! The Republic Grille is, by far, the best restaurant I've been to in a long, long time! Ambiance, hospitality, food quality, freshness, camaraderie, value...all of it, beyond my expectations...and from the reviews I read before choosing this restaurant, my expectations were high! I started with the French Onion Soup...the best I've ever had! Next, I devoured my "The Republic" salad. I ordered it with two dressings on the side. Homemade jalapeño ranch and their strawberry vinaigrette. Both were delicious. The balance of sweet and savory was divine. My husband ordered the special of the day, Chicken Parmigiana, and the portion was huge! He loved it! We ended our dinner with the Brownie Sundae. Definitely a shareable dessert! Management is outstanding. We will definitely be back to try more of the delicious food here!
google avatar

Yelp
Service is always top notch! Never had a bad experience. Food is another level. Love going to The Republic Grille.

Yelp
The motto of this restaurant seems to be akin to that of the old football coach Vince Lombardi, who took pride in saying his team wasn't going to do anything you hadn't seen before, but they were going to out execute the competition. The food here is superficially just typical American fare. Sandwiches, burgers, steaks, salads, and pastas. When you peruse the menu you might think, oh this is Chili's. No, it's not. It's a much stronger restaurant that clearly understands and appreciates the difference a good team makes. The delivery is uniformly excellent, carried out by excellent staff. Our server was nearly perfect, with superior knowledge of the menu, in addition to being polite and accommodating. All our dishes were well prepared and tasty. The salad selection is very good here and two of our party went with them and were pleased. The chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken are both very good, if not perhaps quite as famous as the one from Goodson's, but although it's smaller it's a bit more daring with a little spice in the batter and perfectly cooked. There a healthy selection of sides to choose from and I found the cole slaw had a pleasant mustard flavor in it. If you decide on the tres leches cake for dessert, do not attempt it solo. Seriously, get a couple people to help you out. It's big and delicious. My only remark as a fan of tres leches is that the cake had some dry spots where the milk hadn't uniformly distributed (my comp here is the version from another Houston favorite, Ooh La La Sweets, and to the Republic Grill I would say there's no shame in finishing behind that one). But I'm happy with the purchase and would do it again. The rates are reasonable. A meal here will cost a little more than it would at other restaurants of general American cuisine but I find the atmosphere, quality, and service all above average. Both the locales we've visited are clean and I'd classify them as a sort of upscale western chic, you'd be equally comfortable here in jeans or a suit.

Yelp
beautiful food and beautiful service, everyone treated us very respectfully. I must have gone on a busy day or something but they were packed. something about good food and a few drinks really gets people together. great steak, prepared just how I like it and the crab cakes were delicious. highly recommend

Jeffrey T.

Yelp
The lasagne was a tad bit too salty, but my wife's chicken Piccata was delicious, and all the flavors were well balanced. The sides were wonderful, too! We ordered the strawberry shortcake for dessert, while the presentation made your mouth water, the cream on the cake had sort of a powdery texture to it. Service was great, everyone was friendly and welcoming Definitely recommend giving this place a try.
google avatar

Charisse S.

Yelp
Republic Grille has the best restaurant desserts HANDS DOWN! Their cobblers rotate almost daily and they are ALL good. I've had strawberry, peach, apple, and blackberry.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
I had no idea this his place was here. Actually heard about it on yelp. Took my daughter after church and it was wonderful. Great service. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was great too. Can't believe I am right here all the time and didn't know it existed. It is tucked away in the corner across from the Murphy gas station.

Yelp
De-Lic-ious. My husband and I met some friends (and their toddler) at The Republic Grille for dinner on a Thursday evening. It was around the holidays, so restaurants were busier than normal. We luckily didn't have to wait for a table if we wanted to sit on the patio, which we didn't mind since they had plenty of heaters. Our friends, who had visited before, recommend their "famous" chicken fried steak. Well, when people claim something is famous I usually am skeptical, but this chicken fried steak was tender, yet crisp and covered in gravy. We split the large portion and they halved it for us before they brought the food out, which we appreciated. We finished off the night with their bourbon pecan pie-I'm drooling just remembering it. Let's not forget their our server was fantastic. I wish I would have remembered his name, but he had great recommendations and was very polite. We'll be sure to stop by whenever in the area.

Madelyn W.

Yelp
My meal was so delightful!! My server (Danielle) was so cheery and sweet and just an overall pleasure to meet! She's the kind of person who deserves lots of good days. My meal was also the best I've had in a long time, huge fan of the 'chicken woodlands' and the sweet potato cakes (a side option) which tasted akin to a bananas foster with the delicious brown sugar. Highly recommend Danielle as a server and this location as a whole!! Simply wonderful! You could definitely order something normal here and have a good meal but they have plenty of unique options well worth trying! Attached is a photo of the Passion Cake which is a strawberry red velvet cake. Reminded me of a strawberry daiquiri.

Yelp
Fantastic food. Nice ambience. Chicken fried steak to die for. Wonderful wedge salad.

PJ M.

Yelp
Enjoyed our experience here. Great service. We tried the gumbo and was way to salty. Our waiter was very helpful with this. Switched it out no problem with chicken tortilla soup. Much much better. Good salad. Great service. Would come back if in the area.

MaKenna C.

Yelp
Took my grandma, and my hubby out to this delightful spot. Every time we come here it's always spot on, the crab cakes... they're to die for! The tomatoes are so limey, I don't know what they do. But it is AMAZING!! Last time I went I got the blackened flounder, my hubby got a turkey club, and grandma got the crab cakes again!! We will definitely be back:)

S C.

Yelp
They used to be really good. The last 2 times they have been mediocre, at best. Their food and service have suffered. We've been there enough times to know they are spiraling downward.

Yelp
What a great find! My husband and I had a late lunch there yesterday and it was amazing. The restaurant was clean and laid out with the comfort of the dinner in mind. Are server knew the menu and was very helpful. I swear, I think she could read r mind. On top of all this, the food was delicious! The best chicken fried chicken I ever had! We will b back.
