Hot Springs, Arkansas, Travel Guide

"Opened in the summer of 2021, The Reserve at Hot Springs is relatively new to the scene, but it quickly became one of T+L readers’ favorite resorts in the South, as voted in the World’s Best Awards. Formerly a mansion, the 12-room property features “beautiful décor, plenty of antiques, and one-of-a-kind landscaping,” according to Chef Joshua Garland of Dons Southern Social." - Travel + Leisure Editors

There are not enough words to describe what an incredible stay we had at The Reserve! The house is done up immaculately and especially beautiful for the holidays. We had fresh, hot coffee delivered to our room daily, and even had special touches and surprises left in our room daily, from a refilled ice bucket and water carafe to a surprise s’mores kit for use with the fire pit. Lisa and the entire front of the house took amazing care of us this week, and it was hard to leave to go explore town we enjoyed hanging out there so much! Location is great, less than 5 minute drive to the historic strip but far enough out of the main action that it’s still quiet. The gated parking lot is nice for additional safety. Overall, we would recommend The Reserve 5 times over, and we already look forward to returning for many anniversaries!

Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish! Immaculately beautiful grounds and a restored historical home with charm and elegance. The staff welcomed us upon arrival with cheer and a smile. Halloween dinner event was the night of arrival and the chefs’ three course meal was delicious and creative. We enjoyed hiking outdoors at the numerous parks around Hot Springs and the pre-arranged opportunities at Hot Springs Health and Fitness in town that the family host team had set up for us. The breakfasts are savory and well-presented as prepared by their two chefs. You can’t miss by staying at this property as Mark, Rhonda, Katelyn and their team are top-shelf and personable.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Perfect Stay at The Enclave Suite! We stayed in the Enclave Suite at The Reserve Hot Springs and it was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we walked in, the space felt luxurious, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed. The suite is immaculate—beautifully decorated, spacious, and truly feels like a private retreat. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, the linens were high-end, and every detail in the room was curated to make the stay feel special. We especially loved the soaking tub and the serene view—both made it feel like a true escape. The property itself is stunning, quiet, and relaxing. Service was warm and attentive without ever feeling intrusive. Every interaction felt genuine, and you can tell the staff takes real pride in making each guest’s stay memorable.

“Obsessed with this property” is an understatement! The Reserve is a charming, family-run boutique hotel, and it’s easy to see why it consistently earns five-star reviews. Everything about our stay was exceptional. As a loyal hotel-points collector, I usually never pass up the chance to use them — but this time, I gladly set them aside because I had to experience The Reserve. I’m so glad I did! We arrived late in the evening, first greeted by the elegant gated entrance and then by the stunning historic mansion, built in 1898. The Reserve has been lovingly restored to honor its past, with every design choice paying homage to the time period. From the chandeliers and wallpaper to the curtains, furnishings, and layout — every detail has been hand-selected with incredible care. Walking through the house feels like stepping back in time, but with all the comfort and ease of a modern luxury stay. We stayed in the Buckstaff Room, which we absolutely loved. Although I was simply tagging along on my husband’s business trip, our stay at The Reserve ended up being the highlight of my time in Hot Springs. Nathan, the owners’ son and a remarkably talented chef, made our mornings unforgettable. The first breakfast featured a Southern classic: chicken and cornmeal waffles, with sweet corn and just a hint of jalapeño folded into the batter. It was unlike any chicken and waffles I’ve ever had, and I’ll be thinking about it for a long time. The second morning brought eggs Benedict with perfectly crisp, golden lyonnaise potatoes. On top of that, Nathan welcomed us with his homemade cream cheese crinkle cookies. I’ve never been a fan of that type of cookie, yet these were so delicious we couldn’t resist taking a dozen home to share with family. During our downtime, we explored the mansion and grounds — breathtaking at every turn. We even joked about getting married again just to host it here! Mark, one of the owners, kindly gave us a personal tour of the Enclave Suite, a gorgeous separate unit often used by brides and grooms for weddings. Hearing the history of the property and their vision for the future was truly special. Mark, Rhonda, Nathan, and Kaitlyn are a gift to Hot Springs — not only preserving this landmark, but sharing it so generously with guests. Each morning began with a quiet luxury: complimentary fresh-squeezed orange juice and coffee delivered right to our room. It was the perfect way to start the day. To summarize: I took countless photos, but even they couldn’t capture the full magic of The Reserve. This is a property you simply have to experience for yourself. From the warm hospitality and exquisite food to the timeless charm of its historic setting, The Reserve will take your breath away the moment you arrive.

Came across this place online while looking for a spot for my wife and I to hang out for a long weekend. Thought it looked cool but really didn’t know what to expect. From the minute we arrived to the gated property, Mark helped us with our bags and gave us a tour of the 130 year old mansion. It’s hard to describe the charm and comfort we found inside. Not only is the home gorgeous, but every detail of service was absolutely perfect. Fresh cookies in our room when we arrived, a bottle of prosecco, coffee service to your room before breakfast, chefs breakfasts were delicious every morning, and the owners invited us to celebrate Thanksgiving with their family and made us feel right at home. By the time our 3 day retreat came to an end, we were already planning our next trip. We cannot wait to dive back into the dream vacation that we got a glimpse of. It’s no surprise why this B&B is nominated for multiple awards and hosts celebrities. What a perfect weekend. Thanks Mark and Rhonda, we will be back!

I recently stayed at The Reserve at Hot Springs for the first time, and it was an experience that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I pulled into the drive, the property radiated old Southern charm blended with modern luxury. The main mansion is beautifully restored, surrounded by lush gardens and manicured grounds, and the staff greeted me with a level of warmth and professionalism that immediately made me feel welcome. Everything about the place feels curated rather than commercial — like stepping into someone’s historic home that happens to be run with the precision of a high-end boutique hotel. My room was spotless, elegant, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was plush, the linens were top-notch, and the bathroom featured a deep soaking tub and a rainfall shower that felt spa-worthy. I appreciated the small touches — fresh flowers, local snacks, and a butler’s pantry stocked with coffee and light bites. It’s clear that every detail has been thought through to create a sense of calm and care. The only minor issue was a bit of light traffic noise in the distance, but it didn’t detract much from the peaceful atmosphere overall. The highlight of my stay was breakfast — a multi-course, chef-prepared meal that could easily hold its own in a fine dining restaurant. Every plate was presented beautifully and tasted incredible, and the staff struck the perfect balance between attentive and relaxed. Evenings on the property were equally enjoyable, with cozy fire pits, soft lighting around the gardens, and inviting common rooms that make you want to linger with a glass of wine or a book. The Reserve’s location is ideal — just minutes from downtown Hot Springs and Bathhouse Row, yet it feels private and serene. The staff go out of their way to make sure guests are comfortable, offering local recommendations and personal touches that make the experience feel genuinely special. If I could change anything, it would only be to add more on-site dining options, because the breakfast was so good it left me wanting more. Overall, The Reserve at Hot Springs is a stunning property with heart, history, and hospitality. It’s not often you find a place that feels both luxurious and personal, but this one manages it effortlessly.

Yelp
The reserve was absolutely incredible. Alex, Nate, Khloe, and Jesse were on top of everything, and we truly had so much fun getting to know them! I've never been treated so luxuriously before. The rooms and all the common areas were spotless and smelt so nice. The outdoor areas were comfortable and relaxing. It's also in a great location since it's close to the casino, mineral baths, and other fun and beautiful attractions in Hot Springs. We stayed for a long weekend for a wedding that was held in the property and everybody made everything so easy for all of us. Nate is deserving of a Michelin star for his cooking and baking. And those cookies were the best I've ever had in my life. If you know, you know. Thank you for everything! We cannot wait to come back! We will never forget you guys. Thank you!

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful, amazing and historic! Such a sight to see when walking in, nearly takes your breath away. Kind staff and surprisingly low rates, we expected them to be higher than they were. Super cool, even just to walk through the entrance lobby.

Yelp
You must stay here!! The place is impeccably restored. Even down to the caulking of the baseboards-yes I look at those things. The hand painted dining room mural, the extremely well appointed rooms, the 24/7 butlers pantry for drinks and snacks included in your room rate. The breakfast was a three course meal that was amazing. Not one thing negative or even neutral to say. The grounds were also gorgeous.

Yelp
This was one of the best stays my fiancé and I have ever had, anywhere. They greeted us by name on arrival and showed us to our room where several extra treats were left, along with a card addressed to me for my birthday. The room and house it's in were both beautiful - a perfect combination of classic architecture and style with nice modern amenities. Coffee was brought to our room first thing in the mornings, and the 3-course breakfast was incredible. The hosts are so kind and personable, and the whole experience of staying here felt very intimate and private. This was the best part of our trip to Hot Springs by a mile!

Yelp
We just wrapped up a weekend at the Reserve, and there wasn't a single thing that wasn't fantastic. The owners and the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. From the tour to start the weekend through the lovely gift after dinner Saturday night, every element of our stay showed thoughtfulness and attention to detail. We stayed in the Enclave, a converted pottery shed. The decor was beautifully rustic, including an amazing shower, huge soaking tub, fabulous fireplace and maybe the best bite bed I've ever experienced. Add on a well stocked fridge, great wifi, and meals brought to our room. We had no reason to leave all weekend. Speaking of food, theirs was as good as anyplace you will find. Every dish and every bite was spot on with taste, texture and presentation. I was amazed and the quality being produced by their kitchen (which was sparking clean and overseen by a sweet Anthony Bourdain painting). All this while having gluten free meals all weekend. Not that you could tell. We booked out next visit before we left. This was one of the best trips we've taken in years, and we travel more than a little. There are lots of choices for high end lodging around Hot Springs, but you will not find anything better than this.

Yelp
The Reserve is one of the most well thought out boutique hotels I have ever been to. Breakfast is a three course meal included in your stay in addition to complimentary coffee/tea delivered to your room every morning. The grounds are pristine and the house is even more stunning. It is the best place to stay in Hot Springs without a doubt.

Yelp
This is one of the best places we have ever stayed! I cannot say enough good things about The Reserve and the service and attention to detail provided by owners Rhonda and Mark McMurry. The hotel is gorgeous. Our room was lovely and cozy. The made-to-order, delivered to your room coffee service every morning is wonderful. Breakfast is literally gourmet. Fresh roses, homemade cookies, personal notes of welcome - everything is fabulous! Our visit to The Reserve was an anniversary trip. We honeymooned at Blackberry Farm and this was every bit as nice, but on a smaller scale.

Yelp
My husband and I visited Hot Springs for our "BabyMoon" getaway to relax. WOW this place was more than we expected! The had non alcoholic wine and a little baby decorated dessert made for me. It felt like an all inclusive hotel with the wine and food accessibility. We enjoyed our 5 star breakfast with amazing coffee and service from the hosts of the B&B. The rooms and details of the house were incredible. I would wake up and do a meditation and workout by the waterfall and garden area they have. Across the street is a brand new state of the art spa at the Oaklawn Casino that was just built. We enjoyed Sunday football out by the pool in a cabana before our massages. The amenities are great there. The location of the B&B is very central to all the attractions and things to do. I wouldn't have changed a thing! This is the perfect place to retreat!

Yelp
What a nice place to stay! What hospitality. The main house has been impeccably restored. The grounds are beautiful and they have a great fire pit! I am a vegan and they made me a fabulous vegan breakfast. Also had a vegan dessert for us the night we arrived. A must if you travel to Hot Springs!

Yelp
We stayed here a few weeks ago and it was absolutely amazing. Comfortable bed, delicious breakfast, hosts were more then accommodating and welcoming soon our arrival! And the bathtub and shower were to die for!
