A True Aspen Gem!! The Residence Hotel provided a perfect historical retreat during my stay. The hotel's eclectic décor had plenty of character and the rooms were perfectly clean. The hotel sits in downtown Aspen which offers immediate access to the shops and restaurants. My entire trip went by without needing to use a car! Text messaging allowed me to communicate effortlessly with the owners, Simon and Susan. They were incredibly helpful and kind. I’ll definitely be back!!

Aspen houses a remarkable hidden gem. The hotel lacks a grand lobby and room service but offers charm along with historical significance together with an excellent location and wonderful value. Walking to restaurants and shops along with the slopes made my stay perfect. A truly authentic yet affordable hotel experience in Aspen remains uncommon. Simon and Susan ensured a smooth operation and their exceptional hospitality stands out. A real treasure!

The Residence Hotel stands out as an exceptional place to stay in Aspen. You can enjoy downtown living at an affordable price by choosing this location. The master suite offered ample space along with stunning decoration and outstanding comfort. I loved how the owners were responsive and friendly since everything I needed was just outside my door. The hotel ownership by a family offers you a distinctly personal experience.

We stayed at the Penthouse Suite what a ridiculously amazing decorated place. Bed was very comfy, they had AC boxes in multiple rooms and most importantly the zebra chairs appeared to be made out of actual zebra hair. Location is amazing. My boyfriend described the place as like we were living in a Wes Anderson movie. Sad we only stayed here one night.

My stay at the French Studio was absolutely amazing! The room displayed a romantic and attractive design which complemented the small kitchen space for perfect breakfast. The bed was amazingly comfortable that I slept perfectly. A big hotel won’t offer you this kind of character and warmth for such an affordable price. Can’t recommend enough!

The hotel radiates soul through its cozy atmosphere and distinct character. This hotel provides an experience that outshines your common chain expectations. Every room displayed its own distinctive character through antique furnishings and detailed touches while remaining spotless and cozy. The bed felt luxurious and the entire ambiance created a comforting sense of home. Reaching out via text to the owners provided an easy and hospitable experience. All my friends will get my recommendation for this place.

Google
Hotel / rooms are very pretty, just didn’t feel the most clean (fabric walls in bathroom). Walls are thin. Service was mostly through text and was pretty responsive. Location is insanely good, right in the heart of Aspen. Right across the street from Paradise Bakery, and beside all the shops.

Loved this hotel! I felt at home. Bedding and Pillows were the best, slept like a baby! Very clean and cozy. Excellent location! Right in the heart of Aspen, so we didn't need to rent a car. Everything is in walking distance.

Yelp
Gorgeous little boutique hotel in Aspen! Walking distance to everything! Eclectic decor with glamorous little touches that make you feel luxurious. We loved our stay at the Residence Hotel.

Yelp
This boutique hotel is located right in the heart of Aspen. It's walking distance from every store and restaurant in town. The decor is extremely unique and the rooms are spacious! We really enjoyed our stay and chatting with the owner, Terry, and her assistant, Loraine. Can't forget about Charlie, the dog, who greeted us with a song. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
An exceptional experience in every way possible. Don't be mistaken by the fact that Yelp states that the hotel is closed, this boutique sanctuary is worth calling to see if there is availability. The Residence is truly special - a unique combination of comfort, luxury, culture and convenience. I was absolutely blown away by my suite - the views of Aspen village, the plush bedding, and the worldly ambiance made the stay quite memorable. But the most compelling part of my visit was the owner, Terry. She's an absolute gem, the type of owner who cares about each guest and is committed to making the most of every visitor's stay. I can't recommend The Residence enough. After a day of skiing, enjoy a glass of wine in the atrium under the skylight or in front of the fireplace in your room. When you're ready to venture out into town, you'll appreciate the convenience of this hotel's central location in the village. 5-Stars in every way! Book now and thank me later.

Yelp
Want a fantastic place to stay in Aspen ... this is it. Each room has it's own culture and beauty. Terry is a incredible host and makes you feel truly at home. The location is really perfect, 3 mins walk to the ski lifts and everything else you could want is just a few minutes walk away. Highly recommend the Residence Hotel as the best place I've every stayed in Aspen.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. The owner is completely unprofessional and rude. We called to confirm a reservation that apparently did not exist- despite our confirmation number. She was disrespectful and didn't try to work with us at all. The lack of communication afterward was unbelievable. She ignored our calls and never bothered to give us a call back irrespective of our messages. My only speculation is that she could not find it in her busy day managing an 8 bedroom hotel to speak with us. I'm glad we did not end up staying here because I could only imagine what kind of place she runs. Avoid at all costs.

Yelp
Absolutely disgusted with my experience here. Specifically the owner, Terry. She was the most disrespectful host I have encountered in my 20 years of traveling weekly. I called to confirm my reservation and Terry had an utter fit over the phone. When told our confirmation number she freaked out and explained there's no more rooms and she doesn't want me staying in her hotel. She screamed she had worked a 15 hour day and was tired, so she did not want to confirm our room. I couldn't believe the things coming from her mouth. Disgusting. AVOID THIS HOTEL IT SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS!

Yelp
This has been the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We booked this hotel for a relaxing, fun vacation in Aspen. I decided to call the Residence Hotel to double check on our reservation. When the owner, I believe her name is Terry, answered the phone, she said that our reservation did not exist (even though we had a confirmation). We had flights and plans booked for this vacation and suddenly had no place to stay. The owner explained that she does not book a room for only two nights- although that is not what it says when you book off her website. While on the phone with her, I was asked repeatedly if we were staying with boys and if we were partying- both completely out of line questions to ask a paying customer. After a 30 minutes conversation- the only deal I could make with the owner was to pay an extra 1000$ for a four night stay (even though we would only stay for two). I told my my travel agent (who booked the hotel) about the situation. My travel agent decided to call to confirm that I wouldn't have any more mix ups- like any travel agent would. I received a call from the owner the next day screaming on the phone. She called my travel agent a "nasty witch" and said that I should not have told anyone about our agreement. She did not let me get a single word in because she was yelling at me for the whole phone call then hung up after kicking us out of her hotel for simply confirming a room. I attempted to contact her- I called twice and left a voicemail but she did not respond. I have never seen this kind of customer abuse in my entire life. The owner is verbally abusive and an extremely rude woman- I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
Terry is a wonderful hostess. Loved the decor with each unique room. I recommend staying here. Owned by a local. Beds were soooo comfy and right in the middle of everything. Oh!...Don't forget to ask Charlie to sing you a welcome song...such a darling.

Yelp
The beautiful thing about this hotel is the fact that you are in the best area of town. A block away from the ski lifts and all the best shopping and restaurants are either around the corner of the hotel or a couple blocks away. On the actual hotel it's spotless and the it's one of the most unique hotels. The best way to describe it is stepping into another world, a beautiful one. Terry butler the owner you can't help but love. Her warmth and care for her customers is the reason she has had people come back for years. All in all you won't regret booking here. I will certainly come back to this establishment.

Yelp
What an amazing stay! Terry is a wonderful owner and makes you feel right at home. The furniture, decorations and interior design is so unique, there is so much detail and thought put into every square inch of this hotel. Our room was the smallest room in the hotel but it still had a double jacuzzi with jets and huge dual-sink bathroom. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to get out of bed I n the morning. The location couldn't be better, literally right in the middle of Aspen and Terry has the best recommendations for what to do in town. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Staying at The Residence Hotel was the most beautiful, curated, luxurious experience I could have imagined. There is an amazing level of consideration put into the decor of each and every corner of the suites and lobby area. The host, Terry, gave us the best recommendations for everything from hikes to restaurants. Having a true local helping us navigate our week in Aspen was the cherry on top of an amazing stay in this hotel. Don't miss it!

Yelp
This spot has soul, thanks to its owner of 25 years, Terry. The rooms are HUGE, like apartments, the hospitality is just fantastic and I'm coming back as soon as I can!

Yelp
Very pleasantly surprised with this small, immaculate, uber friendly hotel in the heart of downtown Aspen! Each room and/or suite is decorated differently with lots of terrific antiques, cozy furnishings and lots of color. Dog friendly. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone that wants a real flavor of true, old Aspen.

Yelp
10 stars across the board. My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and it was everything I hoped and dreamed. Terry greeted us after we drove 14 hrs through the snow to Aspen. Her pup, Charlie, in her arms. You could feel the unique and rare atmosphere instantly. She showed us how to use all the amenities in the room, which had everything you could possibly need. I told her how much I appreciated the vintage touches so she let me tour the rest of the suites. I got goosebumps seeing the rest of her special place, and could see myself wanting to live in this magnificent hidden treasure forever. Pictures can't do this hotel justice. I felt like a Queen In the room we stayed in, which had silk Italian wallpaper, plush sheets, 1800s lighting, beautiful wooden furniture, and mirrors from the floor to the high ceilings. There were curtains draped over the bed canopy style with a golden Angel figurine that watched over us as we slept. The rooms are designed so romantically that your heart stops when you enter your private suite! Seriously! The location is the by far the best in town- there were many bars, restaurants, boutiques, and much more in walking distance. FREE parking was a plus. If you feel like skiing you can walk a block over to the ski resort. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples or even individuals traveling alone- an experience and a memory that is unforgettable.

Yelp
One of the most charming hotels in the world with one of the greatest host in the world. Every room is unique and there is no better location anywhere in Aspen. An amazing experience I will always remember.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel. Comfortable with an artistic decor. I enjoyed the interesting items from around the world that have been harmoniously arranged. Like going on a journey. Had fun talking with Terry. Did start planning a trek through the Himalayas though after hearing her stories ;-)  Friendly staff, location is superb for mountain & shopping access!

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and were delighted! Terry and her staff were warm and helpful from our first contact throughout the trip. The hotel is a true hidden gem. The French Studio was a perfect slice of Paris, where we were married. The lobby is plush, bright, inviting, "richly appointed" as they say. Terry herself was a great resource, open and honest about Aspen restaurants and attractions and was truly interested in our feedback as well. Our studio was charming, surprisingly large, and reminiscent of so many touches of Paris. I've been summering in Aspen and skiing there for almost 40 years and couldn't believe how fresh and rich her accommodations made Aspen feel to us. We will absolutely make every effort to stay with her every time we visit going forward!

Yelp
This is the most stunning and unique hotel in aspen! Every room is so different and filled with beautiful pieces Terry had collected from all over the world, high ceilings, Ralph Lauren bedding, it's the perfect get away and in the center of aspen. I think if someone would of described this place to me before I wouldn't have believed them. We've been coming to aspen for years, paying double to stay in places that don't even compare. Terry really made us feel right at home from the moment we stepped in. I've stayed in 3 of the rooms, each one so different and unique. How she pulled this incredible decor and quality off is astounding . Like a mini museum, it's like stepping into a fairy tale.

Yelp
We just stayed at the Residence Hotel for the Aspen Food & Wine Classic in the Raj Suite. The entire staff was very attentive to our every need, the suite was very eclectic and comfortable. Probably my favorite suite in the hotel. The location can't be beat as you are in the middle of all the shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Two of our Australian Labradoodle puppies came with us and they were comfortable and just love sitting in the window check out the scenery and people watching. Thank you Terry, Terry & the entire staff! We are looking forward to our return visit next year!

Yelp
Look no further if you want the ultimate stay in Aspen. This little gem is so spectacular. The location is in the heart of downtown aspen but that is only the beginning. This place has so much heart and soul. The rooms are all elegant, sophisticated, playful, practical and just plan perfect. My husband and I travel the world staying at the finest places and this is truly one of the most memorable. This is our new home in Aspen.

Yelp
What I love about the hotel is that each room is unique and stunning in its own way. I would highly recommend it to anyone with families or even larger groups. The thing I loved the most is that is situated just two blocks away from the main ski lift in town so your right in the heart of all the action. I can't wait to come back again and the host was so accommodating and really made my stay there an incredible one.

Yelp
This place is an unbelievable hidden gem right in the center of downtown Aspen. To say that it has soul is an understatement. I can't say enough positive things about my stay here! Easy booking and check in process, nice HUGE and clean rooms, all amenities you could ask for (kitchen, pet friendly, free wifi, attentive maid service and staff), and the best part is the location, you really can not beat it! Beautiful antique decor and furnishings throughout the charming boutique hotel. I look forward to my next stay at the Residence Hotel!
