The Residence hotel

We are staying here right now on our first trip to Africa, traveling from the USA. I wanted a boutique hotel experience rather than a large name brand commercial hotel. We have been blown away from the moment we arrived. The hotel exceeded my expectations. I m traveling with a family of 6, the youngest is 10. After arriving and seeing the rooms, the family all agreed that this is the most charming property we have ever stayed at. And we have stayed at some nice places. They have drivers available to take you on tours or to drop you and pick you up from different areas. The dinner last night was a great experience. The resident piano player adds a nice touch. My kids have eaten more of their share of candy in the reception area. 10/10 recommend.

This hotel was so great that we came back again on the same trip! Lovely staff, great breakfast and luxurious rooms. We felt really looked after and will definitely be back and recommend it to everyone!

The hotel has it all. The atmosphere is unbelievable, and all spaces either at your room or open areas are filled with tranquility and sophisticated timeless luxury. It's a large property filled with many interesting and inviting spaces. The place is authentic, each room we stayed in was different and not just a generic feel like the typical "generic" hotels out there. The service and hospitality is on a next level, it really feels like you are their number 1 priority and they'll do anything to show it. The food at the restaurant is delicious and the presentation top notch. This is one of my favourite hotels and I'll recommend it to anyone!

My husband and I stayed here for part 1 of our honeymoon 2nd part Cape Town . We absolutely had the most wonderful time at this hotel. The staff were out of this world helpful and kind. This hotel had it all- such a beautiful place and the food was great. This is for sure a hidden gem- you owed like you are staying in someone’s luxurious home. We had such a great experience here! Highly recommend.

The Residence is a fantastic accommodation venue that provided every luxury to our short Johannesburg visit. The staff are so friendly and willing to help. Facilities are great and the highlight is the restaurant where the food was exemplary. It is in a very secure location with large outdoor garden and deck including a fire pit for the cool evenings.

We headed here after a disappointing night at the Westcliff. What a difference! The atmosphere was so relaxed, the staff were charming, and the food was great. There were so many beautiful places to sit and relax, and the gym was great as well. A great place to overnight in Johannesburg.

My husband & I stayed here for 2 nights before flying back to Vancouver. We loved everything about this beautiful 5 star boutique hotel ! The food, pools, spacious bedrooms , design, and friendly staff. The attention to detail is excellent.
