The Residence Maldives at Falhumaafushi

What a beautiful place. The natural beauty of the island, the kind and helpful staff, amazing food, fabulous facilities and the dolphin sunset cruise!!!! I loved this holiday. We had room 121, a water villa on the sunrise side. The room was huge, divided into thirds, a lovely living area with the comfiest sofa, the bedroom with a huge comfy bed and the bathroom with a bath that over looked the sea and 2 showers (one indoor one outdoor!) air con was only in the bedroom, but that worked fine as long as you kept the interconnected doors closed. The pool was great. We bought a couple of floats with us. They give you a couple of bicycles for you to travel around. I loved this touch and often went off exploring Dhingurah via the long connecting bridge. The sunset bar was really the most fabulous place to grab a cocktail and watch the sunset before dinner. I don’t think I’d ever seen sunsets quite like them…The Dining Room offered buffet breakfast and then A la carte dinner (we were half board) the food was always great! There are other restaurants you could try there too though.

Great stay in the most beautiful place. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed snorkelling in the reef. You can spot sharks and turtles. The yoga instructor was very good and the yoga practice unforgettable. The spa services were very good. The food delicious and you can choose between multiple restaurants every day.

We stayed on the quieter island which we loved but also enjoyed cycling over the bridge to visit the other island and enjoy the restaurants and facilities there. We stayed in a water villa with pool 302 and it was wonderful - we watched. Beautiful sunsets from the privacy of our pool and even saw dolphins from our terrace. A 5 minute swim from our villa took us to the reef which was beautiful and we saw many fish, sharks and turtles. We saw eagle rays from our terrace. The staff really make the resort and are really warm and friendly - our housekeeper J was great and on our last day set up a beautiful romantic bath for us. Sami in the beach bar was great too but to be honest all the staff were. The food was of an excellent standard with plenty of choice - we preferred the a la carte at our dining room to the buffet on the other island. We would love to return

This was such a wonderful experience. The service was exceptional. The beautiful staff were incredible. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary (7 nights) and we felt spoilt the entire time. ||We had an over water villa with a sunset view and this was something very special. The room was clean and spacious. I loved the novelty of the outdoor and indoor shower (you can look at the stars in the evening). ||The location is beautiful. The water is so clear and lots of fish to marvel at. It was a very peaceful location (only a few flights a day, so you can enjoy the quiet, rather than a busy resort.) Lots to do or you can just chill out in the pool with the swim up bar. There is lots to explore as the 2 islands are connected by a 1km bridge. There are more activities on the other island (Dhigura) which is a beautiful set up for families.||We enjoyed a massage at the spa! Oh my goodness - overwater day spa! Something very special!! It was lovely:)||The restaurants on both islands were delicious. Definitely recommend the specialty restaurants!! We also had a private dinner on our deck which was incredible. ||I highly recommend any of the reef fish and tuna as it is so fresh!! Delicious!!||I had dietary requirements (coeliac) and nothing was ever too much trouble. I can not believe how well I was catered for and how well I was cared for. Dietary requirements are taken very seriously. The staff new straight away if I could eat something or if another menu item would be more suitable.||Pack lots of "reef safe" sunscreen as you will need it. The heat and UV rays near the equator is definitely something to get used to. ||Our favourite spot for lunch was the beachside restaurant!! However, I felt so bad for the staff as they were running around in the heat taking such good care of the guests, however with no shaded areas for them. It would be so good to see a more suitable area for the staff. Amazing service and food despite their work conditions. (Perhaps a large thatch roofed area to compliment the pool area with a sand floor?? It would look amazing, give the staff some shade and be more usable in wet season rather than the umbrellas:) ) ||I would honestly recommend visiting. We had a tremendous time and this was made very special by the wonderful staff. We didn't want to leave!!||Also, all of our transfers were handled so well!! The resort made sure everything went smoothly so we didn't have to worry about a thing!! Just fantastic service every step of the way.||Thank you so much:)

We stayed here for our honeymoon in Jan 2025. ||The staff are amazing - always smiling, always very friendly and helpful. The room (water bungalow with pool) was incredible. The housekeeping staff including Francis were excellent. The food in the dining room was great and the staff there - Ishan, Shani, Nahil, Hazrat, Suhana were all lovely. I had a massage in the spa with Sanjay who was amazing. The snorkelling along the reef is absolutely beautiful and we had free use of snorkels, fins and life jackets. Fawaaz who met us in Male was excellent and very helpful.|There was free paddle boarding or kayaking during a set time each day. We also had the option of lots of paid activities. There was a free gym. We did sunrise yoga everyday which was free and we really enjoyed. ||The downside: |We had a disaster getting there which isn't the Residence's fault - but we had a big delay at Male airport, then a lovely staff member from t he Residence (Fawaaz) helped us and met us there - he brought us for a free lunch. Then the domestic flight to the island was delayed an hour, it then made a stop off on another island. So in total from leaving our room in Sri Lanka to arriving in our room in the Residence it took 12 hours. ||The meat at times wasn't amazing - you could tell it wasn't fresh - but I understand that it has to get imported to the island so it's not fresh that day. |We weren't aware of all the restaurants and things on offer on the island - we felt that the lobby or information back we were given at check in could have been clearer and a little more thorough. Also when we arrived we were told most of the restaurants were booked up for our stay - but no-one had contacted us before our trip to say we should pre book which was frustrating. ||Overall it was an excellent stay and we would highly recommend it.

The Residence blew us away! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The staff cannot do enough for you. We were lucky to stay in a sunset water villa and house keeping were in 3 times a day making sure everything was spotless and bringing us snacks! ||We don't usually do all inclusive holidays so I was a little worried about the standard of the food - but it was all delicious. From the fresh fruit and freshly made omelettes in the morning to the constantly changing menus and themed dishes in the evening, it didn't even feel like we were at a buffet. The restaurants were also such a high standard. ||The other thing we weren't sure about before we booked was the size of the island and whether we would get bored. For us, the island was a perfect size. We had bikes outside our villa when we arrived and we loved cycling down to breakfast, or over to the neighboring island (not forgetting a beer stop at the castaway bar on the way!). We weren't ready to come home, and are already debating going back for this Christmas (which is big for us - we don't make a habit of booking the same place twice!)||The reef was also breathtaking - we saw sharks, ray and turtles almost daily. We also loved the resident fruit bats. ||I need to give a big shout out to Haftz, Sajith, Nafu and Rayaan in the main restaurant too. They made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. ||If you're debating booking The Residence and you love a high standard of food, lots of marine life and being treated like a VIP - do it!

This was the best resort I have ever visited so far in my life. The trip was part of my 50th birthday celebration. I stayed there with my wife and 7 years old son. Our stay was amazing and this resort is excellent because of its staff, location, hospitality and delicious food. Joynall who was our villa attendant was extremely kind and attentive. The bath he prepared for my wife was breathtaking. The Cheff Ashish Domee was extremely accommodating and kind. Servers, front desk, doctor and others made our stay a heaven on Earth. Thumbs up to Jaavid, Shina, Aus, Hazrat, Maaish, Yna, Tuhim, Samar and Shavin. My wife used to call me Spartan when we dated and we got villa #300 that was an amazing coincedence🤣

This was everything we had hoped for and more. The pictures reflect the reality. |7 places to eat, 3 bars - wonderful staff. The resort is connected to another island run by residences for families - whilst we stayed on the couples side in a sunrise villa. You will see sharks, rays, turtles swim past your place regularly . Bikes are provided to get around, as are wet suits should you wish to do watersports. The spa was fantastic, the Italian and French Restaurant (on the reef) excellent - the other places to eat offered a wide range of cuisines with plenty of healthy options and vegan ones. You will relax and get into a routine of chill here. Special shout out to front Ishan, April, Aus and Shina - all looked after us so kindly. And if you've at the pool bar you'll get great service from Ramesh, Samitha and Kamrul
