We had a lovely stay during the shoulder season at the Resort at Cypress Hills. We stayed in a hotel room, and enjoyed the facilities including a fire pit area. The room was clean and comfortable, with no noise noted from our neighbours in adjoining rooms. the room had a microwave and mini-fridge, which was very helpful to us, given that the restaurant hours are limited. We enjoyed several meals in our room. We found one of the front desk staff to be welcoming, personable, and helpful. We enjoyed the trails in the area, and a walk around Loch Levan, very much. There are more area facilities available before the Labour Day long weekend, but the peace and quiet was also enjoyable.

Went to a wedding last weekend. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Well priced for a kitchenette. The beds are soft and the pillows were very supportive. There was never a shortage of hot water for the shower, though the shower head was very low flow. The offered bath products are a great quality. They have basic cable and free internet for when we were not exploring the grounds. The lake was gorgeous and though cool to swim in it was well maintained (both the beach and the water). The o key downside is no dogs on the beach. The pool was empty and shut down for the season but it looked like it would have been amazing. We saw all sorts of wild life including deer, moose (a Mama and a baby!), foxes, and hawks. On the actual resort grounds are various wood carved benches which was cool to see all the unique carvings and skills. The amenities for the wedding party were wonderful and the food was fantastic. We may come back for a little get-a-way next year as it was the perfect setting to relax and unwind. Would definitely travel the 6 hours again for another wedding.

My adult daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of April 2025 to do some site seeing and hiking in the area. It was our first time visiting the park and the lodge. We booked a double queen bed room within the main lodge and found it to be very clean and comfortable. The view from our room looked into the forest and was very quiet. ||The resort restaurant is located within the same building. We made our own lunches to eat during our hikes but ate supper at the lodge restaurant each evening. The meals were always very good. ||The resort is situated in a beautiful location surrounded by pine forest. A few of the parks hiking paths begin adjacent to the property which was vert convenient.||Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend staying at the resort.

Nice setting about 20 minutes drive south of maple creek. The male Check in receptionist was not at all welcoming, going through the motions on his computer. Refused to make a dinner reservation… said go round and do it yourself. They don’t accept Amex btw. ||Room smelt of cigarette smoke. Out of date. No safe for valuables . Pillows not great . Room was clean . Small bathroom with old shower over the bath and horrible plastic shower curtain. Bathroom definitely needs an upgrade. ||Food was meh. Vegetable spring rolls ok not great. Thai stir fry never seen a hint of anything Thai… was an over sweet variant of a Chinese sweet and sour. Bar meals marginally better though chicken wings dry. Restaurant and bar staff pleasant enough. Sitting out area plagued by flies.||Check out lady much warmer but still has charged for rooms which had already been prepaid, as was confirmed by her less amenable male colleague at check in , so going to have sort this out. ||Overall, a just Ok experience for a couple of nights if you’re out and about most of the time. Nothing exceptional about it . Rooms and especially bathroom need upgrades. ||I think they cater a lot for large family gatherings? First night big group in room off main dining area. Became an issue when microphone went on for their speeches etc as loudly spilt over into main restaurant area. ||I think weekdays they don’t do breakfast, opening about 11 am.

What a great place to reunite with my elderly father and sisters. Half way between the lot of us. Free firewood with no fireban (that was just karma this year). Clean cabin that slept all 5 of us comfortably. Off season so it was beautifully quiet. My only small critique is I picked up garbage and a couple empty beer cans around the property because nature should be pristine. We will be back definitely!

The resort is beautiful. The inn is another story. There is no option for breakfast, restaurant doesn’t open until 11am. So bring your own food. Our room appeared to be nice until we noticed the ceiling was one large water stain from what I guess a flood from the room above. We suspected mold due to physical reactions. We brought this up with the front desk and they told us that the owner or general manager would contract us. So far we have heard nothing.

After going to this "resort" for decades - I have to finally voice my concerns. It is the only hotel in cypress hills and they act like it. No room cleaning. None. Not even towels. Staff told me that "people complained about too much cleaning"??? so they stopped. I've never heard of someone being disappointed their hotel was too clean. Forget about the wifi - you won't be able to use it. It is so bad. Restaurant takes FOREVER - kids are STARVING. Rooms are SO dated. My kids described the TV as "cute." The only benefit of this "resort" is the location. It is in Cypress Hills. Beyond that, expect to pay a small fortune and receive nothing for it. Good luck to you.

I thought about giving just a one star but I decided to go with 2 stars because the front desk staff, especially Olivia, were fantastic. However, after paying $18 per night per dog I still got a $50 cleaning fee. Considering they provide really nothing in the townhouses and you pay top dollar for the townhouses plus extra for pets I'm not sure a $50 fee is necessary. Pets have hair. It's going to happen. I swept plus used a portable small ryobi vacuum before I left. After looking at my photos I'm pretty sure it was cleaner when I left than when I got it. Oh well. You live and you learn. It's a gorgeous place and I'm sure we will return for day trips to Cypress but I doubt we will stay at the resort again. It needs some upgrades, the walls are very thin and you hear lots of stomping and door slamming and then no matter how much you clean you get a bill. We went there for peace and quiet because we had to lay my mother-in-law to rest. So if you have pets be prepared to pay extra and be prepared for it to be noisy especially in the busy season.
