The Reverie Saigon

"Built like an Italian palazzo, the brand new Reverie Saigon brings in a level of luxury previously unseen in Ho Chi Minh City. Everything about the hotel is over-the-top opulent, from the palatial, marble-clad lobby to the lavish rooms, individually appointed by top Italian decorators and decked out in Carrara marble and plush Italian silks. There are three upscale restaurants—French, Cantonese, and Italian (of course)—plus a 157-foot bar that’s so long, it stretches from Dong Khoi Street all the way to Nguyen Hue Boulevard two blocks over. Not to be outshone, Reverie’s spa is a two-level, 13,000-square-foot affair with two open-air Jacuzzis and an Olympic-size swimming pool, naturally. Impressive, indeed—if not borderline intimidating. Editor's Pick: Hot List 2016"

"Occupying most of a 38-floor Times Square building, the Reverie Saigon initially made waves for its over-the-top flourishes: the house cars are a limited-edition Rolls-Royce Phantom Dragon and a Maybach, both parked out front; the lobby features a $500,000 jade-and-gold Baldi clock; and the property feels like it used all the marble and Murano glass in Italy. What’s surprising, then, is how well it all works—and how quickly you might feel at ease. A large part of that is thanks to the warm, attentive service (sniffle once, for example, and ginger tea will appear at your doorstep) and the 286 airy guest rooms themselves, which—though full of whimsical touches by international design houses like Visionnaire and Provasi—manage to call to mind serene sanctuaries floating high above the city bustle. The on-site dining options (including places for traditional Cantonese, fine-dining French, and modern Italian) draw local crowds, and the two-story spa features an ozone-infused outdoor pool equipped with underwater speakers—plus some of the best therapists in town."

What a fantastic hotel and the staff were superb. ||The hotel location is excellent, right in the heart of District one. The decor and view with in the hotel create a wow factor when we first arrived. The staff are so welcoming from the moment we arrived and were constantly looking to make every minute of our stay a memorable one.||The only downside is that we didn’t stay longer. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Ho Chi Minh City. And would love to return in the future.||Special shout out to the Assistant Manager Ngen (hope I have spelt that right). Her passion for her job and attention to detail with all the guests at breakfast was top class. ||Definitely a 5 star experience

We stayed for (sadly only...) two nights at this hotel.. after a couple of nights a 3br beach villa at the Four seasons, it would be a tough act to follow for any place, but I have to say they made a glorious job from beginning to end. Anyway, we had two junior suites booked, which gave us access to the delicious lounge, the staff there is beyond amazing, some of the kindest people I have met in the hospitality industry. The pool is a feast, the breakfast is glorious. The rooms are well, super tacky but in a delicious way. Fans of mid century scandi-modernism... close your eyes ;). Our rooms were in a floor where there was a damp odor, but to be frank they offered to change the rooms, so I can't blame them for that. The breakfast is really great too. I don't really understand why this place doesn't charge way more, be happy while it lasts.

We booked The Reverie for the last part of our Vietnam trip. We had already had a wonderful trip in the county in another 2 hotels which were lovely and The Reverie did not disappoint. We used the hotel car service for airport transfers and it was also worth it. A lovely welcome to the hotel. We had a Panorama room which gave us lots of room, a super king bed and the most amazing views of HCMC. The AC was perfect, the bathroom also offered amazing views and the general facilities in the room were really good. We also appreciated the ‘extras’ like a complimentary minibar and turn down service.|The hotel is in a fantastic location - the street is pedestrianised at weekends which is great fun. It’s also very near the ‘big’ sights you’d want to see - the People’s Committee, the Opera House, Post Office and Notre Dame, plus museums. We really loved the location. We were on the 34th floor facing Nguyen Hue which meant we did hear loud music in the evening (even up high) but it was off by 11pm. |The breakfast service and quality were very good. We used the Long bar also for evening drinks - a great spot to sit and people watch in the cooler evening. The staff were lovely - particularly Yen. |It’s not a cheap hotel by Vietnam standards but we were so glad we booked it. The trip ended on a high (and we’d already had the best time in Vietnam).

Dates of Stay: August 29-September 1|Reservation: Panorama Suite (w/Business Lounge access and free minibar)|Loyalty Program: OneKey|Loyalty Program Status: Gold|Loyalty Program Benefits: 1 bottle of wine, 20% off food and beverage|Automatic Room Upgrade: Not Applicable (reserved best standard room)||Breakfast:|Variety: 8/10|Service: 9/10|Quality: 8/10||Facilities (lobby, business lounge, restaurants pool area, room):|Materials: 9/10|Condition: 9/10|Service: 9/10||Notes:||1. My wife and I were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary, and the hotel provided us with a chilled bottle of wine, desserts and special flower arrangements in our room upon arrival. This was greatly appreciated.||2. The hotel is not identified on the outside of the building in the same manner as most other hotels, luxury or otherwise, and, further, the hotel has a private entry way for vehicles in order to support the privacy and security of those staying at the property. This is fairly unique and brings an added sense of comfort versus competitors.||3. Upon arrival, the hotel indicated that there was a promotion to move from the Panorama Suite to either of the two Designer Suite at an additional cost of $1600/night. I toured and was impressed by the Designer Suites, however, I ultimately declined.

A wonderful hotel — we really enjoyed our 3 nights at the Reverie Saigon. The breakfast was excellent, and the food and service in the restaurants were top-notch. I warmly recommend The Reverie Saigon! The pool area was also very pleasant, and the hotel is in a truly excellent location. A special thank you to the room service staff member — unfortunately I don’t remember his name, but the service was exceptionally professional and friendly. Also, the panoramic views from our room were absolutely stunning.

I had left a backpack at the airport when arriving in Ho Chi Minh City. When I informed the hotel, they immediately activated their staff to check with the airport and D Phuong went all the way to the airport to look for my bag and brought it back to me after retrieving it from Lost & Found. I must compliment Phuong and the rest of the team at Reverie Saigon for their excellent service. This is the 4th time I have stayed at the Reverie. I always stay here when in Ho Chi Minh City. It is a fantastic hotel, not just in terms of the physical qualities, but the staff are excellent. They remember my preferences, and are led by the incomparable Tony Tuan Nguyen. Will recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.

The Reverie Saigon is elegance at its finest. I stayed in the Grand King Suite, which was pure luxury with stunning views overlooking Ho Chi Minh City’s vibrant hub. Stepping outside the hotel, you’re right in the heart of Nguyen Hue Street. An incredibly practical and exciting location for any vacation. The included buffet breakfast was top-tier, with excellent variety and quality. The gym was well-equipped, and the pool area had an impressive layout with panoramic city views. Staff throughout the hotel were attentive, friendly, and truly made the experience feel special. One standout moment was when I encountered a situation in town. The floor manager at the time, Phuong, went above and beyond to assist me, reassuring me and ensuring everything was taken care of. That level of care leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Ho Chi Minh City!
