Innkeepers Paul & Mirlin are the undisputed king & queen of hospitality! We recently stayed at the home for the Christmas holiday and we loved every minute. Paul is an incredible host and chef. His breakfast was so delicious, unique, and beyond what we'd had at any other B&B. The room was so cozy, clean, and comfortable. Paul had so many awesome ideas for dining, drinking, and fun things to do. He's a great conversationalist and we left knowing we'd want to come back again. We highly recommend!!

My husband and I traveled to Asheville for our honeymoon. We decided to go with booking the Reynolds Mansion because of the 4 course breakfast. Needless to say…we loved every minute of our stay! Paul was very attentive and knowledgeable about the area and gave great suggestions about places to visit and eat. Even though we were the only guests in the house, he was just as attentive and served a delicious breakfast every morning! The room we stayed in was very clean and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed talking to Paul everyday, and when we visit Asheville again, we will definitely come back to the Reynolds Mansion. -The Wingates

This is our 3rd visit to Reynold's Mansion. We had a wonderful time celebrating our 40th Anniversary. The service and hospitality was impeccable. The food was exceptional and beautifully displayed. Thanks Paul for a great experience...PS we spent our Honeymoon 40 yrs ago here, what great memories.

Excellent place to stay, I would go back to Asheville just to stay here! Paul was a very gracious host with such attention to every detail. The four course breakfast every morning was wonderful, as were the conversations with Paul. My husband and I were there four nights of an eight night vacation, and stayed in the Carriage House Blue Hydrangea room. It was comfortable, quiet and we loved having a working fireplace in our room as well as a sofa. Paul was such a help with local restaurant and sight seeing recommendations, as well as directions and tips. This was our first trip to Asheville and the beautiful Reynolds Mansion exceeded our expectations!

The room is spacious, very clean, cozy and comfortable. My husband and I enjoyed each night sitting in front of the fireplace sipping a glass of port after a whole day of sightseeing.The bed sheets smelt nice and clean which is very important to me to have a good night sleep. ||The highlight of our stay is the delicious four-course breakfast that Paul prepares daily meticulously and artfully! He is a very gracious host. I would definitely recommend The Reynolds Mansion Bed and Breakfast to friends.

My wife and I had an outstanding visit to the Reynolds mansion a few weeks ago. The owner Paul treated us like his family giving us tips to where to eat and go in Asheville, and offered a discount to the Biltmore. We were served four course gourmet breakfasts that were delicious and memorable. The history of the home is intriguing with its connection with the Hope diamond. Very romantic setting with very nice gas fireplaces!

I cannot recommend this bed and breakfast highly enough! What a magical and truly memorable stay. Paul and Mirlin’s hospitality is absolutely unmatched, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The home itself is breathtakingly beautiful, with every detail thoughtfully curated. We were incredibly comfortable throughout our visit, and the breakfast was nothing short of exceptional. I will definitely be returning for another stay.

Wonderful place to stay! Gorgeous home and gracious host that greeted us at the door. We stayed in the Carriage House, but had access to the house at all times. Excellent 4 course breakfast, soft jazz background music, working fireplaces, very clean, quiet and beautiful.

Paul and Mirlin were absolutely amazing hosts! From the impeccable grounds and gardens, to the detail and beauty of the house inside, to the delicious 4 course breakfast served daily, you CANNOT go wrong with this place. It's in a great and quiet location as well away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but still within easy driving distance of downtown, breweries, hiking tours, etc. We stayed 4 nights and had an amazing time. 10/10 if you're looking for a charming and relaxing stay in Asheville.

If I could give 1000/5 stars, I would. There are many factors that make The Reynolds Mansion a special place: the history, the beautiful building and grounds, proximity to downtown, mountain sunset views, the thought and care in every detail of the service and the house, and the spectacular breakfasts. But what truly makes The Reynolds Mansion exceptional and worth the visit are the owners, Paul and Mirlin, who embody the meaning of hospitality. Our stay overlapped with Hurricane Helene and its immediate aftermath. Under the most challenging and stressful of circumstances, Paul and Mirlin took amazing care of us, and were the loveliest company imaginable when our stay lasted longer than anticipated due to the storm and its effects. Their thoughtfulness and generosity has ensured I will be a lifelong customer of The Reynolds Mansion when in Asheville.

What a place! Historic mansion, clean, elegant, fantastic ambiance. Good management. Oustanding 4 course breakfasts, for all dietary restrictions. Ask for Paul-- friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Decorated for Christmas season, including festive music. Just a short distance to town and attractions, like the Biltmore. 10/10 would stay again!!!!

if it were possible to give a rating of 100+, I would positively do it. This was our second time visiting and I plan to go again and again. I planned a surprise birthday trip for my husband and what a surprise! His sister and brother-in-law, brother and dear friend also booked rooms. We stayed for five days in paradise. The accommodations and grounds were lovely, it was a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful gardens, chirping birds, wild turkeys, deers, but we didn't see a bear. More importantly, Paul was the most gracious an accommodating host. We have stayed at numerous B&B's and this was the best of the best. We were treated royally and dined graciously. The four course breakfasts were culinary delights - each day different. Not only was the food delicious, the presentation was five star! Additionally, Paul was a wealth of information. His recommendations for dining, sightseeing, shopping, and points of interest in Asheville were as good as having a personal travel guide. Paul joined our family in celebrating an important birthday. Many thanks to Paul and Milin for a most memorable occasion!

This was my first experience for a bed and breakfast and it did NOT disappoint. We were greeted on the front steps by Paul with lemon water. After our initial greet and meet, Paul gave us a map of Asheville with several recommendations of what he thought we may like individually. He also made a great recommendation of following his directions into downtown than hopping on I-26. Mirlin (Hope I'm spelling correctly) showed us to our room and made sure we had everything we needed. I honestly could not believe my eyes the next morning at breakfast. A delicious, beautifully presented, and well catered breakfast. We were also served the best coffee I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Over the few days Paul & Mirlin got to know not just us but every guest within the mansion. They knew us by name and our individual likes and dislikes for breakfast. For example, they knew who liked cream, allergies, and even remembered where each person went the day before (if told) and asked questions about our day. The four course meal needs its own review. Paul outdid himself every morning and I truly feel he could never get enough credit for the beautiful presentation and flavors. Mirlin made sure we had fine china to match the aesthetic of the breakfast. She also made sure we had everything we needed during breakfast. Our room, Katie, was amazing. We were greeted by snacks, comfortable robes, and a beautiful rendition of the mansion's history which remained present not just in our room but every part of the mansion. Mirlin made sure daily us and the other guests had everything we needed. Now, let me tell you about the view on the top balcony! Wow. This was truly unexpected! The beautiful mountains of Asheville sit across from the balcony and make a beautiful landscape for a sunset that changes not only the colors of the sky but mountain top and valley. We were able to stay through New Years. We stood on the balcony and watched fireworks around us. Including over the mountain landscape which was truly beautiful. On New Year breakfast, we were served mimosas and had a cheers to the new year. Make going to the Reynold's Mansion a New Years resolution and put it on your bucket list. You will not be disappointed. Paul and Mirlin, thank you for the wonderful experience of being your guest. I could not have asked for better hosts.

Paul and Merlin are very gracious and engaging hosts. They know the area very well and are happy to engage you in conversation as much or as little as you please. The 4-course breakfast is world class, the rooms well appointed and the beds are so comfy! In winter the house is quite cold but there are fireplaces.

Wow, just WOW! Our stay at the Reynolds Mansion was unforgettable and truly a unique experience. When we arrived at the Reynolds Mansion, we were in awe by the beauty of the building and its grounds. The Reynolds Mansion has so much character and charm to it - the depth of experience in respect to history can be seen in every inch of the house. The inside of the Reynolds Mansion is absolutely breathtaking; the interior design and style of the mansion truly makes it feel as if you jumped into a time machine and taken 200 years in the past. The rooms are very cozy, clean, and spacious - it is a delight to unwind in such a luxurious room after a long day of sightseeing in Asheville. You can really see the owner's attention to detail - the sheets are perfectly soft and wonderful smelling, the bathroom is spotless clean, kerosene lamps in the room, great ambient lighting, (there was so much to appreciate about the room that it would take a whole other review to state...) The best Part is also waking up to the sunrise that is accompanied by the smell of breakfast being made downstairs - it's just like Christmas morning! Breakfast was spectacular! The owner, Billy has placed his lovely touches towards the breakfast experience that make it very much enjoyable and a great way to start the day. Breakfast is served at 9 AM where all the guest gather around the huge and elegant dining table. During breakfast Billy shares us stories that have the whole table in tears from laughter - it brought a sense of community that created a bond between the guests that everyone is truly family under the Reynolds Mansion's roof. The China that the breakfast is served on is changed in design everyday and the breakfast servings are all different from day to day. There is no complacency or mediocrity in southern hospitality at Reynolds mansion. The food far exceeds the taste and quality of many popular restaurants in Asheville. We could not have been happier with our choice of the Reynolds Mansion - Paul and Mirlin (owners and innkeepers) greeted us the first day with lemon water, told us a bit about the history of the Inn and took us to our well-appointed rooms - toiletries, water, snacks, comfortable robes and coffee - and a few magazines about Asheville, really everything you could need. The view from their hillside enclave is gorgeous and everything just melts away when you walk through that front door. Breakfast the next morning was astounding - a beautifully plated and delicious 4 course meal, it kept us going all day and was a truly relaxing and elegant way to begin the day. And the coffee was amazing. All in all, a delightful base from which to explore Asheville and the surrounding mountains, and a comfortable place to relax after a long day. Mirlin and Paul were very knowledgeable and gave us helpful tips for getting around and things to see. We'll definitely go back!

Wish I could rate 10 stars! Best hospitality I've experienced! Large airy rooms, lush beautiful gardens, and a location close to best Asheville restaurants. Als... the BEST FOOD EVER to be found, especially at a B&B. In fact, I usually don't stay at B&B's since I have a Celiac dietary restriction. Not only did I feel safe, but the nutritious breakfast included enough high protein and minerals that I was powered through most of the day! If you are considering a visit to anywhere in the Asheville area, be sure to check out the Reynolds Mansion. I will be back for sure! Thank you!!!

A truly unique property, we enjoyed its many charms immensely... whether it's the porch at sunset, the library for a little quiet time, or the well-appointed rooms, staying here is a special experience. As everyone mentions, the breakfasts are just beyond... also good in-room coffee and snacks provided by the hosts. The place is impeccably clean... the shower stall might be the smallest I've ever encountered, but also one of the cleanest. The WWII-era music piped into the lobby really adds to the step-back-in-time appeal, and the hosts are accommodating and helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for an out-of-the-ordinary and entirely delightful home base while in Asheville.

We decided to go to Asheville for a much needed low key week. Since we always travel with 2 dogs, we needed to choose our lodging very carefully. After some research we came across The Reynolds Mansion. The pictures and reviews were great so we decided to take a chance. We called with questions and they were very accommodating to our dogs. Our plans were to arrive on Saturday and stay until Thursday but they only had availability starting on Sunday. They asked us to call back by Friday and they would let's know if they could accommodate us on Saturday as well, and yes they did it. We arrived late afternoon on Saturday and were greeted with a smile under a mask, cold water and lemon, and the sound of our first names. Paul, the owner, took some time to talk to us and to tell us about Asheville, places to go, where the good food was ... For the first night we stayed in the Elephant Walk room in the carriage house. The room was cozy, nicely decorated and had a good smell. Ah by the way, we also got a little bag with freshly baked crunchy cookies (I can't stand soft cookies) and they were delicious. May husband and I may have fought over them. We had a great night of sleep, the bed was a little too soft for my back and neck but my husband liked it. Next day we moved to the Hydrangea room also in the carriage house. The room was decorated with a different theme and it had a jacuzzi in the bathroom. The bed was just perfect! It was also very clean and had a fresh smell, we stayed there until we went back home. The property is surrounded by trees and it's very peaceful. We enjoyed listening to the birds and wild turkeys in the morning but I was very disappointed I didn't get to see a bear picking berries around the property. The breakfast started at 9 am and the breakfast area was set up observing social distancing. Jim, was always ready with fresh coffee, cold water, and orange juice. The breakfast was an experience apart, there was always an expectation to see which china we were going to use, which interesting person we would be meeting for breakfast, and what delicious food they would be serving. It was all about the presentation, if you are a visual person as I am, this is a very important thing. The breakfast feast started with a fresh fruit smoothie, followed by fresh fruit nicely cut and pleasantly arranged in the plate. The main course was my biggest surprise, they used the traditional American breakfast food with a twist on it's presentation and flavor, and they were spot on. The feast ended with some type of delicious desert. While we ate, we had interesting conversations with the other guests or with Paul. We almost resolved all the problems that affect mankind. :) While I was there I had to work remotely, so one day when I was sitting on the porch having a zoom meeting Paul brought me a much needed glass of ice water and lemon. How thoughtful!! I think that was the cherry on the cake. I can't recommend this place enough. The neatness, attention to detail, and the personalized care make this place worthy of your time and money. Thank you, Paul, Mirlin and Jim.

Breakfast was unbelievable. Mike, is gormet chef. We have stayed at numerous bed & breakfasts and this is the best to 30 years. The gardens are amazing, Billy doesn't just have a green thumb, he has a green arm. Really great. Sandy was fantastic, she was helpful and just lovely. Fresh linens and towels. Always there to ask if there was anything she coul get us. Finally the home! Full of stories in every room. Restored and maintained beautifully. One of the best values we have experienced. IBB

Paul & Mirlin exceeded our expectations during our stay...their friendly demeanor, knowledge of the area and excellent cooking made our experience first class. The location was perfect to see Asheville. The accommodations were outstanding and the breakfast was absolutely amazing. Will stay again next time we are in the area.

The grounds are stunning and inviting. Excellent experience. The food was phenomenal, Paul, our host was the best!!! Our total experience was A+ and we encourage anyone to stay here when visiting Asheville. It's close enough to all the main attractions and centrally located. When we come back to Asheville we will return to Reynolds Mansion!

WOW! I don't even know where to begin. Wait, yes, I do! The Reynolds Mansion Bed and Breakfast Inn is THE BEST B&B we've EVER stayed at! My husband and I really hit the jackpot finding this true gem nestled in the mountain side, surrounded by lush foliage, gurgling fountains, blooming flowers and breathtaking sunset views of the mountains. And that was just the first visual impression! The Reynolds Mansion is beautiful and filled with amazing history from a time and lifestyle unfamiliar to most. And then the first morning arrived. We were served a breakfast on the veranda that is SECOND TO NONE! I don't know how we will ever eat breakfast anywhere else. The food was so delicious, beautifully prepared and presented. If we thought breakfast couldn't be topped ... each morning's culinary delights were just as amazing, beautiful and delicious as the last. No lunch needed after that! We stayed in one of the Carriage House Suites with a covered porch, views of the house, pool, lush gardens and fountain. Our room was beautiful, and the bed is a dream with sheets softer than you can imagine! The attention to detail and care in everything was exceptional! Paul, Mirlin and Jim are the quintessential owners/hosts and truly wonderful people. They anticipated all our wants and needs and even things we didn't even know we wanted! We loved spending time with them and getting to know them. We were sad to leave and can't wait to return.

The Reynolds Mansion lives up to all these five star reviews. The mansion is rich with history, if you are interested in such things, and the owner Paul, couldn't be a better host. He asked us if we wanted a tour before we settled in and we were eager to hear more about the mansion. It felt like we were staying in a mansion we have only been able to tour in the past. (I ended up researching more about the history later that night.) The rooms are all distinctly furnished and I felt like I saw something different every time I came down the stairs. We stayed on the third floor in Maggie's room, which I loved because it was cozy and a beautiful lilac color. We wandered around a bit that night because there were not many people staying at the inn and Paul said we could look in any open doors, but to please not sit anywhere. I made sure to look everywhere I could and I was glad I did because the next night, the inn was full. Paul was also very helpful giving us tips on places to eat and visit while we were there. The very best thing about our stay though was the food. It was unbelievably tasty. I had never experienced a four course breakfast and it was amazing. They say it is only three, but my stomach says it was four! We had told Paul that my boyfriend was a super picky eater (on par with a five year old) and he made sure that his meals were plain (different from the rest of the guests). What is a four course breakfast? The first course was a fruit smoothie served in a juice glass with a tiny spoon. The second was a beautifully sliced plate of fruits. The third was a hot entree, usually with egg and meat. The last was a dessert course. We are not used to eating so much for breakfast, but we did our best! We definitely did not need to stop for lunch when we were there. My favorite course was the dessert, of course, but one day we had this beautiful tower of food with a potato pancake, shredded zucchini, ham, tomato couscous, and a poached egg with some hollandaise sauce that was unreal. Jef, my boyfriend, did not eat as much as I did and Paul was very concerned that he was not enjoying breakfast, so he stopped us on our way out one morning and said he felt terrible that Jef was not eating as much and had a special breakfast planned for our last day there. We assured him that we were enjoying the meals immensely, but this is just one way that Paul will go out of his way to make sure you are having the best time there. I cannot recommend this bed and breakfast enough. It's only four miles from downtown Asheville and the Biltmore is not much further. There is also an area you could walk to from the mansion with several places to eat.

I can't say enough about this place!!! We just got back from our second visit staying here. The rooms are amazing, the breakfast is top notch! Overall, my favorite part about staying here is the staff. Sandy and Jim are absolutely wonderful and they meet your every need. The owner Billy is so personable and I could just sit with him for hours and talk. If you haven't been here, it is a MUST!

I have never enjoyed a trip/hotel/B&B so much in my life. Breakfast was tasty, amazing, and not too foo foo. Paul, his wife, and staff were amicable, professional, welcoming, and caring. Covid-19 distancing, masks, and sanitizing was a welcome sight. The mansion was glorious, historical, and comforting. Even the bunnies were there ready to welcome us! The landscaping and flowers were beautiful. The bed was so comfortable that I slept like a baby. It was so quiet and peaceful. Additionally, we were only about 10 minutes from downtown and just below the mansion were shops and restaurants. I can't say enough about how happy we were to stay there Friday through Sunday nights. Each breakfast was different and delicious!!! I WILL go again!!!

We stayed here three nights recently. The experience was very nice. Paul and his wife (the owners) were very hospitable and their friend Alison (sp?) was super accommodating. She's a friend from Melbourne Beach FL who also owns a B&B with her husband called Seaglass - check it out. Back to Reynolds Mansion. They know how to do the 2nd B - Breakfast!! Can you say 'four course breakfast"! As an example one day it was: Peach Smoothie, Fruit plate with poppyseed dressing, Eggs Benedict with Guacamole, and for dessert (who gets dessert at breakfast - they Reynolds folks do) - Blueberry pancakes! Talk about food coma. We just skipped lunch every day and walked it off when touring the Biltmore, Grove Park Inn and downtown Asheville. Totally and thoroughly recommend this B&B - but do keep in mind it's a mid-late 1800's mansion with all it's character and charm - not to missed from our vantage point.

We had a "sisters" trip and stayed there for three nights recently. Everything was impressive from the start. It is an expansive property with beautiful gardens, close to town, but one where one feels away from it all. After driving several hours, I was greeted by name at the driveway by Paul, the owner, with a glass of cold water with lemon on a silver tray. My bag was taken upstairs to the room and I was given a personal tour of the home, with some background history of the house. Every room in the house is beautifully furnished with period furniture (1850's?). The table in the dining room is the longest, most impressive I had seen. The house has a wrap around porch on both levels, and we enjoyed morning coffee before breakfast on the upper porch and afternoon down time on the lower level. Breakfasts were exquisitely prepared, four course meals! Paul is an accomplished, expert chef, who clearly takes great pleasure in food preparation with the freshest and most interesting combination of ingredients and enjoys providing his guests with out of the norm, really especially creative dishes. The bathroom in my suite was a little on the small side and could use a bit more shelf space, but all was very clean and the room was well furnished and backed up to the upper level porch, so I could open the curtains and have a view of the city and have the light come in. It is a lovely place for rest and relaxation, or a place to go to at the end of a busy day touring the area.

Spectacular renovation restored to its original glory. Billy was put on this earth to be an innkeeper! Guests can spend hours exploring the history of the home and the memorabilia. Sandy was available to help with our slightest wish. This is a MUST STAY for anyone visiting Asheville!!

You will step into history here in comfortable, luxurious surroundings. When Billy and Michael purchased this lovely property, they restored it by honoring the traditions of those who lived in the home for generations before. Every room is a masterpiece. The Reynolds Mansion is picturesque and tranquil--a perfect place to enjoy Asheville. The breakfast was one of the best we've ever had and the staff is wonderful. We were enthralled listening to Billy. You will never forget your stay here! I took my son's new fiance and another son's girlfriend and surprised them by bringing their mothers along. My sister joined us and we had a perfect, albeit short, girls weekend. And we could not have picked a better spot! We enjoyed the Eating Asheville tour (a great way to learn about Asheville and its cuisine) and had a fabulous dinner at Stoney Knob nearby, all on Billy's recommendation. We stayed in all three units in the Carriage House. Perfect!! This is the place we will stay when we are back in Asheville. We loved it.

I was completely stressed out after a long hot summer in Raleigh full of too much work and too much email, so I put the computer away and went to Asheville. I found the Reynolds Mansion Inn on TripAdvisor, and thank goodness! My parents had just went to a completely rotten B&B in Edenton and they came back more stressed out than when they left. So I was so happy to have an entirely opposite experience at the Reynolds Mansion! The home is gorgeous. The furniture is gorgeous. The rooms are gorgeous. The owners are gorgeous :). Billy met us at the door and gave us maps, pamphlets, and many recommendations for dinner. We followed his advice and had two scrumptious meals: one at Carmel's Kitchen and one at Stoney Knob Cafe. Then we returned to the Inn to find stacks of brownies and cookies to be raided for late night snacks. The fridge was stocked with water and sodas all day. We had a lovely night's sleep in a comfy bed with thick walls and beautiful appointments. And the breakfast in the morning was to die for! Billy cooks everything himself (like crepes with potato and veggies with homemade scones or fluffy blueberry pancakes). And Billy stuck around to tell us fascinating stories about the previous residents of the Mansion and even a ghost or two. I've stayed in B&Bs that were much more expensive with much less quality. This is THE place to stay in Asheville! I can't wait to go back!

We stayed here in Oct. 2011 on a girlfriends' getaway to Asheville, and what a treat it was! SO glad we opted to spend a little more and stay here versus a cheap chain hotel. Innkeepers Billy and Michael couldn't have been more helpful and hospitable, and the home has incredible charm. Upon check in late afternoon we wanted to take advantage of sunset on the huge wraparound porch, and asked Billy where the closest wine store was. His reply? "Red or white? It'll be waiting for you on the porch when you come back down from your rooms." Better yet, we got to visit with Rhett and Scarlett, their friendly English Bulldogs. We asked Billy for dinner recommendations, and he gave us all his favorites. The one we ended up at, a former Greek diner gone upscale, was amazing. The rooms are quaintly decorated and very comfortable with en suite bathrooms. Water pressure was weak, but what can you expect on the third floor of a home built in the mid-1800s? The history of the home, which Billy gladly shares with colorful stories, is well worth it. In the morning, there are Keurig coffee makers on every floor, and the porch is a lovely place to sip a cup as the sun rises. Then Billy serves up a gourmet breakfast on formal china in the dining room. Reynolds is the best B&B experience I've ever had! Thank you!

What a great find this place was! From the moment I pulled up to leaving the next morning my stay there was so pleasant! Paul and Sandy were so genuine and accommodating and they even arranged for me to have breakfast an hour earlier than they usually do it so I could make it to an interview. They were so interesting to talk to I almost forgot to leave for my interview! The location can't be beat for proximity to UNCA and Asheville.

Incredible all around! We held our intimate wedding ceremony and reception at The Reynolds Mansion and couldn't have been happier. From the moment we met inn keepers Paul and Merlin, we felt at ease. Up until visiting The Reynolds Mansion, the wedding planning process had been incredibly stressful. All of our worries subsided after visiting, just two weeks before our wedding. Paul spent time listening to us, getting to know us, and letting us get to know him. He had wonderful feedback for everything from vendor suggestions to ideal spaces on the property for photographs. The entire weekend went off without a hitch. They were prompt, professional, readily willing to lend a hand, and the picture of calm on the day of our wedding. At the last minute, literally, we asked for a special song to be played as the bride walked down the aisle and just like every other request, he took care of it without hesitation. The hospitality at The Reynolds Mansion is incomparable. They even went so far as to replace a floral arrangement that had wilted overnight without being asked to do so. From the delicious food, the incredible ambiance, the hospitality, to the fascinating stories- we couldn't have asked for more. By the end of the weekend it felt like we were leaving dear friends.

My husband and I had a wonderful time here. The inn keeper , Billy, exceeded our expectations with the hospitality he provided. He is very charming and entertains you with the most interesting stories about the history of the house. It is evident he has poured his heart into this home. He makes you feel like a treasured guest in his home. The mansion itself is beautifully decorated with antiques and period pieces and art. I loved the peaceful gardens and porches where you can relax and enjoy the Mountain View's. Sandy keeps the house immaculate and is so thoughtful and kind. Breakfast is delicious and is served to you on lovely china in a beautiful dining room. We had fresh cherry pancakes with creamy grits and eggs with thick cut bacon. We will never forget our time at the Reynolds Mansion and look forward to our next stay.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at the Reynolds Mansion. It greatly added to our visit to Asheville, and we will plan to stay there the next time we visit. General: I loved the whole atmosphere of the Reynolds Mansion. We spent the mornings before breakfast sitting in rocking chairs on the upstairs wraparound porch, sipping coffee and looking out over Asheville. We walked around the grounds to see the chickens and ducks and got to say "Hi" to Billy's adorable bulldogs, Rhett and Scarlett. Billy & Sandy were incredibly welcoming and made sure that we were comfortable throughout our stay. Billy had great suggestions for the best places to see, eat, and hike as well as how to make the most of the few days we were there. Rooms: The rooms are each named for different family members. They are a good size, clean, and comfortable. They have the charm of feeling like a room in a house, rather than a generic hotel room, making it easy to settle in and relax. Breakfast: Breakfast was amazing. Billy is a wonderful chef, and we filled up on homemade pastries, eggs, fresh fruit, and whatever else Billy had on the menu for the day. The creativity, flavor, and presentation of the dishes were all amazing. While we ate, we talked with the other guests, and Billy shared stories about the house, his experiences, and even local ghost stories! Location: The Reynolds Mansion is a quick drive into downtown Asheville. On weeknights, you can drive in and park, but for the weekend we took Billy's suggestion of getting an Uber. It was quick and inexpensive and saved us the hassle of having to find parking. We wanted to take a day hike and were about a 45-minute drive from the mountain hiking trails. Getting to the Biltmore was about 15 minutes, plus another 10-15 getting from the gates to the parking lot. Overall, a very convenient location for all components of an Asheville trip. Also, the prices at the Reynolds Mansion are comparable to those close to the Biltmore estate, but the accommodations and experience are much better! The Reynolds Mansion is more than just a place to stay. It is absolutely a value-added component to your visit to Asheville, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay there.

If you love historic places and antiques, a B&B that does not allow children (yippee for us!), and can respect that you are staying in the owner's home, this B&B is for you. Billy is a fantastic host who delights in describing the history of the mansion - which he knows backwards and forwards. He is also a fabulous cook and baker and you will be treated like royalty at breakfast. Your coffee cup will be magically refilled every time it gets down to half...and the coffee is excellent. No weak dishwater here. There is a well stocked guest refrigerator with bottled water, sodas and Chardonnay, as well as red wine available, and in the parlor a tray with whisky, cognac, and cocktail sherry. There was a delicious, moist chocolate cake the entire time we were there, and cookies as well. Delightful hospitality. Our room was spacious, and had an extra bed that was useful. The walls are thick so you do not hear your neighbors. I very much appreciated the A/C, though it was a bit noisy at night. If you like to be a slob, do not stay here. There are many antiques, and limited energy supply in such an old home. Though there is a new shopping mall and condos directly across the street, you can still view magnificent sunsets from furnished balconies and verandas. There is even a hammock to rock away your cares. Best of all for me was a large, private, and beautifully maintained swimming pool. I needed that refreshing water in the hot, hot days of the Asheville summer. Flowers abound on the property and attract a variety of butterflies and hummingbirds. If you ask Billy or Michael nicely, you may get to meet their adorable bulldogs, Rhett and Scarlett. There are some fun and quirky surprises here, like the display case of Dracula, Frankenstien etc., dolls and models.....looking very haunted indeed - all lit up at night. Feel free to ask Billy about ghosts. I will always remember Billy's fried grits, fruit buns, and superb pancakes. His breakfasts were among the best we have had in our travels.I have never seen a host go so much out of his way to make each and every guest feel comfortable and pampered.

My wife and I stayed here last weekend in Rhett's bungalow while my inlaws stayed inside the mansion. The bungalow is dog friendly so we got to bring our well behaved mutt. The owners keep this house in perfect condition and are always willing to help. The location could not have been more ideal for us. We were in town for a family wedding which was at the Arboretum and we also went into town for a night. Billy was happy to help us with directions and a good place to eat. The mansion is located at the base of a spectacular mountain and also about 2 miles from downtown. I really wish we could have spent more time here and if we make it back we would gladly stay again. The breakfast was delicious and he puts this glaze in his pancakes which will make you want to drool, but please don't as this place is fancy and fabulous!

Just can't say enough good things - beautiful rooms, museum quality artifacts, and owners who are some sort of combination real estate geniuses, creative chefs, and amazing storytellers. This is not your 'usual' B&B, unless you typically stay in places that previous housed the Hope Diamond, were nearly torn down before being placed on the National Historic Registry, and feature two adorable, sweet, English bulldogs named Rhett and Scarlett (and if you do I'd really like to become friends with you so let me know). I've never felt so relaxed and well fed after a stay while gaining valuable history IQ points at the same time! In all honesty, Billy is such a great storyteller and I don't want to steal his thunder by reporting all the amazing facts about this place here on yelp. But I will say that I truly enjoyed hearing his tales while eating the breakfast he cooked that morning - a poached pear breakfast first course followed by potato cakes topped with sliced turkey, seasoned couscous, grilled asparagus, and a poached egg. And homemade cinnamon bread. And a house staff serving delicious coffee and modifying anything you want to meet your needs. The rooms were immaculate and lovingly restored to their original detail (with a few upgrades...). The grounds are equally impressive. The overview of Asheville, including recommendations on weekend activities, restaurants, anything you want - was very helpful for out-of-town guests. You just can't go wrong!

This is an amazing place. It is beautifully restored. The owner is careful in every way: upkeep of the historic property, the lovely grounds and the breakfasts with local foods. We loved our three day stay there and will come back.

Stayed for several days while in Asheville for a wedding. What a find! The owners are truly suited to run a B & B. People friendly. Pet friendly. Home-like and wonderfully furnished, with coffee makers, sweet treats all around and more. Filled with memorabilia from throughout the home's history, and what a history it's had. Wonderful pastoral setting. Great food! The room was impeccable; the bed very comfortable and the ensuite bathroom an unexpected bonus. "Reynolds Village" just a short walk away, provides nearby amenities, such as coffee shops and such, without losing the pastoral, small town feeling of the place. Two words: Stay here!

Most beautiful B & B in Asheville NC! Very historic and Billy the owner will sit for hours and be happy to tell you the history of the house. Very interesting and I could have listened to him all day. The accommodations were quaint, amazing, beautiful and comfortable. Billy and Sandy were welcoming, friendly, accommodating and by the time we left after 2 nights they seemed like family. Love this place. I have stayed at some of the finest B & B's in the U.S. and some of the worst probably over 100 in all. And this is one of the top two on my list. I will definitely be coming back. As commercial as Asheville has become, it is really wonderful to step back in time and have a quiet stay in a beautifully appointed historic home. Lots of delicious food too! If I could say one thing bad it would be that it was too cold outside (December) but I cannot say anything but glorious praises for Billy and Sandy and the Reynolds Mansion Inn.
