This Midwest City Is One of the Best Places for the Holidays With Its New 1,000-foot-long Riverfront Ice Skating Trail
"The Ribbon is a 1,000-foot-long ice skating trail that winds along the river and leads to an adjacent 5,000-square-foot skating pond. It features cabanas with fire pits and heaters, and offers food delivery from The Garden by Poco Piatti. The Ribbon's ice skating season opens on Nov. 8 and runs through early March, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas." - Evie Carrick

I've only been to the most southern side of the park but it was pretty nice! We went on the walkway that goes over the water and it was really cool! They have little rope bridges to walk across. I was scared at first but once you fight your fears and go across, it's pretty exciting lol I can't wait to go back and see the whole park!

The gardens here are magical, considering the low knowledge of the designers (I heard this from board members, not just fluff!) Seeing Echium, Epimedium, and Baptisia in such proximity is a dazzling treat. The variety of peonies was also joyous.

Absolutely wonderful! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The skating area is fun and friendly for all levels of skaters. They have skate helpers so people can learn and feel safe when gliding on the ice. I personally used the handrails and saved $8. So much fun, we will be returning. They have a cafe with food and drinks, fireplaces, outdoor and indoor seating, cabanas to rent, lockers to store stuff and an easy to navigate online reservations center.

A fantastic place for outdoor ice skating!
The staff were super nice, the skates fit just fine and the atmosphere in the Metro Park is a great setting.
The restaurant in the building had very good food, including vegan options and local brew.
I can't wait to go back for ice skating season in the fall.

Really nice part of the Toledo metro parks. Very well maintained. Very nice. They have rental skates if you need them. If you don't you can bring your own and it's free.
Free parking and it's connected to playgrounds and a restaurant and a bar.
In the summer it's roller skating in the winter it's ice skating.

My wife's company rented the Poco Piatti/skate rental venue for the Christmas party this year.
Everyone on staff was super helpful and the brick oven pizza, mini salads, and appetizers were a huge upgrade compared to the events we've done in the past at other locations.
Special nod to the donut holes for dessert. Amazing!
The private after dinner skating was also a huge hit with young and old alike. The staff on the ice was super helpful with tips for novice skaters as well as getting skate aids onto the ice for the younger skaters who needed help with balance.
