Two words - Hippie Hash! We visited while staying at a cabin in the area. I read other reviews about the hash so we had to try it. It was unbelievably delicious. Seriously. Try it! My husband got a Philly and thought it was excellent. My salad was great. The restaurant has a bit of a diner atmosphere. Katie was an attentive and welcoming server. The restroom was clean and a staff person replaced the empty soap right away. A quaint restaurant in a quiet little Ohio town. Definitely worth a visit!

Google
Absolutely fantastic food, service and an absolute joy to sit on the porch with farm tractors, bikers and locals driving by in a true small town atmosphere! Laurelville has a LOT to offer and it was so nice to spend Mother's Day there with family! The donuts are made on site, the bourbon chicken and rice is to die for, and the poppy burger and BLT on rye were both excellent. They were slammed with a full parking lot and restaurant, yet our food was HOT! I am only 30 mins away and WILL be back!!!!!

We stopped here for lunch with our pup on a hot day. Our server Kelly was incredibly kind and made sure our dog had water and some homemade chicken skin treats. The place is so nice, food was great & affordable, and service was unparalleled. We'll definitely be back on future trips!

I have lived in the area for about 3 years. This was my first visit and I will 100% return. Service was nice and friendly. Food was excellent. The atmosphere was quant and comforting. This will become a regular place going forward.

Google
This family and dog friendly restaurant was fabulous!! They brought the dogs treats and water in dog bowls out to the patio seating area. The crispy chicken sandwich did not disappoint nor did the fried pork tenderloin. The meatloaf was flavorful as well as the hippy hash! The service was top notch. We even got the last dozen of donut holes for the day. Wow so tasty!!

I've driven PAST this place dozens of times. Never Again. It's truly Appalachian Wonderfulness. When exploring the Hocking Hill Country it's an absolute Must-Do. WARNING: if the Soup-of-the-Day is "Steak and Ale," order just a cup if you plan on having an entree. It's such a hearty soup (not to mention TOTALLY delicious) you won't have room for anything else. The "Bourbon Chicken" has a deep 'sweet and sour' taste that begins VERY strong but softens quickly, leaving a near addictive after taste. Be sure to check out the wall art. It's all for sale, and pretty good to boot. "The Hills" have a LOT of hidden treasures. This is a culinary one. (ps... if you plan your trip in October, this place becomes Standing Room Only)

Came here for a coffee pit-stop on our cycling adventure of Logan/Hocking Hills ☕️🚴🏽‍♀️ The kindness and hospitality of the employees who work here are like no other - pure sweetness and constant smiles. Our waitress gave our coffees to us “on the house” as we were “out-of-town cyclists just passing through” - which was extremely generous 🙏🏼 Although we didn’t have any food, every plate that came by us looked absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back here for lunch/dinner next year when we return to Ohio 🥰 Thank you again for such lovely and warm hospitality 💛💚🧡💙💜

Google
We were here visiting a cabin over the weekend and was recommended to stop here to try their famous donuts and let me just say those donuts literally melt in your mouth And literally the best thing ever the food was pretty good. They were extremely busy when we went so it took a little bit to get the food with the waitresses. There are so friendly and it literally feels like you are part of the family when you walk in.

Yelp
From the moment we walked in the door and were greatly warmly and told to sit wherever we'd like . Kelly was our server and she was so awesome ! She helped us through the menu and made great recommendation ! Provides information on where to shop nearby too! She brought us samples of the donut holes and they were amazing ! We ordered an in house made warm, glazed donut and it did not disappoint !!! I can see why everyone raves about them . My husband had a breakfast biscuit and home fries ! He stated it was the best biscuit he's ever tasted and the best tasting home fries. I had the steak sandwich and fries! I was so full from the donut and the donut holes, I could not eat my fries, although they looked hot and delicious . The sandwich did not disappoint . I opted for peppers, in place of mushrooms and no mayo . We are in town for a couple more days and can't wait to go back tomorrow .

Yelp
This place brings in the locals and serves fresh doughnuts at a price. The breakfast menu is not extensive but you'll have no problem finding a good meal. I choose the biscuits with gravy over hash browns. The portions are served well. Most of the art work is for sale and if you have the time is interesting in looking at. Do yourself a favor and stop by to try one of their famous doughnuts.

Yelp
Perfect for breakfast before a hike. Staff was awesome, super friendly and service oriented. The food was great homemade breakfast. Eggs made to order. Donuts fresh at 11am and amazingly delicious. Would definitely visit again!

Yelp
We didn't know we could just seat ourselves, so we were standing there with regulars staring instead of just telling us. Took a long time for someone to take our drink order. They were out of the appropriate buns for their sandwiches. I like char on my burger, but this was a thick machine made patty with too much char. I probably wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Super cute place. They sell local artist's art that's hanging on the walls. We randomly picked this place driving through. Had high ratings so why not? Apps: we got the corn bites. Was suppose to get chipotle ranch and reg ranch, no such luck. They got to the table hot! They were decent. Would have been nice to dip them in something. Food: I got the fish sammich, not on a bun as the menu said. Just showed up on toasted white bread. Hardly any tarter. Fries were good. Decent. Other order was the Ruben as that is what they are known for and the wife loves Ruben's. Came on the right bread lol. Meat was good but limited. Sweet potato fries were good. Waited over an hour from when we ordered. We were told it was going to be a wait when we came in. Honestly wasn't thinking an hour but I think there's only one person in the kitchen. Over all... decent. Nothing crazy good. Prob won't remember it in a week. But for 2 to eat, one soda, 2 meals and an app it was $30 so decently priced.

Yelp
The food was simple and great. Best fried mushrooms ever! What stood out was the service. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. She doted on our kids and made it our favorite meal of our Hocking Hills weekend. Next trip, we will certainly be back. Make sure you save room for the homemade donuts!

Yelp
Came for brunch. Was super nice and friendly staff. Place was very clean and inviting. Food came out cooked perfectly. They have some awesome dessert options if it fits in your diet. Would recommend the Border Breakfast for a low carb healthy option that tastes amazing.

Yelp
Staff was very friendly & happy to accommodate my Gluten Intolerance. Unfortunately I ended up with a turkey burger & sweet potato fries that were just ok & I left hungry as the portion was small. My husband had a bell pepper soup he did love & a chicken salad he said was excellent, but a little shy on portion as well. Waitress brought him a sample of a different soup just to try & that was sweet & he thought it was excellent as well. If you're looking for local while near-ish to Hocking Hills I recommend it giving it a try

Ashley E.

Yelp
It went very good and the service and food was great. Pretty quiet place and very friendly servers. Free wifi as well. Bathrooms look cool.

Yelp
We visited on a day when their water was shut off like 15 minutes after we were seated. But despite that hiccup, we had a great meal and our server was very kind and on top of everything, even if she was flustered by all of the things happening around her that were out of her control. We were doing some hiking and sightseeing in the Hocking Hills area, which is how we ended up here. We visited for lunch, and took a seat at one of their outdoor tables. The menu is your typical American food fare: hamburgers and meatloaf and sandwiches and salads. They have a kids menu, but the kids menu doesn't have cheeseburgers on it, so if your child wants a cheeseburger (as mine did), then you'll have to order a cheeseburger from the regular menu. I got the Poppi Burger which was topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions and provolone cheese. It was tasty. My husband got a salad which he liked, and my other child got mac and cheese, which looked like the Kraft mac and cheese from the yellow and blue box, but it was perfect because it was familiar, and kids just want familiar and not gourmet. We all enjoyed our meals and had a nice little lunch on the patio of Ridge Inn.

Yelp
This place is Fantastic. We had dinner from there and the food is just excellent. Fresh and homemade. We liked it so much we went back the next day and ate inside. The place is clean and so cute. Our waitress was so nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
My husband and I were driving around the hocking hills yesterday and we luckily stopped here for lunch. The overall feeling of this restaurant is warmth. The employees there make you feel like you are their old friends. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! This local restaurant is definitely a "do not miss" in the hocking hills.

Yelp
Ate breakfast here over the weekend during our get away. Lemme just start off by saying if you are able to meet coco the cat, he will make your entire day so much better The hot mess breakfast was THE best thing I have ever eaten! Every single ingredient was fresh, the plating was so cute and the service was pretty fast! Our waitress was extremely sweet and if we are ever back in town we will be coming back! Oh and let's not forget the donuts. THE DONUTS WERE TO DIE FOR. You must try them if you stop by!

Valerie W.

Yelp
Great food. Home cooked, lovely the service. Dessert are to die for. Easy to locate. We will come again

Tracy ..

Yelp
We stopped here for a bite after hiking. The food was amazing. I had the reuben with a side of mixed veggies and both were awesome. The veggies were so good that I wanted more and it was a large portion. Hubby had the beef philly and kettle chips and raved about his food too. Sister had the burger and onion rings and said they were great. A friend had a salad and fries and enjoyed hers too. I took home a slice of the lemon blueberry cake. It was not made in-house but was excellent. Our waitress, Kelly, was fast, efficient, and fun and could not have been nicer. We will all be going back there again.

Yelp
I stopped here for lunch with a friend while riding through Laurelville on our way to the Hocking Hills area. It was a warm and dry day in the middle of the week, and there were several other full tables on the patio. This is a basic, rural, nothing-fancy type of place, but I enjoyed the experience. The wait staff was super friendly and efficient, and we were never left unattended. My friend had a burger, and I ordered the fish sandwich. His burger looked big, and he said it was pretty good. One odd thing is that all of the burgers are served on Texas toast - my sandwich as well. Regarding the fish sandwich, it was made from a frozen filet, but was very tasty and the condiments were fresh. For an out-in-the-boonies lunch stop, this place is a good choice.

Cortney E.

Yelp
This place was so cute! We're here for a weekend getaway and LOVED it. The food was hot, quick and the service was so friendly. We felt welcomed as soon as we walked in. If you're in town, stop by!

Linda K.

Yelp
Been looking at it for years & finally decided to give it a try. Food and service basically good but it was definitely slow food.

Yelp
A wonderful diner in the middle of what could only be described as small town USA. Super cheap prices, large portions and friendly service... could you ask for anything else? They play oldies on the record player( yes they have a turn table!) and have dynamite specials throughout the week. We had breakfast which was delightful. I wish we would have been able to try their homemade donuts, but that is a weekend treat only. Make sure you search out this diner... it's worth it

Yelp
This is a quaint little place tucked away in Laurelville, Ohio, with some of the best home cooking you'll ever have outside your home. The staff treats you like family (service matters) and the portions are giant! Our waitress, Kelly, not only took care of us but she was knowledgeable of the surrounding area, and helped us learn of other places we might enjoy visiting. Then there's the homemade donuts! Oh. My. Word. Melt-in-your-mouth-GOOD! We will definitely visit again.

Troy L.

Yelp
Friendly and welcoming! We did lunch one day and made a point of returning for breakfast the next day. Everything we tried was excellent. We ate at several area restaurants during our visit. This was the best food by far, and we even returned the next day rather than try another place. The white chocolate blueberry cobbler cheesecake was truly spectacular, well worthwhile. This is a beautiful dining room with nice old wood, glazed tables. There was really beautiful local art on display as well.
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Delicious donuts!!!! Staff was kind and courteous. I definitely will be coming back when we visit hocking hills again!

Jana R.

Yelp
Delicious lunch, great service, homey atmosphere and super friendly staff. I had the Cobb salad and all ingredients were fresh and well presented. My husband had the wrap and he raved about how tasty it was. Not huge portions but the perfect size for lunch. Also, a cute little shop area by the bakery counter with beautiful wood items that I found out were handmade by a local veteran. As a bonus my husband couldn't resist getting a coffee and few donuts holes for the road. As we drove down the highway he was lamenting that he only had 6, they were so good.

Yelp
Awesome lunch at the Ridge Inn. If you're anywhere near Hocking Hills make sure you stop here for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Food tasted great! My wife had the veggie quesadilla and I had the steak sandwich. Both filled the plates and hit the spot. I had sweet potato fries and they were great as well. I couldn't pass up the peanut butter cheesecake and it didn't disappoint either! We somewhat randomly picked The Ridge Inn for lunch and were very happy we did! Easily will be our "regular" stop when heading to or from Hocking Hills!

Sharon R.

Yelp
Great staff and great food! We sat outside with our dog and they were so attentive to us and our dog. Wonderful place for a relaxing meal.

Scott C.

Yelp
This is a favorite stop when visiting the hocking hills. They have some of the best doughnuts in Ohio!! Definitely worth a stop.

Yelp
We were camping up the road at Spotted Horse Ranch, and the woman in the office there suggested coming here....glad we istened! BEST homemade donuts we've had in a LONG time! The night's special was crab cakes, so of course I got those, the man ordered a Steakhouse sandwhich (I think was the name of it!) and sister got the Bourbon Chicken. I've eaten m weight in crab cakes over the years, and these were DELICIOUS!!! I got another order to go! My man's sammich was superb, and sister's bourbon chicken rivaled any on a chinese menu! We were there on a Thursday night, so on advice from the owner, Jo (what a cool lady!) we ordered a dozen homemade donuts to be picked up hot and fresh that Friday morning. Now, my sister WARNED my man not to interfere with me and a donut .... maybe I'll upload a pic of the scar left on his hand when he tried reaching for a third....LOL Ya'll really need to check this place out! Truly that "STAR" in a one-stop-sign town!
google avatar

Lori O.

Yelp
Everytime we would roll through Laurelville, I always say "we need to check this place out sometime". Well, we finally did & we're not disappointed. Server informed us that we could sit wherever we wanted so we opted to sit at a table made of hand carved wood that was beautiful & the perfect size for the two of us. We started with the corn nugget appetizer which were delicious & piping hot. We ordered pink lemonade to drink, the server said that they were having an issue with the machine & that if we didn't like it that she would get us whatever else we wanted to drink, but with a little bit of stirring, it was fine. I ordered the steak sandwich & he ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. We both enjoyed our lunch & even ordered their homemade carrot cake for dessert which was delicious. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Me & my basset hound stopped here for lunch to go after a visit to Ash Cave...got the steak sandwich & some homemade donuts---sandwich was good, the donuts were amazing! The people were super friendly--they all came out while I was waiting on the patio to come & check out "the cute dog"! We swapped dog stories & my pup got a little snack from the owner. Cute restaurant & friendly staff, I'm so glad we stopped here

Greg S.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by our meals. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with sweet potato fries; the food was tasty, reasonably priced, and seemed to use good-quality ingredients. My wife was similarly satisfied with her chicken quesadilla. While the menu is fairly basic and the food wasn't exceptional, for a relaxing lunch after some hiking in the area it was just what I needed.

Caitlin K.

Yelp
Going here becomes a family tradition for many locals. It's the best restaurant around after visiting Hocking Hills. It's good quality food at fair prices. The atmosphere is always a delight, staff are always friendly! Food always tastes fantastic!

Christine G.

Yelp
Heard about this place from a local and WOW am I glad. First, the staff makes you feel so at home. We weren't expecting to get that quality bourbon chicken in such a little town but it was unbelievable. That as well as the chicken and vegetables In the garlic sauce. Just a 10/10 experience and will be a forever stop for us when visiting the area. Also, don't ever let yourself miss out on those donuts!!!!

Yelp
This is the prettiest business in Laurelville, hands down!!! I've always enjoyed the food, and MEATLOAF MONDAY is my favorite day of the week! In response to the restrictions placed on restaurants and now on individuals due to the pandemic Corona Virus, The Ridge has just started delivery service!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!! They are making a huge effort to keep their staff working, while bringing us the food we love Homemade Donuts are made Thursday-Saturday, but you better call Wednesday to reserve yours - they're so good they often sell out!!! Now you can HAVE YOUR DONUTS DELIVERED!!! KUDOS TO JO AND HER HARD WORKING STAFF!
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Unremarkable. Stopped for lunch. They apparently have good donuts and homemade chicken salad but the burger was clearly a JT's style frozen pattie. No complaints per se but not a stand out. Worth dropping in for a quick bite but don't expect to be super impressed.

Raul D.

Yelp
This is an incredible Jem of a restaurant. Clearly home cooked meals wife had freshly made egg salad and it was fantastic . The open face roast beef sandwich didn't have a speck of fat. The deserts were just as good. Excellent service reasonable prices and excellent food
google avatar

Carol M.

Yelp
Delicious meal! Nice home cooking. The young lady that waited on us was very friendly and we had a very nice time.

Yelp
Cozy little restaurant to stop at if you're in, or more likely passing through, Laurelville. Tried a mozzarella stick and corn nugget that were okay, but likely came from the frozen food aisle. My nine year old had the chicken tenders kids meal which was tiny. There were 3 tenders which are more like flattened nuggets with a tiny portion of fries. If your kid is older than 6 or 7, this won't fill them up. I had the reuben which was fine although it didn't have the largest portion of corned beef. The kettle chips are made in house and pretty good after adding salt. The wife had the chargrilled chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. She didn't complain about the sandwich, and the fries were good but came in a smallish portion. Unless you order an appetizer, you'll likely still have room for dessert.

Mary J.

Yelp
So glad we found this restaurant in Laurelville. Staying nearby and didn't see many choices. I had the Reuben with a salad and sweet potatoes fries. So delicious!! My husband loved his meatloaf dinner and was craving more. Daughter had a chicken wrap and saved some for a late night snack. Clean, good food, friendly and prompt waitress. Pleasantly surprised! Just loved this place!

Catherine S.

Yelp
My husband and I went there for brunch midweek and ordered from the breakfast menu (served until 11 am). He had the Croissant French Toast and I had the Half Messy (a smaller portion of the Hot Mess). Freshly made (not microwaved) and delicious. I thought the coffee was a bit old and not very hot but I'm sure they would have fixed it if I'd asked. Kelly, our server, was very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere, fresh and hot food, and great service. We will definitely be back to try out the lunch menu.
google avatar

Pat G.

Yelp
No one met us at door. Then a large group came in and was told to sit where they wished. We sat at a table next to them. Server took their order and ignored us. We actually waited 10 minutes. She never came back! We left. We weren't in a hurry but that was poor service!
google avatar

Kennedy H.

Yelp
Perfect example of good home cooking. Our waitress was wonderful and kind. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meal and service was quick.

Ant H.

Yelp
Stopped to grab a bite, wasn't feeling the menu so I asked for my check. Got charged $8 for two waters and a pop. First and last time I go there.
google avatar

Rocky F.

Yelp
Great restaurant! Jessie served our table and she was very nice. She did a great job. The food was excellent and the soups were like 'momma used to make'! Got to give it a try!
google avatar

Guy K.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere. Clean and the service was very good. Our waitress was attentive and kept our drinks full. Food had good flavor, however my wife's grilled chicken sandwich appeared burned. The portion sizes were quite small. The fries were so few you could literally count every French fry in the basket because none were touching each other. I had the mushroom and Swiss. The burger had good flavor but very light on the toppings. Not worth the price charged.
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
My family ate here after a long day of hiking in Hocking, and we were HUNGRY! Be warned, they do no serve alcohol and I was really craving a beer, but that is not the reason for my low rating. While the service was great, and the food was ok, the portions are tiny. Both my wife and I ordered "entrees", I got the meatloaf and my wife got the fish and chips (after appetizers of cheese bits), and we could have easily eaten twice as much. I guess that's what you get when your entree only costs $10 though. My daughters both got kids meals spaghetti, and we all ended up snacking on trail mix when we got back to our cabin. Again, the food tasted good enough, but I would have happily paid more for realistic portions.
google avatar

Lisa U.

Yelp
Really like The Ridge Inn. They have a great menu, inventive for a small town restaurant - such as black bean burgers (very yummy by the way. Service is attentive, prices are reasonable. I've been there a half dozen times and have been quite pleased each time. I will return!
google avatar

Brett And Barb S.

Yelp
Service was great! And it took no time to get our food. Nice little homey atmosphere.
google avatar

Jules W.

Yelp
Best home fries I have ever had. If you're in hocking hills to visit, this is a must for breakfast. Quick and easy start to the morning, and it's right near ash falls.
google avatar

Karl H.

Yelp
Loved it! The owner was very personable and several vegetables are grown fresh in her garden. We started with some white cedar bites and corn fritters. YUM! The cheese bites were some of the best I have had. For mains I had the meatloaf and my wife tried the special - flat iron steak. The steak was cooked just right. Meat loaf was very tasty and I would order it again. Very friendly staff even though we came in right before close. So glad Yelp pointed us to this place in Hocking Hills.
