The Riehl Deli and Cheese Shop

Lots of different cheeses, dips, pickles! The girl was nice enough to custom make a cooper sharp and cheddar hand cut mix for me (excluding the Swiss, because they only had that trio of cheese left for sale) I also got some fancy horseradish cheddar, caramelized onion cheddar, and a Gouda! They had smoked cheeses, blue cheeses, and many imported cheese to choose from!

An absolute must at Reading Terminal Market. A fine collection of meats, cheeses, and pickles for incredibly affordable prices! The staff were lovely and attentive and made the whole purchasing experience easy and personalized. While Reading Terminal Market can get incredibly busy, Riehl feels like it is in the perfect spot to afford the crowds and noise.

Extremely helpful with choosing the cheese I wanted. Excellent service and SO many incredible options! You've gotta see for yourself!

Riehl's Deli Located in the Reading Terminal which I visited to buy some cheese. They have a wide variety of selections too numerous to name all of them. They set out cubed samples of about 4 or 5 variety on Saturdays. They also have pre-sliced deli meats so no long wait lines. Very customer friendly and eager to assist you. I really enjoy this shop!!

We have been Saturday morning regulars at this shop for years, stocking up on our lunch meats and cheeses for the following work week. They do not use preservatives so you do not get traces of the salty taste that you find in most supermarket deli meats. Rebecca behind the counter is always very friendly and helpful. We recommend their honey ham, white or yellow cooper sharp cheese, and garlic cheese spread.

They have a massive collection of deli meats and cheese all conveniently perfectly and thinly sliced.

We are enjoying our butter cheese and farmer's cheese, purchased at Reading Terminal while we visited Philadelphia. Great pricing!

I used to get luncheon meats at the supermarket until I got wise and started getting it from Riehl Deli. It's always fresh, tasty and the service comes with a smile - every time! This is now my regular place to get meats for my mother to have her deli sandwiches. Yummy!

The only issue I had with Riehl's was deciding which cheeses to try! Cheese is a weakness and knew I was going to leave with a couple different items since the prices were so reasonable. The attendant was helpful and suggested a few different sharp cheddar options (my preference) and also advised of a few popular picks. Gotta love that there's some samples to try on a table between the meats and cheeses. I ended up with a Chianti cream cheese, raw milk sharp cheddar and another sharp cheddar. My friend works near Reading Terminal and was also impressed with the selection and affordability. Riehl's is going to be her spot to pick up cheeses when she has an office gathering and needs to bring an appetizer to share.

I bought a pack of smoked sun-dried tomato cream cheese today and I cannot overlook its wonderful taste and its flavorfulness; however, when I was finished with eating it, I noticed there were two labels attached to the package one of which was covered under the other. I got curious to see what is the other label, so I removed the one on the top. Unbelievably, it showed me that the package was packed on November 5th, and had to be sold by December 4th, 2020. Whereas the newer label shows December 16th as the packing date and Jan 14th as the selling date! Now I wonder if there is any preservative in it that it has remained this delicious or if they have put so much of additional substances that has covered the old cheese taste.

I bought the lightly salted butter and the sharp cheddar cheese. Both were really good The woman working there knew nothing and was rude and unhelpful. She acted annoyed I wanted to buy a couple of items. I'm bummmed reading the other reviews stating they were offered free samples because that would have helped me a lot and I probably would have bought more I asked her a few questions about the cheese. And she shrugged her shoulders. It was awful. I finally said I'm a tourist, and I'd like to buy whatever is most popular. She said I don't know what anyone buys or where the cheese is from and ..........she was an idiot Other than that, ha ha, I liked what I bought but I bought blindly.

Boy, do I love this place or what. In an attempt to keep my lunches healthy and easy, with little to no preparation time, deli meats to make sandwiches was the first thing to pop into my head and that sure did meet the criteria! My sister and I both tend to be a little picky with deli meat, so when she recommended I check out Riehl's in Reading Terminal, I knew I could take her word for it. I stopped in one day during my usual walk through Reading Terminal and was shocked to see just how many they have to offer. From turkey, to chicken, to ham, to beef... they have just about everything! A fantastic selection of good quality deli meats for a very reasonable price. After spending awhile debating on what to get, the super friendly lady behind the counter asked me if I wanted to sample anything. Whaaat! Yes, they give very decent sized samples before purchase! So appreciate that! Although everything I have tried has been great, my newest favorite is the pepper and garlic turkey. Delicious and perfectly seasoned. I also like the Buffalo chicken for a bit of a kick! I have made this deli a necessity to stop at when in Reading Terminal and definitely intent on keeping it that way!

This place is pretty great!! Not only can I pick up a variety of neatly thin (almost ribbon like) cuts of various lean meats and Swiss cheese, I can also grab many different types of really interesting wedges of cheese, creamy spreads, butters and dips for entertaining. Some even laced with champagne. Ummm heck yea! That screams party! This busy Mama is always looking for places that not only make my life easier, but make me look good as well. A big ole hoagie with these meats towering or presenting a charcuterie plate with the cheese from here does just that. Not to mention they sell meat ends here for $2/lb ensuring all of the meat eaters I know, including my pup are completely satisfied when I leave here! You can even choose which types of meat ends you would like, be it turkey, pork or beef etc. Hubs thoroughly enjoyed the honey turkey which is said to be among their most popular, as well as the garlic and peppered turkey and thin cut Swiss. Jax our pomchi pup loved all of the meat ends. He wasn't picky :) If you are grabbing deli meats here, a trip just down the way to Market Bakery for a nice crispy ciabatta or buttery brioche will complement this stop perfectly! Again, easy! Prices were pretty reasonable. Quality was top notch. Friendly service with a smile. A great stop in Reading Terminal Market! I highly recommend grabbing something to bring back home for the week and especially if you're having company!! You won't be disappointed!

Wow is all I can say. What have I been eating all of my life? Clearly NOT quality cheese! I was surprised by a friend with the merlot cheese from here and it was awesome! Different, but in a great way. Price-wise, I feel if this cheese was in NYC, it def would be pricier! Cheese (regular cheese located in your supermarket) is expensive, so to pay this for quality cheese is great. I was reading other flavors they have and have come to the conclusion I'm driving from NYC to this market in the very near future. Truly can't wait to try other stuff from here! HIGHLY suggest stopping here if you are in the area or market! Oh, and to my fellow yelper that wrote the review spending $36, darling, I now understand why. You are not alone! lmao!

My favorite part about visiting the reading terminal is sampling the cheeses at this shop! I first fell in love with their steak and onion cheese. I purchased that along with bacon cheddar cheese curds, garlic cheese curds and a garlic cheddar cube. All of the cheeses were reasonably priced. Check out their special of the day, which is much cheaper than their other cheese and surely flavorful. Make sure you go here early on a Saturday. Unfortunately they are not open on Sundays.

Grab a ticket and wait for your number to be called. They are pretty fast and always greet you with a smile. The quality of their deli meats and cheese are amazing!! If you don't know what you want or want to taste something before you buy it, they happily oblige. You can pay with cash or card. I love that the meats and cheese already come in ziplock bags! I come here almost weekly to grab what I need to make sandwiches for lunch and the meat is always fresh and delicious and stays that way throughout the week. Highly recommend checking them out.

Best cheese in the entire world!! I mean who else makes Strawberry Cabernet, Merlot, Champagne Cheddar and endless other delicious flavors of cheese? Not only are the Pennsylvania Dutch master bakers but apparently they're master cheese makers too. I got to Reading Terminal about 5 minutes before they closed and they young guy that was helping me was so nice, not one time did he rush me. In fact, he let me sample as many cheeses as I wanted and I didn't even know that they were closing until the girls started to turn the lights off on the other side of the deli. I apologized and he said it was ok but I still felt really bad for keeping him late. Well it was to their benefit because I ended up spending $36 on cheese!! I know it's a lot to spend on cheese but when you try the Strawberry Chardonnay and the Merlot you'll understand. And plus, I don't live in Philly so I needed some to take home.

Once, and only once, did I ever find cheese curds for sale in Philadelphia before finding Riehl's in Reading Terminal. I searched high and low all to no avail. Now once a month I've picked up half a pound of cheese curds to use in my now genuine Poutine. The curds are fresh, and I've had other things from Riehl's that are good. If cheese curds were available everywhere Riehl's would get four stars, but being that they seem to be the only folks this side of Lancaster County that offers curds, they are receiving five stars from a guy who is happy to now have a steady supply of curds!

Great selection of quality cheeses and lunchmeat at low prices. When I discovered this deli I started kicking myself for wasting so much money on cheese and lunchmeat over the years. But thankfully those days have been over for a few years now. This is the place to go to for your cheese and lunchmeat needs.

I couldn't resist the thinly sliced deli meats in the display case. - Buffalo style chicken breast: very thin yet moist, great buffalo flavor, probably mg favorite - Pepper and garlic turkey: thinly sliced, well seasoned; again, not dry - Rare roast beef: I got this because it really did look rare to medium rare; unfortunately, it was very under-seasoned, but it was tender and good with mustard I liked their variety and appreciated that nothing was dry despite super thin slices. You can tell it's quality meat, and prices are very reasonable. Bonus: everyone who worked behind the counter dressed the part in Pennsylvania Dutch outfits.

First of all we got a really good deal here coming for cheese spreads, buy two get one free. I personally got the blueberry cream cheese, which I have never seen anywhere else. So great so creamy and so rich with blueberrys it didn't even last to the end of the day I was just spreading it on everything it was so good. I cannot remember the others that were purchased as the person I was with got those two, but I can vouch for the blueberry, and I'm sure everything else is just as amazing. Places was clean staff was friendly and very quick totally worth checking out!

Best deli in Reading Terminal. They are very fast and helpful. The cold cuts and cheeses are always fresh. They have a wide variety of meats and cheese for a very reasonable price. They have daily specials where you can purchase certain cold cuts and/or cheese at a fraction of the price. I highly recommend.

Best selection of cheese I've ever seennnnn! And unbelievablelyyyyy affordable... Years aged manchego, irish porter cheddar, bricks of amish butter, port wine, horseradish cream cheese, pink champagne cheese... and everything in between from the basics to exotics. The ladies are all very polite and helpful, and I still cant believe I can get a huge brick of butter and 3-4 different big blocks of cheese for under $20. Love this place, strongly recommend it.

I haven't tried many things here but one thing that I always get is the Cajun crab dip. It's delicious. I have gotten it to take to parties, tailgates and sometimes just to enjoy at home-- always a crowd pleaser. I can't wait to try other things!

I am in love with this place. I discovered it last month and became amazed at all the different cheese and cream cheese options! I have tried the strawberry and it was really good. Today I took a risk guys! I got the honey sweet cream cheese..... I want these people to live with me and make me jars of cream cheese. I just cant deal. There was so many options to choose from like champagne, pineapple, and bacon. I mean come on! BACON CREAM CHEESE. I also usually get the peppered turkey and garlic cheese for lunch. The quality of the meat is great. They can have all my coins.

I have only gotten to buy cheese here a few times, but have been super impressed with the quality and price of the cheese I get at Riehl. I also love that they offer a very nice variety of cheeses and condiments that I presume they make themselves. I intend to stop by here more often and try out their deli meats as they always seem to be calling my name when I'm perusing their stand. And of course, I need to give a shout out to how super friendly the staff is that works here.

My sister took me and the rest of the family to the market when I went to visit her in PA. OMG the cheese here is absolutely delicious and the staff was pretty friendly! We've tried the Brie, Merlot Bellavitano, Butter Cheese, Wasabi Cheese, and the Chocolate Cheese...they were all so good! I can't wait to come back to get some more :)

So they were out with crab salad with wheat thins giving them out as samples, it was vrty good I decided to buy te large crab salad brought it home and my husband loves it as well. Will definitely be back

I used this as a cheese store the other day and I was favorably impressed.The selection of cheese is interesting and reasonably priced.I purchased a purportedly 8 year cheddar and a white Stilton with blueberries.The cheddar was quite good. The other cheese was also good.However I think it was mislabeled.It certainly wasn't what I would consider Stilton.Actually that's not meant as a complaint.I didn't look like Stilton and I never thought it was.It looked like farmer cheese with berries which was what I was looking for.( and perhaps it should be labeled as such).

One of the girls that works there has an attitude and a half, but the cheese is the best I've ever had; and that's really saying something considering I drive from NYC to Philly to stock up on it! The Salumeria and Meltkraft (in RTM) don't even come close!!
