We spent the last four nights of our Summer 2024 Kazakhstan trip in Astana, at the Ritz-Carlton Astana, and had a phenomenal time. As one should expect from a Ritz-Carlton, it is a beautiful hotel, very well-run, with excellent service amend amenities. The rooms are very attractive, stylish, and comfortable, and of pretty good size overall. We had a corner room, which included a separate wardrobe area and separate entryway. The room had nice lighting options, and nice floor-to-ceiling windows giving nice views of the city. The bathroom was large, very nice, and had excellent fixtures, shower, plus a tub, etc. We opted for a less expensive room on this occasion, so did not have one with a clear view of Baiterek Tower, but we had great views anyway, including towards Kahn Shatyr, and we could just see Baiterek, anyway. Our daughter's was similar, but slightly smaller, with a different view. ||Service was impeccable throughout the hotel, very professional, attentive, and friendly. The indoor pool and spa area is lovely, with excellent changing room with showers, lockers, spa slippers, etc.||The dining options are very nice. The main breakfast place, Mokki, is excellent, attractive, and has an outstanding breakfast buffet, although breakfast was not included with the room. The other places to eat include the nice Ozen at the lobby area, which has a small semi-outdoor area as well; the Mokki Terrace, which is for dinner and nightclub atmosphere, on an outdoor terrace upstairs, and which has some good views towards Baiterek; and a nice restaurant on the top floor, which has two different seating areas, one with a view towards Baiterek. Food and drinks were very good. ||The location is excellent. It is at the heart of the "new" city built after Astana was made the capital, across the street from the square with Baiterek Tower and the pedestrianised Nur Zhol Blvd. It is further from other sights in the city, especially the older part o the city, but it was close enough still to other parts of the new city like Khan Shatyr, that we easily walked back to the hotel from Khan Shatyr, down Nur Zhol. We also easily got cars to drive us to and from other areas further away. |Additionally, after we arrived in the north via train from Almaty, we first picked up our rental car here before driving around the northern part of the country and returning to stay here. We found it easy to drive out of the city from here and fairly easy to drive back to the hotel from outside the city. ||The hotel, like many things in Astana, is fairly new. It is in excellent condition, and for this level of service and amenities, the price was very reasonable. ||We would gladly stay here again.
