The 17 Best Hotels in Berlin

"A recent renovation has brought a fresh, modern look to this five-star property, while its renowned white-glove service remains impeccable. Entry-level Deluxe Rooms are plenty spacious, measuring a generous 430 square feet, but it’s worth trading up to a Deluxe View Room for fantastic views overlooking Potsdamer Platz. The elegant sandstone tower fits right in with the neighboring skyscrapers on bustling Potsdamer Platz, and is a short stroll to the Holocaust Memorial, the Brandenburg Gate, and Tiergarten park's 519 acres of tree-lined paths and flowering gardens." - Jennifer Ceaser, Liz Humphreys

The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin

"Why book? This five-star property, long known for its impeccable white-glove service, has a fresh look that nods to 1920s Berlin. Set the scene This elegant sandstone tower fits right in with the neighboring skyscrapers on bustling Potsdamer Platz. Step inside a space ensconced in gleaming marble, from the intricately patterned floors to the sweeping staircase, with contemporary furnishings and Art Deco touches for a modern feel. Suit-and-tie business travelers during the week give way to well-heeled leisure guests come weekends, while Roaring 20s-inspired The Curtain Club draws a mix of affluent tourists and locals. The backstory Originally opened in 2004, the Ritz-Carlton Berlin completed a 40-million-euro renovation in 2019, with a full reimagining of the common areas and rooms. Gone are the stuffy traditional décor and heavy wood furnishings that had dominated much of the hotel, and in its place is a seamless contemporary design inspired by the glam Berlin of the 1920s. The rooms Redesigned rooms and suites feature a sophisticated palette of light golds and deep purples, with contemporary, curvaceous sofas and desks, subtle nods to Art Deco in the geometric-patterned rugs, and chrome and mirrored accents. The plush king-size feather beds are marvelously comfy, and touchscreen bedside panels let you conveniently control electronics and lighting. Big marble bathrooms have double sinks, oversized tubs, separate showers, heated floors, and Asprey toiletries. Entry-level Deluxe Rooms are plenty spacious, measuring a generous 430 square feet, but it’s worth trading up to a Deluxe View Room for fantastic views overlooking Potsdamer Platz. For even more exclusivity, the 42 Club Level rooms and suites on the 10th and 11th floors offer 24-hour access to a lounge with panoramic city vistas, complimentary food and drink, and a private concierge. Food and drink POTS serves up well-prepared German cuisine with a contemporary twist. Opt for the four-course Chef’s Choice menu for the best sampling. The sommelier focuses on German sustainable winegrowers with an emphasis on Riesling and Pinot Noir. The mixologists at The Curtain Club whip up excellent 1920s-style cocktails; The Curtain Clover Club, with gin, raspberry, and egg white, is especially delicious. During the summer months, the action moves outside to a private hidden garden—reservations are essential. The neighborhood/area Surrounded by glassy skyscrapers, giant shopping malls, and touristy restaurants, Potsdamer Platz isn’t what you’d call scenic. But what the area lacks in charm, it more than makes up for with a central location—a short stroll to many museums and major attractions, including the Holocaust Memorial and the Brandenburg Gate. Just behind the hotel is Tiergarten park, with 519 acres of tree-lined paths, open green spaces, flowering gardens, ponds, and lakes. The service Top-notch service is what Ritz-Carlton has built its reputation on, and the Berlin outpost is no exception. Professional, polished staff can handle any request, from restaurant booking to limo hire. For families Families can easily be accommodated, with rollaway beds, cribs, or connecting rooms with dual twin beds. If you want to stay all together in one space, you’ll need to book the pricey two-bedroom Ritz-Carlton Suite, or the three-bedroom penthouse. Accessibility All common spaces and most rooms are accessible; the hotel has self-operating elevators and sloped entry. Anything left to mention? Don’t miss the live soul or jazz concerts on selected nights at The Curtain Club." - Jennifer Ceaser

Just completed a 3 night stay and cannot recommend the property highly enough. My customer experience began with a disruption I experienced on my travels prior to arrival. The hotel's manager, Magdalena, went above and beyond to accommodate me and ensure my room was prepared based on my preferences on arrival. Gabriel at the front desk was excellent, as was Anthony who always greeted me with a warm smile upon arrival. I had many questions for the concerige, and Tabea provided thoughtful answers and great tips. ||The rooms are beautiful, well maintained, extremely quiet, and very clean. The bath amenities are top notch and the spa facilities were very nice. Location is excellent being right in the center of the city and across the street from the Potsdamer Platz metro station. ||Can't wait to return!

We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Berlin at the end of a five-month trip through Europe and Egypt, and what Tommy Wobbe did for us was unlike anything we’ve experienced before.||He reached out before we arrived and showed genuine interest in our journey. When we got to the room — which, by the way, was absolutely gorgeous (easily the most beautiful and glamorous room we’ve stayed in — spotlessly clean and in a perfect location) — we were completely blown away.||Tommy had prepared a full table featuring food from each country we visited, paired with framed photos of each flag and a personalised handwritten message for every place. I honestly teared up. The effort and thought behind it were unbelievable. It wasn’t just a nice welcome — it felt personal, meaningful, and heartfelt. ||We’ve had welcome gifts and champagne before at other hotels, but this went way beyond that. It showed real care, effort, sincerity, and thoughtfulness. Tommy made the end of our long trip feel like something truly special — something we’ll remember forever.||We’ll absolutely be back — not just because the hotel room and location were stunning, but because of the lasting impact Tommy had on us. He goes beyond hospitality — this is genuine human kindness. He’s a superstar.||Thank you, Tommy. You’ve left a mark on us.

The hotel looks refined at first glance but is actually quite chaotic. Check-in took far too long with staff endlessly restarting the system. Despite asking not to be disturbed, housekeeping still knocked on the door. The real disappointment was the breakfast room: staff were cold, unwelcoming, and selectively rude. One brought the wrong drink and blamed me, another snatched the menu before I finished ordering. Neither acknowledged any “thank you.” Overall, an unpleasant and unprofessional experience. On the second day, we unfortunately had another unpleasant experience during breakfast. What makes the situation even worse is that it has now been four days since I sent a formal complaint email to the hotel, and I have still received no response. This kind of disregard is truly shocking. It gives the impression that perhaps Asian guests are simply not valued by this hotel (highlight this concern)

This was my wife’s and my first stay at a RC, and wow, what an experience! Staff were universally kind and helpful, lounge by the lobby was a great atmosphere with very interesting cocktails, and the room was beautiful and large. Two things I would improve: 1. update hinges on the toilet seat/lid so they don’t slam down and echo around that marble bathroom. 2. A/C could be stronger; had it on min temp max fan and still had to pull the covers aside a couple times overnight. I would happily return, especially as we didn’t have the chance to try the brunch this visit 😊😊

The hotel is in a very good location, the welcoming at the door is outstanding and the room service is great (Omar was helpful). However, the reception treatment was below average and the duty manager was arrogant. I had an issue with the phone at the room and it was making noise all night (there was no engineer to fix it at that time), and the thermostat at the shower wasn’t working properly (it was flipping between boiling hot and cold suddenly while taking a shower), and even though it was a major safety issue, again the duty manager wasn’t professional at handling the situation. (Thanks to Alex from maintenance that fixed them) Rooms must maintained better to avoid wasting the guests time (specially at a luxury hotel as the Ritz Carlton).

Google
Solid service and a very good location. The lounge offered really very good snacks including sushi, and definitely one of the better lounges. Rooms spacious and quiet. Main restaurant had a good selection of local cuisine, but I didn't realise until the last night that they had an additional more international menu, so do ask for that also.

So far the best hotel I have stayed this year. The front desk staff and concierge staff are very helpful. Concierge staff always wearing a smile on their face and they are fun! Thank you to Taebea and Emo (sorry I may forgot the spelling of their names). They made my day there. Good location and very convenient to access to subway as well. The guest room is very nice and well maintained. Room service staff is friendly. I would say they have the best banquet team there as they are always very responsive to clients’ needs. No doubt it is “Ritz Carlton” ☺️👍🏼

From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. Check-in was incredibly fast and efficient—they even came to greet us at the car, took care of our luggage, and ensured a seamless arrival experience. Despite arriving before the official check-in time, they provided us with a room immediately and prioritized getting the rest of our group’s rooms ready as soon as possible. You can always tell a hotel’s quality by the small details, and The Ritz-Carlton Berlin exceeds expectations. The public restrooms have real towels for drying your hands, a true mark of luxury. The amenities by Diptyque were a clear sign that our stay was going to be outstanding. The hotel offers a 24-hour gym, and the spa facilities—including the sauna and steam room—have fantastic hours, open from 6 AM until midnight. Everything was impeccably clean, and the entire experience felt elevated. Breakfast was simply spectacular, with top-tier quality evident in every bite. The hotel is spotless, and the attention to detail in service is unmatched. A special mention to the wonderful person from the turndown service (the gentleman with one hand) who was incredibly kind and thoughtful. Every staff member was attentive and professional, from the front desk to the bellhops. An exceptional stay. I would absolutely return!

Yelp
Great location, beautifully designed rooms and the amazing hospitality Ritz is known for. Highly recommended for your next stay in Berlin with great points redemption options via Marriott Bonvoy account!! Thank you for a wonderful stay in BER!!

Yelp
The worst 5-star hotel we have ever stayed. The coffee machine in the suite broke down twice, the bottles of water was impossible to twist open ( you will have to shake it to open it but no explanation for it), the food in the executive room was tasteless. During our stay, the Real Madrid soccer team were also staying there but they were partying out loud until 3:00 AM waking us up! AVOID THIS HOTEL.

Yelp
Pop the Champagne! A lovely stay I had at the Ritz in Berlin. A modern hotel with the glamorous Roaring 20s Art Deco theme decor. Each Request Met! Impeccable was the service from the doormen, registration desk, waitstaff, maids, to their genuine 24/7 concierges. Plush Room! Plenty of drawers and closets. Great lighting and Wi-Fi. Spacious bathroom with deep tub and powerful shower room. Memorable Meals! Massive and delicious were Ritz's breakfasts. And, it was here that I had my first surprisingly incredible Currywurst. CHEERS!

Yelp
Short version: excellent staff, literally across a small street to big train station. Very clean rooms, rates seem to be lower then other ritz in other big cities. Large for Europe standard rooms Where do I start? From the moment I stepped out of my uber from the airport the doorman quickly greeted me and offered to take my luggage and opened the big entry door. I was a bit early for check in and the front desk already had my room ready. They offered me water, fresh squeezed oj st check in. The room. I booked my room via amex fine hotels and resorts, so they gave me an upgraded room with a better view. The room is normal size for usa and very big for europe. The hotel was built in the 90s and while it's showing its age, the room was extremely clean and well-maintained. How clean? I even ran my finger over the pictures hanging up and there was no dust built up. The wall outlets even had the USA standard 110 plug in addition to the eu standard in case you forgot your convertor. And lo and behold a tub! Something that is very rare in European hotels unless you book suites. They even had bath salts to use. The room also had the robes, slippers, available to use. When I arrived in Germany I had an injury from earlier in my trip. The concierge arranged for me to see a local doctor which helped since I don't speak any German. They also gave me a map and helped me optimize what I wanted to see. When I saw the doctor the next day the concerige that helped me asked if it went good and how I felt. Overall I really like this hotel, the location cant be beat. It's literally dead center of the city and near a lot of tourist sites. The train station helps you get around the city easily of you don't use car services. The staff were genuinely helpful and friendly and quick to do anything you might need from them. This isn't the newest ritz I've been to, but I would detour to berlin just for this hotel. I will review the restaurant and lounge separately. Excellent and recommended!

Yelp
Summary: Good, but needs improvement for a 5 star experience. We stayed in a suite (bedroom, living space, full bathroom plus separate 1/2 bath) with Club privileges on the 8th floor with a view of the Sony Center. The Bayern Munich Football team was staying there while we were there, but we didn't hear them. First the good: --several staff members are outstanding. Mandeep in the club room made us feel very special and gave outstanding, professional service. Esezi the doorman was wonderful as well. --the bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed having our choice of foam or feather pillows without asking. The water bottles were replaced each day. --The club room, especially the breakfast, was very good. The breakfast had a really good selection plus delicious made to order eggs and omelets. (Fantastic poached eggs.) In general it wasn't crowded, it was well run, and felt very welcoming. --The location was great: close to several tasty yet reasonably priced restaurants, and right next to the S bahn and a U bahn line to get to everywhere in the city. It was easily walkable to many major sights, including the Brandenburg Gate, the Gemädegalerie, the Neues Museum, the Tiergarden, Topography of Terror, the Holocaust Memorial, and more. --The staff seemed to want to help, or to fix issues. The issues: --There was a big bleach footprint on the bedroom carpet. At this level of hotel it's not reasonable to have such an obvious stained carpet in a bedroom. We didn't complain as there was nothing that could be done at short notice. --The first two nights the bedroom was very warm and could not be made cooler by lowering the thermostat. You could turn down the temperature on the thermostat, but nothing happened. We asked for it to be fixed both the first and second mornings and it was finally better after the second night. (The street noise is too loud to just keep the window open.) --One of the sinks in the bathroom didn't drain. This was fixed the first morning, but it was puzzling as the cleaning staff should have seen this issue when they cleaned before we arrived. --At some point the first morning when someone came in the room to fix the thermostat or the sink, a baggie with some coins and a €20 bill was taken. It clearly was not a tip, as it was in a baggie, in the midst of other items, and it was the first morning we had arrived. We should not have left it out of the safe, but when we mentioned the two issues that needed fixing, we did not know someone would be in our room that quickly (or consider they would look in our items). We just sadly decided that we had to be incredibly careful going forward as we did not know who would be in our room or what they would look through. --The cleaning staff was not up to R-C standards. There were some sticky spots (from where they must have spilled some bitter lemon we left in the room) right in front of the door that wasn't cleaned for two days; we finally mentioned it to the front desk staff, but only some of it was cleaned in the following two days. This made us wonder if the staff ever mopped the wooden floor portion of the room. The room and bathroom items were left in different locations each day. Sometimes our personal toiletry basket was moved to the tub and left there or our personal items moved unnecessarily. The water bottles were replaced but the glasses often weren't. Coffee saucers were never replaced. There were only two Kleenex left in the bathroom box on one of the days, so they immediately ran out. Only one bathroom was left with a spare toilet paper roll (glad we had a 1/2 bath to use!). We asked for extra hand towels by leaving a note in German the first three days, but forgot the fourth day--and didn't get them as no one remembered. --As I mentioned above, the staff we met, such as at the front desk and the concierge, seemed like they genuinely wanted to help. Snags just kept happening, though. First when we checked in they had lost the part of our reservation that showed we had reserved a Club access room. We were placed in a 4th floor room and then went back to the desk because we couldn't see how our key would allow us to go to the club floor (10th floor). We had to prove it to them with the email of our confirmation. They did move us to a different suite which was closer to the Club Room (to the 8th floor). When we asked the concierge the night before for the hotel car to take us to the train station in the morning--we were told it was free at that time. However, when we arrived, we were told by a different concierge that there was "no driver" and so wasn't possible. Luckily an Uber was only a few minutes away. Will we return? We're not sure. The value may not be worth it for all the issues. Unfortunately there aren't that many five star hotels in Berlin to choose from, and the club is still a plus for the R-C.

Yelp
The Ritz-Carlton Berlin is all things a luxury hotel should be: stylish, comfortable, clean, and with the highest quality of service. This hotel was the highlight hotel of my recent two-week trip that definitely featured hotel highs and lows. From the very beginning, RC wins because the location is amazing. Directly across from the Potsdamer Platz metro station, this is centrally located to anywhere you want to get in the city - or you can hop one of the many taxis that line up across the street. Brandenburger Tor, Unter den Linden, the Holocaust Memorial, and the Reichstag are all within easy walking distance. The doormen are wonderful and friendly, and unlike some other luxury properties we stayed at on our journey, they never gave us the side-eye for dressing casually in jeans and a hoodie. At check in, we received the highest level of service, including a personal escort to our room to show us the features and provide information. The room was perfection - clean, comfortable, and included everything we could need (and more!). There was a deep soaking tub separate from the shower that made for a luxurious soak on a particularly rainy October morning. While two twin beds seems to be the norm for a two-bed option at a European hotel, RC goes a step above with larger beds that are more comfortable. This was some of my best sleep of the trip! I would not hesitate to stay at this property again when in Berlin. It was top notch at every level.

Yelp
This hotel is an outpost of (American) luxury in the generally more "punk rock" Berlin, and I love it unashamedly. Attentive, impeccable service -- the doorman remembers your name, even after several months away, and all service interactions are efficient and friendly. The physical building is impressive and very well maintained, and in a beautiful art deco style. Location in Potsdamerplatz is convenient to transit and there is some shopping nearby, although it isn't my favorite neighborhood to actually do things. Beds are simultaneously supportive and cloudlike, sound insulation from the noisy outdoors is complete, and the bathrooms are large, beautiful (with an oversized tub and a separate rainfall shower, although the shower is not the largest), with large bottles of pretty high end Diptyque. There are a few hotels I love in Berlin and this is one of them.

Scott H.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel. Fantastic staff. Special shout out to the incredible security staff. While there with high profile guests, we were able to move around the property with ease. Special thanks to the help of Ugur Aktepe. A fine example of security with grace and professionalism!! Thanks again.

Yelp
I absolutely loved my stay here. We came for the marathon and we were blown away. We traveled with two small kids under 3 and they were very accommodating. The location is great. It's across from a train stop and steps from the Mall of Berlin. We would def stay again. The breakfast was amazing, too. We did have one day of our stay where a waitress at the breakfast was rude. But it seems it was just her. Everyone else was polite and friendly.

Yelp
This hotel was "recently" remodeled, although I'm not sure how long ago the work was completed. The rooms are large for European hotel rooms and are just like a proper bowl of porridge. Just right! The bathrooms are made up of a central area with a tub and sink. To one side are separate areas for the toilet and a shower. The hair dryer is in the center of the sink in a drawer. The hotel had minor work being done to the central staircase, but it was not a negative on the experience. There is a lounge in the main area that is open from 5 - 6, and then other dining and bar options that open in the evening. Breakfast is simple and satisfying. Register with the attendant and then enjoy a buffet with a variety of options. Service was slightly slow on the first day, but it was prompt on the subsequent days. There is a workout area in sublevel 1 (-1 on the elevator). There are a small number of weight stations and 3 treadmills. A very small pool is on the same level, but it's more for lounging than exercise. The hotel staff is excellent, especially the staff in the main lounge (5 - 6PM).

Yelp
I never thought I would give a 2 star rating for a Ritz! I was there for a short business trip and did not enjoy the hotel. The location is fine and it is right by the Mall of Berlin and pretty centrally located. My biggest complaint was the lack of noise insulation. I could barely sleep because of the loud whooshing (elevator?) and hammering (construction?) throughout the night. From that point on, I was just grumpy! The gym just OK, no barbells. I was there for 3 day and they did not replace the body lotion once. Their elevator was broken and we had to walk up a floor to take the elevator. That part by itself would have been totally fine but I was just annoyed with the hotel and service at that point.

Yelp
The Ritz-Carlton is a really nice, high end, swanky but not at all pretentious hotel in the heart of Berlin. It's conveniently located by all of the main attractions. The staff is very nice and attentive. The rooms are spacious and well stocked and comfortable. Super place to stay when in Berlin.
google avatar

Pattie L.

Yelp
Location is very central with a mall less than 5 minute walk. A Starbucks around the corner and major sites within 10 minutes walking distance. The staff is very accommodating and will appease any requests. Concierge can arrange transport as well. The rooms are clean, spacious and pretty much has everything you would need on a trip. My only little "complaint" is the heat even when cranked up doesn't really heat up the room. Plenty of dining in the hotel if you're not up to venture outside.

Yelp
I decided to stay here for a night because where else can you stay at a Rtiz-Carlton for a little over $200/a night? Probably in Asia (and probably less expensive than that), but anyway, I was on vacation, and you know what those youngins say, YOLO! Well they probably don't say that anymore because it's uncool to say that now. Anywho, everyone that I encountered there was so nice, from the staff at the front desk to the cleaning service people that I passed by in the hall. I was upgraded to the corner room, which had huge floor to ceiling windows. The room was very spacious, with an outdated iPhone dock (for those of you who still have an iPhone 4), and glass remote controlled lighting at each side of the bed. I really wish they had more outlets by the bed, because I like to plug in my phone to charge while I sleep. The bathroom had a corner shower and a tub, with a separate room for the toilet in case your poop really stinks. The bed was amazingly comfortable. After a day of travel, it was the highlight of my stay. I did however have trouble with the TV. I tried turning it on by simply pushing the red power button. I got my lazy butt up and pressed the power button on the TV itself. No luck there. I called for assistance, and in no time, a dude came up to check it out. It turns out that I had to press the "1" button first. AND THEN press the power button. AND THEN press the menu button to watch the TV. WHY, DUH!!! That was so intuitive; I apologize. It was the weirdest thing. Location is great, and is very centralized. It's just a few euros over 20 euros from TXL by taxi. The lobby ambiance and decor is very elegant and the rooms are clean and spacious. However, no 5 stars because I didn't get that special warm feeling in my crotch that warrants a 5 star rating, where the staff went above and beyond, or there was something in particular that wowed me. That, and then there was the bizarre TV ceremony I had to go through when turning it on.

Yelp
Stayed here a few months ago and LOVED it! Fantastic service, beautiful centrally located property, and the best breakfast buffet in town! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
The service was impeccable, and the stay was memorable. I've stayed at other Ritz Carlton around the world, but this one by far has been my favorite. We had a suite with multiple chandeliers, huge marble bathrooms with full bath and shower separately, walk in closet, kitchen, and a fireplace with a library. It was such a wonderful stay. The food and the drink bar downstairs was such a treat as well. Would highly recommend. :) This hotel is also super central to all the major sight seeing areas in Berlin so that was an extra perk. I will always be staying here from now on, on my visits to Berlin. :) thanks Ritz, for the #RSMemories!

Yelp
So we had a major crisis right before we checked in here. Air Berlin lost all our luggage! What a shame. We checked in at Ritz with only wallet and passport in our hands in a very bad mood. During out stay here, the staff went above and beyond to give us what we needed. We were basically in our "survival mode" and Ritz Carlton made us feel safe and comfortable during our vulnerable moments. LOL The concierge was very helpful in helping us find clothing stores, drugstores and etc. We had a wedding to go to on Sunday and I had no makeup or hair brush. I ran to MAC cosmetics to buy some makeup (which was the only store that was opened on Sunday along with Zara) and totally couldn't find a place to buy a hair brush. I called the concierge and they went and got me a hair brush for me in 15 minutes! Lifesaver! Not sure if I will return to Berlin anytime soon because of the bad experience with the airline but I'll definitely stay at Ritz Carlton more. Love!

Yelp
Long one of my favorite hotels anywhere. Surprised to find it recently underwent a total renovation. It's at the edge of the Tiergarten and on Potsdamer Platz, with the subway entrance at the front door. Within walking distance of the Brandenburg Gate. I don't eat or drink at the hotel, so I can only attest to its comfortable beds, good room service, and very helpful concierge service. Breakfast can be pricey, so I suggest eating at any of the many nearby cafes. Their suites are worth the premium if yours staying a few nights.

Yelp
Outstanding hotel. Service was impeccable. Loved my room and it's furnishings. Bathroom was beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay here (2nights on a business trip). I thought the location across the Sony Center was cool and liked the whole area. I did not get to try the pool/spa, but would imagine it would be top notch given the attention to details. I do sense this is a fairly corporate address for big events so would recommend you ask the hotel if there are major events happening that would cause you concern.

Yelp
The Ritz Carlton Berlin is located in the Potsdamer Platz and across the street from the Sony Center. The hotel is also conveniently located close to a metro station so exploring the city is an easy task. I booked the room through Virtuoso, whose benefits include an upgraded room based upon availability, 4:00 PM late-check out, breakfast daily at Brasserie Dubrosses, and Club access. Normally, Virtuoso benefits will include a $100 food or spa credit at Virtuoso properties, including those participating in the Virtuoso program, so having Club access is a bonus. An offer is usually made at Ritz Carlton properties to upgrade to having Club access for at least a $100 per day, so this is a bonus. As you approach the hotel, there are no less than three doormen to greet you. The front desk is to the right. Check-in was somewhat slow as the front desk agents take their time with each guest explaining all features of the hotel. I was immediately recognized as a Ritz Carlton Platinum member and all benefits were explained. I was upgraded to a Deluxe Room with a view overlooking Potsdamer Platz. Upon entering the room, the bathroom is located to the right. The bathroom is very large with a separate tub and shower. The toilet is enclosed with a glass door. There are two sinks with sufficient counter space. There are Ritz Carlton branded toiletries. There is a large free standing closet along the hallway that leads to the bedroom. Upon entering the bedroom, there is a luggage rack to the left along with a dresser, TV and coat hanger. There is a small glass surfaced desk with plenty of room for getting some work done. Next to the desk is a sitting area with ottoman and small coffee table. There was a welcome amenity of macarons, which were delicious and a half bottle of Moet champagne. The King bed comes with a ton of pillows and is super soft and extremely comfortable. The light controls are conveniently located right next to the bed. There ample outlets in the room which makes charging all electronic gadgets very easy. The air conditioner is not the best, as the room never got very cool. Based upon my experience, this seems to be the norm in Europe. The Club is spacious with several booths and tables along with a lounging area. The Club attendants are pleasant and there to help. The food offerings are not great unfortunately. Sandwiches often contained hard and stale bread, as if they had been sitting out for a while. There was usually one hot option such as soup. The quality and quantity of food was definitely not enough to make a meal. The breakfast buffet (38 Euros) at Brasserie Dubrosses was large and had many choices. Hot options included eggs benedict, pancakes, French Toast, bacon, sausage, beans and an omelet station. There are a wide variety of meats, smoked fish, and cheese, along with a plethora of different fruit and more bread choices than many bakeries. Other options included yogurt, pastries and museli. Given its convenient location and service, I would definitely stay here again if traveling to Berlin. Although I don't think the Club access is worth it if having to pay, booking through Virtuoso is almost a must given the great benefits.

Yelp
The hotel website says the RC Berlin's interior is inspired by the Art Deco era but hailing from Munich, I was heartened to see that they have instead lifted a substantial chunk of King Ludwig's Bavaria, kitsch and all! There's no Art Deco here. Of course I felt immediately at home-we all live in homes like this in Bavaria. It didn't hurt that the staff were gracious and welcoming and the bubbly in the Club lounge was free-flowing. Service fit for a king (or queen). Ludwig would be proud!

Yelp
5 stars for sure. What a place. They are warm and welcoming. Very attentive. Nothing is a trouble. Lovely room and accommodation. Fitness center very small but do able if you need to move while here. It was very cold out so if you are an outdoor exerciser this will be nice. The room was clean. The bed and comforter were comfortable. Free wifi in lobby and business center. Fine for me. I had bought a SIM that allowed Internet for 1 EU/day on my unlocked phone too. Location: Potzdammer Platz Staff: Jennifer, Alexandra, Philip (restaurant), Rita (restaurant) all made me feel like family everytime I was there. I LOVED the doormen esp the night ones!! Service: Impeccable. If I get back to Berlin I can only hope I get to stay here!

Yelp
Great location, your 5-15 min for everything in any direction. Hotel staff is great especially the assistant manager Felix! We were there for 2 weeks, I got sick with a cold the first few days and Felix upgraded us and we had a nice suite which was great, so I could sleep in the bedroom while my husband worked in the living room. The food is very good, especially breakfast!!! Will absolutely stay there next time we are in Berlin.

Yelp
This is my 2nd time staying here, (both times five nights). I am a gold member of the Ritz, and it (should) come with some perks, for example, late checkout, free upgrade, etc. First stay; September 2017. At check-in, I asked for an upgrade, and they say NO! sorry. (even if my status offers that) also for the late checkout they said NO! (all I needed is three more hours), also they had construction and the hotel was extremely noisy and no amenities available, (no pool, spa...). Second stay; March - April 2018. So you ask if you had a bad experience why you go back? Good question, I figured last time the construction was the cause, after all its the Ritz-Carlton and it should be good. WRONG! Construction is still going on, and this time it's on the lower level (I guess). No elevator from the lobby/hotel entrance, you need to climb the stairs to the 2nd floor and take the elevator from there. Here is another problem with that, you take the stairs to the 2nd floor, go in the elevator, while in the elevator you have to use your keys to push your floor button, the key doesn't work! You have to go down again ask for the new key, go up to the 2nd floor and try. THIS HAPPENS AT LEAST TWICE A DAY! For my "Free" upgrade they asked for another 170 euro per night. Club level - they have three times during the day that they have appetizers and snack food, (breakfast, lunch & dinner - about 3-hour window each) they usually take the food and drinks 40-30 minutes before they supposed to. One last thing, the people at the front desk (not all of them but most) are very cold and kind of mean. If you need something ask the concierge or doormen, they are extremely friendly.

Yelp
The staff were absolutely incredible. From Terry the bellman to the fabulous receptionists, I was treated so kindly after a very trying day. The receptionist upsold me on breakfast, only for us to realise I was going to miss it due to a very early departure. She simply switched it to a takeaway lunch box, which was waiting for me at Reception the following morning. The other receptionist walked me to my taxi, and even out my luggage into the car - the driver was impressed! It was a wonderful stay and I loved every minute.

Yelp
Worst Ritz I have ever stayed in , construction on both sides and above my room. And they have been instructed to not move out rooms. We have 20 rooms here and this will be the last time I ever stay at a Ritz outside the US again ... thanks a lot Ritz , you have let me down yet again

Yelp
We had a superb stay at this very classy hotel, conveniently located steps away from the U-Bahn, the 200 Bus (to the Museum Island) and to the Mall of Berlin. Our Ritz Rewards Card enabled us to get a double upgrade to a lovely and spacious room on the 10th floor Club level. For the price of a standard room we had all the amenities of the wonderful Club lounge with breakfast, and all day and all night snacks and drinks. The hotel staff were all amazing, from the doormen, the front desk staff, and concierge, to the Club lounge staff, and the room cleaning personnel. Really wonderful, helpful, friendly, and professional. We had to stay longer than we expected because of the blizzard back in New York, and the staff accommodated us very well, letting us stay in our great room. Special thanks to the wonderful staff in the Club Lounge: Kevin Ogle was so amazingly friendly and helpful. His staff of Matiju, Victor, Alexandra, and Lola were also great.

Yelp
The Ritz. These folks do hotels right... service, rooms, food, you get the idea. Despite the posh setting, they made us feel totally at home whether it was just me in business gear -- or wearing shorts and with 3 kiddies in tow. Central location in Potzdamer Platz was ideal for both business purposes and a few days of touristing around by foot and U-Bahn. Call and ask for pre-pay rates (i.e., you pay in advance, so no cancellations). I think we paid 159 euro per night; a relative steal considering where you are.

Yelp
Probably one of the last Ritz Carlton's left that is truly a 5-star hotel. Everything is just what you would expect it to be -- clean, comfortable, spacious, "Old School" in a good way, with an extremely courteous and helpful staff. Rooms were big and comfortable. Close to lots of great restaurants and "attractions." You can walk anywhere... but we rented bikes right from the hotel and biked around the city. I'd recommend that for the adventures. While I havent stayed at every hotel in Berlin, I'm pretty certain it is one of the best. Would I stay here again? Absolutely.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with amazing staff, bars, and restaurants! We came here on a business trip for a screening, and we could not have had a better experience at a hotel. The staff were all extremely friendly, kind, and full of good recommendations for seeing the city. Great location too - we were right next to the Sony Center with plenty of bars and restaurants. There is also an IMAX theater there, as well as the Filmhaus Museum. There were also landmarks and the Mall of Berlin nearby for shopping. The fragrance bar was also really cool to see - you smell different fragrances and when you choose the one you like the best - they make you a drink that tastes just like it! The bar is also gorgeous with upscale decor, but still has a casual and relaxed vibe to it. The brasserie had a delicious breakfast. Great eggs Benedict made to order by friendly chefs who always had a smile for us! The door men were all really fun to talk to as well! It was actually sad for us to say good bye to all our new friends at this gorgeous and fun hotel. Couldn't have had a better stay!

Yelp
When in Berlin and looking for the one of the best hotel options, The Ritz-Carlton offers the best in European hospitality, although at a high price. The rooms are spacious and well kept and the rest of hotel does not disappoint. In addition, its centeral location in Potsdamer Platz (near the center of the city and steps from the former Berlin Wall) makes this a fantastic option for those there for business as well as those looking to see the sights. My one complaint is that lack of free internet. Considering you are paying 400 Euros per night, it does not seem irrational to think that this should be provided to guests for free.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, great service. The have an excellent English tea service and even encourage you to sniff samples of the tea prior to making your selection. This Ritz really brings you back to the classier times of great hotels. The best part is that if you pay in advance (no cancelling), the rate is unbelievable. Location of Potsdamer Platz is very central in Berlin and walking distance to checkpoint Charlie, the gate, government buildings and right across the street from a shopping plaza.

Yelp
What a beautiful hotel! Service is superior! Food is great. Late night bar with great food, music! Great way to end a long business trip. The morning breakfast is full of anything you desire! Please enjoy this hotel!

Yelp
Wonderful location, beautiful rooms, fantastic restaurants and very courteous staff. No posh pretense, just a classy hotel. An oasis of calm in the middle of busy Berlin. It is a short walk to the U2 and S-Bahns which will take you anywhere in the city. If you're up for the walk and the weather is good, then enjoy a ten minute stroll to the Brandenburg Gate or Tiergarten and a 15 minute walk to Friedrichstrasse via Unter den Linden. Almost all of the big tourist attractions are accessible by foot from this hotel.

Yelp
Let's start with PLUS: Phenomenal staff. Great location. Super breakfast buffet. MISS: Under construction. Bedding awful, long overdue for replacement (read, sleeping in pudding)

Yelp
I stayed at the Ritz Berlin in September 2019 for three days. This was my first time staying at the chain. It was all that I expected and more. The location here is walking distance to all of the tourist stops. They exceeded my expectations when I left my backpack there with my keys, and they shipped it via UPS free of charge. Thank you so much. You have a customer in me.

Yelp
My review is for the lobby, staff, and bar experience only. I did not stay in a room here. Very friendly staff from the outside to the wait staff at the bar. An alchemist works as bartender so their cocktail list of interesting concoctions is quite impressive. Be sure to arrive just before 6pm for quite a special happening. The music here is great too and not what you'd expect by the slightly old boy's club interior.

Yelp
Lovely place. Staff is very very pleasant. Clean and enjoyable. Stayed 5 nights and enjoyed every one of them. All requests are met promptly with sincere friendlyness.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous. Center of town. Unfortunately they are under construction and there is no spa. Also the hammering and drilling is incessant from 9-6 everyday. Most of the time we were out seeing the city except when we wanted to refresh and relax before dinner or between tours. It was horrific and stressful. Literally sounded like it was happening in the room next door.

Yelp
We were disappointed that the housekeeper left someone's used bandage stuck on our shower bench for three days. We were curious why she would miss such an obvious and unsanitary item, but then never saw her in our room to ask. Turn-down service was also missed on two of the three nights. Yes, I did complain to the hotel and they replied that they were having some problems in the housekeeping department. Charges for printing boarding passes and the $20 USD daily fee for Internet are irritating for a hotel of this level. This hotel fell short of our expectations for luxury in Berlin. The décor, while not cheap, is not exactly chic and is somewhat tacky for my taste. The bathrooms have pink marble everywhere, except the counters and shower floor which have a cheap imitation acrylic material, a surprising choice for a Ritz Carlton. The "knickers" worn by the male bar staff, kimonos for the females, and other staff costumes seem out of place in Berlin. During our stay, there were many guests in Middle Eastern dress in the hotel and public areas which contributed to the bazaar atmosphere. The included buffet breakfast was wonderful and the 6-minute soft boiled eggs were perfect. One more positive note is the location across the street from a train station with a huge underground shopping area with food courts. There are also two full scale grocery stores down there. Nice when you have had one too many meals away from home.

Yelp
It's the Ritz. Do I need to say more? Reasonably affordable too. There's a cigar room with a pretty decent selection of stogies. Try the steak tartare!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel located in a very convenient area, our rooms were spacious and well taken care of. The staff spoke perfect English and were all very friendly and accommodating (even when you come in for breakfast at 830 straight from the club several mornings in a row lol) Definitely recommend it and would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
One of the better hotels that I've stayed in, definitely a 5-star. It is centrally located and close to a lot of places. Public transportation is easily accessible and there are several options for taxis and similar services at all hours of the day. The hotel staff is very professional and friendly. They checked up on me to make sure that I was always comfortable. The doormen, Azeze and I think Terry, were outstanding and they made my stay fantastic; I must not forget Tony as well, he was resourceful and provided great customer service. The turndown service offered was also on point, it was as if they knew exactly when it was needed. If and when I return to Berlin, I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Room service is not what I would expect from the Ritz. First night, hamburger was over cooked, dry, hard and tasteless. Second morning, placed order night before for breakfast to be delivered between 7:00 - 7:15 am. We had a planned city tour leaving the hotel at 8:00am. At 7:15, they call our room and said they are really busy and we should go to the dining room for breakfast. Seeing as we were not even dressed yet, this would not work. We did not get breakfast that day! Third day, another tour planned at 8:00am. Night before we called to order breakfast. They assured us that the problems would not be repeated. We ordered and the food arrived, but it was cold, obviously prepared at least an hour prior. It was Not eatable! Very disappointed in the Ritz.

Yelp
Many Americans stay here. I'm giving 5 stars because that's what we're expected to do for the Ritz.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous hotel. I stayed here for a few nights when I was just moving to Berlin (luckily, my employer paid for it, otherwise I would not have been able to afford it!). The rooms are spectacular - many of them with beautiful views of Potsdamer Platz. The staff is well-trained, kind and eager to please. The room service is especially fantastic and the food is completely to die for. I would certainly stay here the next time I needed accommodation in Berlin and this hotel made me a huge fan of the Ritz-Carlton chain in general. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Yelp
Service- fantastic! Location- chic and perfect for walking to many sites hotel- it's the Ritz so everything is high end and polished This is our second time staying at The Ritz Berlin we were here in 08' thankfully nothing has changed it is still the cream of the crop!

Yelp
After I posted my initial review, I had $4,000 in cash taken from my purse by the housecleaner who came into our room after 9:00 p.m. to do turn-down service. We were all asleep and I had left my purse right there on the table in line-sight of the front door. Security validated that she entered our room and was in our room for 55 seconds (this, after my daughter politely sent her away because we were sleeping). There were other bills strewn about my purse, which is how I knew something was amiss. And I had counted my money the night before so I knew exactly how much I had in there. Security sided with the maid and refused to believe me. They did offer to make it up by a discount in my rate WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED. When we got home, I realized I forgot my Tempurpedic pillow and Sonicare toothbrush. I emailed them and asked them to ship them to me at my expense. They told me they weren't found. (I am sure the MAID stole them too!). I will NEVER stay in another Ritz-Carlton hotel again.
