My three night midweek stay at the Ritz-Carlton Boston had a rough air con start — that quickly was remedied. And then it was pretty flawless.||#boston #ritzcarlton #ritzcarltonboston #upgrade #airconfail #airconbliss #servicerecovery ||||My NUAs were declined, but I wasn’t surprised since it seemed almost sold out.||||The hotel did bungle the original room air con, but they recovered with a new upgraded view room (even while almost sold out) with vastly better air con while I was away at dinner. They also offered a $100 F&B credit for the inconvenience, which I thought was more than fair. ||||After coming back from dinner that first night, it was a pretty flawless stay. The air con remained around 64-66 F for the rest of my stay. The room is very comfortable, and they even brought 2 fans for me to be safe. They had a lovely chocolates amenity with extra bottles of water brought up from my original room as per my #prearrivalchecklist, as well. ||||Shower pressure was almost too strong! But I loved it. WiFi was a solid 40 Mbps, but then I do expect more from a luxury hotel. ||||In room dining breakfast and dinner both were great. ||||I had one lunch at the Artisan Bistro restaurant and they couldn’t have been kinder — even getting me an omelette despite it being past time for breakfast. ||||I enjoyed drinks one night at the beautiful lobby bar. Always a pleasure.||||I spent more time away from the hotel than usual visiting my family in the area. ||||Another very pleasant stay at the Ritz-Carlton Boston. Considering the Four Seasons One Dalton is the only other luxury hotel in town that will guarantee my 65 F air con, I am very happy with the Ritz-Carlton. The FS is newer, but I vastly prefer the RC location (and Bonvoy credit).

Enjoying our stay. Very good base to visit Boston. Great service great location rooms comfortable. Renovated but still has a bit of a dated feeling. The only drawback. However thoroughly recommend it. If we return to Boston we will surely return to the Ritz. Finishing this review on our last day here. Sunday lunch the 28th. I believe that this place is made by the people that work here. Ryan and Adriatic the concierge. Noel and Melissa at the Avery and so many others. We had a wonderful time. Will definitely return if we are back in Boston.

My recent stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston was nothing short of exceptional. The property itself delivers everything you expect from the Ritz comfort, elegance, and a standard of hospitality that’s in a league of its own but what truly elevated my experience was the outstanding service from Ouijdane in the Communications Department. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine dedication to ensuring a seamless stay were remarkable. She anticipated needs before I even voiced them, handled every request with grace and efficiency, and made me feel like more than a guest she made me feel valued. People like her are the reason luxury brands maintain their reputation, and she embodies the Ritz-Carlton gold standard perfectly. If you’re considering a stay in Boston, this hotel is a guaranteed five-star experience. And if you have the privilege of interacting with Ouijdane, expect excellence at every step.

Last month, my wife and I stayed at the Ritz for our anniversary weekend. We were given a perfect room overlooking the Boston Public Garden on the club level floor. We have stayed here one other time and it was a lot of fun. The staff is very nice and the location is unmatched. We have stayed at many Ritz properties and the offerings they extend for kids are a big plus. Upon checkout, Alberto was able to find a kid’a backpack and stuffed animal for our two year old son. We appreciated this and our son loved it when we came back home. Overall, this is a great property for a weekend getaway that’s proximal to the nicest parts of Boston.

Barely a Ritz and barely 5 star. Despite being completely renovated in the last few years, this hotel feels dated And less than five star status. The front of the house is just not trained up, unlike other Ritz hotels e.g., NYC,Atlanta. Certainly not comparable to the two four seasons hotels nearby. Small, easy fixes. For example, the lobby bar appears to have all the right elements, but not the right execution. Too bright, service not professional. Just too bright, very Marriott. Guest rooms appear to be in good condition, but not particularly updated. Also, the presence of mini bars, but not stocked, seems bush league. A lot of easy fixes here for $1000 a night hotel.

Beautiful hotel. Well maintained. They took very good care of me. Shoes shined and returned in less than 30 minutes. Room service was fast and delicious. All the things you’ve come to expect from the Ritz. The upgraded suite was pretty big for Boston standards. The one complaint was the Equinox that’s attached to the hotel is trash. Too small. Not well kept. Only ended up going there once my whole stay because it was so underwhelming. But I’m not letting that detract from the fantastic hotel.

Extremely welcoming people, the concierge gave us a solid list of restaurants, and Gabriela at the reception desk could not have been any nicer. Very nice spacious rooms. Greatly recommend the Hotel.

The service was attentive without ever feeling over the top. Every staff member from the front desk to housekeeping was professional, warm, and helpful. The room itself was beautiful. Both luxurious and comfortable, with luxurious linens, a spacious bathroom with large soaking tub and walk-in shower. It felt like home away from home. Located in the perfect area of downtown.

It was a pleasant stay here. But it could be better. I feel Ritz locations outside the US are way better. The lounge here in lively. The rooms were classic spacious and quiet. The coffee machine needed update. I would stick with the Mandarin Oriental.

Nice, but is it worth it? At roughly $1000/night I'd expect more than what feels more like a nice Marriott than a Ritz. Strengths: location, staff. Unremarkable: rooms, bedding. Weaknesses: food (Artisan bistro is very 3-stars as is room service), bar (closed two nights per week, so half our trip), thermostats (off by 2 degrees and engineering said that's their norm), no in-room coffee makers, beds (seemed more twin/full than queen).

Alright, great stay, but could be better. It was really nice, and the staff was amazing, but for some ungodly reason you have to pay 16 DOLLARS FOR WIFI AFTER ALREADY SPENDING A FORTUNE ON THE STAY. I've been to multiple hotels and never had to pay for wifi. Heck, even Hilton hotels are free wifi. But just tell me why that after spending an ungodly amount of money on the stay, you have to still pay for wifi.

If you're expecting the signature Ritz Carlton entrance, attentive customer service, and a room that leaves you in awe, you will find yourself disappointed. We arrived at the Ritz Carlton in Boston in October 2024 for a late birthday celebration for my mom, who was staying at a Ritz Carlton for the first time. I had hoped that the reviews I read two years earlier, which mentioned various issues with the property, were outdated and that improvements had been made. Unfortunately, it seems those concerns are still very much a reality. While the room was spacious, the layout felt impractical. The towel hook in the bathroom is positioned outside the shower, which means that after drying your hands, it's easy for the towel to fall off. To make matters worse, the other towel racks are located on the far side of the bathroom, away from the shower. The marble sink was cracked, and the toilet seat was also damaged. Additionally, the bathroom features a handheld bidet spray, which is difficult to use--certainly not the proper solution for a luxury hotel. I'll provide pictures to follow. For over $800 per night, these amenities should have been updated to reflect the Ritz Carlton brand. The room also had limited outlets for charging devices, which is surprising for a luxury property. You'd expect to find outlets near the bedside, but there were only two USB-B ports and two at the table, which are outdated considering most electronics now use USB-C. The refrigerator was partially locked, with one side completely inaccessible. It was frustrating since there were no snacks or refreshers stocked, and the locked section served no purpose. It made it difficult to store leftovers or refrigerated items we'd brought with us. When I called the front desk, they couldn't explain why it was locked, only offering to send a technician to unlock it. We decided to skip the interruption and just made do. In the morning, we requested two bowls and spoons to make our own granola and fruit, only to be charged for the request. For the price we were paying, it's hard to understand why the hotel couldn't provide this without charging extra. A few dollars for the hotel wouldn't have been much, but it would have gone a long way in providing outstanding service. I've stayed at multiple Ritz Carltons and St. Regis hotels, and this one has been by far the most underwhelming. The only positives of staying at this property were the attentive and genuinely helpful room service staff, as well as its prime location in the heart of Boston, within walking distance to Copley Square, the Boston Gardens, Boston Common, and more.

I have Ambassador status with Marriott so I stay in a lot of Marriott hotels each year. I am not impressed by the rooms. The lobby and checkin was really good. Elevators are slow and crowded most of the time. Cannot call from the phones in the room. Tried to call the concierge and front desk but the phone cuts you off before anyone answers. Bed is comfortable and bathroom is in good shape. You have to pay for lounge access no matter what your status is with Marriott. Overall it's a solid $150 a night hotel, no way is this a $700+ a night location! Please stay someplace else if you are in Boston.

Very pretentious front desk person, Daniel, and equally pretentious manager, Michael. They refused to honor my online booking rate from Marriott App "because it was a busy weekend." They said I could only have the room if I paid 3 times my booking. There was no other place to stay nearby so I had to agree. Don't trust your booking. It was downright a scam. The room was nice but no better than the Hampton Inn down the road.

Very overrated. Old Hampton or something that was converted. No coffee maker, no refrigerator, full-sized beds.

May at the Ritz Carlton bar stood out . He has amazing customer service, makes a drink so well, and connects like a true professional.

The hotel is in a great location and had pretty decent amenities and style. Furniture felt pretty sturdy, however I give it 3 stars because even though they are partnered with Equinox to provide all the recreational amenities such as swimming pool, fitness rooms, etc. it was also being used by the Equinox members which meant there was very little capacity to even use the exercise machines. I could not even use the swimming pool because there are 4 people lined up just to use a lane! I would probably look elsewhere..

I am shocked the ratings on Yelp are so low for this Ritz location. I stay at lot of nice hotels and this one is always great. The check in process is very personal, quick, and convenient. I usually get an upgraded room, helps that I am a Marriott Titanium member. Most recently I got an executive suite and had great rest all three nights I was there. I asked for a Nespresso machine and they brought one with about a 50 pod variety box, totally amazing and no extra cost! The Equinox gym is expensive at $15 a day, but it is a state of the art gym and you can take spin or other Studio classes as part of the fee. The location is great, completely walkable to North End or the water front. The prices can vary dramatically, and I recommend you call to get the best rate.

It's so surprising to see a Ritz-Carlton with only a three star average. Seems almost impossible to believe. I would not believe it myself until I experienced why they only have three stars, it's because of their mediocre service and their lack of a traditional "ladies and gentleman" attitude. Sadly, I think that they need to go back to the Ritz Carlton training manual and learn how to take care of their best clients. It all started when we first arrived to the property. It was nearly midnight and raining... And not a person in valet or anyone offering to help. No one. Even the people who came after us had the same issue, where to park their car or how to get help with their bags for a family of four. That's why we pay a premium here, to get help and service as needed. Usually they anticipate it. Check in was a clumsy effort... Due to the computer not cooperating and then they were not able to register my credit card properly and they could not look up my account and see my titanium membership number. It was a long tedious process. Luckily our room is very nice. We are very happy with the comfy bed and amenities. Our only view is another building... But since we're spending lots of time outside it does not matter that much. It became a challenge in the morning to get a coffee machine to make coffee in our room. We waited nearly an hour... And eventually called back to make sure they had our request. I'm not sure why they don't have coffee available in the room all the time like other Ritz properties. After reading many of the other reviews, I read that they had a car service to use around town. I thought that would be very useful... So as we were leaving, we asked the front desk if we can arrange for the car service. They said they stoped the car service so do not expect that to be available anymore. Bummer indeed. What really stung the most though was the fact that I have many upgrade certificates to club level in my member portfolio and they would not honor them. The club level has been closed for a while and they just opened and we did not know that it was gonna be such a big deal and hassle to get access. And with so many club level certificates on file, (63 nights of upgrades) you would think they would want to welcome us happily especially since it would only be for one night since we already missed most of our first night here by arriving so late. After staying more than a dozen Ritz Carlton properties, I am disappointed at the quality of service received here. It feels like they really do not care about making it as special as they could.

I wasn't going to leave a review, but here we go. Today is our 4th day and 5th night staying here and somehow we can't get a tea service! My daughter and I are on college visits, so it's the two of us staying. After requesting a coffee maker, we realized the Keurig tea pods aren't included, so we also requested a kettle. The kettle arrived without teas, so to avoid calling front desk again, we simply bought our teas. Now we have to deal with the dilemma of tea cups! It's a mathematical oddity - on the first try, we got two cups with 2 saucers. Once these were used, we ended up with 1 cup and 1 saucer. I should've counted my blessings, because the next day I ended up with 1 cup no saucer... concierge keeps sending up another kettle. It's these simple things that make you wonder if you're staying at the Ritz.

Love this hotel. It's right smack in downtown Boston, next to Boston Commons and a 2 mins walk to China Town. The rooms are updated tho the refrigerators for drinks are locked and not stocked. The entire staff are really helpful and cheerful as what's expected of a 5 star hotel. They have one restaurant in the hotel and they do serve good food. Open from 7am-11am and 4pm to 9pm (pandemic hours I believe). Gym is on the 3rd floor which is actually Equinox Gym. $15 per use and they charge it to your room. Definitely great stay and now one of our favorite hotel when in Boston.

Short version: Be prepared to be treated with less respect because you booked a standard room and didn't look like someone going there for business, and you're someone who does not have "Titanium Status." Location is nice though. Long version: This was our first time staying at the Ritz-Carlton, and we had really high expectations since it is a 5-star hotel after all. To preface this, my husband and I were celebrating our honeymoon in Boston, and we let them know this when we booked our stay. We booked a king room, so this experience may differ from the other suites they have. Let me start with the positive aspects of our stay, as this list will be rather short. - We enjoyed the location of the hotel. It was right next to Chinatown and Boston Common (a super beautiful park). - The chocolates were good. - The room attendants and cleaning staff were very polite and helpful. Now on to the negative parts of our stay: This place felt more like a 3-star than a 5-star hotel. - The room had less amenities than a non-luxury Marriot hotel (which is the parent company of Ritz). We visited a relative who happened to be staying at the Renaissance (a Marriot hotel in South Boston) and we noted that their rooms had nicer views and the exact same amenities (plus a mini fridge that is not just for bottled drinks and a coffee maker). The beds and pillows felt exactly the same. The furniture in their room was newer. - There is no free gym with this hotel even though most booking websites will advertise like it is included with your stay (which it should be for how much you're paying for the room). The gym is an Equinox Gym, but you have to pay an extra 20 dollars per day to use it and it is not exclusive to the hotel. - The lighting was dim and a little depressing. The overall decorations for the hotel were little and mediocre. - A valet parking fee was on our bill at checkout, despite the fact that we don't have a car. It doesn't make sense that we would have this charge at all as there was never any mention of us needing parking. There should be no confusion about if someone did or did not have valet parking. We noted this happened to some other people in other reviews. - They did not do anything special for our honeymoon - which was disappointing because most nice places will. A relative said that when they went to a different Ritz for an anniversary, the experience was amazing, they were given a bottle of nice champagne, their room was upgraded to one with a nicer view and the staff was very friendly to them. This Ritz did not do anything until prompted with a question on the last day of our stay. They brought us what tasted like chocolate covered pop rocks and 4 other assorted chocolates haphazardly placed onto a plate, and a typed out note that basically just said thanks for staying with us on your honeymoon. This looked nothing like the pictures we've seen from other positive reviewers, so we were highly disappointed. - Our room faced an apartment building and a tiny sliver of the park. Finally, despite the fact that you are paying more money than usual to be a guest here, the hotel staff will treat you differently based on the way you look and act. The doorman was rude to us, and the concierge wouldn't even look at us when we walked by. We were never greeted in any way when we came in and out of the hotel, but we noticed that other guests that came in right before us would be greeted. I would rather stay in a place where the staff treats you well regardless. We will not be coming back to this location and we will be skeptical of other Ritz locations in the future.

This Ritz-Carlton is the most bland and empty hotel than any Ritz I have ever visited before. Building is dark and outdated. There is not a grain of sugar or drop of water, juice or soda in the room's fridge or a coffee maker. You have to call to get water or soda or coffee maker and they bring one item at the time and they forget and also don't pick up the phone so be prepared to make few trips downstairs for any simple thing. Cars are park right behind the property but still Vale takes 10 to 15 minutes and you see three or four of Valet personnel chatting outside the hotel but don't attend their desk to pick up the phone. Customer seevice is way below rhe standard in every level that I tried the hotel. I would say four star will be a proper fit for this hotel building.

As someone who travels 200+ nights a year, I've become a self proclaimed "hotel snob." I've had the pleasure of staying at several Ritz properties as well as JW, St. Regis, and Four Seasons. I've lost my love affair with Ritz over the past several years as the brand in my opinion has gone downhill. My company is based out of Boston so I am here frequently and normally stay at The Liberty. We came to Boston to see Billy Joel at Fenway. I was slightly skeptical due to few negative reviews on TA, but booked regardless. I didn't know what a treat we would be in for. **disclosure: I do have Titanium status** Upon check-in we were told that our room wasn't ready, and wouldn't be for a few hours. Not the best start. As my other half was getting ready in the restroom, they did some magic and had a room for us. The hotel was 100% booked so there were no upgrades available. Fine by me, as I never count on them. If I want a better room, I can always book it. We were pleasantly surprised to have a top floor room overlooking the garden. The house car was always available to take us to our destination, and the drivers provided the right amount of city education while not over-talking. Concierge was fantastic, booking us a last minute massage next door at Equinox. While a separate review, one of the best either of us has had. The highlight is here... checking in we discussed what we were in town for. We came back from the concert Saturday night to find a handwritten card, picture of Billy Joel, and a treat from someone very thoughtful at the front desk. These are the "little things" they differentiate a brand and a property from the rest. What an amazing experience. I've found my new go-to Boston hotel.

Ehhh, not as impressive as other Ritz properties we've stayed at. All staff was nice and city-view room was standard/fine. There were crumbs between the glass of the table. Gross! Location is a bit odd, between Chinatown/theatre district/the Common. We won't stay here again. Our go-to is the Lenox, the best place to stay in Boston IMO.

Customer service is truly the #1 focus of this hotel. Then again, it's The Ritz Carlton. Check in was smooth and very welcoming. The executive and club suites are spacious, beautifully furnished, linen bedding in the rooms are a high thread count, 1 & 1/2 baths, pull out sofa and nice sitting area. The rooms also included well appointed robes, slippers, great view and an impressive water pressure in the shower. Upgrade to the The Club level. This levels allows you to use the club suites with around the clock food and drinks along with other services like suit presses. The club lounge staff are so incredible and the food is a gastronomic delight! To the ladies and gentleman of The Ritz Carlton in Boston, thank you for doing such a phenomenal job in taking care of us.

I was here in December and the manager, Sara, gave me a room with the best view of the Boston Common. I came back this month and they found my info and she and Brian made it happen again for me. Our greeting was the best. I love businesses who take care of their customers. They were so nice to me that I told my family about it and my brother made reservation to come. What I love the most about my room, besides the bed and how roomy it is, it's the bathroom layout but mostly the shower. The water comes out with just enough force and it massages your body. Now that's what's up.

Valet destroyed one of my wheels during my stay. Their manager as well as the hotel manager told me they would resolve the issue. Valet company sent me the wrong wheel then blamed me for the mistake. I was a little taken back when I brought them the wrong wheel back and they tried to accuse me of switching it out with another wheel in hopes of getting a second wheel for free I guess. Reached out to hotel management again after incident. They promised to get involved and resolve my issue. It's been two months and I still am driving around on a destroyed wheel. Valet company is now unresponsive and I've lost all hope in hotel management. By far one of my worst experiences with any hotel I've ever stayed at. The hotel manager just pushes the blame and is full of false promises to resolve any issues you may be having. I've been offered nothing for my troubles and insulted by the valet company.

We have stayed at many Ritz's before and this came as a shock. There were NO restaurants open except for 1 which was open from 6-7 for dinner. Room service was offered from 9-10. This is what I imagine a motel 6 to be like. It was hell. Oh and if you want to use any of the ritz facilities, you have to join equinox next store. The very best part is the manager offered me 20,000 points which equals $100 for our inconvenience. I believe our bill came out to about $3000 dollars. Listen to me and avoid this place!

Excellent hotel. Staff is efficient, helpful, and friendly. They are kind and funny as only Bostonians can be. Since I'm from the east coast, I appreciate their humor.

They kick us out of ur room just for asking Aaron Judge for a autograph and they burnt the battery out of our car and we still have to pay even though we never even stayed for a night

My fiancé and I wanted to spend a romantic evening in my favorite city and what better way to splurge then to book a hotel at the Ritz? I reserved our spot easily online about a month and a half before our stay through the Marriott Bonvoy app in which I redeemed some of my points. The staff was great through the entire process, even before we got there we were contacted via email and by phone to see how best they could accommodate us. We asked for a corner king on a higher level with a great view as an upgrade and that is exactly what we got. We arrived about an hour earlier than the advertised check-in time and our room was available for us. Oana checked us in and asked us if we needed a late check out the following day. She also asked us a little bit about our stay. She then recommended that if we had any questions about what to do in the area that we visit concierge. Before we went up to our room we stopped by concierge to ask a few questions and the girl was very young and seemed to be quite unfamiliar with the property and the city. It didn't make me feel confident to listen to her advice, but I know the city well enough that I knew we would be fine. A bellman soon approached us and helped us with our luggage. He was very talkative and asked us a lot about our stay. After he helped us with our luggage he then went on to tell us that we had one of the best views in all of the property. That made us feel very happy! We did have a tremendous view of the Boston Commons and the entire city as it was in the 11th floor. He also left his card in case we needed anything else during our stay-which was lovely. Our room was spacious and beautiful. We wished we were staying a little bit longer. We had to be up early the next morning to catch a flight back to California. There is an Equinox fitness club adjacent to the hotel, it is a $13 fee for hotel guests. There is valet parking available for $60 per night. There is a restaurant/bistro adjacent to the hotel as well. It was a Sunday afternoon and we were looking for a place to watch the Patriot's game. We decided on the hotel restaurant. Look no further than your own backyard, right? There were two TVs and the bartender turned up the volume on the other one for us. We ordered a flatbread, buffalo wings, and a salad that were all so tasty and delicious. My fiancé order a Guinness and I ordered a cocktail off of their wellness menu. The fact that they had a wellness cocktail menu made me very excited. I got the Midnight in Kyoto which consisted of Matcha green tea, CBD oil, coconut rum, and coconut and mint shavings. It was delicious shaken with a foam topping. All together, including tip and tax, we ran a $120 bill for two cocktails and three food items, so of course it was on the pricier side being a hotel restaurant. It is in a perfect location in walking distance to the Commons, the theater district, and many restaurants, bars, and shopping areas. It's about 15 minutes away from the airport, depending on traffic. The checkout process was seamless and unlike other Marriott hotels, my points were posted almost immediately to my profile. Overall, this was a lovely stay nothing to complain about. The only thing I wish were different was that they would have more benefits included for Elite members. The concierge lounge they have available is $150 extra even for the highest status of being a Marriott number. Also the fact that parking is $60 and the gym costs $13 extra wasn't appealing. On top of how expensive it is to stay here, one would assume more things would be included. We used our Marriott points and that was a lot of points to stay there. Out of pocket, the only thing we ended up paying for was our meal and drinks at the Bistro. There is someone who comes to clean twice a day if you wish to have that, if not be sure to hang your privacy sign. They also offered a really cute amenity from 4 to 5 PM at the Bistro For children to make their own caramel apple. They had an entire station lined up and someone there teaching the kids what to do. I thought that was a cute, (free) extra thing that was exciting for the children there. I'm curious because there was also something called the Ritz Carlton residences located within the same property. I meant to ask somebody if that meant people actually lived there. What a life! Overall, I likely will not return to this hotel because of the high prices, but it is a beautiful property in a great location with a very pleasant staff.

The Ritz in Boston is right near everything you need. Cambridge is near and Harvard is close. The hotel is a beautiful Ritz. It is not as large as some of the other Ritz properties, but everything you expect in a Ritz is there for your comfort. The rooms are lovely, spotless, and comfortable. The WiFi works great. The restaurant has really good food and we had breakfast there every morning and dinner once. The staff is great. They know the City well and can direct you around and help with transportation and any other needs you may have. Enjoy.

Just returned from a two night stay at The Ritz-Carlton Boston.... Positives: -- Beautiful rooms...we had a large suite with two bathrooms, a living room, dining room, and a huge bedroom. The room was in good condition for the most part, and the furnishings were nice. -- Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. -- Location is central. -- Room service prices are quite reasonable considering. Negatives: -- Upon checking into our room we found stained robes and sheets. After a call down to housekeeping everything was rectified, and the manager sent up a note and a plate of cookies as an apology. -- Room service was kind of a mess both times we ordered breakfast. The first day breakfast took closer to an hour to arrive (despite being told 35 minutes or less). Upon arrival many items were missing. Same thing this morning. The person checking us out was kind enough to remove all food from our bill after asking about our stay, which was very nice of him (ultimately breakfast was included in our Amex rate so we wouldn't have paid for it anyway, not sure if he knew that). -- Room view wasn't great but nothing we couldn't live with. -- Didn't like that we had to pay $15 to use the gym...this should be complimentary for sure. -- Pool was closed for the weekend, which makes no sense to me. Overall we had a great time and would definitely stay at the Ritz Boston again.

Worse check in experience! Not the Ritz Carlton service experience. Lady at front desk check in area even stated they commonly overbook rooms which is why they were not able to get us into our room any earlier though they promised to do so when we originally arrived. Misplaced our bags for a brief moment then delivered them to our room but also sent up a black bag that was not ours. No quality check to ensure bags are connected with the rightful owner. Checked in Saturday (8/31) and as of Monday (9/2) saw that we were charged a nightly rate for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Completely incorrect since we paid for the entire hotel and airfare via Expedia. Called at 9:15pm on September 2, confirmed we had prepaid and that we should not have been charged again for nightly room rate. Per Paulina, she confirmed mistake and promised to have nightly room rate charges reversed. Wow...how does this happen and especially at a place like the Ritz???

Stopped at this place on my way home one day for dinner and really enjoyed what they had to offer. They have a great selection and wide variety of appetizers and main entrees to choose from. I started with their fresh greens/frisée salad which was tossed to perfection with a light coating of dressing and finished with a plate of rigatoni bolognese. The waiters were super friendly and environment relaxed yet classy.

So it's a Ritz Carlton so the level of expectation is high. What I loved about my room was the bathroom! So spacious and I am a fan of desperate toilet space. So it's a small room to the side of the shower and the amazing soaking tub for one! And they have a bath service where you can call ahead and they will run you a bath with specific bath salts of your choice! The other thing I loved was how quiet it is. I don't hear people in the hallway or in the next room, I like the quiet. It's in the heart of downtown so you are close to the park and gardens. Makes getting around easy. The concierge is very helpful.

One of my favorite places to stop when downtown!! Love the open and airy feeling. Big windows let the sun come in and quiet enough with areas to work on your laptop for a while if you need to. The staff are all very helpful and friendly! The doormen take excellent care of all patrons, I was even offered an umbrella when leaving in the rain. Great place to grab dessert and hot tea on a cold day! Their wine and cognac selections are the best I've seen in the city.

Love love love this hotel. The service is absolutely over the top. The convenience of the on-site amenities is even better. The gym is kick ass and the service is always prompt and accommodating. I will definitely be back

What your paying the extra $150-200 a night more than the neighboring hotels is the quiet... Other hotels draw a less moneyed crowd and they will tend to make noise in the hallways or in the room next to you, not here. Otherwise room is a nice size as well as bathroom but not crazy big for regular room. Towels are your standard stuff.

We stayed at the Ritz for 5 nights in a club level Suite. Location was wonderful, right by Boston Common and multiple T stops. Service was wonderful, especially from the concierge, front desk and club lounge staff. Staff made my 4 young children feel special and they enjoyed the scavenger hunt and little toys provided. I would definitely stay here again when I Boston! In fact I'm planning on a business trip to Cambridge soon and considering staying here and commuting.

I came here for two of my dear friends birthdays and I decided to take them to Boston for a treat. We ended up staying here. I had gotten a MB package that included unlimited use of an S500. We had gotten a Club Garden Suite with an attached room as well- so it was like a 2 bedroom suite. It was probably one of the top hotel stays in my life. The club level lougne was spectacular. The staff was impeccable. The views of The Common were amazing as well. There is a more modern Ritz in Boston, but I liked the old time feeling of this one- almost felt like 5Star Colonial (if that is even a category!) I will never forget this experience ever.

Wonderful stay. First you can't beat the location. It's right on Boston Common and walking distance or a short ride to all the main sight seeing attractions. Second, our entire stay was just so enjoyable here. Our room was great. Clean, well appointed, excellent housekeeping service. The hotel itself is nicely done and has a restaurant and bar on site. The restaurant food was excellent - we actually ate lunch and a dinner there. Room service was just ok. The staff were all super nice, helpful and friendly. We would definitely plan to stay here when in Boston again.

I'm sure this place would be great, but it would be even better if they paid their staff a living wage for what the make people pay to stay and eat there. Take care of your staff and they will make that place shine.

From the minute we arrived and was greeted by the doorman, Kenny, we were treated like VIPs. Kenny helped get us situated in the hotel with our luggage and by valeted the rental car. Check-in was a breeze. I just gave my last name and was quickly given the room keys and the information about the club lounge by Devin. At the elevator bay entrance they have a beautiful lighthouse made out of velvet cake, gingerbread and cookies. Some of the guests look like they have tried to eat some of it. The club lounge is terrific where you can get light snacks, desserts and cocktails. The hosts are so accommodating especially Julianne who made some amazing drinks for us. It's a really nice holiday decorated place to relax, read the local newspaper or play some board games. If you have never purchased the club lounge access at a Ritz, I would highly recommend to try it at least once. You'll get hooked. Even ran into Nick Offerman from "Parks and Recreation" during breakfast. We were pleased by the suite but hey it's the Ritz. Nice furniture, bathroom tub and separate shower. The television location above the dresser away from the bed is a little awkward but who cares I'm not spending that much time in the room anyways. Very happy with all of my Ritz hotel experiences. The people are just so nice.

Customer service was fantastic, as should be expected. My wife and I felt very welcome the moment we arrived with our baby daughter. I had informed the hotel in advance that I was bringing my little one and that my wife was celebrating a birthday. Guest services had arranged a modest bag of child-related gifts; from an illustrated book about a duck in Boston (a cute local touch) to outlet covers. A consideration I was not expecting but was very thoughtful. During the evening maid service (while we were out) complimentary chocolate covered strawberries were delivered to our room with a personal message from the staff. Another consideration that wasn't expected but provided. The standard room was well appointed with a large bed and bathroom, but lacked a coffee maker or kettle. It would have been an annoyance had the dining staff not been so accommodating with delivering jugs of hot water for tea along with teacups and mugs. Great experience considering we were staying using a reward night.

We have stayed at many other Ritz properties and have never been disappointed, until Boston. The room was small (under 500sq. Ft) and very ordinary. A bed a couple of chairs and a chaise and all pretty stiff and uncomfortable. There and is no overhead lighting in the main area, so it's pretty dark. Also, the pool and spa are not part of the hotel and you must use the adjacent Equinox club. It was a Sunday so it had closed at 7pm about an hour after we checked in. We checked out after just two hours with no refund offered, went to the Four Seasons and had a great experience. We only had one night in Boston and didn't want to blow it. For the same price point I would strongly recommend the Four Seasons.

We are steady Ritz and Marriott customers but this is the worst Ritz we have stayed. Nothing screams "Ritz" but the price Bullet points 1.) main bar closed our entire stay (July 4 for several days) 2.) only restaurant not closed was a bar and not a great one 3.) location-rough area 4.) rooms not up to Ritz standards 5.) Marriott Copley is better and save your money The great part is they have an incredible Equinox health club attached that is world class. Awesome Our refrigerator was broken and they brought one that sat in the middle of the room Seriously disappointed

The doorman has a terrible, terrible attitude! His level of disrespect and piss poor attitude is despicable. Having encountered and hearing the way he treats locals of Boston was quite upsetting. Nothing like hearing the doorman taking down to those walking their dogs and reprimanding owners for allowing their dogs to use A PUBLIC SIDEWALK to do their business. If you have such an issue with pets, then don't say that your hotel is pet friendly. It's not the best image to be portraying...

The hotel is gorgeous, but I did not stay there. I did however dine there and it was the first and last time. It is what you would expect, when you walk in to be seated and then the horror began when my Dover Sole arrived. I de-boned it and fileted it like they usually do for you in other restaurants and I am glad that I opened it up! it was loaded with cooked worms! What a turn off. The waiters were not shocked or moved by this. They explained to me that all fish has worms in it and to find out how many worms are in a fish they view it under a special blue lamp?! WHO CARES!! Did I eat it...not on your life...Did I have to pay for it anyway...YES! I tried to give them no stars, but it will not let me do this, so alas, my review stands and reader,.remove the star. After all, I did not order the worms ;+{ The restaurant is wheelchair accessible with ramps inside and out.

One of these things just doesn't belong here.... Beautiful room, lovely staff.... but $20 flatbread from Artisan Bistro (attached restaurant) with 1" sliver of wood really didn't cap off the night we had hoped for.

Upsetting for someone who grew up with the old ritz. They lost my bag and coat. Bag had my medications in it. I waited until 1am desperate to go home after a wedding. An unapologetic manager and service ma continued to tell me my items went through a chain of people and they were trying to locate it. Update, this morning my bag was delivered to me via cab. Still unapologetic. Like my dad always says, nothing compares to the four seasons.

Went here to meet a friend from out of town after work and their bar with the fireplace was just a really nice, cozy setting for us to catch up. Seemed like a little hidden gem and the service was great as we enjoyed our cocktails.

LOVED this hotel on my recent trip to Boston. Our room was so comfortable and the hotel is extremely central to all the major attractions. However, the biggest draw was the staff. They were fabulous! We were traveling with our 18 month old, which is a challenging situation, and they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Special shout outs to the front desk team for providing a fun stuffed lobster memento to our daughter and to John (Doorman) and Mohamed (Bellman) for doing a phenomenal job efficiently loading up our car as we headed out to Cape Cod. The hospitality of the team was so appreciated.

I offered to pay for the experience at the club level bar and restaurant services but I was denied after explaining that I've been to many of their locations as a resident and visitor all over the world and received a cold welcome at this Boston location, the only Ritz Carlton that I've ever visited and had the worst experience and welcome ever at any high end location I've ever visited in my world travels

Great location, polite and attentive staff that make sure your stay is enjoyable and having the Equinox as the gym is a huge plus! My family and I stay a couple of nights here every year to watch the nutcracker and have dinner in Boston, it's proximity to the opera house and basically to everything else is one of the reasons we go here. highly recommmed :-)
