The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain

I always heard Arizona was a magical place, full of unique food, southern desert hospitality, and rich Sonoran tradition. Well, this hotel proves every word to be true! With the endless hiking trails, mountains, cacti, sunsets, hot tubs, fire pits, golf courses, pickleball courts... it's a wonderland. Yet, outshining all that, and even the bright AZ night sky is their All-Star Team helping at every turn. Jonathan at front desk assisted with our room when we requested a move due to some hotel construction noise; and he came through in spades with detailed choices to help improve our stay! Javid at the pool and Turquesa Grill might have been the best service and hospitality we received in all of 2025. Javid-- may you find great success and joy, my friend! And Jeff at Core Kitchen was exceptional; we'll see you on the hiking trails soon, good sir! Coming to the Ritz-Carlton at Dove Mountain fixed what ailed us. We left relaxed, refreshed, and with a new lease on life. A huge thank you to this wonderful place and the elite J-Team working there!!!

Amazing staff, service, food, and location! Some highlights include: the mixology class, hiking trails near the hotel, and the tuna tostada appetizer. The staff knew us by name, and were always so helpful (asking us if we wanted water, needed help in anyway). The hotel itself is gorgeous and so nice to walk around. Thank you Janelle for showing excellent customer service throughout our trip!

Beautiful scenery on the way here. The staff were mostly young kids in their 20s but courteous and professional. Room was spacious with a beautiful mountain view. Bed was comfy for 2 nights I stayed. There was a small mix-up on the welcome card, which was quickly corrected. I learned a lot and had fun looking for scorpions on the night hike — a must-do experience. Turndown service was wonderful as usual. I left feeling peaceful and happy after my stay. Ritz Dove Mountain is great for families, couples and solo visitors. I’m already planning to return and highly recommend this place.

This is by far the greatest resort experience I’ve ever been at, and I am still here. The staff will fit all of your accommodations as soon as possible and they are nothing but respectful. All they want to do is make your stay more enjoyable. The food is also lights out. I am SO HAPPY HERE. Sadly I leave tomorrow :(. Oh and the golf course is INSANE. Worth every penny

Beautiful resort with so much to do. Plenty of hiking and biking trails of varying difficulty. There are also 4 tennis courts for guests. The rooms are very quiet and the bed is comfortable. Everyone working at the resort looks so happy, and the service is impeccable. However, Marriot has gone too far to beg for tips. It's annoying to see the housekeeper (they are great) stuff notes to ask for gratuity every day, and then in the app Marriot asks again for tips.

Tl:dr - This is a great place to stay for a long weekend, I don't recommend anything longer. Overall, the hotel is nice, but it's not luxurious. The bed isn't great and after 3-4 nights, I was tossing and turning. The food is meh at best. Core is great, but you can't eat every meal there. The 3 other restaurants are totally boring and forgettable. I also felt like they nickle and dimed you - $40 for s'mores (that's the total with taxes!) when you already pay a $60 resort fee!?! I did love the location and the hiking right outside the hotel is unbeatable. The gym is decent and they offer group fitness classes daily. (I did a yoga class that was not very good.) The multiple pools are fabulous as well.

We just spent three nights at the Ritz Carlton Dove Mtn and had such a wonderful trip. This was our second time at the hotel and every staff member went above and beyond to make our trip great. Our room was wonderful and all the food was delicious. Hollie at the front desk helped us get settled into a room that would fit two cribs. She was professional, kind and helpful. Kenny kindly took photos for our family and was so friendly. He was amazing! Caden was funny and a reliable shuttle driver. Fatima was the winner of the week though! She truly made our hotel stay so special and a trip we will never forget. We left a kids item at breakfast and she returned it to us with special, custom treats & gifts for our boys. She also brought a mini happy anniversary cake for us to enjoy! She will be remembered. Thanks to the entire staff for making our stay so nice. We can’t wait to come back!

We came to the resort to spend a day enjoying the Spa. We were very impressed from the beginning with our wonderful treatment by Janelle at the Reception Desk. Our pleasant time continued as we met Jonathan at the Spa, who ensured our entire day was a relaxing and pampered experience. The Spa itself and associated facilities were immaculate. We also recommend our manicurist, Rachel, and our masseuse, Briana (who my Wife said gave the best massage she ever had), to anyone looking for a premium treatment. Can't wait to come back!

When my friend said, "You want to go to the Ritz? I already booked you a room," I couldn't say no. As we were almost there, my son yelled out, "Mom, stop!" because there was a javelina crossing the road, which was quite a sight to see! From the minute we arrived until the very end, the service was amazing. It was their "slow season," so it was nice not having a ton of people everywhere. This hotel really caters to both kids and adults. They have two huge pools on the property, one of which has a slide that my son went down about a hundred times. They also have cabanas at each pool that you can rent for the day. There is an arcade room filled with games, from skee ball to Super Mario World. They also have an outdoor s'mores station, which we hit up, and the kids absolutely loved it. There's a ranger station with a kids' club where you can drop off your kids from 9-12 or 12-3(this was so clutch)!They do all kinds of projects with the kids, taking them outside to see the turtle on the property and educating them about the different plants. They have a Build-A-Bear station where the kids can pick out an animal and clothes, which my son went nuts for. Ranger Brie was an absolute angel, and I felt so comfortable leaving my son with her. They have three restaurants on the property, and my favorite was Core. They also offer guided hikes, and although I really wanted to do the sunset hike, I didn't get to this trip. I guess I'll just have to come back, darn! My friend and I did go on a hike Sunday morning, which was cool. On our last day, as my son and I were walking back from the pool to pack our stuff, one of the rangers, Brian, overheard me talking to my son about show and tell. He took it upon himself to take us to his office and give my son some really cool things to show his class. I thought that was such a kind and thoughtful thing to do, you rock Brian! Overall this trip was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to come back!

We stayed here for a work event and had to wait over an hour and a half for our room to be ready. I excpected a little more from a Ritz Carlton property, but I also get that the place was probabluy very booked up for the event. The morning yoga session was enjoyable, and breakfast was fabulous. Dinner, whether from the establishment or not, was excellent. The pool is amazing, and there's a second pool at the bottom of the stairs with a slide! Everyone here is super friendly. The event spaces, especially around the pool and golf area, were very nice. The trail markers, especially on the green trail, weren't prevalent enough--we even encountered a fellow hiker who was lost. There should be more markers or clearer paths, as we had to climb over some large rocks at certain points. That said, the views were gorgeous from the top of the green trail.

We have often sought out Ritz Carlton properties on our travels but today cancelled our upcoming Tucson reservation after an experience with their Concierge that while polite was just bizarre. We asked for suggestion on a mobility device rental. We were basically told to research it and maybe arrange to have one delivered. Yes, that's what we were asking for help with--a rec for a local company the hotel has worked with before. Similarly, we asked for advice on a local fine dining restaurant in the city for a special celebration one night that we will be off-property. The question was met with two eye-roll-worthy recs for their "excellent" on-property restaurants that have "special desserts." No one pays $1500+/night for a Ritz's unremarkable rooms, it's for service that makes a visit mostly effortless. At most actual 5 star hotels (and 4 and 3...) this question put to a Concierge/front desk is met with brief, helpful answers or an "I can look into this, can I get back to you?" The concierge here wasted our time, dragging on a conversation for 15 minutes in which she basically told us to use Google and actually said "you can make a reservation on Open Table" about their own restaurants. We cancelled and opted to stay elsewhere. We had answers to these basic questions after just a few minutes talking with the new hotel's Concierge.

Thoroughly enjoyed a three-day getaway here over the 4th of July. This is a first class operation about 30 minutes from the Tucson airport, north of the city. It does feel a little remote -- it would be tiresome, I think, to trek back and forth to the city, so this should probably be viewed more as a destination in itself than a base for exploring Tucson. I solved this by staying in the city for a couple of nights and seeing the sights, then retreating to the RC to be pampered. Just about every aspect here I found to be top-notch. Check-in was a lovely and efficient experience. I sprang for the reasonable extra cost and booked a canyon-view room which overlooked the pools and cactus-studded mountains in which the resort is nestled. Other view options would still give you a desert-scape, but would also overlook the resort entrance and parking areas. The room itself was a nice sanctuary. The entrance is set off from the hallway by a small exterior foyer to reduce passer-by noise, and inside the room there is another little entry foyer with a privacy screen separating it from the room. The bathroom entrance is at the end of the foyer, rather than right inside the door. The space is plenty large with contemporary desert colors and faux beams on the ceiling to give some dimension and a little lodge vibe. Bed and linens are comfy and there's a nice reading chair with ottoman. The bathroom is huge, with an extra-deep soaking tub and expansive countertops. Each room has a balcony. They aren't screened from the neighbors, but they are a good size for taking in the surroundings. The lobby is a wide passageway stretching the length of the resort with soaring ceilings and groupings of chairs and sofas with artwork situated at intervals. The spa was a very relaxing experience and has an outdoor hot tub plus a sauna in the changing area. I got the standard relaxation massage and was indeed very relaxed when it was over. The spa pool is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon following a treatment, with great loungers, good drink/snack service, and a close-up view of a desert hillside just beyond the fencing. Repeat after me: "I will do the mixology class at this resort." It's offered most afternoons and is an hour of good social vibes with a limited number of fellow guests. It costs $45 and one of the resort's polished bartenders leads you through making three different cocktails. This was a highlight of the trip and a wonderfully fun experience. The only area that could probably stand a little tweaking is the restaurant selection. First off, yes, they are fairly expensive, but it's a top-end resort and the only game in town, so get over it. Schlepping back and forth to town for dining outside the resort would eat up a considerable amount of time and effort, so you are probably going to be doing most of your eating here. The good news is that the food is tasty, and particularly in the case of Core, very creatively presented. The other primary option is Ignite, which offers a gamut of options from sandwiches to pub grub to tacos to sushi. The offerings are generally geared to the something-for-everyone approach, which I suppose makes some sense. But it would be nice if one of the outlets was more of its setting, with a focus on Southwestern or Native American cuisine. As they are, they are fine but not that memorable. What is memorable is the array of nice little touches that abound. There's a resident tortoise that comes out for a little afternoon viewing most days. There's also a Native American flutist who plays in the patio area for a half-hour every day in the late afternoon. It's a magical little interlude. There are desert hiking trails threading through the mountains around the resort, and a short "hotel spur trail" takes you to a place that links up to many of them. I wasn't quite that adventurous, and just doing the spur trail out and back was plenty for me. Along the walk, I saw cactus wrens, hummingbirds, roadrunners, javelinas (including babies), and my first rattlesnake. I could have done without the last one, but it's the desert and it's their home. The icing on top of the stay was the staff. I was there in off-season, so while it wasn't slow by any means, it also wasn't very crowded. Every service team member I encountered was attentive and very social and many remembered names even from short interactions. All in all, this was one of my very favorite resorts in the Southwest that I've ever visited.

A great spot for a staycation as we live so close by. The crew team are the most friendly ones you will ever meet.

This place is incredible and... MAGICAL! Yes, magical is the perfect word! I had three free night certs from Marriott and, after some research, decided to use them at this property. I wanted to stay somewhere that was lux but doesn't feel generic, in a setting that's different from my hometown (SF) beaches. Very happy with the decision. The hotel is secluded, peaceful, and serene. It's in the middle of the desert, so there's cacti everywhere. Aside from checking out local food options, we didn't leave the property. The beautiful, abundant amenities kept us well-entertained and happy: lots of hiking trails right around the hotel, a pool with an awesome slide, the beautiful lobby, and a lovely room with espresso pods and a sweet balcony to sip from. From this same balcony, we saw the hotel pet tortoise meander across the lawn. As if that wasn't cool enough, a herd of about 20 javelinas wandered by just under our balcony. Seriously, how amazing is that!?!? The staff was kind and friendly, always making sure we have enough water when we go hiking (important to stay hydrated under the desert sun!). On our hikes, we saw a tarantula, a bunch of hares (I called them bunnies/rabbits until I learned haha), and various birds I can't identify. We also drove to the nearby Saguaro National Park, which was beautiful and full of different cacti-like plants (I'm not sure what they are, I just call every spikey plant "cacti" haha). The highlight was an adorable road runner that didn't like my excited squealing (I love birds) and hid behind a plant while peeking over the leaves at me. Come here if you're looking for a restful place to be refreshed! It's the perfect setting to unwind, reset, and think.

Used resort pass to spend the day here and it was really chill not too crowded and like the ritz Carlton standard very high end and nice. The steakhouse was lovely over all excellent experience btw the water slide was awesome we went on it so many times

Another 5 star experience, at this, my 5th visit to Dove Mountain. This has become a sanctuary, a go-to retreat to rest, rejuvenate and feel brand new. We were very generously upgraded to a junior executive suite, which was massive with living area, two balconies and two bathrooms, and our favorite view of the north Tortolita mountains and saguaro. We were also treated to chocolate cake and champagne to celebrate a birthday. The trails are endless, with interesting history, petroglyphs, and desert animals, such as javelina, bunnies, and song birds. Take a head lamp and head out for sunset on the mountain or to be on the ridge in time for sunrise. Spend the day at the world-class spa - my favorite, anywhere, to date. Enjoy relaxing by the firepits and listen to the Native American flute artist send off the day at sunset with sounds echoing thru the canyon. Enjoy learning from an astronomer and viewing space from massive telescopes. Roast marshmallows by a fire. Play bocci ball or horseshoes. Learn about desert animals and reptiles at the nature center. Each night, we come back to our room after turn-down service and find chocolates on our bed. I am sad every time I have to leave this tranquil, magical property, and look forward to my return.

WOW! Stayed at the Ritz for a work event. They hosted the event here at Dove Mountain and I happily attended. We came in a day before work festivities started. We ubered from the Tuscon airport, it was about a 45 minute drive and a $42 ride. They do have valet parking as well. Checking in was easy, they offered a complimentary glass of champagne. Immediately walking into the lobby you are hit with the view out the other side, over a lounge area with the pool and moutain views. Don't get me wrong, Arizona in May is dry and hot, but there is a beauty to it. Excellent customer service at check in. We didn't need help with our bags though it was offered. The hotel always smelled good. Off to the elevator, found our rooms easily. A tastefully decorated spacious room with a fabulous bathroom. The room had a small table with two chairs, another table with 2 chairs on the balcony and an oversided side chair with ottoman. The bathtub is amazing, so deep and large, you have to climb in. Separate shower, separate toliet and plenty of counter space and plugs. Great lighting. Room had a coffee station, small fridge and plenty of space between the shelves in the closet and the drawers. We headed out to the White Stallion Dude Ranch and I was so happy to see a shoe shining/cleaning kit in the closet to clean up my boots. There was also a sewing kit and shoe horn. Bed was large and comfy. Balcony overlooking the enterance made for beautiful sunsets. Plenty of hot water and lovely Diptyque toiletries. They do have turndown service in the evening as well as cleaning service in the morning. Well done with both services. Ate buffet breakfast at CORE our first morning there. Service with Merideth was excellent as well as the food. A lot of options and great pastries. Hot tea/cofee and juices came with your breakfast buffet. CORE has a beautiful view and you can choose to sit outside as well. We had dinner in the lounge at Ignite, again, excellent customer service with Sarah. All of the staff was attentive and helpful. Gym was more than adequate with mutiple cardio machines, free weights and machines. Plenty of cold water bottles in the fridge with towels and santizer. Our work conference was in the one of the ball rooms. We had a welcome cocktail reception, dinner at the golf course. The staff was excellent in all aspects from my position at the conference. A couple Javelinas tried to join the cocktail reception and hotel staff kindly kept them away from the grassy area we were occupying. The hotel turtle also made an appearance as well. Overall a fabulous experience and beautiful property.

We went to the Ritz Carlton in Dove Mountain near Tucson for a staycation for Labor Day weekend and this was the perfect weekend getaway trip. This property is surrounded by a beautiful mountain that has many amenities on the property. We were greeted by Summer (front desk receptionist) and she was very helpful in accommodating us with a room upgrade with our Marriott titanium elite status. We came here to celebrate our anniversary, and we were always greeted by many friendly staff, who took the time to go the extra mile to make our weekend getaway very special. The resort pool here is one of the most popular features and absolutely worth checking out, but there are many trails (you can use bikes too) and plenty outdoor activities that are family friendly. One of our favorite features of this property is the Ritz Carlton spa, which is the only five star spa in a five star Ritz Carlton property in the United States. We spent all day at the spa, and it was completely worth the experience! They even have a private saltwater pool for spa guests which is incredible. The restaurants here are also fantastic and you can't go wrong with any of the food options. Overall, we were very impressed with this property and will definitely be coming back here in the future!

First time staying at The Ritz Carlton Dove mountain and now it will be a yearly stay for the New Years to come! When you first walk in you are greeted by the best valet and bellhop boys. They got our bags and helped us to our suite while making us feel very welcomed after a 6 hour dive from Newport Beach. The corner suite is amazinggggg. Two balcony's to view the Rocky Mountains, spacious living room and master bedroom, walk in closet and huge beautiful bathroom and guest bathroom! I recommend staying in the Mountain View suites. Day 1 -We had dinner at Core and The drinks were beyond tasteful. The 7oz tenderloin was perfectly made medium rare. Brussel sprouts, mushrooms and mashed potatoes were 10/10 as well. The food, drinks and ambiance was the best we've had yet. We could not remember our servers name but he was the best of the best. Day 2- New Year's Eve We had brunch in the morning at core which I highly recommend to do the buffet. We checked out two different trails and hiked. The trails overlook beautiful Rocky Mountains and cactuses! We ended up going to Clayton's for dinner. I will say I was disappointed in the food there it was not a good steak at all and service was horrible inside so we moved outside where our server was then changed and very attentive. After we made our way to the bar ignite. JONATHAN! The best bar tender around. From his specially made espresso martinis to gentleman's drinks. He was so welcoming, made delicious drinks and overall made part of our trip! We sat at the bar until midnight and they had a beautiful fireworks show to welcome the new year ! Day 3- The spa!! Beautiful and relaxing. We spent the whole day enjoying time in the coed pool and spa. Served with great food and drinks. I do recommend telling your server you would like to order from the hotel pools bar and grill as the spa only has salads, humus and chips/guacamole. Our server then brought us the menu from the other pool and we ordered delicious tacos, fries and fruit! We did a couples massage that just left us in a beautiful daze ! Overall great spa experience. We then got ready for dinner at ignite where we decided to just sit at the bar because Jonathan was there. We had the pork bou buns that explode with taste in your mouth, the buffalo tacos with pure deliciousness and Jonathan's top shelf drinks! I recommend coming here especially this time of year ! The service at this hotel is the best we've had yet and we've travelled many places. 10/10 experience. Thank you Ritz Carlton staff for starting our New Years off Right !

My husband surprised me with a staycation of rest and relaxation and it's just what I needed. The service was exceptional with 24 hour valet, a few restaurants onsite and a spa that was absolutely phenomenal. My husband and I got a couples massage and both of our masseuses were great. If you get a service in the spa you can use the spa amenities all day. They have a mineral pool that have bar and food service. It's quaint and quiet. There was a sauna and steam room on the ladies spa side as well. The hotel pool was beautiful as well, had pool Side food and beverages and the staff walked around frequently to check on you. We left the room late and missed room service but they came back between 7:30-9 pm and straighten up our room when we left the premises to have dinner in Tucson which I was very happily surprised by. There's nothing like coming back to a clean room when on vacay. Overall I definitely recommend this resort if you are in need of some R&R!

Incredible rooms, beautiful views, friendly staff combined with a world-class restaurant. Madison is especially friendly and helpful at the coffee bar. Drinks & Bar service tends to close earlier than expected - but overall a great stay.

This place is beautiful with a great golf course right down the street. I was here on a work trip and had a buddy come along so we could golf and hang out for the weekend. My wife called the front desk to open a tab for us and send up a small cake and drink to the room. When the concierge found out the room...she proceeded to tell my wife I was staying there with another man?! Nothing wrong with that, but didn't need to put my business on blast like that! Now, all I'm sayin is, buyers beware. Just know what you're getting yourself into.

Super beautiful location- the staff throughout the resort and restaurant were lovely and friendly people except at the front desk. We called in as we were going to arrive a day late due to a blown out tire in the middle of Nowhere and the desk girl just kept talking over my husband. She kept on and on, so strange to have service like that when it's 114 and a blown tire an no one has your tire size for a 125 miles- or able to order a replacement till the next day-as she continued talking over him it got more and more tense rather quickly. We were just letting them know- we would not be arriving that night due to a blown out tire. No, compassionate understanding or acknowledgment to our situation. Very bizarre. We were under enough stress with the reason we were not arriving- he couldn't get her to understand the reason we were calling. She just kept talking over him as he tried to talk. Railroading him with words. He finally had to say-"please don't cancel the reservation" over and over. And he is a patient man, always waiting for people to get what they need to say out first before he continues. And yet, with his restraint as the customer, she could not see his point, it was left very vague. A sickening feeling when you are traveling. We were nervous upon arrival- getting prepared for a cancelled reservation. We were eyeballing other hotels off the highway just in case. After all the money you pay- The Ritz should not be stressful situation. Yet this was. When we arrived we kinda didn't know what to expect. We couldn't relax till we were in our room so we chose to Carry our own bags- the guy at the car kept offering to take our bags saying, "are you sure? I mean, its a 5 star resort." We were emotionally fried from the last 24 hours. Food was delicious, Restaurant staff hadd the friendliest people, grounds are gorgeous, groundkeepers were super knowledgeable about the kind of bees I saw -but the queen beds felt like full size- very narrow tight to be calling that a queen bed. We are avoiding mentioning the girl at the the front desk till we check out as we can't risk anymore bad vibes on an emotional visit to town with a lot of drama. Mental health and safety first. Not sure how i feel overall - mixed- and I wish i had a day to enjoy the pool. Upon checking out they charged us for the day we didn't arrive. They were not tripping about it either.

This will be our second stay here in two years. This resort goes above your expectations. I believe they live up to what I define as exceptional. We've been traveling around the country for over a month now. Our experience here has been extremely relaxing. I would highly recommend staying here.

Great time by the pool, cabana by the bridge was perfect and great drinks. Service is always outstanding

I have been staying at Ritz Carlton's since I was a child and now that I am in my 30s I have stayed at many locations all across the world. This hotel lives up to the name and definitely deserves the five stars it has. It's a lot smaller than other Ritz's, but that can be a good thing. I was just in town for a couple of nights so I didn't get to utilize all the services like the spa and the restaurant was closed tonight, however, all the services I did use were great and overall I had a great experience staying here. As always, the worst part of the experience is some of the other rude guests, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the hotel, rather just how some people are raised. Every staff member I met was very polite and I can't fault them or criticize them for anything, even if I feel like being overly critical. I especially enjoyed the pool, although I was sad to see the waterslide was closed for my visit. The hillsides behind the resort and the views from the room are beautiful so it's a really serene place to spend a few or many nights. We did eat breakfast downstairs at Core and tried the à la carte menu, as well as the buffet, and both were delicious. I usually do room service however, this time I had a lot of obligations in town so I didn't get a chance. I had a great time and next time I am visiting Tucson I will certainly stay here and honestly I would go out of my way to stay here even if I don't plan to view visit Tucson itself. Definitely the most upscale part of the whole county.

I stay in hotels quite a bit. Over 100 nights this year alone, several of them being Ritz Carlton properties, which is why it saddens me to leave this review. Unfortunately, this property misses the mark in more ways than one. I stayed here for four days, and I'm going to point out some things that I noticed while staying at the property. First, let's address the bugs and insects in the bedrooms, bathrooms, and throughout the property. Literally, the rooms are infested with bugs. It was so bad that I had to call housekeeping to come change the sheets because there was a huge dead moth on the bed. I have attached videos and photos to document this infestation. Dirty and disgusting is an understatement. The bathroom floor was stained, sheets were dirty, and I could go on and on Second, there is a lack of amenities. If you're looking for comfort and the usual Ritz-Carlton treatment, avoid this property. There are very few amenities to relax like you normally would at a resort. Third, there is a lack of dining options and menu choices. Very minimal dining options. Restaurants are not open every day, some restaurants close early, there is not a real grab and go at this property yet the state there is, the gift shop that closes at 5:00 p.m., and no Market with 24 access to snacks. Third, poor customer service and management. I tried to get some of these issues corrected throughout my stay, and I just realized that I was wasting my time by even attempting to talk to these people. No Elite lounge. There's no Elite Lounge at this property even though the elevators and signage throughout the property state there is. Last, Bonvoy points. Seems like every single time that I stay at a Marriott now, I have to follow up because they messed my points up. That's the situation this time again. Overview. This is more like a three-star property than a five star.

Resort was very nice. Very secluded and peaceful. Bellman & housekeeping service was 5 star service. My room was upgraded to a casita which was very roomy . They have nice restaurants outside space. Views were beautiful...staff was extremely nice and helpful at all time. Pool was super relaxing as well. That said I do want to warn ppl with bad sinuses like myself that this resort is very high in the mountains and it affected me all weekend with bad headaches. For that reason I will probably never revisit the hotel .

2 night staycation for my wife and I. Was able to use a 40k free night award + 5k top off points for night one and 45k points for night two. I was pre-upgraded to a 1,000 sq ft 1.5 bath Executive Suite with 2 balconies and a beautiful canyon view for the weekend which was selling for $1,200 per night, so I feel I got an excellent redemption. Checked in at 2pm Friday, upon arriving in the room I found a personalized welcome note, comped bottle of red wine and treats. We were also granted a 4pm checkout. In summary if you want to skip the remainder of my commentary, the resort is fully open with daily housekeeping and turn down service, all restaurants / bars are open and all amenities are operating. They're firing on all cylinders, as well. The service we received all around was exemplary. There was no evidence here of lack of training or short staffing. After briefly dropping our things in the room, went immediately to the spa for a couples massage which was incredibly relaxing and set the tone for the weekend. Spa facilities (hot tubs, steam rooms, spa pool etc) are currently open only to guests receiving spa treatments on the day of treatment, but since we did not have time to enjoy all that, they arranged for access again on Sunday which was very kind. Participated in the wine tasting put on by the RC's Sommelier at Core then dinner on the patio bordering the canyon Friday night and the dining was excellent with some truly unique dishes and top notch presentation. Service was 110% on point. Took advantage of a cabana at the upper pool all day Saturday and spent all day out there. These cabanas are block construction and solid. Around 3pm daily this time of year the monsoon rolls through that area and when they cleared the pool out due to lightning we hunkered down in our cabana and enjoyed the storm. If you've never experienced the power of thunderclaps echoing around a canyon it is truly a sensory experience. F&B was good, especially by "pool standards". The staff was top notch, once again, could not have asked for better, more attentive service all day. When we arrived that morning, we were met with a stocked fridge and giant dispenser of infused water, complimentary chips & guacamole, and a large insulated ice bowl full of cold towelettes and little metal bottles of Evian face spray water which were an interesting thing I didn't know existed before Saturday. Dinner night 2 at Ignite over live music. Excellent "flown in fresh daily" sushi and cocktails in the middle of the desert . Service again so good and so personable I felt like the server was our friend at the end of the night. Sunday morning went for a hike up the canyon and witnessed a mountain rescue of a woman that had twisted her ankle badly enough that she had to be hauled out on an ATV by EMS. Took them about 45 minutes to find her and another couple of hours to get her out. But she was ok. We had cell service the whole time we were up in there so that's nice in event of an emergency. We never did make it back to the spa facilities on Sunday but did make it down to Cayton's at the golf club for a late lunch. The 19th Hole Burger is a must try. Again, excellent service. Finally checked out at 4pm. Only real gripe is that housekeeping came to the room a couple of times after 11am even though we had been granted late checkout in advance and on one occasion opened the door even though the DND sign was hanging. Per the front desk we were the only people given 4pm checkout that day.

The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is pretty far out of the way, so it's definitely a destination. It's about 45 minutes from the Tucson airport or about 2 hours from the Phoenix airport. The desert landscape is striking, and there are lots of hiking and walking trails directly behind the hotel. It's wonderful to be able to access so many trails just steps from the hotel, and the hotel is prepared for lots of walkers and hikers since they leave maps, bottled water and towels out for guests in the morning. The hotel has much more of a lodge-type of feeling than a southwestern, desert feel, but it's lovely all the same. There was a large outdoor pool which I didn't have a chance to use since it was still winter (and it snowed!). The rooms are a good size, and I think many (at least mine did) had an outdoor balcony with a view of the surrounding hills.

Amazing customer service that lives up to the Ritz Carlton brand. Thank you Maricella for 10-star service at the pool. My wife and I truly felt pampered and know you worked hard in the heat but that smile stayed on the entire day! Amazing! To Janelle, reception and guest services: 10 stars again. We were humbled by the wonderful bottle of champagne and huge strawberries dipped in chocolate What a kind surprise and gesture of kindness. Now that's how you celebrate an anniversary!

Had an incredible staycation here. Service was amazing, views from the room were unmatched, and it was the perfect way to have a relaxing weekend.

The Ritz at Dove Mountain is probably one of my favorite hotels because of the views and decor. It's lovely here and worth every penny in my opinion. This resort is secluded and the views are just outstanding. It's desert but the mountains and cactus landscaping always takes my breath away, making me feel so relaxed. The service here is always 5 stars, what you'd expect at the Ritz. Everyone is friendly and works hard to accommodate to make your stay nice. It's also all the little touches of service that stand out to me. The reception has daily chilled fruit water and they must mist the place because it always smells heavenly. And speaking of little touches, I'm an avid reader so I had some books on my nightstand, when I returned housekeeping had left me a Ritz bookmark on my stack of books. See how cute is that? It's those attention to details that always gets me. Yes this is a pricier luxury hotel but you get what you pay for. It's a lovely place to stay and they also have a great pool and spa services. Cute gift sho for buying goodies, they have a lot here. We've dined at their casual restaurant and also have done room service. The food here is really good but for the price point I'd expect no less. Just know that they do have great food and stunning views while you dine. I'll continue to keep coming back to the Ritz every chance I get. One of my favorite hotels hands down.

Excellent stay for a parents weekend away from the kiddos. Customer service is wonderful. The property is secluded and has everything you need for a whole weekend, you don't even need to leave the property. Hiking trails, spa, tennis, pools and restaurants. Highly recommend a room on the first floor with a fit pit. Made for a relaxing evening outside. I think the valet charge was $38/day or something like that, which is kind of silly considering you can park your own car and walk in, so keep that in mind. There are ample activities to keep you busy, or a relaxing pool if you just want to chill. Drinks were fairly over priced, be weary of that. Turn down service 2x/day which is always nice. If you bring the kids, there are activities for them as well.

It's a Ritz-Carlton property, so you already know what to expect. A flagship of the brand it is not, but again it's the Ritz, so you're never going to go wrong. Location is fantastic, you'll be surrounded by some of the best mountain vistas in the area and the service is definitely worthy of the Ritz brand. Golf, spa, dining are all exactly what one would expect of a property representing the moniker. You won't be overwhelmed as you might be at some of their other locations, but if you if you find yourself in the area, there is no doubt THIS is the place to rest your head.

I loved everything about our stay here from 12/20-23/22. Granted, we used our free nights to stay here, so we only paid the resort fee ($60 per night). Our room, a king with a fire pit, was so comfortable. The robe and slippers were so nice. The service and staff were all excellent. The grounds are so well-maintained. At the pool, they gave out samples of smoothies and ice cream. They had sunscreen and lotion. In the lobby, around 3:00, they had macarons and other mini desserts. Our stay here was just luxurious. Highly recommend.

I had a very lovely several days long stay here with the BFF. She managed to score a sweet rewards deal here so the two of us shared a room with two queen beds, which worked out pretty well. So this is a Ritz-Carlton, so you would expect it to be a rather luxe experience. As someone who usually stays in Holiday Inns . . . I would say that yes, this definitely felt like a huge upgrade. The toiletries were lovely, the resort itself felt very luxe. We were here in October, so it was more of the "off" season, thus the pool area, restaurants, lounge, and fitness center were all quite manageable and non-hectic. Staff was lovely, for the most part. Do expect to pay a premium price for very basic food and drink items, as this is a luxury resort. The view from our room was pretty darn incredible and there were plenty of hiking trails originating from the hotel - none of which we took advantage of. I could foresee someone staying at this resort, and never leaving the area, and still having plenty to do. However, we opted to drive into Tucson and to the National Parks and Forests nearby for our adventuring. I was always very happy to return to the resort at the end of the day . . . in that I really looked forward to the hanging out in the hotel room, poolside, or in the lounge/lobby. The property keeps a tortoise, which is allowed to periodically roam, with supervision, so that's kind of a fun feature. Not sure I would ever return here, and like pay the actual regular price as I'm not really a resort-y person, but I was very impressed with the amenities here!

The grounds are gorgeous, rooms with the canyon view are breathtaking but it's the service that makes this resort a shining star! Very relaxing atmosphere and the flute at 5:15 each night captures the spirit of this gem. We come here to simply relax because it's so easy to do here.

I've had the ritz with minutes for years. Over time I have become less impressed. The grounds and location are beautiful. Lots of trails nearby. But it's just so mediocre here. It's not ritzy like the Ritz should seem to be. The food has gone far downhill, the events are sporadic. It lacks ambiance and atmosphere. It feels empty and dark. The more I travel, the more I realize how overrated this place is.

We truly enjoyed our visit to Dove Mountain. Shout out to Kylie and Brianna for making our daughter's time there extra special :0) Thank you Renee for excellent service at Ignite for lunch with our family and guests. We can't wait to see you all again soon!!

Very disappointing evening at Ignite. Given menus and asked the server if we could have time to review. She came back took our drink orders and my BF credit card (we were only there for dinner not staying). No one retuned to take our dinner order. The table next to us gave an ear full of complaints to the waitress and manager. We flagged down our waitress to sign bill. Arrived at 7 left at 9. Thank goodness for Dennys. Excellent service and we were so hungry.

Stayed for 6 nights. We were greeted with champagne, balloons and cupcakes for my daughter's MS promotion and son's HS graduation. Service started really good then got really slow, specially at the pool. Breakfast buffet was good, prickly pear yogurt was my favorite! Night time hike was fun, very educational on fauna, flora and sky, was fun to count the scorpions! Biggest downside was valet, we found some damage on our car that wasn't there before, this is an ongoing situation, will post updates on how this is gonna be fixed.

AVOID if you are flying here. We had a flight diversion that resulted in being stranded in an airport overnight, and I let the hotel know as soon as we found out we couldn't be rebooked the same night. They charged me over 400 dollars for a no-show fee. They acted like they *might* refund it, making me submit proof of my travel issues multiple times, but then after checkout confirmed, no, they wouldn't. I definitely would have adjusted my expenditures while there if I had known I was getting stuck with a 400 dollar charge. Also, this was my third stay in 4 years, so I have been a loyal customer. For the money, the rooms are clean but basic. The food is marginal but very expensive... definitely not what you expect for a five star resort. I even commented upon this in a survey they sent me last year, and the menu is exactly the same as last year and not executed any better. The stand out at this property is the spa. Gorgeous and wonderful, but guess what, you don't have to stay here to book an appointment. Stay somewhere better and then just visit the spa for the day. I really can't believe how NOT customer focused they are. Is the 400 dollars worth it when I spend at least 10 times that every time I stay between the spay services and your crummy food? Also, expect 60 dollar resort fee and 38 dollar mandatory valet fee every day, plus tips expected every time you get your car in or out. ALmost all activities require additional fees (like guided hikes, smores, etc). But again, in today's travel climate when airline delays and cancellations are almost the rule rather than the exception, don't chance it unless you are cool with a very expensive no-show fee. Because, you know, airlines always provide you with 24 hours notice when they decide to wreck your travel plans. And yes, I have travel insurance, but now it is up to me to haggle with them to try to get this money back, and who knows when and if that happens.

Wonderful resort - great service, food, ambiance, & amenities! We were celebrating our anniversary & greeted with glasses of champagne at check in, a room upgrade, & then a bottle of champagne along with chocolate covered strawberries in our room!! All the restaurants were great! Core is perfect for a special occasion dinner, as well as a delicious daily breakfast buffet! Ignite food & drinks were great & the views are wonderful! Loved the daily mixology course there, too! Lots of fun activities including complimentary bike rentals, workout & mixology classes, driving range, fruit picking, hiking, nightly live music, daily flutist performance, animals on site, water slide, etc. Also loved the little things, like the numerous cozy fire pits & fire places inside & outside, the year round heated pool (kept at 87 degrees, which felt perfect when the weather was in the 60s), the aloe, lotion, & sunblock at the pools & in bathrooms, the infused & bottled water throughout the resort, the staff's attention to detail (our anniversary was acknowledged multiple times, as were our dietary restrictions), the welcome drinks & gifts, etc.

it's just great to be a TITANIUM ELITE member and ask for upgrades this is what you get.....F N nothing. 2nd time in a row sickening. The staff ,support people great ask for something at front desk for upgrade saying your an elite member and get laughter at. Marriott members do yourself a favor and try to build towards this level F that don't waste your time

Nestled in the desert, the Ritz was truly a relaxing getaway. Our room had a gorgeous patio view of the saguaro cacti and mountains. It was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. We loved the rustic desert charm of the hotel. The pools outside looked like an infinity pool, and there was even a water slide for kids and adults. Service was friendly and attentive as always. We had an amazing stay.

The Ritz Carlton, Dove Mountain is everything a high end hotel should be and what we all hope and wish for in every hotel. My husband & I took a moment from work and escaped here for the weekend and everything was what we dreamed of ..& more. Before we even arrived my husband, a Marriott Ambassador, received an email telling him we had been upgraded to a one bedroom suite with a canyon view; amazing .. BUT all the rooms here are beautiful. You get beautiful views from even the 'lowest' of rooms - we have stayed in them and nothing here is 'low level'. My husband also set up massages for us on arrival and a day before we received a call from Joey to confirm and ask if we had any requests. Truly, we are just happy that the world is open and fully spinning again. We are blessed to be able to escape away for places like this. Upon arrival we were greeted by the valet with cold bottles of water ; promptly checked in ; and we were amazed at how tranquil the resort and our suite was -- we have loved this place since the first time we came here about 7 years ago. We had spa appointments so we quickly changed and hurried to the spa where again we were greeted and checked in and shown to our respective areas of the beautiful spa. One of the key highlights of the spa is the hot tub / thermal area has a fireplace , ( NOT that one needs that in summer !) & looks out to the mountains - the pool here is quiet and deeper than the resort pool. Another fireplace is in the serene waiting area. Our massages were amazing and much needed. Afterwards one can use the entire spa / sauna / thermal area however we had a wine tasting that we were attending at Core , and wine tasting is held for $30 pp on Fridays. Joey was kind enough to tell us that we could use the spa facilities privy only with a treatment ,(or payment), on Sunday since we didn't get to use them fully on the day of our massages. Off again to change and the wine tasting. We had been advised this was a 'first come / first serve basis' which didn't make sense and it felt like when we arrived at CORE that some other guests had reservations. IF i had one thing I didn't love about our stay , it was this wine tasting. I dont fault the resort for that , I fault the supposed 'new' sommelier who told us that he didn't choose these wines and had 'just taken over the wine program'. He gave no real description of the wines or the terroir other than 'we came on a good night to be tasting wines at $120-250 &420' .. it felt wrong and didn't sit well with me. I had asked my husband not to tell anyone that I am a L2 sommelier but decided maybe it would make him more friendly .. nope. He seemed to be even more weird with me -- in fact we felt he avoided our table all together at dinner later and when I asked for the wine list he quipped , 'just don't steal it' as he walked away. That was the last we saw of him. However the rest of our dining experiences were amazing as were the staff -- the food at Core was like art and we were treated amazingly by our waiter , Juan. He made up for the salty somm! The next day we had a cabana by the pool - we were met by Josh who took care of us all day and we even road out a desert monsoon here with a flute at dusk. That night we had drinks while enjoying the great live music in Ignite -- we had sushi and our waiter Mathew went above & beyond to make us happy ! He even gave us dessert to take to our suite! Our suite was quiet / big/ plush & the bed was super comfortable.. the little riches here like turn down service with bottles of water & chocolates on your bed make a difference and I'm a sucker for the spoilings! On one morning , our Nespresso had no creamer , so my husband called for a cappuccino and real cream .. MI brought us a cappuccino with cream gratis ! On the last day we woke to the flute playing - went on a hike , ( there are several trails right out the door & also bikes on property) and had a lunch at Cayton's , which used to be a burger bar .. we do miss that , but still managed to split the 19th Hole Burger and had the best Margarita outside of Puerto Vallarta and my husband's bar !! George was like ur waiter and again , impeccable service ! He made sure all of my allergies were noted and even made sure he noted the oil on the fries. We almost booked another day because having a stay that goes so well is well a bit rare but this was pretty much flawless and 5 star all the way - the RC Dove Mountain is beyond a resort .. it goes above and beyond and that is everything.

The Residences at Dove Mountain Ritz Carlton are marketed for seniors who want a place that is quiet yet "close" to Tucson. I visited and found out it is at least 45 minutes on back roads from the Isolated desert location to Tucson. There are no nearby medical facilities, no nearby town for routine shopping, restaurants outside of pricey hotel, no public transportation. The houses are beautiful and well built but you better be young and hardy and like snakes and lizard buddies! Disappointed.

Disappointed with our last stay at the Ritz. We've stayed here a few times before and had a nice time. The staff was courteous and helpful but the hotel needs a refresh. Our room was tired looking. For a 5 Star hotel, it should be perfect. Our room was temperature warm, the carpet was not fully vacuumed, the toilet was not completely cleaned. The knob on the toilet door was loose, the screen door is missing screws, and there are marks on the walls. With 3 emails from the hotel prior to our arrival, I expected our room to be ready. We were celebrating a birthday and I ordered a cake for when we arrive and emailed that he does not like chocolate. When we arrived we had a chocolate mousse cake. I called the front desk and they sent a pint of vanilla ice cream and 2 chocolate chip cookies and an apology. The next day we were surprised to find a vanilla cake. The valet and pool staff were very nice. If the room was clean I would have given 5 stars.

This is an outstanding property in a gorgeous and relaxing setting. From start to finish our stay was incredible; we were warmly greeted by each and every employee and made to feel as though we were VIP even though our stay was booked with a combination of points and a certificate for a free night, meaning we did not directly pay for the room. The amenities at this resort are endless and include Specialized Rockhopper mountain bikes, Specialized road bikes, stargazing, s'mores, two pools and a waterslide, surrounding trails, the affiliated golf club, onsite Rangers, and more. Oh, there also happens to be a resident African spurred tortoise named Mwamba (which means rock in Swahili). We stayed for two days and definitely could have stayed longer and still been entertained. I would have enjoyed spending more time exploring the surrounding desert and trails. We spent a bit of time mountain biking and enjoying the Sonoran and it was amazing. I highly recommend exploring the surrounding desert during your stay. Overall, I highly recommend the Ritz-Carlton at Dove Mountain and cannot wait to plan our next trip here. From start to finish you won't be disappointed!

After the Ritz-Carlton brand got bought out by Marriott, the quality of many Ritz hotels unfortunately declined to Marriott standards, while still charging Ritz prices (see my review for the Ritz-Carlton Dallas). However, I'm happy to say that is not the case with the Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain. This is a true five-star resort that still reflects the level of service and luxury that the Ritz-Carlton brand built its reputation upon. The resort is in a quiet desert location about 30 minutes outside of Tucson. The natural environment is beautiful, and there are no bad rooms - every room has a good view of something, whether it's the mountains, the canyon, or the resort itself. It's a great place for both adults and families with children - there's a large adult pool and a large children's pool with a waterslide (the waterslide is fun for adults too). Service was professional and friendly from all employees we encountered. This was the rare hotel where it was actually easy to get food/a drink/several drinks poolside. The food at all the onsite restaurants we tried was excellent. Definitely try the avocado tostadas at Ignite. Note that there is a $60 per day (plus tax, so it comes out to $68 and change per day) "resort fee." I don't mind paying high prices for luxury but resort fees are, let's face it, BS. As for Covid-related closures, most of the resort was back to normal at the time of our visit (July 2021), although room service was only being offered from 3PM to 9PM. Hopefully the hotel will extend those hours soon. Overall, a great place to get away from it all and do as much or as little as you want. Definitely a location we'll be returning to.

A really nice place obviously, but a disappointment this time. We have four kids, and picked a quick overnight trip here from Scottsdale based on the hotel's promotion of its long water slide. We tried to call the hotel to make our reservation and ask for adjoining rooms but got a constant busy signal. So, we just reserved on line, not a big deal. Unfortunately, when we checked in the hotel told us yeah, sorry, the water slide is out of commission. Nothing on the website with that news, obviously. On a more positive note, we did really enjoy a hotel sponsored ranger tour of the desert area around the hote.

This is a 5 star resort. Professional, kind, helpful staff. Great food, nice trails and sidewalks to hike or walk. Pet friendly. Thank you for an enjoyable experience.

We were here a couple days for a special corporate engagement. The staff was welcoming and helpful with any questions. The grounds are gorgeous. They have 30 miles of walking trail, bikes to ride and a gym. Cozy fire pits all over the grounds with beautiful views. The girls enjoyed 2 heated pools and the water slide, and a couple of activities. They have an upgrade to add an additional tent in the room for the kids to camp inside in. It came along with a lantern, (book and stuffed animal to take home). So relaxing I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff we felt were super accommodating. We don't often eat in site at resorts, but they have so many options and they go above and beyond to accommodate food restrictions. Just the peace and ambiance was enjoyable. Definately coming back for a stayca.

Staff here was in a word phenomenal. Olivia, who handled housekeeping for us on one of the nights we were there, did an outstanding job and left us a thoughtful note in the room upon our return from an evening out. Valet guys run to get your car and you can telephone before going to the lobby so they can retrieve your car and have it ready upon arrival. Live music 5-545pm every day lends to the beautiful ambience of the area against a stunning desert sunset backdrop, especially if you're sitting outside at the I will have fond memories of this place.

We were members years ago of the 2011/2012 of the former golf club enjoyed the resort but today now you try to go just to Ignite to have some thing to eat or watch the astronomer on a Saturday night and it's always blocked off to the public like they think that they're the only great place out there in Dove Mtn (which they probably are) but it's it is just unfair how they treat people and then you call and they act rude on the telephone "Kayla" We will not go back and not spend money not even at the Spa!
