We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh previously in October and were more than impressed. It was a truly wonderful stay in every respect, which is why our expectations for our return visit in December were naturally very high. Unfortunately, this second stay was deeply disappointing.||We are Marriott Bonvoy status guests, but this was hardly recognized at all. From the moment of arrival, the warmth and personal welcome we had experienced during our first stay was noticeably missing. Last time, the service was outstanding and very attentive, especially towards our daughter. We had even been in contact with the butler from our October stay, who had done an excellent job back then. Sadly, this time we did not encounter her, nor did we experience a comparable level of care.||During our previous stay, many thoughtful surprises had been arranged for our daughter – cakes, chocolates, and small personal touches – some of which were also announced in advance for this visit. However, none of these were provided. There was no welcome greeting, no amenities, and no sign on arrival that our stay had even been acknowledged. Unfortunately, the room and bathroom we were assigned were also not particularly clean.||In addition, we were traveling as a group of five and had arranged two hotel transfers from the airport to the hotel in advance. Upon arrival, however, only one vehicle was waiting, which resulted in a considerable delay and a long wait for the second car. This was inconvenient and not in line with the level of service we would expect from a hotel of this caliber.||Overall, this stay felt very impersonal and fell far short of the exceptional experience we had just two months earlier. It is truly disappointing that two stays at the same hotel, within such a short time frame, could differ so drastically in quality.
