"Purpose-built as the first Ritz-Carlton in the Southern Cone, this Santiago hotel opened its doors in June 2003. When guests enter the impressive red-brick building, they are enveloped in a sense of occasion—paneled woodwork, ornately framed paintings, and staff dressed in suits and tuxes. All the trimmings delivered so well by the Ritz brand. Tradition is the name of the game, both in service and style. The rooms are classic, with touches of Latin America in the artwork. The bathrooms are a high point—large, decked out in marble, and stocked with indulgent Asprey amenities. One of the most striking design features is the domed glass roof that tops the hotel. The view of the Andes is fantastic from the rooftop, and the best part is a swimming pool, so you can swim surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Service is a strong point (not always a given in Chile ). You know you’re in good hands at the Ritz-Carlton."

The Ritz-Carlton Santiago, Chile - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"This 205-room hotel in the quiet El Golf district is decorated in the English manor house style that Ritz-Carlton has down pat: wood-paneled common areas filled with Chinese vases and paintings in gilt frames. Yet there are also plenty of reminders that you are, first impressions aside, in Chile. The rooftop pool and gym look out on the Andes, and Wine 365, a wine bar serving light fare, takes its name from the fact that its cellar is stocked with enough Chilean vintages to enable you to try a different kind every night for a year. (Alternatively, you could sample a night of four or five labels, accompanied by tapas, at the evening wine hour.) The more formal on-site dining option is Adra, where lapis lazuli–accented marble floors complement a Chilean-Mediterranean menu. The unremarkable brick-and-glass facade belies the high luxe of bath butlers who can turn your soak into an Andean excursion with Amazonian essential oils and herbs."

"The Ritz-Carlton Santiago is the one and only outpost of the classically glamorous five-star chain on the entire continent of South America. But what makes it special? We could talk about the spa’s sweeping views of the Andes and the perfectly prepared pisco sours at the cocktail bar. But frankly, pretty much every hotel in Santiago has both of those. What the Ritz-Carlton Santiago has going for it is, in a word, standards. It’s a certain breed of old-world refinement that the brand has practiced and perfected for a century." - Tablet Hotels

Incredible experience top to bottom. Staff was friendly and professional. Our bartender Jose was awesome. Great drinks and even better conversation. Rooms were incredible and we had a beautiful view from our balcony. The spa was such a lovely experience. Also the breakfast buffet was the best I’ve ever seen. And for $20?! Unreal.

The room was really nice and we were upgraded as I’m a Gold member which was great. Some housekeeping is needed as the one bulb had gone in the lamp and the safe battery was low. The air con also didn’t do a great job in cooling the room.||The pool area and small outdoor terrace were superb. This truly makes this hotel stand-out. Pool, jacuzzi and the whole area were stunning.||The Club Lounge was superb. Lots of decent quality food and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The toilet didn’t have any soap, and despite us telling the staff, this wasn’t replenished. I guess this would be how I would sum-up the hotel: really nice, but some processes need tightening to make it that Ritz-Carlton quality.

recently stayed six nights at the Ritz-Carlton Santiago on the Club Level and, unfortunately, found the service lacking across multiple touchpoints. While the staff were generally pleasant and polite, the level of service simply did not meet what one expects from a Ritz-Carlton property.||From the moment I arrived, it was clear that attention to detail was inconsistent. The front door was only held open about 30% of the time—despite staff often gathered in the lobby and clearly seeing guests coming and going. It set the tone for the rest of my stay.||The Club Lounge staff were courteous but distant. Plates often sat for long periods unless I asked for them to be cleared, and not once during my stay was I offered a drink—something that should be a given at this level of service. The lounge itself felt more in line with a traditional Marriott than the elevated experience one typically expects from Ritz-Carlton Club Level.||A major letdown was the lack of follow-through on promised tour arrangements. One team member kindly provided recommendations and assured me everything was confirmed before heading off for two days. However, the next day, the person at the desk had no record and had to start from scratch, wasting valuable time.||On a more positive note, the wait staff at the hotel’s main restaurant were the most attentive and professional, particularly during the breakfast buffet. Their service was a refreshing contrast to the more uneven experience elsewhere.||Perhaps the clearest reflection of the overall service level came at the end of my stay. As my airport SUV arrived, I was not offered any help with my luggage—despite the doorman standing just feet away, watching as I loaded my bags myself.||While the hotel is relatively inexpensive compared to other Ritz-Carlton locations, the service quality unfortunately matches the price point. If you're coming with high expectations for luxury hospitality, be prepared for something more basic. There are certainly nice elements here, but the experience left me underwhelmed.

In some ways, it's the Ritz you'd expect: there is a classy feel to the establishment. Room is comfortable, my bedding requests were honored, and staff is generally very nice. In other ways, it's not the Ritz I expected. No one was there to greet you or help with luggage on arrival. I found a hair on my bed. And printing requires you to email what you need printed to the front desk: I know that is common nowadays, but for a business hotel, it really is not costly to have a printer where people can connect either their laptop or USB, so that they don't have to send sensitive documents by email to a third party.

No magic, very little value. I wanted somewhere premium to recover from the flu. This Ritz is not up to the Gold Standards like in New Orleans. From arrival, no doorman, didn't use my name or ask how I was. Instead, tub drain was broken, arrival gift and asked for humidifier never came, and worst, I could not get the housekeeping to stop waking me up to try to clean the room. They woke up me up 6 times in one day and at one point let some random kid in my room while I was sleeping. I had a $100 food credit but the fruit platter I ordered was so bad (didn't have any of the things listed, fruit was old and sad) that I didn't even use it. At check-out they didn't ask me how the stay was. They don't care.

We had a good fortune to stay at the Ritz Carlton on three different occasions during our recent trip to Santiago.||Each experience was outstanding!||The location is fantastic. We could walk to a variety of excellent restaurants, and the hotel staff did a great job of giving us direction on the best options and making reservations for us.||The rooms were modern and well appointed. Water pressure in the shower was excellent. The spa, pool,,and fitness center were great, and the food at their restaurant on site was delicious.||But the best feature about the hotel is the service. It was outstanding! Sebastian at the front desk could not have been kinder to us. All of the concierges, particularly Kristopher, were great resources for us. Another female concierge (whose name I can’t remember), had determined which restaurants would be open over Easter weekend - and walked half a block with us to help us find La Cabrera. And Sebastian, the bellman, held items for us and assisted us in many ways. ||By the end of the stay, I felt the need to get a group picture with this amazing group, which I was calling “mi familia” by that point.||Muchas gracias!!!

We had a great stay at the Ritz Carlton in Santiago. It is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location. Special thanks to Sebastian at the front desk, Jose and Nicholas at the bar, and Omar at breakfast for making our stay wonderful! Would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed for three nights before an Antarctica cruise. The room was very comfortable, lovely views and a great bed. We booked a club room and enjoyed the club lounge and all it had to offer and appreciated the delightful staff in the lounge. We had a problem with a booking agent with which the RC desk staff have been very helpful and attentive in assisting us in getting a resolution with immediate responses from the desk staff to our emails. The hotel is very much "old school" but no harm in that. Would be happy to stay there again.

Yelp
Terrible service from about 1/4 of their staff. Don't get me wrong, our check-in staff, breakfast waiter (on the first morning - not the second), and spa staff were excellent. But a number of staff members are so unprofessional that you will not feel welcome. To provide one of many examples, at the pool we ordered a glass of wine and, after we told the staff member that the glass was very dirty, he brought another glass and poured the wine from the filthy (it had food stuck inside it) glass directly into the new glass, rather than just give us a new glass of wine. When I told him we wanted a new glass without wine from the dirty glass he was offended. Another example is from breakfast-every day we were told our breakfast was included, but when we checked out of the hotel we learned for the first time that we had been charged because the reservation was only for one person. I understand the mistake, and have no problem paying for breakfast, but it is wrong to tell me that the breakfast is included each time we go to breakfast and only spring the bill on me days later. They clearly realized the mistake before we ate breakfast because one morning we arrived for breakfast and treated us with extreme suspicion when we told them we were two people from room 608. Yet another of many examples is our checkout process. At 0945 our last day, a staff member came to our room as we were packing, demanded to know if we had taken anything from the minibar, and then told us we had to check out that day. Again, at checkout, after the staff sprung on us the unexpected breakfast charge (which they knew we were not expecting because they only brought the breakfast charge to our attention and not our many other charges), they again asked us if we took anything from the minibar. Then, two days later, they sent me an email with a $5 charge for a snack from the minibar. We never took anything from the minibar and would have no problem paying five bucks if we had. Worse though was the suspicion and lack of professionalism they treated us with. Rude! This was the most unprofessional treatment I have received at a luxury hotel. Let me be clear, there were many great things about this place - I had an incredible massage, loved the indoor pool area, it was a pleasant walk to the San Cristobal cable car, our concierge and the person who brought our bags were so friendly and helpful, and many other staff were also really professional. But when 1/4 of the staff experiences are rude, treat you with contempt, and nickel-and-dime you over stupid charges, you walk out feeling unwelcome. It's definitely not a cultural thing and not a matter of recruiting staff from cheaper establishments - we stayed at a number of other Chilean hotels on our trip, many of which were not luxury hotels, and the service at all of them was far superior than the treatment we received here. The management needs to get their act together and focus on training. I hope they do, because this hotel has a lot to offer.

Yelp
A large 20+ year old hotel located in the upscale business district of Santiago referred to by the locals as "San-hattan". With 15 floors, this place has a lot of rooms. Ours on the 2nd floor (I hate low floors) unfortunately faced west so the scorching sun required the shades to be drawn at all times and even then running for 24 hours on max cold (after being checked by engineering and certified to be at its capacity) could only cool the room down to 23 from 24.(75), much warmer than we like making for less than ideal sleep. In retrospect I probably should have gone on YouTube to figure out how to overhand assume is managements preset minimum temperature. All that said, this is an elegant hotel decorated in old money New England style. The hallmark is the attentive service by the staff and strong English skills. The hotel restaurant is fantastic both in terms of food quality and service and the inclusive breakfast buffet was outstanding. Our room, apart from being too warm and on a disappointingly low floor, was comfortable and reasonably up to date. The modest sized bathroom was well equipped but perhaps starting to show a bit of age. The room itself had obviously had some updates in the past 5ish years but not the bathroom. The location was good as it is a very safe part of town with lots of good restaurants a short, easy 5 min walk away. Our two-nights here were fine as we concluded our paratroop before heading on. The city itself didn't have a lot to offer.

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel. Rooms are lovely. Bathrooms are nice and big. Unfortunately, the staff are incompetent with the simplest of tasks. There are also a few shady dishonest staff members. Creepy, dishonest, and untrustworthy. These are not attributes one would expect from a five star establishment such as the Ritz Carlton. The Ritz training that I have grown to appreciate and enjoy has fallen short on the lot working at this Ritz Carlton, Santiago location.

Vivian G.

Yelp
An elegant hotel very centrally located. In close walking proximity from many diverse restaurants and shopping. Rooms are large and well appointed. Nice restaurant on main level.

Yelp
Spacious rooms and great service The breakfast is really good too The upstairs pool area is really nice. Pool is heated and there's a great patio where you can see views from the city Location is in a very safe part of town and it's just about 30 mins from the airport

Yelp
Mediocre. Overpriced. Understaffed. Not worth your time. The drinks were fine and the staff were all polite but the hotel is otherwise completely underwhelming. They cut corners wherever possible. Next time I'll pick a different hotel and just come here for a drink. The truly most annoying part of the entire hotel is that the keys/doors don't work and you have to replace them multiple times a day.

Yelp
When it comes to Ritz properties, I have learned that expectations need to be fairly low to enjoy them. The issue is not that they aren't good hotels, it's that they sit in the zone that hardly manages to scratch the five star mark or live up to the luxury advertised. There are some exceptions like Ritz Maldives or even Ritz Toronto, but for the most park the chain is in dire need of remodeling, process improvement and staff training. Ritz Santiago is one of those fairly typical and sadder properties. With the exception of Sebastian at the front desk, most staff were pretty cold. The bar was very disorganized in terms of service, nobody would come for ten plus minutes. The bar is also quite boring, very few people come there and the vibe is missing entirely. The concierge desk is nearly anyways empty and despite standing there for ten minutes and being promised someone would show up, nobody actually came. The prices on the bar menu are otherworldly, with a bottle of Cliquot going for $190 as if we are at a nightclub in Vegas and David Guetta is about to come on stage. When it comes to the room, it was wonderful to get an upgrade to a Junior Suite as a Titanium member. A spacious room indeed and again, it was Sebastian that managed to pull it off. Sadly however, at the hotel as a whole, there is just a huge need for a renovation if this will continue to be the Ritz. Rooms are more recently renovated four years ago and are better than the rest of the hotel. That does not mean tearing down the many gorgeous wooden finishes and marbles, but restoring it to the original beauty of the building. For example, stepping into the elevator makes you cringe after seeing the extent of wear and tear on all parts of the floor and walls. I am not even going to call out the exterior of the property that architecturally looks about as distressing as it gets, without any design thought whatsoever and screaming cheapness on approach. Lastly, I have to highlight a major design flaw about the gym. It is located at the top floor next to the pool, underneath a glass ceiling and with Santiago temperatures regularly reaching 90+ degrees Fahrenheit in the summer and no air conditioning. A workout there would not just be unpleasant, but downright dangerous. Internet is stable and guys working the front door are excellent. The neighborhood where it's located is the one thing that's wonderful. It is safe with good sidewalks and just a short walk from tons of restaurants and bars. I see several other Yelp Elites who used this property for a night stopover and were happy. But, staying here for three nights and experiencing many aspects of the property, I just cannot recommend this Ritz when looking at a macro level of service, lack of a usable gym, architecture and property upkeep regarding renovations.

Yelp
Much better 5 years ago. Our airport pickup was supposed to be for 4. They only had record of 2. They did have space in the minivan. Why send that for two? Flowers I ordered never showed up. Trouble with keys. Club lounge staff is the only good thing 10/10.

Yelp
I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton as a stopover before flying to Punta Arenas. We had to quarantine here per requirements of Ponant (company we are using to go to Antarctica) until we received all of our negative PCR and Antigen tests. This hotel was included in our itinerary and we are thrilled we got to stay here during our quarantine. Upon arrival, we were greeted and welcomed by the bellhop. We were directed to the Ponant area where we received our charter flight details, hotel details during our stay, and key cards. We were offered coffee or tea and cookies. When we got to our room (429) I noticed immediately that we were put in the corner of the hotel which is amazing! It's quiet and has two windows on both sides of the wall. The room is quite large and nicely decorated. There is a selection of fine coffee and tea along with water bottles. The bed is comfortable and there's also a nice lounge chair. The bathroom is what was really impressive. There is a shower with a rainfall water head and a separate bathtub that is deep and shaped perfectly. The toiletries are nice (but not the best scent I've smelled at hotels). For early arrivals for Ponant travelers, you receive a nice snack tray of Brie, jelly, nuts, and fruit along with two cans of coke and a delicious chocolate cake. There was also a goodie bag with granola, ginger ale, a bag of vegetable chips, and a BLT sandwich. You also receive a dinner in room during your quarantine. It really is a nice way to relax and unwind since you can't leave the room. They make it as enjoyable as they can for you. I do highly recommend this hotel even if you aren't staying with Ponant.

Yelp
Well, what can I say? The Ritz is one of the best places to stay anywhere in the world. This is my 27th country that I have stayed at the Ritz and they are ALL CONSISTENT! Best of the best. The restaurants in most need help but other than that, everything else is top notch. No more needs to be said.

Yelp
This could be a Ritz Carlton level hotel but the A/C is not good (even after reporting). Will not go bellow 22 C. Even though we are Lifetime Platinum Elite. The Reception staff does not seem to care much. No Bell service when we arrived from Miami. The breakfast is not tasty unless you ask for something special... Does not feel you are in Chile. The mini bar fridge does not cool. They skimp on their Chinese toiletries that are 3rd class (my dog's shampoo is nicer). The only reason for 3 stars is the Spa and pool bar; which at the 15th floor has a caring reception, pool bar, and therapeutic staff services. So sad for the rest of the hotel. Even at Lobby bar the pianist left at 10:30pm and the Pisco Sours are uninspired run-of-the-mill. Although for us was not worth the extra price of staying here, it has potential if Management was on top. To the credit of Front Desk, at Checkout they gave us a 20% discount on our room rate. Thanks!

Yelp
Everything that you would expect from a Ritz and more. Visiting from the states ans wanted to stay in a place that I could trust to be safe and comfortable. This place did not disappoint. The staff is very helpful, seems most everyone understands English as unfortunately I do not know Spanish. The rooms are excellent, comfortable, very well kept. The concierge is over the top helpful and goes out of his way to ensure your safety and understanding of local customs and local sites to see. I have zero reservations recommending this hotel, our stay was fabulous

Yelp
Trash hotel. Keys don't work, got trapped in the elevator in the first three hours, both concierge and check-in take forever, rooms aren't clean at check-in time, drinking water in the room wasn't sealed, bathroom layout makes no sense (no towel racks????). But sure, they use nice perfume I guess

Yelp
We were holed up in this hotel for a day/night while we waited for our Covid tests to pass quarantine. This was a beautiful location in Santiago and great for walking to nearby restaurants. We only spent a single night here but the beds were cozy, and the staff was friendly and English speaking for dumb Americans like me. We definitely had no complaints.

Yelp
We stayed here for a night as a stopover on our way to other places in Chile. Upon arrival, we checked in at the club floor. The service was very fast and all the staff there was friendly. Since it was lunch time, we had a quick bite at the club room....the spread was not extensive but sufficient. They gave us a renovated room on the same floor (which was appreciated as we were extremely tired from our long flight). The room and bathroom were very spacious. I love the water pressure from the shower hose! All the staff we encountered was friendly and professional. Best of all, it is very quiet throughout the hotel , it is probably more of business travelers but it is a nice change from the other mainstream 5 stars hotels which are always busy and buzzing.

Yelp
Not the best of Ritz locations. I was here for 9 nights and was pretty underwhelmed by most aspects of the hotel. The long and short of it: 1. Rooms. Very standard room. Aesthetically nothing wrong or right with it. The beds are pretty comfy. Comes with a shower and bath, some of the better located ones have private balconies. However, if you have a room near the elevators you will enjoy the 24/7 noise of them clanking up and down their shafts. Ask for a room located further in. 2. Service. The turndown service was usually ok, though sometimes the sheets were not changed when they should have been. We had to call down for towels and shampoo a few times, even after the room was turned down. Not a huge inconvenience but annoying. 3. Restaurant/Bar/Rooftop. Nice outdoor dining area with above average food. The bar is also well stocked but everything comes at hotel bar prices. Pretty much what you'd expect. The rooftop has a bar and pool with a great view. 4. Amenities. The 15th floor hosts a small pool, hot tub, and gym. The gym is very small, a few treadmills, bikes and a set of free weights. More than 3 people in it would overcrowd the area. 5. Location. Located in a safer part of the city, we were able to walk to most restaurants and bars, with a 10 minute cab to downtown. The Golf metro station is also 15 feet away. 6. Price. The Ritz price is still there, prepare to pay out. I didn't feel like I was staying at a Ritz, it was more like a below average hotel who was trying to fool people with their price. Still, it's a warm bed in a good location, but I'd look elsewhere in the area. Overall Grade: C-

Yelp
This hotel is consistent with many other Ritz you will find - clean, updated, courteous and friendly staff. Nice bath products and turn down service. I also appreciated that they had the option for club access - this enabled us to eat and drink any time of day as a part of the room price. I also really appreciated that the staff all spoke English which made it easy. They even secured a car to pick us up at 2am for our early morning departure at the end of our stay. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
The Ritz-Carlton Bar is located on the lobby level by The Lobby Lounge. The bar has the feel of a traditional bar with dark paneled wood walls, leather furniture, and area rugs. The speciality drinks are signature Pisco cocktails. Chilean wines are also available. Located in the heart of Santiago's modern financial district this a great spot for executives to meet. www.ritz-carlton

What a great restaurant....excellent service and atmosphere. Great music and ambiance...a definitely must in Chile.

Yelp
I expected a lot more from the Ritz. The rooms were small and standard. Cigarette buds left on the balcony. Stain on the night stand. Worse of all, we were suppose to get a rollaway bed- which never came. Finally at 9 we called housekeeping to just bring sheets and blanket so we can put it on the day bed in the room for our child. We talked to housekeeping again at 10- now it's getting late but still no sheets. By 11, I went down to to front desk- they said "right away". 40 mins later, no sheets- I go down again because now it's very late. I then learn that they don't know where the keys to housekeeping is- I find this ridiculous and unbelievable. I advised them to get it from an empty room then because I cannot wait until when housekeeping return. I am told the manager is working on it. Finally sheets came but no blankets. At this point, just want to sleep. The next day Enrique really stepped up. Offer to upgrade to a suite - I appreciate the gesture but they suites were not connecting. He was kind enough to allow us club access instead. Enrique you just saved our experience at the Ritz. Added another star from his very professional way of managing the situation. I do appreciate him salvaging our stay. We would have checked out and moved to an alternative hotel. The rest of stay is better. The club is great, Enrique you saved our trip and our opinion of the Ritz. Another star added
